He was going to stay with her? What a kind man! Men like this only reaffirmed her hope in the human race and that there was a positive future and stronger possibility for peace. Not everyone was selfish... and as she already believed this, he was a perfect example of further proof for other skeptics. She watched him cross the street, looking at his surroundings as well to ensure that no one would creep up on him. She may not be able to fight, or had physical strength, but she would do what she could to protect him...through supernatural means.
She did not hesitate in taking his hand as she climbed up on to the animal. Though she trusted others far too easily, she had a particular strong trust for him as he had already saved her life and furthermore, she could not sense anything dangerous about him. It was much like Alistair when she had first met him... and he had ended up saving the life of someone she cared for. She gently put her arms around him so that she could maintain her balance on the horse. She wanted to thank him for everything he had done, but felt this was not the time for it would be a rushed thank you and she wanted to properly say it to him rather than just blurt it out in a spur of the moment. Where will we be going? She asked in a soft voice, wondering if they were indeed going to a wooded area, or if he had somewhere else in mind. Either way, she did feel safe with him. So there was indeed something more with what had caused this condition. Something deeper... either emotionally or physically. She did want to find out more to see if she could be of any assistance. Even in a small way. I know that you are still recovering, so if you would prefer not answering this question right now, then I completely understand. She did not want to push her, or force her to talk when she still lacked the strength to. But hearing Felicia already speak about how the pain she was experiencing was permanent, up till death, concerned Maeve even more.
What had happened to force yourself into such a frail state? She asked in a subtle worried tone, though she made no secret to hide it; she only wanted to mask the desperation to know as the sooner she did, the sooner she could assess the situation and if she could not heal her, then perhaps her companion could. Maeve also knew she would have to consider the possibility that neither of them could help her...but as an optimist, she liked to stay positive.

Had she had some sort of warning that he was going to take her cape, she would have been more prepared. But the sudden removal of it made her aware that her ears were exposed and it was not long after that he was close to her, putting on his coat over her dress. It was to conceal the light colors she wore, for she had noticed that most people here wore more neutral colors. It was not enough for her to completely change her attire. But it was moments like these where she wished she was more ready. And judging from his quick pause in actions, and the title he gave her... she had a feeling he had seen her ears.
She quickly adjusted her hair so that it fell over her pointed ears. I do not know, She admitted when he questioned the where abouts of Mirshann. The horse was missing, and her friend was missing. She now followed his lead, silently praying that they were safe. In dangerous times such as these, one could not be too sure. I will just go to the forest, where the trees can offer more concealment. And where she would wait for them. Where are you going to go Haylen? She just wanted to make sure that he would be some place safe too, as she could not expect him to fully escort her out of the city, and kingdom as that was where she knew she would have to quickly go.

Maeve rarely lost hope, and she would not in this moment either. The crowd of the streets had been so great, she did not notice a man approach. If she had, she would have been instantly comforted. But in the moments where the men were getting closer, and closer, and it was still too public to use her magic, she was growing increasingly worried. And then, out of no where, a fire erupted right in front of her! It was too convenient to have been coincidence, for the flame increased even more after some sort of substance was thrown in it. She did not have time to take notice of what it was.
The next thing she knew, a familiar voice spoke right next to her. She turned in surprise, her eyes a bit wider than usual. It was him! A man she had encountered many years ago, and one that had been on her mind more often than a human should. She was not sure why... but there seemed to be something about him. Of course, she did not expect to ever explore this...but here he was! Haylen. She said as both a question and an attempt to accept his presence, that he was really here, saving her from these thieves. She was so relieved, so grateful that the thought of her unusual agelessness did not even appear in her mind. Not at this moment anyway.
She knew he was right. They had to leave before the fire diminished and she would put him in danger too. She silently agreed, and gently took his hand in her own. Come, she said, feeling the need to ensure his safety and she could only do this if she was able to see for herself that he would be alright, away from these violent men. She would never forgive herself if something had happened to him on her account, even if he was human. She never wished that upon any person. Though she did not run, she walked at a very quickened pace. Everyone was distracted by the spontaneous fire that it was their chance to slip away, and she moved towards an abandoned alley way, just so that they could catch their breath, pause and think, and figure out what their next move would be. She wanted to make her way out of the city but did not know what Haylen's plans were and wanted to thank him properly for saving her. [/blockquote]

