Victims? She inhaled slowly but deeply at his words. He thought she had victims?! Maybe she was wrong before, maybe she still had the ability to feel things really deeply because right there there was an anger growing in her that she couldn't explain the heat from! How dare he look at Helios' forced wife and ask her about HER victims! How dare he make her anything like these people!
She could feel the churning her belly at the words! She had no victims here! SHE was the victim here! Helios had taken her form her home and then taken her to his bed! EVERYTHING had been taken from her and this . . . . this devil of a man who was no better then her husband now thought her to have victims?! "You were sent to guard the tower, not speak." She told him, anger in her tone. She wanted to hit him! She wished his mother never met his father.

His words stung! She blinked, and paused for a moment--but not because they were true, but because being compared to the men here, to Helios was the worst thing she could imagine. "Do not stand there and pretend you have honor." She bit out in a low voice, her tone clearly hurt. "You play his games. You must be good at them to earn favor enough to be trusted here." To be trusted to make sure others didn't escape the hells that he favored.
Her own games? There was something about the wording that wouldn't leave her mind. Though she didn't know what. She did not play games with the men, for she knew it was her life and theirs if she did. Yet the idea of risking it all wasn't one she'd never had before. She only never had someone worth the risk.
And now, she was being accused of play with the men here as if she belonged! Yes, she knew she'd hate this one! His arrogance and his pretend honor. Helios' pretty minion.

Damnt he man. She didn't like his loyalty. She hated it, and she knew she'd hate him given any time with him. Yet she had no intention of making this easy for him. "So you intend to watch me?" She asked, taking a slow step toward him with each word she spoke, "As I sleep?" She would not allow him in the room while she slept--it was awful enough that Helios took his pleasure, she would not let him do it. Though it would displease her husband to be cuckolded. That alone made her words take a turn she'd not expected. "When I bathe?"
Even though she'd just stepped out of her bath, she moved toward him and it, as if she would be climbing in once again. "While I seek comfort alone in bed?" She asked, stepping around him int he last moment to take a slow circle around him. She missed the days when this would have made her blush. Now she felt so far from the girl she'd been she doubted anything could make her feel good. She doubted anyone's touch would make her feel safe. "While I tend to the aches that grow in me?" She asked to his back as she came back around him to stand before him.
She knew that if Helios even thought another touched her he would make such an example out of that man. He'd most likely kill her if he thought she allowed it. Maybe she was playing with fire, but it was all she had left. Her father was dead. She was a prisoner of a man she hated and he enjoyed his nights with her. Slowly killing her each night he joined her. "What would your master say?!" She pretended to be surprised.
Yes, she missed the girl she once was. These bitterness, and these words should never had belonged in her mouth.

She gave him a tight smile but said nothing else right away. In truth she was disappointment, and angry! She knew that he wouldn't disobey--Helios trained his men to fear him and be loyal to death (by which they knew it was death to betray him, not that they would so willingly die for him). Even still, she always hoped that she'd find someone to drop their guard or want out as much as she did. Turning from him she put the wine down and stared at it for a moment, trying to keep her bitterness from turning to disrepair.
She hated it here. She almost rather die then let Helios touch her again yet she couldn't during herself to drink a poison and let go. It wasn't in her to give up. She needed to find a way to be free! Guinevère turned back to look at the warrior, and her eyes took in his body. She didn't hide it, she hoped that it made him uncomfortable. He looked strong, and his face had these angles that she liked on him. His eyes should have seemed too bright for his face but they just fit so well in there. "Then you can stand outside my door and twiddle your thumbs away." She told him, trying to see if he was at least dumb enough to turn his back on her long enough to escape.

