.:Name of Character:. Princess Sevira of Caernarfon, Daughter of High King Magnus Maximus, Western Emperor Governing ‘Britain’ (what would be France, Germany and Spain) .:Nick Name:. N/A .:Age:. 16 .:Race:. Welsh, Father born in Hispania, Mother in Wales at Caernarfon Castle .:Status:. Royalty
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. Tall for her sex, Sevira has always viewed herself as less than desirable because of her brother's teasing as a girl. She has since grown into her looks and her body, though she does recognize that her height makes her unsuitable for most of her suitors. She's generally forthright in her own defense, quick with her tongue or when that isn't possible a visual queue from her eyes makes her emotions known, though she's learned to be careful to maintain the visage of a lady while doing so. Her hair is honey colored and grows lighter when exposed to the sun during the summers; however she's equally careful about exposure knowing that she must compensate for her height with fairness. Her eyes are bright and earthy, revealing intelligence and a sense of humor. She's enjoyed hunting and hawking and archery so she's relatively athletic though she'd never presume to consider herself an athlete as those activities are simply something she enjoys and was taught. In terms of dress, when in court she is well known for wearing the best and most elaborate of costumes. Her favorite colors lean toward the jewel tones, the blues and greens of the ocean she adores are favorites. Despite her height or perhaps to compensate for it, she moves with grace and her hands and feet appear dainty and elegant whenever possible. .:Height:. 5'6" .:Portrayed by:. Dianna Agron
| ~ • ~ | Personality | ~ • ~ |
.:Personality:. She isn't naturally a shrinking violet though she has been threatened with a raised hand or stick often enough to have learned that often holding one's tongue is advisable. She doesn't necessarily enjoy the idea of being considered property or second to men but she acknowledges it fully. She wants to surpass the matches of her siblings and further recognize the greatness of her father's accomplishments with those of her own through marriage. Blessed by a failed engagement contract, the young man died when she was twelve, she's privately vowed to seek love and nothing less - even if she knows she may not have a say in the matter. She can be idealistic and curious; reading is one of her favorite pastimes. When angered she does possess a sharp tongue, often using another's shortcomings to prime effect otherwise any comments she makes in regard to others is usually an attempt at humor. She'd like nothing more than to find love and to enjoy the happiness of her people. .:Strengths:. intelligent, fair minded and forthright. .:Weaknesses:. overly concerned with her looks, her sharp tongue, her pride and vanity in terms of what she expects from life. .:Magic Abilities:. None. .:Special Skills:. She can sign her name and make sense of the written word well enough that reading has become a favorite way to pass the time. She is better in drawing and often uses time spent resting horses to visually document her travels. She can sing and play a harp. She loves to cook and takes personal pride and responsibility in a household's running and meal planning. She is not so talented with a needle and thread, lacking the patience or desire to become expert. In fact she stopped sewing the moment her tutors told her that her skill set was 'passing fair.' She is much better with a bow and arrow. She carries a jeweled dagger but when she brandishes it is largely just for show as if pressed she'll just poke at the threat ineffectually and probably end up dropping it in the process. She likes riding horses though her experience of riding alone makes such a prospect dangerous. Thanks to her father's many travels she has been exposed to different languages and cultures. .:Accents:. Upper Class English though accented with traces of Welsh and Hispanic influences.
| ~ • ~ | History | ~ • ~ |
.:Birthplace:. Caernarfon Castle, Wales .:Family:. Flavius Magnus Maximus Augustus, father; Elen, mother; older brother Flavius Victor, older sister to be married to Ennodius. Grandfather High King Eudaf (deceased). .:Occupation:. Princess .:Current Location of Residence:. Split between Caernarfon Castle and Treves/Trier, Augusta Treverorum, Capital of Gaul .:History:. Her father was born for bloodshed and battle. Hailing from Hispania he studied and rose to the rank of General within the Roman Emperial Guard. He married the woman of his choosing, a beauty from a noble family from Wales after having a dream about her and her aging father, High King Eudaf. She would bear him three surviving children, a son and two daughters. Two other sons would perish due to the rigors of the time, illness and of travel. One daughter, their eldest, would fall victim to a failed ransom preceding a battle against fleeing Emperor Gratian near what would one day be Paris. In time Magnus would become acknowledged as the Western Augustus after defeating an invasion of the Picts and Scots and securing rule of Britannia(France and Spain) and Gaul.
It was into this world of dreams, ambition and bloodshed that Sevira came to be. Whenever her father traveled, she still found herself surrounded by his soldiers, by men prone to war and fighting. She understood them and accepted this life as the way men were. She grew up watching her older siblings learn their roles and knew that she would be expected to do the same. As a small child she enjoyed pretending to play various roles, from damsel in distress to rescuing princess though in time she began to feel the weight of expectation, if not the danger in poor choices or execution. She learned what it took to be accepted and played her role well, finding pleasure in the moments she could control. Reading and music and art captured her interest if not always her heart. That she held reserved, knowing that eventually she'd marry a man several years her senior, a man who would die in the Battle of Adrianople leaving her free but without a clear cut future.
She was twelve at the time and of the mind that fate had something brighter and better in store for her than an arranged marriage. Reading stories of the Roman Gods and oral histories led her to believe that love was a cause noble and so she imagined that was what she was destined for. Though she might not otherwise have been allowed to travel to such a place outside of a contract of marriage the news of Arthur and Guinevère's betrothal piqued her curiosity and that of her mother and father. Magnus, having earned his own title through usurping and negotiation, decided to send his 'spare' daughter to Camelot in an effort to not only find her a husband but also to perhaps begin the process of forming a potential alliance in the process.