Things were not going too well. She had come here as an undercover merchant, holding her bag of belongings. Unfortunately, she had crossed the wrong paths of two people she had bumped into and immediately, she could sense the hostility from them. Her belongings had fallen on the ground, and the diamonds and jewels had caught the greedy eyes of those men. They had managed to grab it first, and instead of trying to get it back, for she knew these efforts would be fruitless, she moved on. And yet, she knew she was still being followed. There was no end to greed and she assumed they expected her to have more jewelry than what they already had. All she had was her pendant necklace, something she was not willing to give to them, but they efforts to follow her led her to believe they wanted to know just how many jewels she was carrying.
She tried not to draw too much attention to herself. Her light colored cloak concealed her dress underneath, and she had the hood up, concealing her ears. That was all she needed; something else to attract attention to her. She began to glide through the crowd of people, doing her best to elude the men but they still followed. She did not know where Haldir was as she wanted to avoid using her abilities in such a public place. He was the one who carried the weapons, or at least his presence would warn off others... but he was not here, nor could she blame him. As long as he was safe, it did not matter where he was. She would have to draw these men away from the crowd and then use what abilities she could to distract them and leave without making a violent scene.
She detested violence so the more peaceful departure she could make from them, the better. But she was leaving the crowded city and they were still following. She was making her way to a more wooded area, hoping that Mirshann would come and that she could make a quick get away on him. But he was not here either. Maeve was getting worried! Tul nae amin revanthas... amin ant llie She whispered these words in a soft voice, closing her eyes to add to the concentration and summoning of Mirshann and hopefully Haldir would accompany him. And then she felt another presence...multiple ones. She opened her eyes and slowly turned around, seeing a couple of men, drawing their small daggers, preparing to kill her for whatever valuables they believed her to have.

Maeve was aware of all the traditions and myths surrounding faeries. With the way the kingdom has been in the past couple of decades, she knew that some did not even know of the true existence of her kind. It was part of the reason she was so fearful for her people. How would a race survive if everyone strayed away from the belief in them? It was her greatest fear, but not one that discouraged her or diminished any sort of hope for the future. She had not been far from the faery thing. Haldir had warned her not to leave any trace of it, but she did not mind. What could be done? Those who passed it may not even recognize it. And those who did recognize it would not set out a large hunt for the faery who left such a mark. Besides, only a few would even know what to say when encountering such a thing.
And that was when the words echoed in the air, in her mind. She heard them as a soft whisper, yet they were so clear. It filled her with so many emotions but it was not something she could ignore. It was an individual who knew enough of her kind to know what to say to a faery, to pay their respects. And Maeve had to return this favor. His gesture was kind, and it was not common at all for someone to offer a gift to the realm of faeries. It intrigued Maeve and she could not let him pass without physically acknowledging his gesture.
She emerged from the trees, dressed in her usual cloak to hide her ears, though this time, the hood was lowered and her ears were covered by her loose hair. She had nothing that showed she was not of human descent. He could believe it was a coincidence, or that he had indeed called for the attention of a faery. Maeve would not reveal too much until she found out more information about the stranger. You speak the words of a foreign tongue, She pointed out, moving towards him. Her voice was soft, but could be heard. Why do you leave a coin in the ring? She asked. This curiosity could be interpreted as a wanderer who had no knowledge of faery rings and so asked to discover the significance... or it could be interpreted as a faery wondering what the intentions of this traveler was. Again, he could interpret it however he like, the curiosity in Maeve was genuine.
( Everything is clear! Thanks for giving me the translation hahah, awesome post! And no need to apologize about how long it took! )