She wanted the trow the cup at his head! More for the sake of Helios then the man. She knew that most likely he had once been someone like her, but for him to move up the ranks of her husband's army then it meant he was good at what Helios had all his men doing--killing. Ruthlessness. She turned her head to finally look at him and she paused for only a second. He was handsome. More so then the others who came to watch over and make sure she did not escape.
So her husband was gone and he'd picked this one to make sure she stayed 'safe' in her tower that she wasn't allowed to leave. Turning to face him fully, she leaned on the table and took a sip of her wine. "So he though so little of you that he would give you the job of babysitting his wife?" She asked, testing the waters for the man's loyalty. She was always on the look out for someone who could be turned, and used--someone weak perhaps that she could escape from under.
Sadly no such men were ever given the job of watching her, but she always tried.

Guinevère ignored the knock. She cared not which of his minions that Helios sent this day, or the next. She wanted nothing to do with them, or this place. It was only another man proving his worth by the killing. She stood up from her bath, and let the water drip from her, as she turned to pick up a drying cloth. Once dry she dressed, forcing the knocker to stand out there more. He could knock again for all she cared. She wasn't going to hurry to please her guard of her jailer.
Knowing there was a chance the knocker would ignore her ignoring of him, Guinevère moved behind the changing screen to dress in the clothes that Helios offered. It was dark purple, a color she'd once loved and longed to wear. When she first wore it years ago she had felt named under the sheer cloth that did nothing to hide her body. Now she was used to it.
She had just pulled on her bottoms when the door opened. It angered her that Helios and the men thought so little of her that they'd just enter. "What?" She bit out from behind the screen, before making sure she was covered and walking out. She ignored him, walking instead to pour herself a glass of wine--the only thing that eased her anger.
What little it could.

Guinevère was born the daughter of a small town blacksmith and a maid in a knight's house hold. When her mother died they moved to another small town where her father would be the only blacksmith, thus giving them more income. Fate continued to show favor to others when her brother left town to seek adventure and was never heard from again. Later, her father would be killed when he was accused of magic that he did not use. And, as if the young Guinevère did not have enough of reason to loose her once outwardly happy persona; war came. Not in the form of great battles, but in the form of a war lord named Helios.
He raided towns and killed the weak, forcing the strong to serve him. Guinevère was spared for her beauty, and eventually Helios--who was charmed by the willingness she pretended to save her life--married her. Though, Guinevère also knew it might have had something to do with the baby she would have given him. He wanted a son. She wanted out of this life. In an escape attempt she was caught in a raid once again and she lost the baby before it could be born.
It's been three years since that night, and still Guinevère takes measures to assure that she will not give him any child. Herbs that will make sure no seed of his will give him that power over her once again. Bitter, but silent in her hate, she is trapped in this life. Wishing him dead. Helios keeps guard on her now. Both to make sure she is safe now that he is aiding Morgana in war, and to make sure she does not disappear. Helios, having grown fond of his wife and the idea of a child, waits for the day she gives him one. Guinevère, having grown to hate him, waits for the day he rots.

Guinevère felt his face on her's and the way she still remembered him doing that filled her with an emotion that was both painful and comforting. She didn't want him to move away, but she wanted to be in their chambers as well. Arthur shut the door once they were in and then he seemed to pause and look around. It was much the same. A few small things moved, but more out of need then any real effort. This was her comforting place. The Kingdom had moved on, and there was so few signs that he was still around in the kingdom--she couldn't take him from their room at the same time.
As a queen, she had to be strong for the kingdom; but as a wife she'd not even tried to move on. How did one move on when their husband had taken their whole heart with him? When Lancelot had died--both times--she'd been sad. Heartbroken. Yet it wasn't the same as when Arthur died. She'd died a little then too.
"I know that a kingdom cannot morn a king forever, that in order to survive it has to move on." No matter how beloved he was. Turning to face him fully, she finished. "But as a wife I wasn't ready." And honestly, she never would. Stepping closer, she reached her hand out to take his. "I wanted so much from a life with you. I wanted to grow old together, and have children together, and raise a kingdom together. I wanted see the day when a younger knight finally out trained you, and watch Merlin get you railed up about it. I wanted to see you hold our baby. I wanted to . . . . I wanted a life time."
"I still want all that, Arthur. With you. Even if you . . . " Again, "I only want it with you!"

