It was a normal day. the birds where chirping stories to each other in the trees. The Squirrels were playing a game of tag running around the base of trees and up the trunks to be hidden in the canopy the branches created over the forest floor. It was a great day and kazira was irritated. She hadn't used her powers in over a month and there was nothing else that seemed to put her in a bad mood other than that. She had been cooped up in cities towns and over populated streets that she couldn't use her magic and it was building up and Moros was getting upset with her because she would accidentally flood a field or set fire to a home or even completely melt some of her weapons. He, Moros, had decided that she needed to blow off some steam so to speak and told her to go deep into the forest and use her magic in more productive ways than setting fire to something or flooding anything else.
She grumbled on her way to a secluded meadow that she knew of. Many didn't know that it was there because the trees grew denser the further that you ventured in. It was beautiful and it was quiet except for the animals and the natural noises of the forest. A small smile slid onto her face as soon as she stepped onto meadow the flowers were bright and there was plenty of light that she didn't need a torch. She dropped her things onto the ground. Today she was wearing a black halter dress with gold designs on the bodice and leather belt, the skirt was a plain ebony with a slit up the right side that ended on the upper part of her thigh. She wore tan sandals that laced up her leg and black arm guards. This was a present from one of her trader friends said he got it from Rome a while back and had wanted to give it to her as a gift for saving his life after being burned severely. It wasn't something that she would normally wear but she didn't have many options left unless she wanted to make her own clothes and that was more expensive than buy them! She walked to the center and took in a calm breath, closing her eyes, and then opened her eyes. If one was to see her now they would see that her left eye was a brilliant gold and her right was a swirling mass of silver and blues. She closed her eyes and allowed her powers to manifest physically. She then began dancing to an unknown tune using her hands to form designs in the air with both fire and water. She allowed her magic to take control and move on its own and it twisted over her arms and wrapped around her limbs and weaved through the strands of her hair neither singeing nor soaking anything it touch. She was in complete harmony with her elements.

…I do not know where I’m going But I still dance beside the pathway And when people pass me I will ask them questions That they do not care to answer...
Tam Piper had decided it was time to leave Camelot. She had been there several weeks now and though she liked the place, she had grown restless. Her feet were itching, her heart longing for an unknown place and unknown people where she could slip invisible through the crowds. So she had fitted her flute and few belongings into the hidden pockets of her cloak, stolen a pair of boots without holes and set off into the forest. She whistled as she walked, an answer to the birds and their sweet choiring songs. She followed the pathway at her feet. She did not know where she was going, but trusted that all roads lead somewhere and if she did not like where this road ended, well. There was no law against turning back and treading the same road twice.
Suddenly she heard something. Not an animal or forest song but a rythic swish of a skirt and dancing feet. It was close, though Tam could see no one. She froze, listening and curious. Slow, carefully picking her silent way, Tam left the path and followed the sounds. And saw something she had never expected to see. A girl perhaps only a few years older than herself, barefoot and dancing in a forest clearing. With her hands she wove streams of fire and water, twisting them like a child playing with ribbons. Tam gave a long, low whistle of admiration. For she reconsied this girl as Kazira Astras who she had met in a festival but few weeks before. Tam had not even guessed that Kazira Astras had such a secret.

Kazira continued to dance with her powers swirling around her. She drew in the water and sighed she wanted to work with the fire aspect of her self. She let it weave around her arms legs and through the strands of her hair. All Warming her skin but never burning it. She threw her arms out and let the fire travel hold back so that it wouldnt leave a burn trail that led to her clearing. She gasped softly there was someone watching her. she drew in her power only letting it settle behind her eyes.
She walked over and grabbed her dagger and peeked arond some trees and gasped in shock. "Tam!?" She stated in a shocked voice. "What are you doing out here?" She inqired curisouly after a few moments. 'Great now someone without magic knows what I am.' she thought with a fair amount of anger thatdidnt show on her face.

