Her blue eyes twinkled as she walked slowly around the small bedroom she was staying the night. Morgause undressed from her heavy armour, placed her helmet aside and her rough iron boots by the fire to dry. She sat by the chair now, thinking. Her plot had started to fall into place. Her mind weaved in and out of itself, searching it’s caverns for more intelligence, more slyness. Uther would pay for what he did. Morgause’s mind now fled to moments ago where she had flaunted her gender in front of the whole court. Morgana had been there; her half sister had caught her eye. Morgause already had a partner in crime…. For the moment. One she had resurrected from the dead. But that sorceress could easily be replaced for another. The blonde haired woman thought about just how easy it would be to manipulate Morgana into taking her side. In fact, Morgause had found already she felt a sort of connection with the raven-haired lady she had glimpsed earlier. Perhaps she would find they actually would become friends. Her slender hands clutched the chain mail she still held tighter, and the lady chewed her lip thoughtfully. So many plotting and planning to do. So little time to do it. Tomorrow she would fight the legendary prince Arthur. And boy did she have a trick up her sleeve for him. Tenderly, as if it was a rabbit, she reached over and picked up her sword. Stroked it’s hilt and blade gently.
She washed a rag in the bucket of warm water that was boiling in the flames, and polished the weapon until it gleamed and sparkled- until she could see her face in it. She grinned at her intimidating reflection, brushed some dirt off her face hastily, and then stood up. Her lean fingers grasped the sword and she practiced with it some before laying it ontop of her chest of drawers. It would serve better in the morning. Morgause hastily flipped her blonde hair back and blinked her pink eyelids smoothly. The witch then pulled back one of the maroon-coloured, long, tatty curtains; chain mail still tucked under her petite arm. Her slender frame pushed past the fabric and she came out near the biggest area of her bedroom- only to see her door being opened suddenly. Morgause froze for a second, frowning up at the entrance; waiting to see who was intruding on her.

Fog and mist spluttered from the atmospheres mouth. It created a pattern which swirled round and round Morgause. She stiffened. Green smoke clogged her senses as it spun around as a web, she the spider that had conceived it. Her hands were cold. She was breathless. Her fingers gripped her dress angrily as she spluttered from the rain, the storm still billowing around her. She fell to her knees, exhausted, fatigued. But she had done it. The blonde haired lady shook, and trembled to her feet again, hands managing to unclench from her red dress. Her eyes darkened evidently, as Morgause looked to see what had happened. And she saw the raven haired sorcerress stepping out of the mist majestically, somehow dry for the moment despite the harsh rain pattering down on Morgause’s and Wolf’s bodies. The witch managed a victorious smile as the fog and mist faded, the openening of the dead shutting. But Nimueh still stood, alive, in the flesh. “It was I.” she responded quickly to Nim’s words, her pink lips still curled into a smile. Her energy began to seep back into her so she strengthened again. The colour gently flooded back into her pale face and her eyes were reduced to a steady almond once more, instead of the ferocious, dark brown they had been a few moments before. Morgause clutched Wolf to steady herself and then cleared her throat. “My name is Morgause. I have heard about you, Nimueh. And I had a feeling we would work well together. Very well.” no softness laced her voice. Her voice was cruel, malicious, but determined and beautiful in a way. She spoke like a queen. The nomad took a step back to give Nimueh space.
Wolf paced behind his mistress like a shadow. He inhaled the new scent, his hackles raised a little but apart from that….he was calm. His large gray head fell to the floor and he crouched down, looking at the other woman from the floor. His intelligent golden eyes twinkled, his paws skidding through the dirt uneasily. Water continued to drench his coat, plaster the grey and yellowed fur to his body, and he moaned warily, huddling closer to his mistress, leader, alpha. Morgause straightened up, pushed the wispy tendrils of wet hair out of her face and frowned, kicking the canine to attention. Wolf immediately got to his feet and braced himself for whatever would happen next. Morgause was, on the other hand, absurdly confident and not the little bit on her guard. Here was a lady she could easily relate to, and she planned that Nim would make a very good partner in crime for her. “Uther Pendragon has reigned for far too long. I think it was time he was stopped. And magic can return to Camelot once more. Uther will pay for what he has done for us Sorceresses.” and pretty soon too, she added quickly in her mind. She narrowed her eyes to slits, for she was very angry at the king. Even the thought of him sickened her. All the powerful people he had slaughtered….even women and children he had killed just to get his own way. She felt very strongly about this, her views and opinions boiled angrily in her mind. Gently, she brushed droplets of water from her dress and then she calmly looked up at Nimueh expectantly, expecting an answer. Surely together they could take over Camelot…. Plots and ideas whirled around in her little, sly mind and she grinned. She was sure about this, sure it would be a good idea. Wolf sensed his mistresses excitement and in turn he wagged his tail a little. Whatever the outcome of bringing Nimueh to life was; it would be a good one. For them anyway….how it went for Camelot would be quite a different story, Morgause thought with an inner smirk.