Guinevère laughed softly at his teasing, calling himself lucky to be able to please her. "Should it not be how lucky I am, to be the wife of such a man who would work to please his wife just show?" Her fingers continued their moment over his skin, and then began to trail lower as he asked how he pleased her. Besides just being himself in their bed? She knew of the millions of little things that he did so effortlessly that it built into this all consuming passion--yet how to describe that?
Her fingers stopped just under his belly button, spreading out to rest above where his belly narrowed and lead to his cock in a teasing manner. Her face tilted up to be able to kiss his jaw line. "I think my husband is looking for a complement, and that is my answer--I love how confidently he moves. How stronger his touch it, and yet how I never feared it's strength."
:The man who slays dragons, and wins jousts--gentle to me." She loved the contrast. "And how happy I feel just laying here with you . . . or touching you." She added on, her fingers moving just slightly down while still not taking him into her hand.

Guinevère Stayed close to him at all times. Out int he battle she held his hand, and even when she needed to let him go in order to allow them both to tend to the kingdom, she stayed close. Kept her eyes on him. Kept half her attention on him. She believed it to be Arthur--even if that might be foolish, she believed. With her whole heart. She'd know him anywhere and she did.
On the field of battle, she'd seen him at command. With the council she'd watch hims diplomaticy, and with the injured she'd seen his face that held more then his words would ever express. She knew it too be him.
As everything slowly settled, and everyone sought their beds to rest so that tomorrow they could begin rebuilding the city, and strengthening their walls; Arthur and Guinevère went to . . . their chamber. "If it is too much, Guinevère . . . I understand." It was the first they'd had a chance to speak. They'd spoke of Camelot with the council, but this was not about the kingdom. She knew he meant him coming back from the dead. "It is. I fear if I fall sleep I will awaken to find this a dream. That if I turn from you to even change my dress that when I look back the room will be empty. I cannot count how many mornings I awoke and reached for you, only to remember you weren't there." She told him, reaching up to touch his face to help her remember how REAL and WARM and ALIVE he felt. "I've missed you."

She loved it when he held her hand, and just let their hands rest together. It was such a casual thing to do, and she longed for such things. Guinevère smiled at him, taking this time to memorize his face since he could not tease her for staring so at him. She'd always believed him to be handsome, but it was more then his looks now. It was HIM. His heart, and his bravery, and his kindness. They all made her think more more handsome then before. More everything then before.
When he declined her offer to stay in bed, Guinevère paused. He showed no signs of fear or worry--but she knew him well. Arthur rarely denied her anything she asked for. She wondered if he didn't wish to move around the room. Had this been for more then a few days she would have pushed. Yet right now, she did not. "You wish me to lie in bed with you?" She asked, her voice teasing but pleased. "And what shall we do there?" Slowly leaning forward she knew he'd feel the bed shifting as she moved in to brush her lips softly over his before kissing his cheek.

Gwen walked into the lower cells holding a tray of food. She paused and conversed with the guard there, someone who was not a knight but no one she recognized. Clearly someone Morgana and her . . . her sister had paid or enchanted to work for them. Morgana had crowned herself queen of Camelot. Morgana, along with a sister, had taken over the kingdom and locked Uther away. Gwen supposed that it was good that they had not killed him, instead.
Morgana, knowing that Gwen loved Arthur, still kept Guinevère close. Offered her a role in all this. Gwen was playing along for now, but knew she needed to find a way to help Arthur. Which was what shew as doing now. She need to help his father.
Once she was allowed to pass, she entered the cell and paused to take in Uther. "I've brought you some breakfast, and some water," she told him, taking a small step closer toward him.

