Kazira walked into the town of Camelot with Moros, her black dog companion. She was slightly awed by the place. Yeah sure she has been to similar places before but she never saw the people so happy. They were usually kind of sullen and lost.
"Hey Moros," She started."What do you think this place is going to be like?"
Kazira looked down at Moros with curious sky blue eyes. The dog seemed to shrug and continued to trot next to her.
"Oh Morose really don't be such a pessimist." Kazira stated."To be honest though Moros I'm kinda of Nervous being here, being what I am and all."
Moros looked up at her again but with understanding eyes.
"Kazira you have nothing to worry about, as long as you don't get angry and set something on fire or flood the place you'll be fine. Moros laughed. Besides what would they know about witch's? They're not that easy to spot considering they're human as well. Just with a few extra gifts.
Kazira sighed at her friend but could not help but let out a little chuckle. He was right as long as she didn't get angry everything would be fine. At that very moment her stomach growled at her. Looking around she blushed. With how loud her stomach was she wouldn't have been surprised if someone had heard it. Seeing that no one had actually heard her stomach's roar for food she relaxed and looked around.
"I wonder if there is a tavern around or at least a food vendor." She thought. "I think that I have some money left."
She pulled out her pouch and shook it hearing it jingle slightly she smiled. Yes she had enough for a bite to eat and something to drink. She walked down, what she assumed was, the main street and saw a food vendor.
"Yippee!" She thought happily. "Food here I come!"
She jogged over to the vendor and asked for one meat on a stick. What she heard didn't set well with her. The amount it cost was more than what she had.
"Are you kidding me!?" Kazira yelled incredulously."You want me to pay four pounds for some meat on a stick!? That's outrageous! I could get that in Danvale for five shillings!"
Kazira and the Vendor continued to yell at each other over the price, thus causing quite a commotion and drawing in a crowd.
"Well this is certainly not what I was wanting to do. I just wanted some stinking food." Kazira thought."Hey! you raised the price again! Stop it you old man, I'm not going to pay six pounds for that, when its not worth that much!"
Kazira's ire was starting to rise and her sky blues eyes seemed to ignite. Moros sat off to the side watching the two humans bicker.
"This is not good. If someone doesn't step in soon the whole place will be on fire." He paused in his thinking. "And I certainly don't want to have to bite someone to get it to stop I don't know when these people last took a bath and old men don't taste very good at all."
When Kazira was about to start yelling at the old vendor again someone stepped in causing the two to look over in shock, they hadn't realized they caused that big of a disturbance. The fire remained in Kazira's eyes but her face donned a guilty look to it.
"This day could not get worse than right now... could it?"

Arthur was wandering the streets of his future kingdom. He was not fully dressed in his armor, though the citizens still recognized who he was . . . if they were around there that is. He was merely dressed in casual clothing as he was just strolling through the city. He did of course have his sword attached to his side, making him prepared for any danger that may suddenly befall Camelot. Unfortunately, it was becoming more and more of a frequent occurrence. Oh well. They were still standing. The king was still alive. That was all that mattered to him.
On what he had hoped was a peaceful day, he suddenly heard arguing. Not just arguing, but yelling! He began to follow the crowd as quite a large one had surrounded the vendor and . . . a woman. Arthur did not recognize either of them, since he was not familiar with all the citizens of the city. That did not make them any less important to them. He pushed through the crowd, until he was standing in the middle of the woman and the vendor. The vendor immediately bowed down, lowering his gaze to the ground. He looked back and forth between the two. "Now what is going on here?" he said in a calm, but authoritative voice.
[Hope you don't mind that I joined! I was just wondering around what time in terms of the series you wanted this thread to take place . . . just so I have an idea of whats going on in Camelot!]

