Guinevère noticed him lift his head and she gave him a soft smile, hoping that it was comforting. "Where am I?" She looked around, but did not know the name that most called this place. "A cave a few miles from the city." More then a few really, a day at least, but it was the best she could do as calling it a druid name for the cave would give her away. "Where's Merlin?" Who?
Oh! Yes! Emrys. "He said he would be back. He went for news of the city, and to see what he could learn." And for his prince that he had so much faith in. "I'm Guinevère, but friends call me Gwen. I am a friend of his . . . from a village not far from here." She wondered at his name, "You must be good friend of his. A friend of Merlin's is a friend of mine." She knew she was talking too much, but she could not help it. "Do you work with him in the castle? I mean . . . of course you with him in the castle. He said you did, but . . . I mean . . . do you work with him or just know from from work? . . . . well, like work with him every day, on the same jobs--or do you elsewhere in the castle . . . "
Smiling softly she let out a breath, "Sorry. I guess I am a bit nervous. This close to the fighting and all." Knowing knights were out there, and a battle as close. "Would you like some water?"

---"I need your help," "You have magic, why would you need my help?" ---"He knows he is injured, I can't heal him or he will wonder how." "What happened?" ---"He is a servant, he was injured while escaping. Can you help me?" "You know you have to but ask, Emrys." ---" . . . You might not want to call me that."
Guinevère, or Gwen to her friends, had been sitting with the shirtless man for most the night. Emrys had gone to find news of the attack, and if she had to assume . . . try to save his prince. As a druid, she believed that she should not hate the ones in charge, and that forgiveness and understanding were needed with the ones who feared what they did not understand. Yet, she feared them as well. A soul deep sort of fear, for she knew they did not ever question right or wrong and had killed many. Her father included.
The man that Emrys had brought her too was handsome, and had not awaken from his pain induced sleep yet. The herbs that she had given him would help ease the pain enough for him to awaken and heal. In truth, while painful now his injures would be healed enough for him to move easy by the end of the week. She dipped a cloth into the water and lifted it to try to keep cleaning off some of the dried blood.

Guinevère looked up when a knock came at the door, but smiled brightly when Arthur entered and Rosa left with a knowing smile. "Did it fit well?" She asked, "I had hoped it would but he wasn't sure if he could do it from just your old armor." Though she hoped that he could. She wanted Arthur to be able to wear it for at least official things if he wished. She would not ask him to wear it into fights or jousts until it had bee tested.
She at least knew that much, that one did not wear untested armor into any sort of area or fight were they armor would need to be used to keep you alive. It was pretty but she wasn't sure if it was really as strong as the blacksmith boasted. Rising to a stand, she waited to see where he would like to eat, and what he thought of the gift before trying to ask him anything else about armor or girls.

Guinevère smiled brightly, glad that Arthur seemed to truly enjoy the gift. He had joked about the pups and Guinevère had been surprised that she even laughed. "Then I shall leave you for the fitting, and await you for luncheon when you have finished." She knew it wise to not linger, so she gave a nod to the blacksmith before leaving with Rosa.
Once she returned to her chambers, Rosa helped her once again return to her casual and simple black dress. Guinevère took the time to clean up before returning before the fire to await her husband and speak worth Rosa a few moments in order to thank her, and encourage her to 'thank' a special knight as well.
Back in the room, the blacksmith lifted a cloth pouch to the king, 'A suggestion of my wife's. So your lady can wear your seal, my king.' in it was a broach make of the same metal, and on it was the Pendragon's dragon seal.

SDCC Spoiler round up! If you see five ( ) highlight the middle of them for the BIGGER spoilers!
They're going to address the Agravaine thing from last season
Merlin's temptation to use darker magic will be a theme. (((((Telepathic connection with Mordred, who knows his secret, is important)))))
Gwen has "been forgiven," knows that she has Arthur's trust & their relationship has survived & grown stronger then before
No love interest for Merlin
Evil Morgana was so isolated in Season 4 that Katie says she loves working this year w/Colin, Angel & Bradley
They may be planning 3 movies as well as a Season 6: "One idea we've been playing around with is to reboot the whole series [for the films]," says Capps. "We would go back in time and start the story again and show different parts that you didn't see in the series. The other idea is to do a continuation, but we haven't decided yet."
Morgana is hunting something called Arthur's Bane
(((((Uther returns in a very unexpected way and returns in Arthur's life where he's missing his father and he needs some advice and in a moment of weakness, and he is able to contact Uther.)))))
What's great about this season, it relies more on the four of us [Arthur, Merlin, Gwen and Morgana] to carry the story, it's not so much a villain of the week Source.
Lots of epic Morgana/Gwen scenes in trailer.

