• Arthur's Bane (I and II)
  A dark shadow is cast over Camelot with Morgana's inevitable return. After several knights were sent to the lands of Ismere, and patrols followed, none have returned. Arthur sets out with Camelot's knights to bring his men home. Meanwhile, the threat of Saxons looms everywhere and the king and his men are faced with a small army. Arthur and Merlin are separated from the rest, and the king continues forward on his path to Ismere. Meanwhile in Camelot, the queen discovers a traitor in the form of her servant, and sentences her to death, with the hopes of drawing out her father who is the true enemy of Camelot as he is working with Morgana. The queen's plan is successful and the man by the name of Ruadan, is killed in attempt to break his daughter free. Upon the king and Merlin's arrival at Ismere, they discover that the men are digging in the mines under command of Morgana for she is desperate to find the key to all knowledge. He helps them escape, but not before he is confronted by Morgana. She proceeds to use magic on a blade, that stabs the king repeatedly, leaving him wounded and vulnerable. An unexpected ally forms in the young man named Mordred, who stabs Morgana and allows the knights to get their king to safety. Once the king has recovered, a knighting ceremony takes place when he knights Mordred, Sir Mordred, Knight of Camelot.
• The Death Song of Uther Pendragon
  Camelot celebrates the anniversary of Arthur's coronation as king with a grand feast.
• Another's Sorrow
  Princess Mithian flees to Camelot, speaking of Odin and his taking over of Nemeth's throne as well as holding her father hostage. Camelot aids their allies to overcome a common enemy enemy, only to discover that it is a trap, set forth by Mithian who's hand was forced by Morgana. A sudden shake and crumbling of stones surrounding them gain the king and his knights advantage, and Arthur as well as the others manage to escape. Confronting Odin for his crimes, instead of killing him, Arthur tells him to take his hand in a truce, so that no more blood need be shed. Odin agrees, and Camelot forms yet another alliance.
• The Disir
  Character specific.
• The Dark Tower
  The queen, her brother Elyan, and the other close knights venture to her father's grave for a pilgrimage. Upon her return, they are attacked and while the knights return, the queen is not among them. The king rides out with the knights in search of her, embarking on a perilous journey through treacherous lands. They come to find Morgana has been holding her prisoner in the dreaded Dark Tower, a place of nightmares and terror. Subject to torture and pain, the queen fights against Morgana's mind games, and the knights successfully find her, to bring her home. Their actions are not without sacrifice, as Elyan falls victim to the enchanted sword set to keep anyone from Guinevère. In attempt to save his sister, he dies. Upon return, a funeral is held in honour of Sir Elyan.
• A Lesson in Vengeance
  The king and queen celebrate their anniversary by going on an intimate picnic, where a group of armed men are waiting for them, nearly killing the king. Numerous assassination attempts result in the discovery that there is a traitor among them. The young man of Tyr Seward, the stable boy is accused of such acts. Though before he confesses, he is found dead in his cell; killed by who is presumed to be the true culprit. One night however, the enemy is successful and the king is poisoned. On his deathbed, the council prepares for the queen to take charge, being heir to the throne, while Camelot begins to mourn it's king. Merlin is accused of being the one to poison Arthur and sent to the dungeon. However, moments before the king's final breath, he miraculously recovers, fighting the poison and regaining his life. He later frees Merlin, and due to the queen's tireless efforts to uncover the true culprit, the investigation leads to a man who admits to selling the poison to Morgana, claiming not to have known it's true purpose. The queen is honoured for uncovering the truth.
• The Hollow Queen
  Camelot invites Sarrum of Amata, a man with a vicious and intensely fierce re putation; known for assassinating his friends and allies. It is the king's hope to strike an alliance with him, as they are united under both their hatred for Morgana and the threat she poses. Despite any tensions, the momentous occasion occurs where both sides will sign a treaty of peace, however, before any signature can be written, an arrow strikes at the Sarrum's throat, instantly killing him. It is discovered that he made attempt to assassinate Arthur, only for another to intervene and save the king's life.

• The Kindness of Strangers

• The Drawing of the Dark
  After arresting an enemy of Camelot who made attempt on the king's life and caused the death of many knights, despite offers to repent, she stays strong against the Pendragon name. She holds strong ties with Sir Mordred, as the young knight is caught attempting to help her escape. He is then imprisoned while she is executed and subsequently, escapes Camelot and makes an alliance with Morgana.
• The Diamond of the Day
  War befalls Camelot. Morgana and the Saxon army is upon them, and the king makes a bold decision: he decides to meet them on the lands of Camlann. Camelot's army rallies, and the queen accompanies them to the camp. It is there that they fortify, knowing they are vastly outnumbered, yet the king is not so swift to give up. One night, upon suddenly awakening, he hastily discovers that the Saxons are making way towards them, and the knights arm and ready themselves. The battle ensues, Camelot's armies fighting in two fronts. When the numbers seem too great, they gain the help of an unexpected sorcerer, who uses magic to bring down the Saxon's forces. Victory appears to be in the air, but it is following this battle, that the king is no where to be found. Reports are taken back to Camelot where the queen awaits her husband's return, only to be given a ring with the Pendragon seal by Gauis. A token from Arthur, that if he were to fall, Guinevère is to assume the throne. It is then discovered that the king suffers a mortal wound and that Merlin, is taking him somewhere to be healed. Unfortunately, he does not make it in time and King Arthur, meets his end in the arms of his friend, who was discovered to be a sorcerer. Camelot mourns for it's king and all it's fallen friends, while Queen Guinevère assumes the throne as sole ruler of Camelot.

