.:Occupation:. Court musician
.:Current Location of Residence:.Camelot
.:History:.
Alyssa is the daughter of a mother who was a court musician before her. She displayed a talent for music at an early age, and started training and learning. She, like most minstrels, is good at creating songs as well as the music that goes with them. Her father didn't have any magic, and her mom had a shifting ability similar to Alyssa's. But as a child, Alyssa didn't show any magic of her own. It made things difficult, though, when the Purge began.
Alyssa's mother and father both fled when Uther started executing magic users, leaving Alyssa in the care of her older brother,Alvin. She hasn't seen them since, and she really has no idea if Uther's men got to them, or if they are living in another kingdom now. Alvin works as a silversmith, and Alyssa has a talent for jewlery-making,meaning that as peasants go, they're wealthier than some, but they are still peasants.
Alyssa's own magic started to develop as she grew into a teenager; she doesn't have any huge abilities, but she can move objects from a distance and do a few things with her mind, similar to Morgana's ability. She has to be careful when she gets emotional, because it can trigger troubling things.
Alyssa became a court musician herself, before long, she caught Uther's attention. The king has taken a bit of a liking to her in other ways, though, often calling her in for more private accompaniments. Sometimes her playing and singing does help to soothe his troubled mind, and although she never was truly fond of Uther, believing he may have killed one or both of her parents, she was happy to try and calm his raging temper as often as she could in the hopes it might save a life or two, although it still obviously surfaces frequently.
Sometimes, Uther shows less desirable attention to her, as with some of the other serving girls, but she knows he'd never risk teh scandal of going too far-not after the recent incident with Arthur and Gwen showed once again his feelings about royalty and servants. She's glad, because if he tried anything serious, it might trigger something she wouldnt' get out of alive.
Hers is an anger that smolderss more slowly, and she would not be above helping to free Camelot if a revolution were to start, but she is not a person to take matters like these into her own hands or get blood on them. She still has hope for a better future once Arthur is king-the prince is an arrogant jerk sometimes, but she also sees the man of honor and integrity that's slowly emerging from him. She is hopeful that she can bide her time, do what Uther wants for a few more years, and then be more free once Arthur is on the throne.