Maeve could fully relate to that. She wanted to tell Isadora about just how much she could relate to Alistair's actions...after all, if the Princess could love someone of magic, perhaps she would not be so quick to arrest a faery? Then again, maybe not. Maeve was very conflicted as to what to do. The Princess was being so honest and open with her and Maeve desperately wanted to return that favor. She had a feeling that before they went their separate ways, she would disclose her true identity. It sounds justifiable to a certain extent, Maeve said. While she tried not to make her opposition to the law so apparent, and did not try to save her people through violent or illegal ways... she understood those who did. It was after all how some of her kind wanted to resolve their issues with humans. She could not allow it though; war and violence would not solve anything.
It is getting harder and harder for those who have magic within them to survive without persecution. She was not trying to speak treason, even though by her just being here she was risking arrest if they were to discover the truth. She was trying to find out how Isadora felt towards those with magic. Maeve however was not too subtle and she would not use manipulation or play mind games to get this information. There was no need for that when she could ask and if the Princess did not feel comfortable enough to give that information, she would respect that. If I may ask... how is it that you came to meet him, and were able to spend such a significant amount of time with him? Enough to have led to them falling in love with each other, as that did not always happen in an instant.
I may be quick to presume this but it sounds that all of the qualities he lacks, you compensate for, and vice versa. Hearing her admit that she could not hold on to that hope, made Maeve sad but at the same time, she understood. That did not mean she wanted her to let go of the idea so quickly. My Lady, I do not believe that magic will forever be illegal. I believe that one day, people will come to accept that everyone has different abilities and that we can not change who we are. An idealistic indeed, but one had to be when trying to search for hope and hold on to that undying faith that people could change; that they could show more compassion towards one another. I can imagine it must already hurt so much now. If you do not have hope, then what is there? Acceptance is not always the right path. Sometimes, we must be more optimistic because if we are not, then we are already lost. Then there is no hope that the world can heal from all this cruelty and corruption. To give up so easily, to be so defeated.... is the greatest devastation of all. Maeve felt a few tears form in her eyes. It was a difficult topic when so much was at stake.

Maeve was most relieved to hear him say this. Though he promised that he would not punish the boy, and apologized, Maeve could sense that he was someone that Neav understandingly feared. There seemed to be a lot of anger within him, and Maeve wished she could do something to help alleviate this. But that was not within her power or jurisdiction. As much as she wanted to protect the boy, she could not change a person. It should be in their good nature to treat others properly and respectfully no matter their age and class...but this seemed to be a concept lost in todays world.
I thank you tremendously, She said in a very polite, grateful tone. She could sense that he would make true on his word...and hopefully, his emotions would not deceive or betray him. Your understanding and compassion is most appreciated. And I assure you, I will not forget this kind gesture. She meant that. If ever she could do something to help this man, she would. But right now, her priority was Neav. And to ensure his own safety...not just for today, but in general. I do not wish to keep you any longer from your duties, as you must be a very busy man. She paused, giving a gentle smile. No apology is necessary. She then decided she would need to take a chance in her next question. If she had gotten Neav in this much trouble, she did not wish to get him into any more.
Though you have shown the utmost kindness, I must ask for another large favor. Would it be possible to keep Neav from his duties tomorrow? Honesty was the best policy, and Maeve did not wish to deceive when there could be a chance she could have Neav be content and at ease when visiting her realm without that worry of having to hurry back. I realize this may put you at an inconvenience. I can bring forth someone to replace Neav for the day and I promise he will be back at nightfall. She could send Haldir, and she was certain that he would not mind. Especially if it was for someone like Neav who held such a promising future. Her voice once again had the pleading tone, though not dramatically desperate.
( that is an awesome bio!! Very fun to read! He sounds like quite the interesting man )