Guinevère, or Gwen to most, moved around the room and tidied a few things. The room was mostly clean, but she tried to put a pot of flowers here, or there. She tried to bring some cheer to the room. Looking at the man sitting in the chair, she paused while lost in though. His back was too her, so she wasn't worried he'd notice--not that he noticed much these days. Uther Pendragon was nothing like the titian he was before. Once she had barely seen him as a man. He was a title, a king. He was untouchable, and for good or not he was her king.
Uther had been fair to her in her youth, but after her father was killed she'd never felt the same for him. She respected the crown, and was loyal to it, but it had been a troubled feeling. Her love for the other Pendragon, was what had softened it. Until he had banished her for loving Arthur. She knew Arthur loved his father, but she did not.
Now, she felt sorry for him. Morgana had broken him, and Uther didn't seem to recover. Even weeks later. Walking around to stand before him she spoke up, "Are you hungry, my lord? Can I fetch you some lunch?"

"Yes, they came together," she agreed that it was the people and not the plan, "Because they believe in you." She told him, knowing that it was true. Gwaine didn't fight for a kingdom, or a king. He fought for his friend. Merlin fought because he believed in Arthur as a friend and king. Percival didn't know him, but he'd believed in the Prince. Believed in the good Arthur would do. Her brother believed in Arthur as a friend, and knew that one day he would support Arthur as a brother as well. Arthur had fought for Lancelot's right to be a knight long ago, and had Lancelot's loyalty since then. "They came together because of you. They stay for you." Yes, some of them wanted to be knights, but not all of them. They were here for him.
She'd loved seeing her brother as a knight! Watching him ride up to her in the red cape at been one of the most amazing things she'd ever seen. Speaking of amazing things, "You wish you saw it," she teased. Yet she also felt the need to say, "He stayed loyal to your father and you even knowing it would cost him his life." She respected Sir Leon, and after seeing his strength she did so even more. Leon was one of the knights who went to fight the dragon with Arthur, and they had thought died.

His question was understandable but also . . . she couldn't well give him an good answer. Instead she kept her smile in place and encouraged him to relax. "There you go, just rest back a bit," She didn't let go of him, but her hands softened, and her grip was more friendly then trying to keep him in bed. She looked at the screen with his vitals before looking back at him. It was normal he'd have a higher heart beat after waking, but she wanted it to calm as much as possible.
"My name is Gwen Leodegrance, I'm a doctor here." She told him, and her hands moved from him slightly; still ready to hold him in bed if needed. She shifted to sit on the edge of the bed, to keep things friendly. "You're in the hospitable. You were found by the lake. You've been here a few days. You're body needed time to heal, but there dose not seem to be any major damage done." She told him, keeping her voice pleasant and her cadence calm. "It's normal to be disoriented when walking up. Take a few deep breaths."
Reaching for her stethoscope she watched him. "Can you tell me the name of four objects in the room?" She asked, using a tried but true method of calming people down. 4 things you can see. 3 things you can touch. 2 things you can smell. 1 thing that you hear. It helped ground them, and make them focus on more then the panic they were feeling.

Guinevère inhaled deeply trying to catch her breath. She turned her head to the side trying to get her bearings but then he pulled from her, making her gasp softly as she turned to look at her husband again. He was so handsome in this moment, with his disheveled appearance, and that expression on his face. She'd never quite seen it before, and she smiled meaning to laugh slightly at the giddiness of the moment, but they turned into a few tears. She'd never been this happy or close to him and it was beautiful! "I love you," she returned his words and kissed over his face. "I'm so glad it was you," that they waited, and he had taken his for the first time.
His hand touched her hip, and she followed suit, waiting to touch him everywhere as well. Her breathing was slowly slowing, and she could feel her skin tingle everywhere still. Lifting her hand she wiped her cheeks as the tears still fell, but her smile was back on her lips. "Today, and especially tonight, is the greatest day of my life." She told him, wanting him to believe it. Wanting him to know it. That she wanted to be with no one else, and no where else but in this moment with him for the rest of her life.
Though, there was one thing that needed to be said, and she felt the moment was fitting to say it. "I finally understand why you pulled away from me," she told him, teasing him, "that night in the inn."

