Maeve was riding back towards Camelot. She had been here many times before and she found it to be the most risky location. With the kings harsh penalties on those who practiced magic, she knew it was dangerous being here. But that did not stop her. She had to try. She had to fight for her people, and if Camelot was the place to find those who could potentially help it, then it was work every risk she was taking by just stepping on Camelot's soil.
She was riding her graceful pure white horse, Mirshann; a word that meant 'Angel' in her language. Her hood was up hiding her pointed ears, as they would always remain hidden when she was away from her home. In Camelot, she had to be extra cautious, taking extra precaution. When she heard the sound of nearby horses, she began to follow it. It was not only the horses that caught her attention, but she sensed something. Felt something. And she found herself drawn to the source.
Then, her eyes rested on the source. A small boy, but certainly no ordinary boy. Maeve found herself overwhelmed with both his emotions and her own. She felt a strong connection to him, because he was a boy of magic. Maeve dismounted from her horse, knowing Mirshann would not leave. She began to walk over to the child, her grace making it look as if she was gliding on the ground as her cape trailed behind her.
She approached the boy, her demeanor not a threatening one. She placed her hands on the side of Neav's head and in a very soft voice, whispered Amin hin She did this right before gently kissing his forehead, as a single tear rolled down her cheek. He was a boy of magic; he had a great destiny for the was the direct descendant of Anhora, ad this was something that Maeve did not have to ask to know. Those which magic, were inevitably connected, and she felt a strong sense of maternal instinct towards this boy.

Maeve looked up when she saw a woman approach her stall and compliment her items. Maeve did not say anything right away. She looked at the woman, familiarizing herself with her through an unspoken power that could not be explained through words. She was sensing a mix of emotions from her, and while she had never met her before today, Maeve knew, that she was the Princess of Gwent. She lowered her head in a bow, but did not stand up from her seated position. Her eyes met the woman's once again.
Thank you very much, she answered politely and in a softly spoken voice. She could not say where they were from for she feared the same inhospitable reaction and disrespect for her people, which was a risk she simply could not take. She did not sense danger form this woman but she treaded very carefully when it came to protected her race.
Meave suddenly felt very compelled to give this woman something. If I can suggest something for you, she began as she looked through the different pieces. She was looking for something very specific, and something she thought would be well suited for the woman. When she found it, instinctively, she passed it to the princess. It was a necklace. It had a simple silver chain with a pendant. The pendant was three teardrop shapes, connected with a stone in the middle. Within each of these was a small wave of stones, and each of the diamond shapes possessed a different stone ( Click to see picture of the pendant! ).
Maeve began to explain the meaning of it. In druid beliefs, the trinity knot represents three aspects from one unity. Somehow, she felt that would mean something to her. The small ruby stones in the leaf shape will bring you clarity of mind and protect you from harm. The garnet stones will bring you tranquility and protect you against physical illness as well as provide you with security during your travels. And the stones that are opal in the third leaf, will bring you joy and contentment, preventing any evil from befalling you.
Maeve felt that these stones, were something that the princess needed. The diamond in the middle which joins all of these together, will give you bravery, but more importantly, it is a symbol of fidelity in love. All these stones represented different aspects of what Maeve sensed a person needed in their life. She could feel certain emotions from a stranger, and quickly assert as to what they needed. She felt like the Princess could use this, that it could offer her protection and security from others for herself.
( I was looking for an image that showed what exactly I had in mind, and I found the perfect pendant, but more ironically, the first thing it said was about Druids! I thought that was very funny and extremely ironic! ) [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Maeve had ridden into Gwent very early this morning. She took the long, scenic route to appreciate all the beauty it had to offer and the beauty was abundant. The trees....the estates...even the fertile land... it ached her heart a bit as she missed home, but at the same time, knew what she had to do in order for that home to remain in existance. So far, her perilious journey proved to be unsuccessful. She wanted...no... she needed to find someone who was willing to help. Though Camelot was not the best place to go for that, it was one that she heard about having a lot of encounters with magical beings. And that was the only reason she kept returning.
But now, she was in a new place, and for the first time too! She was excited, though calmly. There was much that needed to be done, and so she had to send those who traveled with her, to ensure her safety, back home and bid them farewell. Auta e' quel seere ar' varna. They bowed their heads and reluctantly turned around. As Maeve watched them leave, a single tear streamed from her cheek. It was getting harder and harder to watch her people go, never sure if she would see them again for the fading Old religion was heavily impacting them.
Once she saw the gates of the city she dismounted from her horse and took the single pack which contained everything she needed to set up shop. She turned to the animal and gently kissed its snout. Auta amin vellon She told him softly and the horse rode off into the woods, only to return when she specifically called for him.
She entered the marketplace. It was not too busy since most people were setting up. She picked a comfortable location, setting up a small table as she set out various pieces of jewellry and ornmanets, unique to the land. They were unique to any land for they were handcrafted by faeries themselves; actually, mostly by her. Some had stones and gems, while others were just pendants and intricate carvings. Each one had significance though and depending on who expressed interest, Maeve would suggest which was best suited to them. She lowered the hood of her cape, untucking her hair from underneath it so that it would conceal her ears which to a human, may look abnormal. And she sat, patiently awaiting a customer.

