Guinevère smiled up at him softly, as the idea of her measuring him for trousers made him loose that confidant manner he spoke. Guinevère bit her lip to keep from smiling more up at him as she really liked the idea that she had that power over him. One she'd never abuse, but just enjoy the thought it was there. "Tell me about her," she asked to distract him, even though she liked his uneven words.
She listened while measuring his neck, and taking notice of how strong even the weakest part of him was. She liked their size difference. As a blacksmith he was strong, more so then most men of his size. Some men used this for power over others, were as others--like Arthur--used it only to protect. Now he'd get to use the strength of his heart to protect as well.

She hated it. She hated that she felt sick over the thought and that she had to let him do it any way. She hated he was right in needing to go out there. Guinevère lifted her hand to touch his face, trying to think of a way to hold him toward her. Trying to think of something to do to change this so hew as kept safe and she'd never had to risk him again--yet she couldn't. She couldn't think of any such thing.
"I love you," she reminded him, needing to say it in case--in case she didn't get another chance. Like she'd not gotten a chance before. Her fingers slowly lowered from his face as she nodded. She'd go with him. She'd stand beside him! Because she was his wife, and his queen! Because it was no longer just his kingdom but their kingdom! She wouldn't ask him do this alone! Her hands tightened over his before letting go as she bent to pick up his sword and hold it palm up to him. "You will need this." She'd take his other, non-fighting, hand in her own. She wanted him to hand his dominate hand free--just in case.

She would be friends with a knight? Gwen wondered if he was thinking clearly! What did she have in common with a knight? -- What did she have in common with a prince?! Yet here they were! "There's nothing to apologize for," He told her, and she smiled softly, glad that he wasn't mad. "Magic is never truly gone from Camelot. That is learned the hard way." That was . . . shockingly wise coming from the prince. It made her face turn a little serious, but understanding. "I'm sorry Guinevère." THAT made her eyes widen a little bit more. An apology and her name. He looked at her, and really looked at her. "To put you in this position of telling you something I ask you not to share with others." Because that was very . . . . . Who was this man?
Gwen looked at him and wondered if this was the prince. Was he Arthur Pendragon under a spell? Or was the spell only too look like the prince? "You do not seem yourself," She told him, trying to decide which this was. She didn't know the prince well enough to know for sure. Perhaps once she saw him with Morgana she would know. Arthur would ALWAYS act a certain way around Lady Morgana. They's tease and play, even in their softer moments, they had a banter she'd never seen before. "Is the future so different then?" She asked, trying to figure out what she believed.

Arthur continued to say nothing, and she sat there before the fire feeling turmoil growing inside her. Confusion and embarrassment, and so much more. When he finally moved it was only to dress in wet clothes too. It hurt that he rather wear wet clothes then . . . . whatever they had been doing. She felt unsure around him when moments ago she'd never felt more sure of anything. They'd made promises that she shouldn't have been able to make, but their love was stronger then rank, and order . . . Wasn't it?
He finally spoke, and he wasn't as eloquent as he normally was. Arthur who spoke with a sure tone, and direct words, now sounded more like her, the way he paused and thought over each little bit. As if each word was chosen with the most care. She didn't understand then either, at first. He told her she was desirable, but had pulled away. He told her that his body what?
She finally turned to look at him, and when she did, she realized what he meant. Looking back at the fire her eyes widened slightly. Oh. " . . . Oh!" She'd never heard a man speak if that before and it left her feeling unsure how to respond--and pleased she'd made him do that . . . and a little disappointed that he'd had to leave her so suddenly to stop it from happening. She was also curious.
What did she say? She had so many questions that she'd never dare ask. Did it hurt? If it hurt why would they do this? If it didn't why did he pull away? "I've never . . . " Seen one, touched one, had experience with him.

Guinevère could hear the edge in his voice, and didn't know what put it there. Was he angry? She couldn't imagine it. She'd done nothing. Hadn't she? She'd been a little---a lot forward. Was it too much? Was it unlady like? Guinevère heard him ask about her wet things and her brows went up! He wanted her dressed!? Her face went pale, and she felt her eyes prickle.
Reaching silently for her wet pants she pulled them on, and then her the purple over cloak that would cover everything but let her tunic dry. She still pulled the blanket back over her, giving it yanks to make it go around her shoulders. She was embarrassed, and upset, and angry! And hurt. And maybe a little heart broken that her first experience turned out like this. She almost went to get the pillow and just go to sleep before the fire but she wasn't going to just let this go. "I am dressed!" She told him, her voice but shaken and strong.