[Oh its no problem at all . It takes place a about a month after the Great Dragon attack around mid-morning.]
The owner of the new voice startled Kazira causing the guilty look to strengthen. Whoever it was had authority and this was not the way to start off in a new place. Glanceing over at the vendor she saw him bow. She mentally cringed, this was someone important.
"Great just great, I had to go and open my big mouth. I wouldn't be surprised that this man is part of the nobility or something like that." Kazira thought.
She looked at the at man. He was tall, that was for sure, but most people were taller than her. She took in his appearance closely. He was actually quite handsome and he held himself with confidence.
"Like a prince," she thought before telling him what was going on. "This old geezer is charging four pounds for meat on a stick. Its overly priced and its wrong. I know for a fact that its close to five or six shillings."
With that said the Vendor turned towards her and glared. Stating that his goods were not over priced. Kazira looked away from the new commer and glared at the old man the fire in her eyes growing.
"They are too old man and you keep raising the price first it was four pounds now its six." Kazira stated clenching her fist. She was seriously tempted to punch him.

Old geezer? Were they still arguing?! "Alright alright. Thats enough you two." He looked at the old man, who was clearly offended. He seemed to quiet down though by the Prince's presence. Arthur then turned to the woman. "This man is making food and charging it at his own price. If you are not satisfied with it, perhaps you should try another vendor." He kept his voice calm. There was just far too much occurring in Camelot for this one small argument to be of his primary concern. Of course, Arthur was unaware of Kazira's abilities, so he saw this as nothing of great risk.
"What is your name?" He asked her, still calm yet strict. He was not going to waste any time. There were far more important things going on. When the old man started getting worked up again, Arthur placed one hand on the woman's arm to lead her to the side, so that they could both have some time to cool off. It was easier to move her from the vendor rather than the other way around.
[Awesome! Thanks!]

Kazira felt the man's hand on her arm as he pulled her to the side away from the old man, who she stuck her tongue out at childishly, her ire was still there. The flames flickered slightly in her eyes, and her fists were still clenched. Funnily enough she still wanted to punch him.
"Though what he said did make sense, the price was still to high in my opinion," she begrudgingly admitted. She let her eyes wander and noticed the damage to the place though a lot looked like its been repaired it still looked like an attack of some kind happened. Now she felt extremely guilty. Why hadn't she realized this before?
She bowed her head in sadness while slightly wincing at his tone she wasn't used to people talking like that to her most were either cold or completely ignored her; Kazira unclenched her fists and began to rub her wrists before she answered the man before her.
"My name is Kazira Astras." Looking up she gave a half hearted smile. She was still upset but it wasn't as bad as before. "Might I ask who you are?"
She was genuinely curious about the man before her. Of course she met both nobility and royalty alike, some were better than others but she generally didn't like to deal with the pompous attitudes. If he was nobility what was he doing here? Most didn't bother to come into the towns.
"Maybe," she thought. "He's different from the others?" Kazira looked at him and then back at the damage that was still around it brought another question to her mind and without thinking she blurted it out. "What happened here? It looks like a dragon decided to play arson."
Only after she said it did she cover her mouth with wide eyes. The thought wasn't supposed to come out of her mind but it did and hopefully her big mouth didn't get her into any more trouble.

"If you are still hungry, maybe you can look for another vendor, one who's prices are more acceptable to you." He was still not sure if she was a visitor or citizen, but her next question regarding who he was, answered his curiosity. She was most definitely a traveler. She seemed a bit calmer now, and he hoped it remained that way. "I am Prince Arthur of Camelot," he formally introduced. He could not have expected her to know, so did not deem her as disrespectful towards him.
Her next statement was an extremely ironic one, for it was what happened, though she seemed to be joking about it. "That is in fact exactly what happened. A dragon attacked Camelot, destroying majority of the city, and killing many of the people." Arthur was glad that the dragon was no longer a threat, but there was still much to do in the kingdom . . . and he had yet to find Morgana.
And now, it was his turn to be inquisitive. "Where have you traveled from?" Came his next question. Was she a threat? She looked harmless enough but with all the sorcery that Camelot had fallen victim to, even the most innocent of faces could be potentially the most dangerous.