THANK YOU EVERYONE! You are really the sweetest peeps ever! No really, you guys are! Things have been a bit tense in my life with some major changes coming up and I have had a lot to deal with so when I saw this and the chat box and Tumblr, I cried. Like real tears, not just how we joke. You are all so sweet to me, and so very kind!
Especially Euphoria/Arthur/Am. Her whole post was a bunch of overly bias crap, cause I am only nice when I want something and she just thinks I do more then I really do but . . . . I love her for thinking I am better then I am. Am, honestly, thank you. Even when we are fighting I feel better and more like me then when I am happy with others. Good thing we don't really fight. I'm a bitch and we know it, and I really pray you never get smart enough to see it and leave me.

Everyone waited while Arthur looked over the armor. The blacksmith watching Arthur the closest, as his king seemed to not only like but love the armor that was built and worked on and designed . . . . for him. Arthur asked how much he would sell it for and the blacksmith looked confused for a moment. 'It . . . . it has already been purchased, my king. Armor must be made to fit the man who wears it, and this was an order put in by a queen for her husband.'
Guinevère looked at Rosa, thanking her with a kiss on her cheek before walking up toward Arthur. This was her gift she had wanted to give him. Knowing how she had been so excited, Rosa and Galahad had brought the man and the armor here so she could still give it to Arthur. "For the champion." She said softly, so he would know this was the gift she spoke of. Armor fit for a king. Made to keep him safe, while displaying his new status.
The blacksmith pulled one of the cuffs up and held it out toward Arthur, as the seal of the Pendragon family was there in darker iron. 'I used the measurements of your current armor, sire, to make this one. All is needed is to make sure the fit is strong.'

Guinevère smiled as Rosa walked toward her, and Arthur left. It took a half moment however for Rosa to explain what was now happening! Guinevère's face broke into a bright smile, "Really?!" She asked, before standing up. Rosa helped her remove Arthur's shirt and slip a purple corset around her middle so it looked as if she was wearing a dress rather then a night dress.
Galahad had pulled Arthur to the hall and down toward a sitting room, meant for when the ladies of the court would join the queen for sewing or tea. Galahad gave a few teasing remarks about Arthur needing to see something, before opening the door and letting Arthur enter first.
There was a middle aged man there, clearly lower class, but strong looking. He stood next to a full armor set. This was no normal armor, for it was lighter in color, and slightly thinner. All down the arm and over the chest plate there were etched in curves to for a design over the metal. "My king," The man saw with a bow that almost made his top heavy form tip over.
Guinevère walked in behind them, and paused at the door while waiting to see what Arthur might think.

Guinevère liked this, sitting here just talking with him about little nothings. Everything. Anything. Laughing at his adventures, and when he claimed it was her he envied she blushed looking down. He had made strangers turn to brothers, and farmers becomes the most well known knights in the kingdoms--Yet he envied her? "Family is not just blood." She told him softly, "Your father and sister are proof of that. Your friends--your brothers--are your family. They are you strength and family more so then the rest. You should not envy me because I have a small family."
"Yours is much larger then mine, and full of people who want to be family, rather then a few people who are just glad they happen to be." AND his family was growing, for she hoped he might one day see her as such, and she also hoped that soon she could give him a child and let him have the blood family he wished for.
Arthur had not answered her question--claiming the knights were not broken hearted--so when he asked her the same she only returned the favor. "Rosa came with me as well." She teased, not going to answer something he would not. Though his lack of answer made her wonder even more . . . had he loved another? Did he love another still? A farm girl, perhaps? Someone he could not have made a queen, or perhaps he needed the alliance with her father too much. He did not seem as if he would put a title over a person but . . . .
So many questions arose by his unanswered one. Was this girl beautiful? Was she strong willed, or more mothery? Did she love him back?
A knock at the door kept her from asking one of these questions, and after they were allowed to enter, Guinevère saw it was Rosa with lunch, and carrying the try for her was Rosa's favorite knight.