He didn't understand, and she wasn't sure that she could make him see. The last time he'd marched off with an army at his back and similar odds--she'd never seen him again. Now he wanted to march toward the same army. Only this time they were int he city. This time the wolves were at their doors. Guinevère closed her eyes, feeling defeat in the need to keep him safe. She knew she couldn't hold him here, and that he was right.
And she hated it, and feared it.
Her hand tightened on his. She didn't smiled at his teasing, but just looked up at him. "If the fight does not turn . . . you will leave?" She asked, knowing there was a chance they would need to escape Camelot. Arthur had done the impossible many times--and she'd see him take the WHOLE kingdom back from an army with 6 men! She'd seen him do it twice even. She'd seen him fight dragons!
Yet, these were before she knew how loosing him felt. She'd go with him, if he agreed. Though Guinevère wondered if he could ever just walk away from his kingdom.

The kiss was building! She could feel it, and it was all she could think about. All she could feel, and it took over her! A wetness she'd never felt before was beginning to grow between her thighs as Arthur---Arthur?! He pulled back, dropping his blanket, before grabbing it and moving away. "Sorry, I'm sorry," He wasn't looking at her, and instead held his back toward her. The heat from moments ago turned to chill, and the excitement of the kiss turned to an acute self awareness. She tugged the blanket tighter, and higher around her, seeing how it had began to fall.
She'd enjoyed the kiss, but now she wondered if he had? He seemed liked he had, but then he'd . . . left her here.
She turned to face the fire, and pulled her legs more under her. Reaching out she felt of her pants, but they weren't dry enough yet. She almost put them on anyway. "Are you alright?" She asked, her tone hesitant and confused like she felt. She knew she didn't hurt him. Had she done something or touched something she shouldn't have?

Arthur kissed her back, and it was the most intense thing that had happened to her so far in her life! She forgot where she began, and the kiss ended. His taste, the way he took over her senses, and the strength that made her feel bold all filled her as she tasted him and explored him in a way that she'd never done before.
He broke the kiss, resting his forehead on hers. He spoke of never having the opportunity to kiss her like this, and she smiled from his tease; even as his kiss once again make her have to use her lips for something else. And oh! She didn't mind at all! Guinevère moved even closer, turning so that she was almost in his lap now, as she sought to get a better angle for the kiss.
Her hand was already out of the blanket, but she felt her grip loosen until it almost fell. The blanket hung there around her shoulders, forgotten, as she rested her free hand on his neck during the kiss. Her other hand still held the blanket together, but not as tightly as she had for the kiss was making her forget they were both bare under the thinning blankets.

He tried to explain to her what they needed to do. She knew that it would help inspire the people, the knights, the ones fighting. She knew seeing Arthur there would spark a chain reaction that would lift the kingdom from this terror and to hope. She knew this--but she wasn't sure she could do this.
"The last time you went into battle, I never saw you again," she told him, remembering the fear, and brokenness she felt when she was told he was gone. He had hidden out into battle to fight Morgana, and Mordred had killed him. She had been in Camelot. They'd gone from thinking him missing to hearing ht was dead. Merlin had taken the body, and she'd not been able to so anything. No burn him, or build a tomb for him. "I cannot loose you again."

Merlin. SHe didn't know this name, but in the larger theme of things that wasn't a detail she was worried about. What she was worried about what the prince of Camelot thought he was under a spell. She knew that he could be. She knew that magic users attacked sometimes, and it wasn't unheard of. Yet, it was nothing she'd seen before! She didn't know if she should believe him or if she should run for help because the Prince was confussed--yet would a spell not explain why he was confussed?
She glanced at the door, but then back at him. She'd promised him not to tell, and she knew she had too. Even if this was more then she was ready to believe. "I don't know a Merlin." She told him, since he was clearly needing to see the man. He'd asked twice about him now. "Is he someone important in . . . your time?"
"How many years has it been since the Great Purge?" He thought he was from 5 years in the future?! Gwen didn't ask about the future--about herself, or if Morgana was a princess by then), because she didn't really know if she believed it. It was so . . . . hard to believe. "Later this year we shall be celebrating the 20th year of magic being gone!" She told him, glad to be of help, and a little glad to talk about something normal! ". . . Well, not gone," she corrected, since he thought he was under a spell. "I wasn't calling you a lair, my lord!" She added, "But mostly gone."