Kazira looked at him with wide shocked eyes. He was a pince! She really couldnt be more shocked. Kazira mentally sighed well she was right earlier he was someone important she just didnt think that he was the heir to the throne that was why it shocked her so much.
"I could," she said the guilty look coming back into her eyes. "I apolgize for my behavior, I lose control when I get angry and my mouth works faster than my mind at times."
She laughed lightly but was curious as to why he asked where she came from. For a peasant to ask that was normal, she didnt look like the usual travelar who dressed in the cotton instead of leather, but for royalty it was rather odd. She couldnt help but wonder what happened here to make him ask.
She looked at him in shock. She hadnt meant to be right when she stated that it looked like a dragon had attacked. She looked down and apologized. Dragon's could be vicious things but the one's she met in different areas were rather nice and wouldnt attack with out some reason to do so. Kazira didnt expect those who dont know or understand magic to know that information. Even she didnt know it till she encountered a female one protecting her eggs and almost killing her at least until she realize that Kazira ment no harm.
"I just came from the coast, east of here." Kazira stated. "I just finished a trade, and decided to come this way. I haven't been here since I was young." She looked up at him. "Is there anyway that I may help? I know that things must be hard right now and i know that many probably won't trust me since i dont really live here but I would still like to help," she paused. "That is if you dont mind your highness."

She was apologizing; a good sign of what kind of personality this woman had. Hopefully . . . she would not give them any more trouble. The last thing Camelot needed was another tragic attack with a devastating outcome. "It happens," he said passively. Price of food was high, for it was scarce right now. They did not have much, but were slowly rebuilding themselves. Arthur would not let his people starve, though he knew there was only so much he could do to aid them.
Her shock was apparent. He said nothing about it, as he listened to her answer as it was of great importance. He was once again surprised by her offer to help, and could not help but be suspicious though he hid it well. "Not many come to Camelot to offer assistance," he answered truthfully. He did have pride in his kingdom, but not the same kind as his father had. Arthur was not too proud to seek help from others for the betterment of his people. "We are glad for any help that people are willing to give, however, I'm afraid that there is not much that can be done. It will take time for things to go back to the way they were." Until Morgana was found, Arthur feared his father would not focus the army's attention on anything else.
"Do you have any family or friends here?" He asked, wondering if that was perhaps a reason for her to return. That, and if she had in fact known someone here . . . he would help find out whether they were alive, or whether they had passed since there have been numerous fatalities in the recent past.

She nodded her head. She could understand that everything takes time. Kazira couldn't help but hear the suspicion in his voice despite the gracious answer he gave but shrugged it off. She was quite used to it happening but again she couldn't help but wonder what happened in the past.
" Yes I can understand that," she said good naturedly."But if there is a need I could ask some of the traders to send some goods this way if there are shortages anywhere. Several of them owe me a favor or two."
"That and several of them seem to worship her since she saved them from some magical creatures a while back." She mentally laughed.
She looked back at the vendor and sighed, she would have to apologize to him as well. She didn't mean to upset anyone here. Usually she was quite aware of her surroundings but this time her hunger got the best of her. Kazira blinked when Arthur had asked if she any family or friends here.
"No, I don't haven any family here, or friends for that matter." She shook her head and smiled as a sad look entered her eyes; yes she did have a family here at one point in time but they were long gone. Kazira could come to admire this man and his kindness. She could already tell that he has a good heart and that he greatly cares for his people."But thank you for asking, I am grateful for the concern."

He still did not trust her, as trust did not come easily so he refrained from taking her up on her offer. Plus, Uther would not be so willing to spread work about their state of vulnerbility which would be apparent if they sought out aid. "And why is that?" He asked when she revealed that certain people owed her a favor or two. His tone was not demanding as while he held authority, he was asking her questions and she was answering at her own free will. If she did not reply, then all it meant was that Arthur would have to just keep in mind that there were visitors in the kingdom that he knew nothing about.
"With the amount of loss we have suffered recently, that in a way, is a good thing." The fact that she did not have any family or friends did not present the possibility that they were no longer alive. "There are few motels you could stay one. A couple in town, and many more just outside the city. Depends where you prefer to stay." There were so many homeless people too . . . so much, too much had been lost. "Unless you plan on staying for a longer period of time." His statement implied the question of how long she planned staying for. Arthur did not interrogate everyone like this. He knew there were travelers that he not even laid eyes upon . . . but she was one that had drawn his attention, and therefore, he wanted to at least try and determine whether her intentions and motives here were innocent.