Maeve looked at her a with a sympathetic expression. She understood the severity of the situation....well, only to a certain extent of course. She knew that it must be difficult to love someone who did not hold a rank acceptable to those in a higher class. The entire ranking and class system was just something Maeve would never understand. Why did it have to be such an obstacle? Why could happiness not be so easily attained in this world? If it could, people would be less vengeful, less ruthless, less bitter towards one another. That was the real root to achieving peace; finding happiness. And yet, here was a Princess, in love with a man she could not be with. It deeply saddened Maeve for she knew there was nothing she could do to help, no matter how much she desperately wanted to.
Her expression became a bit more curious when she revealed that he was a druid. They were magical beings, some possessing abilities. She had something in common with them besides the bond of both being magical; they were also both hunted. The druids are peaceful people, She said, thinking about them out loud. She had known and encountered many druids... having her own affections and bonds with certain ones. But the situation was becoming more clear. With the way druids, and other practitioners of magic, were being condemned it was no wonder her relationship with the man was even more forbidden. A commoner and a druid...that would not sit well with neighboring kingdoms. And yet, Maeve could not bring herself to be less than optimistic. She always believed there was hope for everything, and was not going to discourage this idea...even if Isadora felt it was an impossibility.
Is he a fugitive because he is of a race who practices magic? Or was there something more? Her words of not being able to love anyone else, or rather, not wanting to love anyone else allowed Maeve to smile a bit. There had to be hope! You deeply care for him. She had to said it. Feeling the affection from her for him, was so refreshing after all the anger that filled most people these days. Do you believe he would make a good ruler, alongside you? Did Isadora trust her judgment in this? Maeve then suddenly realized she had been asking so many questions, and did not want to overwhelm the Princess. I ask these questions, because I feel that there is hope. That you should not be so quick to discourage yourself from the possibilities this life has to offer. She had to be an optimist. If she was not, she would have given up on humans a long time ago.

Yi. His presumption was correct in that she knew he was lying about his name. She understood why; she all too well comprehended the necessity to lie about ones identity for the mere reason of protecting oneself. But why was he here, as a merchant? He must have a purpose much like she did, and whatever it was, was a great one. Otherwise, it would not necessarily be worth this great risk he was taking but being in a place as dangerous as Camelot. It is a pleasure to meet you once again, Yi. Even if she knew that was not his name, she would once again respect the discretion he was trying to give.
She watched him pack his belongings as he offered his company for lunch. Maeve could not help but smile at the offer. It would be nice to be with someone she had met before, even if it was many, many years ago. The familiarity was comforting and something not very common, especially in Camelot. Before her kind could graze the land, free to expose their true nature and not worry over who they were talking to and live in that fear of persecution. Oh how things have changed, far too much. Thank you kindly for your offer, She began to tell him, very sincere in her words as she truly was grateful.
I would love to have lunch with you. I am rather certain we will have a great deal to discuss, She said, still giving a soft smile. I will follow your lead Yi, for I am content with whichever location you would prefer having lunch at. She did not know the places to eat here very well. She did not reside in the city, even though she wandered through it during the days rather frequently. She would trust his decision for she was not a picky woman.

