.:Name of Character:. Morgana Pendragon
.:Nick Name:. The Witch (though more correctly "High Priestess of the Triple Goddess", which is her proper title and the only one she will accept), My Lady (although, again, to be precise she should be addressed as "Your Majesty" as she is The Queen of Camelot. Her brother and his wife are just pretenders.
.:Age:. 26 years old. Too old for a woman of her status to be unwed, too young for a priestess of her calibre to know it all.
.:Race:. Camelotian witch.
.:Status:. Noble nomad, since she is the true Queen of Camelot but has been exiled completely unfairly.... I mean... who hasn't tried to kill their little brother...?

.:Physical Appearance:. Morgana is the jewel of the Camelot court, having a natural, striking beauty that hints at the dark mysterious creature within. With long black hair, milky skin and bright blue eyes as if they'd fallen straight from the skies and into her skull with its high cheek bones and full lips, Morgana could have had any man in Briton if she so chose.
Uther Pendragon was a doting warden-come-father once upon a time, and it afforded the young Morgana the luxuries that contribute to her present day beauty; from a healthy diet keeping her frame well fed and nourished so that she could grow tall and strong, to the most beautiful dresses of precious silks to clad said body in the most flattering fashion. As a pale young woman, Morgana believes that deep, bold colours (emerald green, cobalt blue, royal purple and ruby red being her favourites) are the best way to go because pastels would probably leave her looking washed out and sickly looking. She has only rarely worn breeches, because it is not acceptable for a lady like her to wear such manly clothes! No, she is happy with long flowing dresses, (with risque neck lines when needs be). She likes to accessorize with necklaces and bracelets of precious stones and metals.........
In fact, back in the day she was the picture of perfect health and wealth.
NOW, as a nomad, she could possibly lament the loss of such luxuries as milk baths and peridot hair washes, her own maiden to dress her..... a fulfilling meal of roast duck and boar hooves... THAT IS if she didn't have more important things on her mind like... well, world domination is a bit dramatic. Albion domination? No. Total and complete control over her irritating little brother and her bony bum in the Throne of Camelot.
Now Morgana makes do with what the Goddess provides (which, don't tell anyone, isn't very much by way of material possessions!) as well as what the smaller nobles can provide for her. Nevermind, her fortunes will change once she gets her Kingdom back.
.:Height:. 5'6"

| ~ • ~ | Personality | ~ • ~ |
.:Personality:. Morgana was once a very loving and loyal child towards Camelot, its King and populace. In fact deep down she probably still does love Camelot and its populace, although that might be obscured in her almost hell bent desire to possess it. In fact, this desire is so strong that it is now the only reason her lungs draw in breath and her heart beats only long enough to see the rest of the Pendragon's hearts stop. Why? sometimes Morgana forgets the 'why' whilst she's planning the 'who', 'what', 'where' and 'how' of Arthur and his petulant man-servant Merlin's demise.
Morgana herself feels that she is a freedom fighter. In essence she feels it is her duty to return magic to the land of Camelot and allow people such as herself to live and practice magic freely. However, with deep family wounds and with each attempt of hers thwarted, the cruel intelligent streak inside of her keeps going that one more step over the line. Eventually the line will reach the throne, yes? She will not stop until she gets that throne or Emrys, the man who haunts her nightmares, stops her in her tracks.
At face value Morgana can be very charming, charismatic and even delightful for company. She can have that 'high bred' snobbish air about her, sometimes, but her heart used to be in the right place and believed every life had equal worth. Now, though, anyone who stands in her way is but an ant to be squashed. It is not possible to put "weak of spirit" and "Morgana" in the same sentence... the woman is fierce. Hear. Her. Roar.
.:Strengths:.
- Ridiculously strong in character, almost to a fault. It's landed her in the dungeon with Uther, exiled from Camelot and alone on a mighty quest to bring justice to HER land. It has however left her strong enough to survive the death of her dearest daddy Gorlois and sweet sister Morgause, even the sad death of her mother was because of Uther's greed. She is strong. She survived. Now she will MAKE THEM PAY
[/b].
- Intelligent and creative. One plot to take over a kingdom fails, nevermind, a new plot will be thought of shortly.
- If there was a red carpet event in Camelot in the middle ages, Morgana would easily get the style award. The woman knows how to style even the saddest piece of linen into a show stopper.... if she has the right seamstress, of course.