The “man” almost chuckled. Her dark eyes flicked momentarily to the drawn swords of at least half the occupants of the hall. How she loved to make a dramatic entrance! But her gaze slid away soon enough, as if they were batting away the others in the room like flies. It was Arthur she had business with. She hesitated a little and then a hidden smirk fell upon her pretty face as Arthur stepped to the front of the crowd with his own blade out of its sheath. She would just let him try to attempt anything. Morgause registered the look of shock on his rather handsome face as her gauntlet was thrown at him, she narrowed her eyes as he carefully and almost successfully hid that look in a royal, prince like mask. She didn’t doubt his courage as he swiped up her gauntlet, yet one thing she did doubt was his intelligence! Her plan had worked! She did a little victory dance inside, and the female nibbled on her lip a bit anxiously as she thought of what came next. But of course she already knew. There would be a fight. And she would win. She was confident in her fighting skills, and she was very handy with the blade as she had demonstrated moments ago. And how she would laugh when mighty prince Arthur, future king, was defeated by a woman! “I accept your challenge” his rather surprised voice drifted to her ears, and her little face lit up. Morgause let her long lashes slide over her cheeks as she blinked in excitement. Her plotting was finally showing some outcome.
“If I’m to face you in combat, do me the courtesy of revealing your identity.” Her smart and pride-filled thoughts were vastly interrupted by a second hearing of his voice. She mentally sniggered. She also took in the fact he spoke to her as if she was a man. She rather liked it. She would have to go around in armour more often. Of course, people would soon see that she was a bit slight and small as a man, but then again, a lot of men were. Thankfully the bulky armour made her look muscled, and instead of clinging to her petite form and curves like her feminine dresses did, it fell gangly and spacious around her. Morgause silently giggled. So he wanted to know who he was? Wise boy. And she also thanked the stars for the opportunity to show off. The lady paused dramatically, on purpose, her body obviously tensing, hesitating. She let the dramatic pause go on for some time, hearing joyfully the sound of mumblings and little gasps from her crowd. She stepped back and forwards a little, pondering the idea of revealing herself. And her name! What if Uther recognized it? She despised Uther, if her plan went wrong because of his memory she would surely perish. She remembered instantly that time…
She had been a young child. Morgause was about three at the time, already known to have practiced magic and already categorized as one of the magical children. Some would say she was too young to remember the time where she had almost been killed but others told her magic did strange things to a persons memories and senses. And she remembered her past perfectly. How she had been playing one day with the other children, admiring the little baby Morgana and being cuddled by her mother. But then they had came. Came and snatched her away from her home. Somehow, Morgana was the only one of the magic children that wasn’t put into a cell. The rest were. Babies and children alike, screaming, crying, living in their own mess. The prison had been their home for a week. And then Uther had taken drastic action. Ordered them not only to be kept away, but instead be slaughtered mercifully, by the hand of an executioner. Morgause had watched them die. One by one, be taken away. And she had peeked out of the prison bars, heard their screams as their heads were chopped from their bodies. However, hope had come to her. In the form of Gaius. He had helped her. For unknown reasons, but she was grateful all the same. She remembered the old mans face clearly. The girl had been smuggled out of Camelot and given to the high priestesses, that was where she learned the majority of what she knew now about combat and sorcery. But she could have ended up like the rest. Headless, cold and dead. She would not forget what Uther did. She would never, ever forget. Morgause had sworn vengeance and somehow, someday, she would get her revenge. And that day, whenever it was, she was sure was drawing near. By this point.