She nodded in understanding. But the offer was out there should they decide to act upon it. But she couldn't help but smile at him. To her he seemed so naive and cautious. Not trusting those he just met on a whim. Again she admired that in some people, others, well it wasn't so admirable.
"Yes I suppose it would be at this point and time," she said. "Oh I saved them from being killed a couple times from creatures of old, and so that's why they own me a few favors nothing big. But my previous offer is on the table should you need it at anytime."
She listened to him as he stated there were many motels. She really wasn't in to staying in builds but she would probably check them out just to set other's minds at ease. She once again smiled at the older prince, at least she assumed that he was older than her.
"In all honesty I don't know how long I will be hear. I travel a lot so its a shot in the wind." She shrugged nonchalantly, at this point she just wanted to get something to eat relax help someone and do some odd jobs just to raise some money. "It could be years, months, or even days. I guess it all depends on the jobs that I do or how I like the place."
Kazira let out a small laugh. "Nomads aren't known to settle down in any one place for too long so that might put your mind at ease."

Arthur wondered how she had managed to do that, but he did not ask. His curiousity did not always get the better of him . . . then again, what if she was associated to any kind of sorcery? That question never escaped his mind when his paths crossed a stranger's, especially a visitors who may be unfamiliar with the laws of Camelot, and the penalties of disobeying them, which mostly resulted in execution. "I thank you for your generous offer. I assume you are skilled in some sort of combat or sorts if you were able to defeat those beasts on your own." It was his way of introducing the subject. Apparently, his curiousity did get the better of him after all.
So she had noticed, or was at least aware of his wariness when it came to strangers. "Well you are welcome to stay here. Just try not to argue with any more vendors. Otherwise, you may not find any food at all." He was slightly sarcastic, and yet his words held truth to them as well. "Have you traveled here alone?" He was assuming yes, but then again, one could never be too sure.

"Yes, I guess you could say that; I've been trained in the art of dagger play and the bow and arrows. She paused putting a finger to her chin."I've dabbled in hand to hand combat as well so I guess I'm skilled enough to get by. Most of those creatures were weak anyways, a child could kill one." Kazira stated but muttered the last part. In truth the creatures were 'weak' to a witch but to a normal person they wouldn't really last but he didn't have to know that, she didn't want to cause trouble despite what people thought when they saw her. Sometimes she wished that she didn't have her magic but she couldn't help who she was.
Kazira nodded she wasn't about to argue with another vendor, who knew what they could do. She's met some in the past that stabbed a few people for arguing and they looked like such kind old people. But this time she was just shocked at the price and her anger and hunger got the best of her...along with her big mouth. "I'll keep that in mind. I don't like to cause trouble despite this little...Episode (if that's what you want to call it)." She paused after hearing his question. 'Well, it depends on how one thinks of alone. if you meant did I travel here with another person? Then no. I actually traveled here with my companion, who just so happens to be a dog by the name of Moros." She pointed behind Arthur to the quite large dog laying down out of the way watching them his gold eyes question. She couldn't help but think"like you're not listening to what's going on you mutt."
"That is Moros before you ask where he is." She smiled to show that she meant no disrespect. "I'll admit though, he is quit large, and kind of hard to miss." She said this jokingly because amazingly people did over look the black dog when they entered new places mostly focusing on herself, which she found quite annoying by the way but accepted it as animals weren't as abnormal as humans.

Arthur listened to her list off her skills. There were not many woman who were able to fight in various forms of combat, and that was something that concerned him a bit. He just continued to hope that her intentions here were innocent. "Are you self taught then?" He asked. Had someone she knew taught her how to fight such ways? Would she have shown it if her argument with the vendor had became any more intense? After what the kingdom had gone through, Arthur could not help but be more cautious than he normally was. He just hoped he didn't turn into his father when it came to being paranoid.
"I'm relieved to hear that. You wouldn't be the first to argue with a vendor, but as you can see, the condition of the city is still in a state of rebuilding, so you are going to find people with short tempers and thin patience." He could not blame them. If Arthur had to direct blame at anyone, he would blame himself. He should have been able to stop the dragon before things had gotten this bad. Even though he had not known how, he should have found a way. And now his people were suffering, and he could not stand the thought of it.
He then directed his gaze to her canine companion that she mentioned. "He seems like a good companion indeed. So this is your only one? You did not travel with a horse or anything?" She had walked here? Or was her horse tied somewhere outside the city walls? "I would recommend you keep him close. People these days are desperate for food. I would not rule out the possibility of them being desperate enough for dog meat." Desperate times did call for desperate measures, and poverty was rampant in Camelot now. Hopefully, not for too much longer though. Arthur had to try and be optimistic about things, otherwise, he would dwell in guilt and sorrow for the state of the land.