Tam watched, fascinated. She had suspected Kazira Astras of having some secret but she had rather thought at had been that Kazira was not as honest as she pretended to be. A thief, in other words. But never would Tam have guessed her for a witch! It made her a little annoyed but more than a little impressed. No much slipped past her quick eyes, she knew.
Oh... Now it seemed her watching eyes had been noticed. For Kazira had taken a dagger and made her way over. Tam had a knife in her own hand, drawn smooth as a sliver of mercury. Though she had liked Kazira, she knew well enough that people were not always as nice as they first seemed. If they could be witches in disguise, they could be murderers too. But those thoughts did not show on her face. The knife was held passively at her side and the normal look of mischief danced over her face. "Nothing illegal... like some people I could mention." Tam said and managed to sound both accusing and light-hearted. "I think I should be asking the questions of you..." she paused before asking lightly "So, you planning to curse old fat-belly Uther? He gives good money for anyone who informs on your kind, you know."

Kazira was flabbergasted. Tam would really turn her in? Well now that she thought about it, it wasnt that far fetched. She relaxed her stance. If need be she could always just kill Tam and be done with it but despite what others think of her she didnt like killing others. Yes it was her job but she didnt like killing people she wasnt hired to kill.
Tam was supposedly her friend. Granted she was a new one but still she didnt go off killing all of the new people that she met. It just didnt work out because of a variety of options and results. "What I'm doing out here isnt illegal if I dont get caught." She stated simply placing her dagger within the confines of her belt. "If I was planning to curse Uther I would have done so closer to the castle." It was true. For her she needed to be in fairly close proximity of her target to curse them. most curses need to have a grounding point and that point was something that needed to be close. It needed a rooting point to let out its effects. "Besides Despite the law against magic I have no true quarrel with the man other than some of my past which i should thank him for one day. He actually helped make me who i am today."
Kazira sighed when Tam mentioned the reward. She had been tempted to turn many people in when times were hard but she didnt she had to hold in the temptation because they would do the same thing. Well, some of them would. Others though would probably try to kill her on the spot. "Yes there is quite the reward for us magic users now isnt there?" She looked at Tam. "You could turn me in and it would make you very rich." Yes she knew that this was baiting her supposed new friend but she really wanted to know if she would turn her in for a bit of coin in her pocket. She didnt know if Uther would be happy or he would kill Tam under the suspicion that she had been helping herself at any point in time.

Tam grinned. What I'm doing isnt illigal if I don't get caught. It sounded like something she might say herself. A thief was full of opinions that let them dance around laws. Tam did not know if Kazira was telling the truth when she said she would have cursed the King closer to the Castle... while Tam knew that magic worked to rules in the same way as anything else, she did not know what these rules were. Nor did she really care if Kazira Astras planned to kill the King. Tam had no liking for him, or even any respect. She had seen better kings on her travels, young kings full of fire and life.
Tam was not planning on turning Kazria in for the reward, either. One law-breaker does not turn in another. She had just been trying to find out if Kazira was evil with witch-craft. If the girl had tried to stab her to keep her mouth closed, Tam would have stabbed back and then run. But the attack did not happen. "Aye, well... but what do I want with riches?" she asked, eyes dancing. "Do not forget I am the Prince of Azamandiya. I was born with gold cluched tight in my fists. When I cry, I weep sapphire tears."

Kazira rolled her eyes at Tam. It was an ongoing joke but it was funny at the most part. "Yes well," She bowed. "What need would you have to not have me killed for disobeying a law you highnes?" Kazira stated with a smile. She righted herself and relaxed her stance and laughed. "Yes you weep sapphire tears." She smirked. "That wouldnt be good information to let loose you never know who could be listening." She paused.
"As much as i like standing here why dont we head back to my makeshift camp? I have some food there." She stated turing around and walking back to her clearing. "By the way...What are you doing out here Tam? Hardly anyone comes to this part of the forest."

"It isn't my law," Tam retorted. "If it was, we would not be having this conversation. I would have your tongue pulled out and a rabbit's head stuffed inside and your lips sewn up. And then I would hang you. As it is," she continued lightly, as though she had not just made a string of terrible threats, "It isn't my law. Therefore you play with all the fire you want. S'long as you don't burn the forest down."
She smiled sweetly, at last returning her knife to its sheath. Her stomach growled at the mention of food. The way to keep company of any street-thief was to offer them food. Tam grinned. "Feed me and I am forever yours." She followed Kazira into her clearing and sank down cross legged in the grass. She thought over the question. Just what was she doing here? "Oh... just wandering," she answered. It was true enough. She was bored of Camelot and wanted to go steal some things elsewhere. "Seeking my fortune?" she added as a question. Maybe it was true. Did she have a fortune to find? Probably not. She had lived longer than many street-kids already...