Morgause flicked her thick lashes downwards and then let them focus on Arthur again. He would get what he wanted. And she would too- she would get what she lusted for. People to gasp and stare, to look at her and go wow. She’s different. Only a couple of people knew she was a lady who fought with a blade and she had loved the look on their faces when she had explained to them. This time, it would be no different except amazement would be on a higher level. So many people to see her for who she really was, a woman! She braced herself, still a little tense, arms spreading, darkened, polished armour gleaming. Morgause continued to lift her arms simply, and then quickly she let them fall upon her shiny helmet. The witch’s hands grasped the metal hard and then she pulled quickly, spreading the helmet so it came apart. Up and over her head the helmet was pulled until she had dropped it to rest by her hip, still in her armour-clad hands. And Morgause shook out an abundance of golden blonde, creamy locks. They spread to her shoulders, flying up in the air before drifting to fall neatly into place, hugging her face nicely. Her expression remained emotionless and she registered the gasps around her with a simple eye-blink. Morgause’s obviously feminime face became clear, her dark rimmed eyes contrasted very nicely against her pale face. Pink lips pouted a little, and Morgause shook out her long hair another time for good measure, looking at the floor with a frowny-pout. Then, she returned her gaze to where it had rested upon for a while now, on Arthur. And her soft, yet determined voice came from her mouth gently. “My name is Morgause.”

It was a calm night. No wind could be heard and instead the land rested with eerie silence. A lady rowed towards the small island, finally connecting with the land. She smirked and stepped off the boat. There was a mischievous glint in her eyes. Morgause hurried along, she had no time to waste. She needed someone to aid her in the battle against Camelot. Unfortunately, Arthur and Uther had somehow made up after she got together her little plan. But not for much longer! A plan had slowly formed in her quick little mind after her plot failed, and Morgause realized for the first time in her life that having help might be an advantage. Dressed in a bright red and gold dress, the witch strode into the Isle of the Blessed, leather boots crunching the emerald leaves that lay beneath her. She couldn’t bring Victor, her horse, across the water with her so he was tied up a far way away. But her newest companion, a wolf, ironically named by her Wolf namely because she couldn’t be bothered to think up another name for him, trotted loyally at her side. He had fattened up quite a bit since she had found him and his pelt was growing tougher, forming the cover the wounds and bites he bore from the pack she had rescued him from. He still walked with a bit of a limp though, yet her makeshift splint was doing its job well. More and more, Morgause saw not a pitiful creature when looking at him, but instead a beast full of intelligence beyond comparison, and a very loyal canine.
Her long finger nails slid beneath her hair as she rubbed her neck rather anxiously. She soon pulled her magical hands back though as the sorceress focused on what had to be done. Like told before, she needed someone to aid her in her quest to destroy Camelot. Morgause had often thought of Morgana filling that place but alas, she had barely control of any powers she had for the moment. When the time was right, Morgause would ally with her. But that wasn’t to say she wouldn’t find anyone for the time being. She had spent all night forming a plot in her head, eventually the answer coming to her. Nimueh, the dead but extremely powerful sorceress of the old religion would do nicely. Plus, when Morgause bought her back to life, she would be in dept to her. If all went accordingly. Morgause had already met Nimueh several times, after all she had been trained since a young child by the high priestesses of the old religion. She had heard the tale of when Nimueh had tried to destroy Camelot yet failed at it, had heard of how she had bought a powerful man bent on revenge back from the dead. But with Morgause’s help, together they would surely succeed. And learn a thing or two from each other.
She felt her head writhe with knowledge and she smiled as old spells drifted into her mind. Defeating Uther and planting her revenge on Camelot would be a piece of cake at this rate! Morgause walked along the overgrown shrubbery and grass, tearing through flowers and vines until she reached the ruins of the old building that looked like it might once have been a castle. The witch fell to a halt now. Wolf let his nose twitch and his ears pricked up. He didn’t like the silence. Or the whole Isle, but he would stick with his mistress. Her lips pursed together and her brow forrowed in concentration. The lady let one petite hand outstretch in front of her, aiming at nothingness, and she began her spell. “Byre, Amel. Ad ond stad. Acumbedilinces Nimueh fram se geat sylfum se dryhtne! Nu! Nu! Dunland, geat sylfum asprungennes!” Her voice was loud and clear, yet complicated and subtle at the same time. She let her strong chords boom around the island, Wolf jumped at her voice. Magic made her hand jolt and a bolt of lightning suddenly struck the once calm night, rain began to fall on her golden tresses and she licked rain drops from her pouting lips annoyingly. An electric blue spark lit the night air, it’s source her hand. It