He seemed concerned about something was what Kazira thought when she had listed off what she could do. But she put it off as to her being a stranger. If there had been past problems she didn't hear about them or she probably did and just didn't remember. Kazira highly doubt though that they would want such information leaking out to other kingdoms. "My father was the one who taught me how to use a bow. For the most part I am self taught; an old knight told me that the best way to learn is to do so from experience but also to take the time and ask for help." A fond smile slid easily onto her face "But the old coot decided that I needed to know a little more and helped me expand my range with a little hand to hand." She frowned at the memory it was shortly after that his life gave way and he passed on. He was very close to her, despite him being a knight he was kind to her till his dying day despite him knowing what she was. He was the grandfather she never had, he took her in and gave her his name to pass on to the future. In truth she had no last name but she kept it in honor of him. She brought her thoughts back to Arthur, his aura seemed to be conflicted sad, but Kazira decided that she would stay quiet, didn't want to seem to conspicuous
She listened as Arthur told her of the short tempers and the thin patience within Camelot and with what she could see, Kazira could understand. She really wished she could learn to control her big mouth and temper. "Yes I can see that from the old man. Who I must apologize to before the day is done." She looked at Moros and nodded her head he was a good companion when he wasn't nagging her all of the time about being careful and respectful to both nobles and royalty. " I will keep an eye on him, though sometimes i wish someone would eat him, he is still a close friend." She looked at him curiously. "Yes," she said a bit confused. "He is the only one. Horses are to much bother for me to travel with. Don't get me wrong I love them to death, but most horses don't like to be around if I am traveling with Moros."
Kazira tilted her head to the side her bangs getting in her face. "Besides, what's the fun of traveling on a horse when you can walk and enjoy what is all around you. With all of the things one must do its often nice to take the time to unwind and let your feet take you to a place you've never been before, or back to a place long forgotten." She closed her eyes and smirked. "Sorry if this all sounds like a loud of blarney to you, Arthur."
She cracked open an eye and looked at Moros who was giving her the 'why-did-you-just-drop-the- title' look and she rolled her eyes. He was such a worry wart. She was just surprised earlier hence the title but now she was back to her usual self and she decided she didn't feel like using a title for him. Even if she got in trouble. She wouldn't change how she acted because he was royalty, but she would tone it down just a little for the current situation.

Asking for help was one of the most difficult things. Pride stood in the way of that, and many knights had it, especially Arthur himself. It was odd though. In a battle or in the moment, knights would have no problem accepting help from others but it was the asking part that proved to be very hard. "Experience can be a dangerous one, but as long as you are well trained and practice enough, it can prove to be helpful." After all, how would you ever learn if you could never actually practice what you were taught? And clearly, it seemed to work for her if she had used it to help others . . . if she was in fact speaking the truth about that. Hand to hand too? "That, is a bit more difficult." It reminded him of Morgana, and how she had always been ready to defend herself. He tried not to think on it, though it was nearly impossible not to do so.
"I'm sure he would appreciate an apology. Once the two of you have cooled off enough. I do not want to find out that there was another argument, or fight which broke out in the middle of the street." Arthur would try to make peace where he could, even if that meant between a nomad and a vendor. She seemed to share a close bond with her animal. It made sense. Arthur was the same way with his horses. Arthur was about to respond to her words . . . when he heard her say his name. Just his name. No title, nothing else attached to it. This surprised him. There were very select few who called him by his name: Uther, Morgana, sometimes even Merlin and Guinevère, but rarely. And here, was this woman, a stranger, though she knew he was Prince of Camelot, called him by his first name, and if he was a citizen.
Arthur stiffened a bit at this. Not being exposed to such casualties, especially from strangers made him feel disrespected a great deal. Even if it seem like such a small thing. "Do you encounter people of royalty often?" He asked her. His voice became a bit more professional rather than just having a casual conversation now.