His father was not someone Guinevère was friendly with, but even if they were the same rank she doubted they would be friends. She didn't think he was doing to best he could. He was only doing the best for him. "Your father loves you, Arthur." That was true, "and he knows that you will heal better with rest." Uther was many things, but he did love his son. Even if he didn't know how to best show it.
Arthur almost fell, and her arms moved to help him gain his balance. He was growing frustrated with himself already. Guinevère reached for both his hands, and held them to make him stop. Leaning forward she kissed him, a slow but light kiss. She hoped is distracted him enough that he could not get frustrated in this moment. "When you fell, you caught yourself on the desk." She reminded him, her lips close to him. "Don't think about it. You've reached into the drawer countless of times in the dark." If this had been permit, then he'd have to relearn. Yet since it wasn't she could help him calm himself enough to look for the key. "Kiss me, and get your key." His eyes would have been closed for that anyway, maybe it would help him think less.
If you had to be locked in your room for a few days, they could make the most of this time.

He embraced Percival before the kngiht left. She knew leaving her here had been hard for him, but that he was of better use to help make sure the battle ended in their favor. With Merlin out there, this could not end as badly as sh had once assumed it might. "I must go out there," Her body turned cold, when he had just warmed it with his kiss. No! "Let's go out together, and see this battle ended." No.
She'd been Queen for five years now, and she was comfortable giving orders. "No," she told him, her heels digging into the ground, as if bracing herself for him to attempt to walk away from her. Though she knew if he wanted too, that she'd be hard pressed to stop him. Strong she might be, he was a warrior. He'd trained for years and was considerably stronger then her. "No, word will spread. You are safer here." The last battle he had ridden into, he had never came out of. She hadn't even been given a chance to say goodbye! She'd been given a ring, and a promise that Merlin was going to try and save him--only to have Merlin return with tears in his eyes! She'd never been able to see his face one last time. Never been able to have that.
And she was going to make sure it didn't happen again.

Their promises seemed to have removed some unknown barrier between them. Before, every kiss or touch was light and tentative. They were real and made her heart sing . . . but they did not warm her body. They did not make her blood move faster, and a awareness between her thighs begin to awaken. She forgot to breathe for a moment as his arm went around her blanket covered body and pulled her closer. She forgot to breathe as he tilted his kiss turned deeper and his tongue explored her mouth, and her's in return.
Breaking the kiss she inhaled sharply, while look up at him, seeking to catch the breath that had been lost to her. "You've never kissed me like that before." Then again, their kisses before had been stolen ones. Born of emotion or desperation. Now they were for the promise that one day they would be together. In every day. Her fingers brushed his hair back from his face and she leaned her face closer to his, to kiss him again. The same heated open mouth kiss as he had given her before. Only thing time, she let her tongue explore his mouth as well. And he tasted like everything she could imagine.

Magic. He was under a spell. One he didn't want to tell his father bout it. It was the most that she'd ever heard him speak about his father, and it was about how he didn't agree with her father. Not using so may words, but it meaning was clear. She wasn't sure how she felt about knowing he disagreed with Uther's handling of magic. At least in this case.
Guinevère moved her cup to sit on the table, and tried to take all this in. He knew it was magic, and instead of seeking it out to kill it he wanted to understand why it was done. It was very unlike his father. She . . . . approved. Not that her approval mattered, but she liked that he wanted to know more, and wasn't ready to just react. "For, I have lived for years beyond what is present." She grew still, even as he assured he that he knew she wasn't apart of this. He had lived for years beyond this time? . . . . . she wasn't sure she understood what he was saying. He was from another time? A time yet to come?
She knew she needed to say something, as she sat there staring up at the prince. He was just leaning there on the table. After saying he was under a spell. "You are . . . " How did she even say the words. The sounded too absurd to say. After another silent moment she tried again, "A spell made you come here?" She asked, trying to ask something. "From where? . . . or when?"

He promised that his heart was her's as well; and it made her smile! It made her fell happy, and warm, and loved! HSe believed it! She believed that meant the words! "And I promise you, the day will come." She knew that it could be years from now! That it could end up being ten years from now! Yet she knew that 10 days or 10 years--she'd wait for him. She'd be sad for the life they could have had, but even more then that she would be grateful for the live they COULD then have!
"Where I would have the honor of calling you my wife." His wife! She smiled and laugh softly, the joy her eyes at his words. Then he leaned forward and kissed her! Her face titled as she leaned to met him half way! Arthur's kisses always warmed her, and made her heart beat faster--but this kiss. This kiss was different! She wore nothing but a blanket, and her whole body warmed as she reminded herself of that! Her hand slipped out of the blanket, forgetting to look to see how much it opened (though she didn't feel much of a chill, so perhaps the blanket didn't open much) and her palm touched his face as they kissed.
And it was perfect!