came whizzing and then struck the iridescent sky, the light growing bigger and lighter suddenly. Morgause grew chilled but focused on the spell as it almost drained her of energy, the female now draped in rain, water droplets cascading down her body simustainasly, one by one soaking into her skin and clothing, her dress and hair now plastered to her body uncomfertabely. “NU” she screamed to end the spell, and a final spark of light let her bold, dark eyes witness a sort of opening in what had once been just simple air. The gate of the dead had been opened. And she had called for Nimueh. Morgause could see Nim’s form slowly flickering into view now. She stood determinedly, legs held firmly apart and strong arms still outstretched to keep the magic going. And a proud smile formed on her lips. Soon, the witch she would expect to see would come through the opening. And she would see the magical woman Morgause, eyes flaming and burning, along with a trembling wolf. “Nimueh?” she called mysteriously into the darkness. The woman’s plan was falling into place. Her mind was a rush of both excitement and terror- never before had she planned something so evil before! Never in her days would she think that she could one day seek out her revenge like she was doing now… Arthur would come to her soon. Three days hence he would make his way to her. But she had to find her own way to her planned location first! Morgause had been travelling for a day, she was now deep in the forest of Camelot. Her sharp eyes and stern expression were evident ever more on her pretty face. Dusk was falling now and she realised it was time to settle down for the night. Onwards she kicked her horse, the blonde lady pulling her maroon cloak further around her. She scanned the dusty sky for signs that the weather would change and her sight confirmed there was not a grey cloud in the sky. It would be a warm night. Morgause gently dismounted when she was sure her companion and she were in a spacious yet concealed location. She patted the gray thoroughbred - who’s sire and dam had been of pure and strong blood - and spoke to the creature softly. Horses were gentle, noble creatures and were to be treated with respect. However much she despised half of the human world she could never get angry at steed’s. They wouldn’t betray her trust or throw her out of her home. Horses she could trust.
She was out of her leathers and armour and now into suitable women’s clothing. She was more comfortable in armour actually, she felt more protected and not as vulnerable, but the appearance of a lady always had it’s advantages….she thought of this with a cruel smirk. Morgause tugged her horse, named Victor, and eventually tied him to a strong looking tree. And then smoothly she had collected several sticks and placed them on a pile of dirt. Conjuring a quick spell, she focused on the makings of a fire. “ád.” She stated sternly, voice sounding strange in the word she used. Flames licked the side of the wood and then roared upwards, sparking into a beautifully warm fire. In no time she had also conjured up a little shelter, and now she sat huddled by the fire, rubbing her hands with ferocity. With dusk came both advantages and dis-advantages….the darkness, the cover of night that she could hide in. And then the cold. Fire was her main ally at night time.
Time passed and her gentle lids flickered a little. She soon shot her dark eyes open though when the thought of food came across her. At once she fled to her saddle-bag’s and pulled out a container of fine meat stolen that morning. She pulled out the salted pork and retired back to the fire side again, using sticks to gently cook the meat. When it was done she lifted a few shreds to her mouth and took ravenous bites. But her eating time was disturbed. The sound of howls echoed through the air. Familiar howls, the sound of a wolf pack. And by the sound of it they were hunting… though just what they were hunting was unknown to her. Their rabid growls and snarls grew louder and closer. The lady quickly drew her sword from where it was concealed and struck it forward in protection. A rustling in the bushes and she jumped… Victor grew very uneasy and scraped the upturned turf with his hoof uncertainly. The whites of his eyes showed in terror as suddenly a bedraggled form jumped from the undergrowth. A wolf, though not even half the majestic beast Morgause had been expecting. Clumps of his fur were missing and he bore many wounds, he limped towards her and his amber gaze met her own, and for those quick few seconds she witnessed intelligence beyond her belief. More growls and snarls came from behind him. It became clear to her what was going on. The wolf here had done something. Something bad. And the wolf pack were hunting not prey but him. They aimed to kill him. Without knowing why she stepped in front of the wolf and she braced herself, sword held firmly in her hand. Several wolves burst out of the bushes, snarling, growling, ferocious. “Stay back” she screamed, twisting her sword left and right, striking at least three of the canines down. They were up again though. She wasn’t surprised. Again and again she sliced her blade through the air as the pack grew bigger and bigger, until at least twelve wolves stood circling her, switching between their previous prey. “Nrysc!” she shouted angrily, watching as they were all thrown back with her magic, their confident growls reduced to yelps. They had given up. She watched sternly as they marched off, defeated, back the way they had came.