Haldir ~ Healer of the Realm ~ ~ Warrior of Mabon ~ | ~ • ~ | Character Basics | ~ • ~ |
.:Name of Character:. Haldir .:Nick Name:. None .:Age:. Physically has the appearance of 31 .:Status:. Healer and Warrior
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. Haldir has fair, light skin, and large blue eyes. His hair is blond, falling past his shoulders and always remains pin straight. Sometimes he clips it back, but when he travels with Maeve he leaves it lose to hide his pointed ears, a common physical trait of all faeries. He has a bit of a muscular and wider build as he must be physically fit to fight. He usually wears armor when he is outside of Mabon, but not wanting to immediately pose as a threat, he covers it with a large cloak or cape. Within Mabon, since there is usually no need for violence, he wears more casual clothing, usually a long robe or something else native to the realm. He walks with very straight posture, having his chin up a bit making him appear to be very proper, and perhaps a bit stuck up. .:Height:. 5"11 .:Portrayed by:. Craig Parker
| ~ • ~ | Personality | ~ • ~ |
.:Personality:. Haldir has a bit of a more serious personality. He is completely comfortable with other faeries, however has very different opinions when it comes to humans. He does not like asking them for help, or seeking aid from them, or anyone for that matter, for he feels that they can do nothing and that the faeries will be able to survive on their own. He does not have the best sense of humor and does not crack that many jokes, giving him a more serious persona. He does not display all that much emotion, though it is usually clear that he is more at ease with his own kind than when he is out of his realm. Outside Mabon, to avoid conversing with humans, he usually pretends that he can not speak English. He just maintains a stern and serious expression while he is silently irritated.
He is a man of intellect displaying vast knowledge about the world, both the world of magic and the human world. He is very protective over his own kind and loyal and obedient to those he serves and cares for. He is not one to over display his emotions, and definitely is not a touchy feely kind of person, often not hugging or showing any affection towards others in public. .:Strengths:.
Excellent Warrior[/li][li] Very intelligent [/li][li] Protective and honorable[/li][/ul] .:Weaknesses:. Has trouble asking for help[/li][li] Sometimes too serious [/li][li] Has a more cynical point of view towards humans[/li][/ul] .:Magic Abilities:. Haldir possess the general magical abilities of a faery, however each faery possesses one unique gift and his is the power to heal. It is true that all of them have this ability, however his is the strongest in the realm. When a faery can not heal another, whether it be another faery, human or any other kind of magical being, Haldir can often do this. He has mastered his gift and is considered the Healer of Mabon. .:Special Skills:. Apart from his magical abilities he is a gifted warrior. Usually violence is not the means in which they solve things, however he has trained to fight, a master of swordsmanship and archery as these two are his weapons of choice. He has built an army within Mabon and only leads it when it is imperative, for his role as a Healer is more important than his role as a general and leader of the army. .:Accents:. Soft English accent, has a bit of a deep voice and speaks with great articulation| ~ • ~ | History | ~ • ~ | .:Birthplace:. Mabon .:Occupation:. Healer of the Realm, Warrior of Mabon .:Current Location of Residence:. Mabon, often travels with Maeve to offer protection and in case she gets severely injured.:History:. Haldir was born and raised in Mabon in a comfortable, luxurious lifestyle. He was married and lived a happy, ordinary life. Until things took a drastic turn. One day, a group of faeries ventured out of the realm to the human world to gather some things and just explore the land. This was not uncommon for them to do so, and Haldir's wife often accomponied this group of traveling faeries. However this time, it ended very differently.
The timing was terrible, as it was when the Great Purge took place. The group of faeries were captured and killed, Haldir's wife included. This event made him very bitter and angry towards humans. While he was not particularly attached to them before, this only strengthened that distance. He does not believe that they are the answer to the survival of his race, nor does he think there is any hope for there to be peace between his kind and humans. Though this view conflicts with his Queen, he still travels with her, offering her physical protection and the ability to heal her if any harm comes to her. He makes no secret of his opposing views but also does not take action against his Queen or diminishes the hope of his realm. He is usually back and forth between Mabon and the human world, carrying a sword, bow and arrow and his magical ability to heal others with him.[/blockquote]

As soon as Maeve heard the abrupt and angry voice of a man, she understood what Neav had meant and why he had such a strong aversion to discuss the man. Maeve dismounted from her horse, gracefully leading Mirshann to where the man suddenly stopped talking when she came into view. She felt so much hostility from him, so much anger, so much violence. How could he be this way...with Neav? No. Maeve could not accept this. She could not allow someone to treat Neav in this way. Whatever happened to kindness and compassion? How did it ever come to this.
Maeve released the reigns from Mirshann and the animal knew to stop following. She then lowered herself into a curtsy. Despite the rudeness of the man, she had to treat him with some respect. Maybe he would learn from that. My Lord, She spoke in a gentle, calm voice even though her heart broke for the poor boy. She used her strength to prevent her eyes from watering, but she knew that they must have glistened a little for suppressing her emotions had never been a strong quality of hers.
Please do not be angry with him, She said in a pleading voice, with a subtle urgency behind it. She looked directly at Aaron Williams, really not liking the emotions she was feeling from him. Especially when they were expressed at Neav's expense. It was my fault for keeping him. He remained polite, courteous and respectful to a wandering stranger such as myself. He gave a wonderful impression of Camelot, reflecting kindly and favorably on his superiors as well. She paused for a moment, gently placing her hand on the man's shoulder. I beg of you. Do not punish his tardiness. If you need someone to blame, blame me and I will take upon the burden of whatever punishment you deem fit. I ask for nothing else, besides this.

