Alexander sat with his back against the wall. His hands were chained. He had been trying to think of a way to escape, to get himself, the King, and the other knights out of here. If they could regroup, maybe they could find a way to defeat these things. One thing he was sure of was that Morgana and he knights, if one could call them that, needed to be stopped as soon as possible. It had made Alexander sick to his stomach as he had stood in the line with Sir Leon and the other knights and watched them fire onto the people of Camelot. Alexander was prepared to die for Camelot; he would consider it an honor. However, those people had not deserved to be harmed.
He heard a woman’s voice and dismissed for a second until he heard the King speak. He had recognized her. Were they getting out of here? He got to his feet and stepped foreword until his chains stopped him. Then he heard Sir Leon speak. Alexander respected him; he had been a knight longer and had served with Alexander’s father.
“Sire, Sir Leon,” He addressed them. His voice cracked a bit as he spoke. He had not gotten any food or drink in a while. He needed to let them know he was here since they could not see him. Alexander would do anything he could to help them. He trusted their judgment, since he could not recall who the woman was. He hoped she was an ally. They needed to get out and find others who were free and could fight, so they could end this once and for all. Or die trying.

Alexander smiled slightly when he saw it was the Prince coming. “Sire,” he greeted in return as he extended his hand out in greeting. “Call me Alex,” he added. He didn’t let just anyone call him Alex. In fact, it was mostly only the other knights and Arthur he allowed to call him by his nickname. He had to know a person, trust them, before he allowed them to call him Alex. He trusted the knights and Arthur with his life, and Alexander figured that was the most trust a person could give. "Seems rather bold of you to enter the competition without a weapon" Alexander laughed a bit at that statement. “Yes, well, my father Sir James taught me to be ready for anything, besides I like keeping everyone on their toes. Do you doubt my skill, Sire?” he said jokingly as he smiled.
Alexander felt at home on the training ground and with the other knights. He spent most of his time around them as he had served as his Father’s page and then squire, before becoming a knight himself. He had many fond memories of watching his Father practice on this very training ground. He watched him as he had prepared for tournaments and battles. Alexander had learned so much from him over the years in what he had been taught and by observing his Father. His Father never showed fear, no matter what he faced. Alexander hoped he could live up to the legacy his Father had left him in Camelot. Alexander wanted to make sure he did his Father, Prince Arthur, the King, and everyone else in Camelot proud at the tournament.

Alexander was riding his horse to the river on this beautiful day. He had today off and wanted to just relax. He wasn’t in any particular hurry. He liked to stroll and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature around him. All that changed when he heard the scream of a woman. He instantly became more alert as he drew his sword. He urged his horse into a gallop and took off in the direction he believed the scream to have come from.
When he arrived at the waters edge, he saw a woman and a boy who appeared to be shaken up but what shocked him more was the woman who was struggling in the river. With a quick glance around, he quickly assessed that there was no need for his sword at the moment, so he quickly put it away and dismounted. He had to help the woman she was clearly struggling. He knew with his chainmail on he would not be able to go in after her and pull them both to shore. The current would be too strong, and would carry them both to their deaths. Glancing around he saw a fallen tree branch and hoped it might be long enough to reach her, so that he could pull her ashore. He quickly grabbed the branch and ran to catch up with the current carrying her. He hoped he would not be too late. There was a waterfall, and if she reached that, there would be no way to save her. He reached the waters edge and held out the branch. He hoped she was conscious enough she could grab a hold. Alexander called out, “Grab a hold of the branch so I can pull you to shore!”

Alexander turned and saw a young woman curtsy to him. He nodded in acknowledgment. She looked familiar to him, but a lot of people did, as he had been in Camelot all of his life. Alexander did not believe he knew her name. He offered her a small smile and said, “Good morning. And I thank you. Will you be attending?” He wondered if she enjoyed seeing the tournament. He thought most people in Camelot did, or at least there was always a high turnout. He knew seats were usually hard to come by, if one was not either in the tournament or royalty. However, he had to figure not every person enjoyed it. It was nice to know someone wished him well today. Alexander knew if his parents were here, they would be doing the same. He probably would have been practicing with his Father at this very moment.
While tournament days made him nervous, he tried not to think of the many things that could go wrong. Worrying about that would not do him any good, and would only serve as a distraction. He could not afford to be distracted. Tournaments made him happy as well. The town seemed to be more alive when there was a tournament going on. Everyone was full of excitement and anticipation. Alexander could not deny he was too. He was anxious to see how well he would do today. Hearing the people of Camelot cheer for him and his fellow knights was always humbling to him. He wanted to make the people of Camelot proud, not let them down. And he wondered who this years champion would be. He hoped it would be someone from Camelot.

Alexander stood in the middle of the training ground, the grass firm under his feet. He liked all the different types of training a knight had to do. It kept him sharp and always ready for an attack. His Father had always instilled in him that a knights training never ended. If a knight stopped training, they would not be at their best while in a fight, which could lead to them getting injured, or worse. The only thing he did not like was the heavy chainmail and armor. It got annoying after a while.
He did not have his armor on at the moment. His feet were spread apart for better balance and his arms were up. He was practicing his favorite thing hand-to-hand combat moves. It was what he was best at. One never knew when they might lose there sword and would need to rely on their body to protect themselves. If the other person still had their sword it was not a good situation, but if both were with out weapons, it was the kind of fighting that Alexander loved. Practicing worked better when one actually had a real person to practice with. However, no one else was here at the moment, so he was just running through possible scenarios in his mind and trying to come up with the best way to counter it. Alexander stopped practicing and looked behind him, as he heard someone approaching.
timeline: Valiant- before the tournament.

Alexander was nervous. He tried not to show it around the other knights, he didn’t want them to think he was weak. Alexander had not gotten much sleep that night. He had been sitting there shining his armor for the longest time. He needed to get away and have some time to clear his head before the preparations of the tournament needed to begin. He got up and quickly dressed, before leaving his quarters.
He walked into Camelot, not sure where he was going. The early morning sun shone brightly on him and the dirt crunched under his boots as he walked. He walked for a while and then realized where his body had chosen to go unconsciously. Home. Well, The home his father had raised him in. He stood near the house and put his hand above his eyes to block the sun so he could see better. Not much had changed in all these years, on the outside anyway. He knew the inside would be different. It had to be. His Father had not changed anything after his Mother died. That is what his father had always said, Alexander had never gotten to meet her. It was times like this that he missed both his parents. He wished they could see the man he had become.
Time line: Early morning during Valiant.