| ~ • ~ | Character Basics | ~ • ~ |
.:Name of Character:.Queen Maeve .:Nick Name:. Mab, Meave .:Age:. Physically has the appearance of a 21 year old .:Status:. Technically royalty, Queen of Faeries, but has become a nomad
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. Maeve has very delicate and soft features. Her eyes are of an ice blue color and hold a certain calmness and serenity in them. Her skin is very light and extremely fair appearing to be unblemished in any way. Her cheeks possess a natural blush to them. She seldom wears make up, this possessing a more natural beauty. Her hair is brown and very long, running well down her back and has a natural wave to it. She tends to wear it in many different ways, though the one constant is that it is always lose, flowing naturally. She also has a tall and slender build, and a very natural elegance and grace to her. The only distinctive physical trait that suggests she is of a different race, are her slightly pointed ears. She however keeps them well concealed under her hair and/or her hood from her cloak.
She dresses in very feminine clothing; wearing long dresses in many different materials, styles and colors. While she prefers the lighter shades, she will wear a bit bolder colors as well. Most of them have a unique style to them, making it look slightly foreign to Albion, and they also have very intricate work on them. They tend to flow out quite a bit, either leaving a bit of a tail as she walks, or the sleeves flow down from her wrists. As more time passes away from her home, she is slowly conforming to wearing attire that is most common to those people she is surrounded with.
When traveling she wears a long hood, covering her head and her entire body, having a strong in the front to tie and then flow open and down from the chest and lower, and also at the sleeves. She does enjoy dressing up, so will often wear jewels or flowers in her hair in addition to her fancy attire. She always has a necklace around her neck which is in a way the source of her magic and connection to her home when she is traveling at distances away from it. ((CLICK to view necklace)) The longer is is away from Mabon, the more her necklace loses its power and thus, drains her energy and magic capabilities. To restore its power, she must return to Mabon. .:Height:. 5”7’ .:Portrayed by:. Liv Tyler
| ~ • ~ | Personality | ~ • ~ |
.:Personality:. Maeve has an angelic aura surrounding her. She is a woman with a presence, though she does not purposely bring attention to herself. She is very gentle, very compassionate, and very kind. She is not overly bold and can certainly not be considered to be opinionated. She can be a bit naive, as she tends to give others the benefit of the doubt. She is very innocent, something which is oddly evident in her demeanour. She is also a very emotional woman, unafraid to express them.
Despite all of these soft personality traits, she is a leader. She leads her race, and tries to ensure their survival by any means necessary. She is compassionate and generous, and while not bold, does not express fear for anything apart from losing her people and unintentionally leading them to extinction. She is not a violent person at all, but rather the exact opposite. She does not believe that violence will solve anything and so takes a more subtle route to fulfilling her goals. She will not physically harm someone, but may mentally do so if they pose to be a threat to her or her people. .:Strengths:.
~ Very wise ~ Not impulsive ~ Empathetic .:Weaknesses:.
~ Naive ~ Emotional ~ Her fears .:Magic Abilities:. Maeve is a faery and as a creature of magic, comes many abilities. She has vast knowledge of magic and of the old ways, so can create spells, potions, and cast incantations. Like any fairy, she also has a healing power; though they can not heal every wound and sickness, they have the ability to heal most. While she has the ability to do all of these things, her strongest is the power of illusion. She can cast illusions on to other people, making them see things that are not really there. Usually she does not make them too powerful, but strong enough for the person to see it, and possibly believe it or doubt their own sanity. She can also appear to people in their dreams, but can only do this when she has something that belongs to them (something they have touched, i.e: personal belonging, footprint, etc). She is not ruthless with this power and does not abuse it. She uses it very wisely as she knows that having this kind of power comes with certain responsibilities and while it is never her intention to harm someone, she mostly does it when someone poses to be a threat. Another power is her ability to sense another person’s aura. She is not at all a mind reader, but can sense and feel emotions of others, almost like an empath. She can only make educated guesses about what has caused such things in another person, but again, does not abuse this ability. This is what makes her so emotional, because she cannot help but feel overwhelmed if another person’s emotions are very strong. It is also a good way to sense if someone has a violent streak in them thus allowing her to determine whether she is in danger around a certain person. She cannot control their emotions however, only vaguely sense them for it took her years and years of practice for her to master both this and her illusionist abilities. .:Special Skills:. Apart from her magical abilities, she can sing very well, giving a soothing and unusually calming effect on a person who really listens intently. This is just a hobby of hers, and is not connected to her magical abilities. .:Accents:. Soft English accent; her voice is very soft and she speaks in a quiet voice. It also has a certain musical tone to it, making it a bit melodic. She speaks a language native to that of Faeries as they are the only ones who understand it.
| ~ • ~ | History | ~ • ~ |
.:Birthplace:. Mabon .:Family:. Unknown .:Occupation:. Queen of the Fairy realm, when traveling she poses as a merchant selling jewellery and unique ornaments .:Current Location of Residence:. Either Mabon or traveling around; she has set up a small spot in the Camelot marketplace .:History:. The history of faeries remains unknown to strangers or outsiders. They lived, they thrived, and now, they are endangered. Maeve has been Queen for many years but as the Old Religion began to die, so did the spirit of the fairy race. More and more were killed and their power was diminishing, weakening to the very worst. Maeve cannot stand seeing her people suffer in such a way and so she travels throughout the world, searching for those who can help prevent the extinction of her kind. She is a desperate woman, willing to do anything to ensure the survival of her species. She travels from her home, often living with the peaceful druids as she will take this title and blend in with them to remain inconspicuous. She often travels with two companions: her magnificent white horse Mirshann, and the healer of her realm and warrior Haldir.
~ Mabon ~ This is the fairy realm. It is an extremely wondrous place with indescribable beauty. Everything appears to have life and is filled with vitality and color. It is luscious land, and can be easily compared to a paradise. It is very large but the residents are becoming less and less in number, now only occupied by no more than a couple hundred. It can only be accessed by faeries or by the invitation and leadership of one. It is otherwise impossibly found.