Guinevère laughed at his story, as she imagined the chaos they caused that poor man! "I fear that any son's we might have shall need to be watched closely. For I have heard the curse in which many parents swear by, of how the children are just like the parents." Meaning she was sure their sons would find their own trouble. Just like their father! "That poor man! Was he horridly mad?" She asked, though that did not count as her question!
"What was it like growing up in court will all that gossip, rumors and scandals?" Like in court was not like how his life sounded. Far from it. "It was . . . formal." She said as best as she could. "I enjoyed court, and the scandals . . . if you were in favor of the court--and as a king's daughter I often was--then court is wonderful. Everyone laughs and teases and dances . . . . but if you are not then you can feel very . . . alone." There were times when she had felt very alone, with only her brother to keep her company, or her father when her brother was away.
"I never had a daringly grand adventure like yours. Other then Rosa I've never found a friend that I was even completely close to . . . . Growing up in court, with everyone watching your ever move and no one forgetting a single thing you ever did or said . . . "
"I envy you." She admitted and blushed for a moment, "I do think I would give up my life, for I did love it but . . . To make friends like you have, and to get into mischief . . . "
There was a long moment of silence before she spoke again, "I bet you broke allot of hearts?"

Guinevère took Amaren from him, and stood up while Arthur made ready to leave. "I cannot leave him alone," She explained, "Here would be best if you are able to make time. I . . . I know you have guest and things that demand your attention. I will be here all afternoon if you need to be late." His almost wife might wish to lunch with him, and she could not keep him for personal reasons because of that.
Oddly she found herself wishing things were different. That their love had been enough to over come her status, and that many things had never happened. She waited until Arthur left, Amaren waving to him, before she took him down to see the others. With the busyness it would take a while before others noticed there was no husband, or someone asked . . .
She wondered how long she had before everything became exposed. After a small lunch with Mary and John, Guinevère took Amaren to go in and settle in for a nap. She still had no crib and used the pillows to for a small wall to keep him from falling. Sitting on the edge of the bed, with the door cracked she sang to him softly. Even when his eyes closed she still whispered the sung song, though more to comfort her for what was to come.

It wasn't anger that she felt toward him. It had been once but was no longer the fire in her heart. Now it was only broken, and sad. Arthur still was the only man she had ever loved, and would ever love as a woman should love a husband. Yet he had made promises and given her hope then with no warning said good bye.
Yet this did not mean she did not think of him, and how he would be a good father if he followed his heart and not done what was expected. She watched Amaren try to look under the plate, and spoke with out meeting Arthur's gaze. "Yes, that would be agreeable." So formal. Was this even her? "I do not know if I have answers to give you, I am not even sure of anything." But after lunch, they would figure it out.
Together.

They were safe! Most of them at least, but she knew that he had brought them here that mean the small village was not so luckily. Still, homes could be rebuilt, and items could be replaced with time. Lives could not. She still did not believe that she had done enough, she could have warned the people hours before hand, but she was not going to make a spectical before Arthur. She smiled softly, and moved to sit on the edge of bed, feeling over whelmed at the joy of knowing that it was over.
Amaren was starting to pat on the metal and knock on it while enjoying the sounds. He also tried pulling ti some to remove it. 'What's this?' He asked, even as Arthur had just explained things. It seemed it was fascinated by the odd clothing. It was reminder that even in the joy, they needed to speak and the time was now. The village might know she had no husband and not judge her for it, but the people here in the city assumed her husband was among them. "I fear he is a bit restless, for being in doors so much." She said softly, trying to think of how to begin the hardest conversation they would have as of yet.

"Its just something Papa wears to protect himself." Arthur explained and Guinevère knew that soon he would come to see how knights dressed. While he knew the word knight, knowing and seeing how they dressed were different. Knights were armor, he knew, but what armor was and how it looked like he did not. Amaren's loud laughter from Arthur's movements drew her from her thoughts. "I missed you very much," Arthur told Amaren, and she knew it was something he once said to her.
Before everything happened between them. "Have you been being a good boy for your Mama?" Amaren laughed as if his question was funny, and Guinevère found her own lips lifting at the reaction. 'I want to play outside!' He begged while touching the armor, feeling it and sticking his fingers under the chest plate while trying to see what it was.
She's not taken him outside in effort to avoid Arthur's would be wife. "Perhaps after lunch." She said quietly, knowing Arthur could not join Amaren while others were around. The name Papa would give too much away. "How . . . . What happened?" She asked softly, hoping that he could give her good news.