- Just and true. To herself. No one said she had to be
just to everyone else.
- Focused. Albeit on Camelot domination.... so pity those who stand in her way, for even her sweet sister was sacrificed for the "greater good".
- Dreams BIG. What's bigger than knowing you're destined to be Queen? Well, it's big by other people's standards but it is merely Morgana's
birth right.
- Cares deeply for Camelot. Morgana is not stupid, she does not want to rule over a wasteland. Some of her plots are crueller than others, but for the most part they are aimed directly at the royal court and not the general populace.
.:Weaknesses:. - Mordred. Of all the people Morgana has come across, this druid pulled at her heart strings in a way only the Goddesses would understand. Sure Morgana would grieve over the loss of her sister, but she would lay down her life for this young man. That is one big bad weakness to have.
- Obsessed with claiming the throne of Camelot. Yes, it is both a weakness and a strength because she will never be content until it is hers and the fates have already decided that she is destined to be doomed. The woman will die trying though!
Nothing else matters more to her... except of course, Mordred. Morgana would not be able to choose one over the other.
- Often unable to control her magic in times of emotional turmoil. This can be very dangerous, like dancing around in a metal suite in a wild electrical storm.
- Incredibly lonely. Morgana has no one left in this world to help her fight for her people and magic. Sure she enlists the help of other people, from kings and queens to the lowliest of serfs to further her cause... but there is no one with her. No one he trusts, except for Mordred, whole-heartedly.
- Is constantly petrified of finally meeting her doom at the hands of Emrys. She suffers from insomnia because her prophetic dreams that tortured her once upon a time seem like comedy shows compared to the nightmares that haunt her nightly, featuring Emrys.
- Has no self care skills.... which is making her new life out of court a little uncomfortable. Once upon a time, Gwen would dress her, bathe her, brush her hair.... if the bitch hadn't taken her spot as rightful Queen of Camelot, she might miss her. Now she must rely on crude maid servants and cooks that are sub-par compared to the royal chefs.
- Cannot sing to save herself. Morgana sounds like a screeching cat if she tried.
.:Magic Abilities:. Morgana is a powerful vessel of natural magic, not as strong as Merlin but certainly a worthy rival. As the High Priestess of the Triple Goddess, she has a vast knowledge of Old Religion spells and incantations. She is able to bring forth creatures from the Otherworld, tear the veil between worlds, use telekinesis, start fires, break glass with her raw magical energy. She has also dabbled in necromancy. Ultimately, given the right tutelage (for example she learnt a lot from her sister Morgause) or the right Otherworld tools, she is a very capable and dangerous Witch. She does not identify as human as she is a creature of magic, so she is more than willing to use humans as tools in her play for power.
.:Special Skills:.- Highly skilled swordswoman. Once upon a time she used to play fight with Arthur, and beat him. If she could beat him then, she has little doubt in her abilities now.... he may have gotten stronger by becoming a man, but she has the upper, magical hand. It's not cheating to use a talent that is naturally yours.
.:Accents:.High English, from a cultured life at court.

.:Birthplace:. House of Gorlois, in the kingdom of Camelot.
.:Family:. - Vivienne, deceased mother, of whom Morgana has little memory.
- Sir Gorlois, deceased father (though not biologically), of whom Morgana has the fondest memories and has deep wounds regarding his death.
- Morgause, deceased maternal half-sister, one of only two people in this world that Morgana felt a close connection and trust with.
- Uther Pendragon, deceased biological father and warden, someone she fought with daily as he continually persecuted people who used magic. She had at one time respected him as a leader that did what he believed right, even if she did not agree with him. Morgana lost all respect for him when she found out he was her father, and although she hated him deep down she loved him too which are two conflicting feelings that are hard to live with. She might have shed a tear at his death.
- Arthur Pendragon, living (much to Morgana's annoyance) paternal half-brother. They were once friends, fighting like children do (especially when they are as strong willed as they were!) but now the fight has turned deadly. Morgana only hesitates to bring about full scale war because there's no fun in being Queen to a wasteland.
- Gwen Pendragon, living (not for long!) half-sister-in-law. The whole affair disgusts Morgana... having relations with a commoner. Well, he
is that awful Uther's son.
.:Occupation:. Morgana is an illegitimate Princess of Camelot and now exiled Lady Gorlois. She considers herself the rightful Queen of Camelot and a freedom fighter. She is obsessed with the cause of bringing back the freedom to practice magic in Camelot.