Felicia, She repeated with a smile. Such a beautiful name, She complimented, only thinking aloud her thoughts. Oh how she was terribly curious about this girl, yet continued to fight the urge to interrogate her. She had assured her that she was not leaving so hopefully, there would be time to discover what had happened to make her this way. Maeve was receiving very mixed emotions and could not differentiate them for something was underlying them all and in a strange way, dominating them.
I hope you do not mind Felicia, she began to say as she opened the small pack she had with her, taking out the dress she had bought for her. I purchased this for you. It seemed as if you needed a new one, so forgive my presumption if I was incorrect. She held out the dress towards her. I hope it is to your liking. Maybe once she was clean, in a fresh new dress, and has some food in her system, she would feel better. If not then Maeve would have to take a different approach to help her.

This was obviously not the first time she had been to Camelot and so when they entered the familiar city, she knew where the castle was located, though not specifically the stables. Please, call me Maeve She said in a soft voice, smiling. She did not understand the need for titles though here they seemed to be a sign of respect for it was something she did when referring to those who held a higher class than what she was appearing to be: a merchant. Yet, she did prefer others to call her by her first name rather than a title. She also wanted Neav to feel comfortable enough around her to call her by just her first name, no fancy titles attached.
As long as you are certain you do not mind me meeting him, She added. Judging from his reaction of the subject she was not sure he still wanted her to be in the presence of the man who apparently treated him rather poorly. Maeve would of course respect his decision, though part of her urgently wished she would allow her to meet him and therefore, judge the severity of Neav's situation.

Maeve had not realized that her questions would have caused the boy so much discomfort...until she felt it. She did not push for answers though she was still curious. She would perhaps find out first hand how his master treated him. But clearly the child did not want her involved in his affairs and she supposed she would have to respect that, even if she wanted to be there to protect him from whatever cruelty he was faced with on a daily basis. He did not deserve it, and she did not like the idea of a small boy being taken advantage of by rude superiors. No human being deserved that treatment, least of all someone like Neav.
When he quickened his place, Maeve gently touched Mirshann's neck and he did the same as the view of the city soon came into distance. Maeve did not want the boy to be offended, so she felt the need to clear the air a bit. I apologize my child. I did not mean to pry. Please forgive me. She was not a woman with too much pride to ask for forgiveness. She did not see herself as perfect for even fearies made mistakes and this was one that she did not want to cause strain between them. She did not try to justify her reasoning either... for it would not fully admitting she had been in her wrong. If he asked, she would say but for now, she was just working on easing any tension she may have created due to her nosiness.

She watched the girl seem to be in more pain and was about to rush to her side when she seemed to control it a bit. Or at least, not make it evident in which case Maeve did not truly know how much she was suffering...other than what she felt emanating from her. Maeve pulled up a chair and sat near the bed and ironically it was shortly after this that the young girl questioned Maeve. While she did not expect it, she also felt even more guilty that the poor thing thought she was going to leave. Had no one taken care of her? Well clearly not considering her state. Did she have a family? Was she on her own? Maeve wanted to ask her all of these questions, but first, had to reassure her.
She reached over and gently placed her hand on the frail girl's hand. She then spoke in a soft voice. I have absolutely no intention of leaving you in a state like this. Then, she would be just like all of those passive people who had not offered to help her. I will stay with you for as long as you need, or like me to. This was her promise to her. She would help her in whatever way she could. May I ask what your name is? She wanted to know what to call her, a further attempt to show that she was trying to build a friendship with this girl so that she could help care for her and see her in a less pitiful state. I am Maeve, She introduced herself, lowering her head in a bit of a bow. Had she been standing, she would have curtsied.