Arthur had asked her a question but she waited for him to answer her own before she would tell him of her homeland. He seemed to find it easier to speak of his friends rather then his home. She wondered if he had bad memories or just sad memories attached there--or if shew as reading too much into this because she was already emotional. "It seems like they were a burst of trouble." She told him with a smile, liking that he seemed to find his own family, while she had been raised with a household full.
Knowing it was her turn to answer his question of, "I have never had the pleasure of visiting Carmelide. What is it like?" Guinevère thought for a moment. "It's colder there." Because it was more north. "The land is beautiful, and while our winters are harsh we have learned to make the most of our warmer summers. In the summers we will open the courtyard and have an outdoor ball. There is always a scandal during one of them . . . though normally from a farm boy brazen enough to sneak in and try to escape without being caught."
" . . . or from a lady whom let herself be taken away by the moment. . . . . In the winters the snow comes and travel becomes almost impossible. We spend the nights before large fires and gossip runs wild."
Fond memories made her smile soft but bright as she thought about all the moments she had. "Tell me of your adventures with your friends. What sort of trouble did you find them getting you into?"

Guinevère reached out for his hand when he held it out but there was something felt more then saw. Perhaps it was in his smile. Nothing changed, and his tone was even almost normal but she felt as if there was a shift or pause when she asked about his home. "An answer for an answer?" She asked, noticing that he was not let the conversation linger on him but shifted things to her.
Letting Arthur help her sit and rest on the pillows, Guinevère answers his question. "It's hard to explain," She admitted, not knowing how to explain what she thought was normal to someone whom it wasn't normal too. "It was . . . . happy." Was that the right word? Did that one word cover her whole childhood? "I like to think that we were happy. My father is a king and because of that there were many expectations but most of them on my brother. He is the heir, so he had to be perfect. With my mother gone . . . I had a nanny and I think that is why . . . I am how I am . . " She tried to tease, but knew what she meant.
She was too nice sometimes, and before she had let other nobles whom were more stronger in speech in manner intimidate her. Now that she was queen, everyone sort of just jumped to hear her every word. "Your friends were farm boys? Did they welcome you into their group, or . . . how did you meet them?"

Guinevère watched him walk out before arising and turning to make sure the bed was clean and then walking behind the screen. She put on one of her thick black and plain dresses that was meant to be worn for such times. She had three clean and ready for to be able to change into 'in case' she might need too. Then Arthur's shirt went over the top, allowing her to wear it but still be dressed.
When Arthur came back she stepped out from behind the screen and smiled at him. He was so unlike noble men, for they just assumed people would be fine around them, and cared not for comfort of others like he did. "I need nothing in this moment," She told him, "Everything I need is here." Him. He was here. She was grateful for that.
"I thought perhaps you might tell me of your home . . . before you came here." She explained. "Did you live in Camelot? Or out side her borders?" While others might know of where he was raised she knew nothing. Only that he had came and taken over the kingdom. Whom he was before, was a mystery to her. "You lived near you friends? The ones whom are now knights?"

"I did not feel much like eating," She admitted with a look down, KNOWING that if he would be in the room she could not wear only his shirt! Not only for obvious reasons but also because she had stole it for comfort. Perhaps she could wear if over a dark gown or something. While she still wasn't very hungry, she knew he would not have dined yet and she wanted him to be at ease with eating rather then holding off for her shake.
"If you would order a luncheon, then I will step behind the screen for a moment." She would eat a little, but she wasn't hungry enough or anything heavy. "Perhaps just some bread and fruit for me?" Nothing with meat and bulk. Waiting for him to arise, and leave her for the moment so she could step behind the screen, Guinevère thought to add one last thing, "Thank you, Arthur, for . . . . for today."

Arthur spoke of how she might not be able to go out places but how they could spend the day together. She left him speak and finish speaking before she pulled back enough to look up at him. There was clear surprise in her eyes and she found herself wishing that she could at least give him his gift today. Yet she wished to see him when he saw it. Yet today they could just spend the day together. "You would still stay here?" She asked, "With me." Like this, was the unspoken words that she did not say.
Men should not wish to spend time with women like this but Arthur seemed to think it changed their plans instead of ruined them. They could spend the afternoon here? Talking and speaking of things. She suddenly had so many questions to ask him and these were not even the sort of ones meant to drive him to be with her but honest ones. She wanted to know more about his life before he married her. Why a man of so much charm and . . . . . he could have any woman! Why marry a princess sight unseen when surely there had to be better ways to gain a bride? "We could get to know each other," She whispered as if that was suddenly what she wanted most in the world.