.:Current Location of Residence:. Morgana is currently hiding out in the house of a minor noble in the outskirts of Camelot. She rides out every day to keep up to date with what her enemies are doing. She also keeps an eye out for the passage of Druids who might give her news of Mordred.
.:History:. The first ten years of Morgana's life were the happiest she can ever remember being. She lost her mother in her formative years but she never wanted for love and affection as her father, Sir Gorlois, more than made up for it. This was possibly why she would not make Uther Pendragon's life easy... he effectively killed her father.
Nevertheless, Morgana spent the rest of her orphaned years under the care and guidance of King Uther Pendragon. She must admit that she enjoyed her adolescent years, the jewel of Uther's court and a young crown prince as her sparring partner. Her maid servant became her best friend and life was good... Except for her night mares and the screams she heard of the otherwise innocent magic wielders. Her dreams got worse as she got older and strange things would happen without her meaning them to.
Coming of age came around the same time as this mysterious little man servant Merlin appeared in the court. She recognized something within him, although what it was exactly took a long time to find out. Her experiences with him would range widely from trusting with her life, when he brought Mordred into her life, to despising him for getting in her way. She always felt alone, though, like the only gay in the village with no one to share her experiences with for fear of her life.
Finally she found her kindred within Morgause, her sister and High Priestess, who was understanding and helped her to channel her natural abilities. She also helped Morgana find out
who she was. It was freeing, amazing and painful all in one. She felt betrayed by Uther and trusted the only person who had been kind to her... when Morgause tapped into Morgana's vengeful streak and her undeniable desire to help free
her people, it was like shaking a champagne bottle and popping the cork... Morgana was ready to explode. Morgause was the clever one and Morgana the vessel, but after losing her sister, Morgana has proved to herself that she has the smarts to do it alone. And only death MIGHT be able to stop her.

"Star light, star bright," Morgana mused softly as she drummed her fingertips lightly on the crumbling wall of the balcony. The night had just started and the stars were only now visible. She had always been fascinated by the stars and if she had the time she would dearly love to lay on her back and get lost in the sky. Morgana's fingers stopped their tapping and she wrinkled her nose which was so white it almost glowed in the moonlight. She was the only one fighting for magic in this land. Morgana no longer had the time to day dream like a little girl.
With a flurry of her scarlet coats, Morgana walked quickly back into her chambers and out into the small castle's corridors. Small rats scurried away as a little ball of light bobbed its way down the middle of the cold stone corridors. Morgana held back the bile that was rising up in her esophagus at her pitiful existence. She was actually relying on this Lord's hospitality! So were the rats! When a particularly large one just looked up at her with its cold beady black eyes Morgana stared straight back at it with her own cruel blue eyes. Then she snarled at it and it scurried away like all the others. Morgana's snarl morphed straight into a contented smile just before she entered the dining room. With her head held high and her scarlet coats displaced down her back to show off her pale shoulders, Morgana made a grand entry. As always, of course.
"Lady Morgana! How beautiful you look this evening," the Lord whimpered as she closed in on him. Morgana knew that this particular Lord was scared witless of her... Apparently he had heard some rumor about her not liking the chamber pots at her last host's place and so she had beaten him senseless with one. This rumor was of course untrue - Morgana could be cruel but such small matters did not concern her.... that much. Instead she made sure that the rumor spread like wildfire because she wanted any and all other hosts to at least be hygienic enough to keep her chamber pots clean. "I trust everything is.... To your liking...?"
Morgana smiled graciously at the man. "Of course Lord Derrick and I am completely humbled that you would offer poor little me such a grand chamber in your fine castle," at which a select few people sniggered, for only few of her present company was smart enough to realize the Princess was lying through her pearly white teeth. "I trust that I will not be too much of a burden on your estate? It is such a fine one...." which was true, as it sat ridiculously close to Camelot city, within a day's easy ride in fact. Morgana was sure however that it was decrepit enough for most people not to give it a second thought. She felt safe here, nestled in Lord Derrick's small court and surrounding farmlands.
Morgana's piercing blue eyes searched the small crowd of about 30 courtiers and servants and smiled almost warmly at them. Yes, she would make this her home whilst she plots the down fall of her spoilt blonde half brother and his poor choice in wife. Who knows, if she had the time she might even improve her little Lord's estate to make it just prosperous enough so that she didn't have to snarl at the rats on her way to dinner.