Magic. Sorcery. Gwen sat up straighter in her seat at his words and her eyes widened a bit. She'd never seen magic up close. Not real magic. "Someone has used magic on you?" She asked, wondering if that explained why he was so confused recently. Maybe he didn't have control of somethings? Where he was? She was even more intrigued then before--and confused. Where he was? She had thought that he would be confused on who he was.
"Where you are? You mean like . . . you don't know you are in Camelot?" Gweninvere found herself leaning forward a little, trying to understand. "You should tell the king." She said, looking at him, and forgetting for a moment to use his title. "Your father would know what to do." She had faith that Uther would make sure he son was alright! He would find the source and rid it from Camelot.
Something else just happened to come to her, moments after she spoke of the king. "Yet, instead you told me?" She whispered, seemingly trying to sort out the why. "I . . . I didn't use magic, my lord." She hastened to add, just in case.

Arthur held out her chair for her, and she was surprised. She hestitated for a moment before moving to sit in it. Guinevère watched as he--NO! Gwen! Gwen watched as he then offered her water while he poured a glass. She was about to decline, but he handed it to her. "Thank you," she said slowly and with a bit of surprise, not sure how to react to him being so nice to her. It was unlike him. He was a prince, and had never thought about a servant like that. Perhaps a lady, when he was trying to be charming, but never a servant. Never her.
"Anything you tell me, I will believe." She promised him, not sure what he planned to say but she was ready to try and help! Besides, it wasn't as if she had much choice. He was going to be king one day! His word was law now and would be then! She only hoped that he would settle a bit before then. Grow with age. That way when Morgana married him, he was better for her! His Pendragon good looks and her le Fey beauty would make beautiful heirs! She only hoped they found love! She wanted Morgana happy!
How wonderful would it be if Morgana and Arthur fall in love!!!

There was a good chance! She softly exhaled in relief at that, knowing that they could handle this for a few days! Arthur would take this hard if it had been forever, but she could help him for a few days. Even distract him fromt he waiting. "A few days is not so long to wait," she tried to give him hope. His hand sought out her's and she moved her hand to where he could find it. Her fingers tightening over his.
"What of the people?" They were strong for their prince. Worried but until they had a reason to fear, they weren't thinking of the worst. "Despite your father's best effort, they know you are injured. They do not know how, but in a few days they will see there was nothing to fear!" Arthur had been injured before! And he was strong! He would over come this, and one day it would just be a memory. "Your father is keeping this from them. He does not want anyone to know your injured." He seemed to think this make Arthur weak. Nothing about Arthur was weak. Uther didn't understand how this trail could make him stronger for the effort!

Guinevère watched him as he moved around to face her. He looked into her face and then---and then he kissed her! Her heart beat harder, and she felt the kiss in her fingers and toes and most importantly her heart! Arthur! It was Arthur! No one could know just how to kiss her like that! Only Arthur ever could make her feel this way! She knew it now! She knew it was her husband!
He slowly broke the kiss, and her eyes stayed closed for a moment. Slowly they opened to look up at him s he spoke of trusting her heart! Stepping closer to him, she stretched to her toes to kiss him once more! This kiss wasn't as gentle, but one born of the joy of seeing him again, and the ache of missing him for a year! It was stronger, and when it ended she lowered to her toes. It was clear in her face: she believed him. "You're here," she breathed, still in surprise and shock.
Which also brought on the fear that she could loose him again in this battle! Turning to look at Percival she spoke. "Lead the men. I will stay here with my husband." Percival looked between them, before giving her a nod and turned to hurry out.

Arthur didn't look back at her right away, but instead continued to look at their boots, thinking about her words. "I know I can't ask you to wait for me," He didn't need too! She would always wait for him. He looked at her, making his next words seep into her and give her such hope that she smiled ever so softly when he said them. "But know, that I will not marry another." Nor would she. She loved him, and needed him to know it.
Which is why she held his gaze, so he would know she meant her words. "You are worth waiting for, Arthur," she began, "My heart is yours. Today, tomorrow, years from now. Whether I wait for you, or we are together it will not change." While she had loved another, she had come to see that there was different loves one could have. With Arthur, it was this love that made her love herself as well as him. She liked who he was with her, and liked who she was with him. They made each other better, to think beyond what they had thought before. Unlike other loves they weren't loud or boastful, or in born from satiation. They grew together. Slowly more every day. "You do not have to ask it of me, but I will wait for you. You will be a good king . . . and one day, a good husband." One day.