Morgause paused, and then the woman returned to her spot by the fire. She sat cross legged and thought about why she had defended the attacked wolf. Perhaps she had some good in her. But no, she had seen an opportunity. She could have not a dog to hunt for her, but an actual wolf. A loyal companion indeed, almost as good of use to her as Victor. The witch’s careful orbs watched as the injured wolf limped towards her. He knew. He knew what she had done for him. She smiled and tossed him some of the meat. He fell upon it like the wild animal he was, ravenously tearing at the meat with sharp, deadly fangs until he had swallowed it whole. “You were hungry.” she stated. She finished her own share and then tossed the scarps to him, before coming closer. He limped back a little but soon stayed put. “Stay” she said firmly. Morgause fell down beside him and examined his wounds. Nothing too nasty. Claw marks and bites along his rump, fur tossed here and there. This was the body of an Omega. Her soft, womanly hands took the most serious of his injuries, the leg which he was limping on. Fractured, it seemed as she felt it. The wolf was still wary of her, he whimpered and snarled a little as she touched him. But soon he grew used to her. Morgause got a stick and pulled some ribbon from her hair. Gently, she put a makeshift splint on to him. It would do, time would do the rest. The lady smiled and then sat by the fire again, the wolf now sitting beside her of his own accord. A bottle of water was pulled from her dress and she drank steadily. It had been a tiring day.

The woman walked to the castle steadily, firm, men’s (yet small sized) boots slapping the stone ground with eagerness. Her strides held purpose and her body was bursting with strength. Nobody would have guessed her gender as she strongly took her steps, right up to the castle entrance. A guard was already there, ready and waiting for any attack. She pitied him. With a smirk, Morgause drew her sword from her side, a metallic sound echoing through the air as the metal blade scraped against it’s sheath. The sword was thin enough to slice through the air quickly and meaningfully, yet stout enough to cut through even the fattest man’s ribs. An original silver in colour, it was her favoured and one of her most deadly weapons. She met her opponents own sword in glee, and then stuck her blade once, twice, and then three times against his chain mail. The clanging sound vibrated through the air as he continued to ward her off, yet it was over in mere seconds. Soon, with a final strike and blow to the heart he had fallen, dead rather than unconscious; though that was her usual.
The armoured lady, complete with a sword, shield, and helmet that concealed all of her face except for her eyes, paused. But only for a second. She tore her glance away from admiring her handiwork on the dead body and hurried along, she had a challenge to place! Beautiful dark eyes glowed a satisfied, lighter hazel as she flicked her sword over her shoulder and heard it clash against the sword of the guard that had crept up behind her. She had a sense for slyness, after all she was experienced in it herself. She would make the mortal pay though for attacking her! Morgause pivoted on her heels, swinging around her blade left and right. The guard was good at meeting her sword yet he was so occupied with her fast moving that he hardly noticed her suddenly go for his chest. He gasped as the sorceress kicked him away, he went flying into a wall and crashed there. And now for the third, for Morgause had known there would be a third. She would make this one quicker than the last two.
A silver-armoured guard came at a run towards her, sword poised in the air. The woman jolted her shield against the metal and then struck her own blade across his neck. He made a choking sound, a gurgle, that was cut short by another blow to his head. A pretty smile crept upon her strong features and then she swiftly turned away and marched past his fallen figure. It was time now. She was ready, more than she would ever be. Morgause adjusted her helmet to make sure it was properly concealing her feminine face, and then the witch jogged to the wooden door that was the only thing between her and Camelot’s fate.
The lady took a breath and then swung open the door, at once striding in, her posture that of a Knights. Sword and shield at her side, draped in chain mail and armour, she looked exactly like a warrior. And she was. Though not the one you would expect to arrive at Camelot. Her ferocious gaze flicked through the crowd quickly, sharp eyes quickly drifting from those that were merely an annoyance. Before her, was a large group of people watching fighter’s be Knighted. In the middle of it all lay Uther and Arthur. She had to restrain herself from slaughtering Uther as she had imagined doing all her life. No, she would take him down the patient way. Morgause locked eyes on Arthur now, she met his blue optics and then quickly continued walking until she was a few metres away from the royal’s and the knights. Her sword was back in her sheath for the moment, yet who knew what she would attempt? But it soon became clear what she wanted. The female, for the moment known as an obvious male, lifted one hand and grasped her silver gauntlet. She ripped it from her armour and threw it with precise aim, it skidded to the ground and rolled in the general direction of Arthur’s feet. And now, Morgause silently watched as her plan began to fall into place. How long she had dreamt of this moment. Despite being Gorlois' daughter, Uther ordered Morgause to be killed with all the other magical children, however he did not kill her half-sister Morgana, a baby at the time, because Morgana was his daughter.
For unknown reasons, Gaius was asked to smuggle Morgause, a child at the time, out of Camelot. He gave her to the high priestesses of the Old Religion.