His kiss never failed to take her breath away, and Guinevère almost forgot what she'd ask him to do. Yet, when she broke the kiss there was the key, even if he'd found it fumbling. Smiling she reached out to touch his wrist and slide her fingers up to take the key from him. He'd given her a key! To his chambers! "It will never leave my side." She promised, for two reasons. One, she liked knowing that any time she felt it in her pocket or around her neck that she could come see him--and two, she would never leave it somewhere so that someone with ill intent could get to him.
"I know a kiss will not distract you from everything. That this is hard for you, but they said only a few days!" She tried to keep the hope and smile on his face. "So until then, I will be your eyes when I can," and help him do whatever he needed to go. Her fingers slipped her fingers up his wrist, until just the tip of her fingers were under his sleeve. Touching him where his shirt covered. "Lets get you out of bed. We can sit at the table or before the fire together. I will not be missed for a while." She might, but nothing could pull her from his side right now.
She wasn't sure what they could do, since he couldn't see, but moving around might help him rest better later. Help him feel normal??

"No.." He spoke in a calming tone. Lancelot always had that easy cadence in his voice. It was strong and soothing, yet this time she didn't want his comfort. She'd done nothing to earn it from anyone. She'd betrayed and hurt both men of honor. Lancelot had wanted to be a knight for years, and when he'd finally done it she'd caused him to forget his honor. He reached for her, and she almost moved back but he took the forgotten dagger from her. Her hands loosened and let him. She had no need of it around Lancelot. Weaponless, she wasn't afraid of harm coming to her. Only to her heart.
Once he's taken the dagger from her, she wasn't sure what to do with her hands. She felt the need to make them do SOMETHING. Folding them together she held them. "It really isn't. I knew how much you loved Arthur and how we couldn't be together. I don't know what came over me." Nor did she. Odd how they both couldn't explain what had happened that night. Those days. It hadn't just been one night where she lost her head in the moment. It had been over a day.
His words made her think again of his honor. Even now he wore it. He would always put her first, and take the blame. She'd done this too him. He never would have acted if she'd not done it first. "Then we share the fault, though not equally." She told him not wanting to argue, but nor should he take the blame. "I asked you to take care of Arthur," and she hadn't asked a knight to look after a king--she'd asked Lancelot to look after Arthur. One was expected of duty, and what she'd asked of him was hurtful. She never should have asked that of him. "And you died, and I knew why you'd done it. You did it because I asked you too. Then you came . . . and I was glad you weren't dead. I should have been stronger."
She also had not missed how he said 'you loved Arthur'. Past tense. But her it wasn't. Arthur might not want to see her, but to Guinevère he was still the man she loved more then herself. Which made her feel guilty for standing here with Lancelot when being with Lancelot was what had caused Arthur to send her away in the first place.

Gwen slowed as she was behind him, noticing how broad his shoulders were. Her fingers moved to take his measurements, and her fingers ended up brushing over him as he turned to look down at her, "You do?" he asked, and for a moment she thought, yes I do. Yet he was a stranger in a way still, even if she felt at ease around him. A comfort that felt natural. She wondered if she'd get a chance to get to know him. Learn what made him want to be a knight so badly, that he would risk his life for it.
"Not me personally!" She over corrected her voice slightly higher and faster then before. Her cheeks warmed slightly from the blush. "Camelot!" She explained more, even after her first explanation was clear enough. "We all do," she did such things when nervous. Spoke too much, or explained too much. And she was a little nervous, because she did want him to like her. He'd kissed her hand and spoken to her like what she had to say mattered. It was different then what she was sued too from knights. She'd once told Merlin that she liked ordinary men--but Lancelot didn't seen ordinary. He seemed something more.