Maeve softly smiled as the children ran off rather excited by their unique gift. When they were gone, she re focused her attention on to the merchant. Though he said she was mistaken, she knew she was not. She of course did not want to accuse him of lying, as that would be very rude and she knew full well the amount of mistrust among people when those with magic were being hunted. She continued to politely smile at him, deciding to hold off on continuing on about how she knew him. If he was trying to protect himself, she would respect that. And so entertained the subject of fireworks. I have not seen fireworks in many years, She said in a soft voice, briefly glancing down at the items he was selling. It was very kind of you to give those children some. They were rather excited by your generosity. Not only did they look it, but she felt that excitement. Oh how she loved children; they were so innocent, so filled with joviality.
No forgiveness is required. I am Maeve, She said, lowering herself into a bit of a curtsy. She was used to greeting people in this way. It did not matter if she was Queen of her realm, she firmly believed in equality and since she had no intention of publicly making her identity known, she would continue to appear as just a merchant...much like what he was doing. And your name? She knew it, but asked out of courtesy and politeness, though not yet admitting she was mistaken for she knew she was not. However, would grant him with the ideal that she was, just to avoid suspicion of any kind. Perhaps when they were in a more private location, they could talk more openly.
( I am so sorry it took this long for me to reply! I had completely forgotten to bookmark this thread! Sorry about the delay...it won't happen again ! )

Maeve was relieved to hear that the girl was doing better. Perhaps it was just rest, food and water that she was in need of. But why? Did she live in poor conditions here? She wanted to ask what had led the girl to be this way, but she knew better than to pester her while she was still recovering. Her next question made Maeve feel sad. Sad that people here, did not care for others... that they would let this poor girl wander the streets clearly looking unwell, and not even offer a helping hand. Why did people only do things when they were to benefit from it? What happened to idea of helping someone just because it was the right thing to do? It made no sense to Maeve; the idea of reciprocity was far too popular and could really cost the lives of others.
My dear, I helped you because you looked like you needed it, She told her, gently smiling. While she was not all offended by the girl inquiring as to why she came to her aid, it still made her feel sad. I cannot understand why no one else offered to help you. She said, vocalizing her previous thoughts. I expect nothing in return, other than seeing you recover to your full health once again. She felt the need to say this, because with the way humans think... she did not want this girl to believe that Maeve had any expectations of a price in return for her help. That was not the point of this. The point was to help a human in ways that she could, and ways that every other person had the ability to help as well, for it was not through magical ways that Maeve had helped her. It was just a simple issue of food and water, yet it seemed to have gotten so complicated if everyone turned the other way.

She could tell he was hesitant and then he explained why. He was not nice? Just how mean was he to Neav if even the poor boy considered him to be less than kind? This only made her worry for Neav even more. He should be polite to everyone, not just some and disregard the feelings of others. Maeve knew full well that things worked differently here, but still. In no realm was it acceptable to abuse a child....whether that was verbal abuse, or physical. Maeve really hoped it was not that serious but from the way he was talking, she feared it was. What is it that he does or say? She asked curiously, with a tone of sadness in his voice was well. Why were people so cruel to others? What did this achieve? No wonder there was so much violence here.
She felt even more saddened to hear that he thought he was not brave. Oh but you are brave my child. Just because you do not challenge the authority of others, or argue with them, does not mean you are a coward. That can take greater strength and bravery than fighting back. He did not seem to be the argumentative type and that was probably, sadly enough, the reason he was still alive. Why do they cause such fear in you? What had the poor thing endured during his life to make him fearful of such things as people? Maeve did not fear them, but rather felt sad for them...and yet, at the same time she carried the hope that they could change and learn to accept everyone rather than only others like them. And I am sure the horses, your friends do not consider you to be a coward. No. They most certainly must believe you protect them and just as you feel safe with them, they surely feel safe with you. She paused, gently smiling as she looked at him. These are not the traits of someone who is not brave.

Hahaha Yes! It was in Cenred's Kingdom! That was why Uther could not send help because Camelot troops being in there would be regarded as an act of war, and he did not want to risk that for one small village At least Merlin shows loyalty to Camelot! We'll have to forgive him!
AWESOME Map Alistair! It definitely helps a great deal when it comes to visualizing things! Thank you for posting it!