She let a small smile grace her face in agreeance to his words about both of the things she mentioned being difficult. She had no hidden fantasies about life and new that it was hard. She still had some difficulty asking for help. Kazira saw him stiffen and sighed. It seems that her mouth will once again get her into trouble. She hated the fact everyone had titles and decided that she was going to treat everyone the same. While she knew she wasn't trying to be disrespectful others, though, won't see it that way.
Kazira nodded her head. "Yes I do. They tend to be the one's who hire me" She noticed that his tone had changed when he had asked the question. Yes she had defiantly insulted him. There went her chances of her asking him if he knew of any job that needed to be done. " Why do you ask?" She had to ask. Kazira had her suspicions but she wanted to be sure. Moros had looked over at her with an 'I-told-you-so' look in his eyes before he got up and trotted over and sat between them. Watching their interactions.
Moros knew that if she had dropped the title something like this would happen. Its happened several times before but somehow it usually ended out with her getting a job but he wanted to see how this one turned out. Maybe this one would lock her up for her disrespect or maybe he'll listen to her and tell her to watch her mouth like so many others have before. Moros let out a small snort as he looked up at the two. It wouldn't be the first time she's spent in the dungeons either. She's had her hands broken before they brought her out and she performed so job or another and then released her and somewhat ignored her slight jabs at them. She usually ended up with a few friends by the end of her stay before they decide to leave. Moros sincerely hoped that this ended up like those other times just without the torture or the dungeons.

Something told him that she knew where he was going with this. Surely, no one was that ignorant that they would just call a Prince by his first name. Especially after knowing for certain who he was, so now there was no excuse. He did not like the disrespect. "And so are you on a first name basis with them?" He asked, slightly raising an eyebrow. He was getting more and more suspicious of this mysterious woman. If his father had been in this position, and someone called him Uther . . . well, they would without a doubt be thrown in the dungeon.
But Arthur had a bit more patience. No one was around to hear their conversation, otherwise he may have reacted differently to being called 'Arthur'. They weren't friends. What gave her this right? These were the kinds of things Arthur was curious about, and what he intended to find out.
[Sorry its a bit short!]

She, once again, nodded her head. "Most of them yes. Others not so much but I'm more or less friends with them. Kazira withheld the urge to sigh in exasperation. This was going to be a bit different from the other times she had decided she was tired of using titles. She knew it gets her into trouble but she wasn't going to change who she was for someone who supposedly had "noble" blood. Blood was blood in her opinion (not that anyone asked for it often being one of her gender). "Look I honestly meant no disrespect but the whole title thing, it just doesn't make sense to me when we all have the same blood." She looked up at him with her icy blue eyes the color mixing and it seemed to move.
The massive dog sat between them as he watched the interaction and saw that Kazira was opening her mouth and sticking her boot into it. Moros moved his paw and placed it on her foot before shifting his weight onto it causing Kazira to yelp. She lifted her foot and glared at moros her eyes still seeming to move like water. "What was that for?" she muttered to him before placing her foot down again and looking back up at Arthur. She wondered what he was going to say to her comment.
(its okay that its short ^^ there's nothing wrong with that.)

He didn't trust her enough to rule out the possibility that she was lying about it . . . after all, it was not at all common for royalty and nobility to befriend those of a lower class; especially hired help. "I find that hard to believe," he said plainly, not shy to express his uncertainty. And her explanation of why did not use titles, surprised him even more. He just looked at her. Really? How was she not executed yet. "How can that not make sense? It is common knowledge, expected of everyone. Just as those of nobility are expected to address their superiors with respect. It is rare to find those who are so willing to accept the lack of titles." Even Guinevère, who was close friends with Morgana, referred to her as 'My Lady'. Even Merlin, who Arthur considered a close friend, still referred to him as Sire or My Lord. What made her relationships with higher class people so much more informal?
"I can imagine your . . . disrespect has landed you in quite a bit of trouble in the past. You should give respect where its due, and not be so quick to dismiss titles and ranks." Those were his words of advice to her. And then . . . she was talking to her dog. Now, it was normal to talk to animals, but she seemed to be expecting some sort of answer. That was when a possibility hit him; maybe she was not mentally stable. Maybe there was something wrong with her . . . maybe Arthur should not be so quick to judge.