• The Darkest Hour (I and II)
  The grand feast of Samhain takes place: a time of year where those feel closest to the spirits of their ancestors as it is a time to remember those who they have lost and to celebrate their passing. It is soon after however, that an outlying village is attacked by a faceless ghost like creature. They are soon discovered as the Dorocha, in which no mortal can survive it's touch. They are repelled by the light but there is no physical way to kill it. The creatures have made their way to the city and the people are in fear. Arthur Pendragon and his closest knights embark on a mission to seal the veil and destroy this threat. Meanwhile in Camelot, despite Agravaine's attempt to close the castle gates to the people, Guinevère's advocacy convinces the council to open it to scared citizens from throughout the kingdom, housing them in this time of need. The knights are successful as they return to Camelot, sealing the veil and stopping the threat however, it was not without sacrifice. Upon return, they have a funeral for Sir Lancelot, who had given his life to protect the kingdom.
• The Wicked Day
  Camelot celebrates the Prince's birthday by holding a great feast with entertainment. This joyous occasion holds even the presence of the king, as he makes a rare appearance at the feast. Later that night however, an assassin sent by Odin, sets out to kill Arthur - who has been drugged - and Uther fights to defend his son. The king is wounded in the attempt and despite everyone's best efforts, he meets his end a few days later. The following day, a grand coronation takes place where Arthur Pendragon is crowned King of Camelot.

• His Father's Son
  Cmaelot faces war as Annis of Caerleon's army rally in response to the king's orders of executing Caerleon, Annis' husband. Camelot returns in kind, as their own army gathers and they set out to meet Caerleon's army. The two forces do not battle, for Arthur invokes the right of single combat, offering himself to fight Annis' Champion. The king is victorious, sparing her champion's life, and the war is brought to an end. This soon leads to a strong alliance between Camelot and Caerleon.
• A Servant of Two Masters
  Character specific.
• The Secret Sharer
  There is a traitor in the midst of Camelot and Gaius' abrupt disappearance makes him appear guilty. He soon returns, the others discovering that he was abducted, thus, clearing his name.
• Lamia
  A strange sickness has spread to the town of Longstead, as a few set out to discover what is causing it, among them: Merlin, Guinevère and the knights. When they do not return, the king grows concerned and he, along with Gaius, Agravaine and some knights, set out to discover why the others have been detained. They soon find out that a creature led them away from the city and that creature, is soon after killed.
• Lancelot Du Lac
  The king proposes to Guinevère, and the city rejoices the pending marriage. As is tradition, Arthur hosts a jousting tournament to honour his engagement to Guinevère. It is here that a familiar friend returns: Sir Lancelot. Believed to be dead, he explains that he had been taken in and brought back to health. The time for rejoicing however is short lived, for Guinevère - the soon to be wife of the king - and Lancelot are discovered late at night, the night before the wedding, in the throne room, kissing. Arthur is led to the room by his uncle and nearly kills Lancelot, Guinevère's intervention being what stops him. The two are arrested, and despite the laws that dictate Guinevère should be executed, Arthur instead banishes her from Camelot, to return on pain of death. Lancelot in his cell, takes his own life and Arthur ensures he is given a proper burial.
• A Herald of the New Age
  Events lead to King Arthur freeing all druids from persecution. He declares that they are a free people, not to be hunted or treated as anything but equal citizens to all.
• The Hunter's Heart
  Camelot's ancient claim to the lands of Gedref have long been in dispute with the kingdom of Nemeth. After months of secret negotiations, Arthur announces that he has reached an agreement: to marry Princess Mithian of Nemeth. The princess and her knights are subsequently invited to Camelot, where a great feast is held in their honour. It is soon after that the Festival of Ostara will take place, in which it is tradition in Camelot to hunt on that day. It is much to everyone's surprise that the princess enjoys hunting. However, it is not long after this hunt that the king changes his mind. He has called off the wedding, and offers Camelot's ancient claims of the land to the princess. She does not accept them, saying that such a thing can not be rushed into. Upon explanation of why a union of marriage could not work, Mithian leaves in peace.
• The Sword in the Stone (I and II)
  Camelot celebrates the Feast of Beltane, but the night brings upon chaos. Helios and Morgana have gotten hold of the well guarded siege tunnel plans, which has granted them access into the castle and made Camelot's forces vulnerable. The knights rally in attempt to ward off the enemies but their numbers are too great. It is in this moment, that Agravaine is revealed to be a traitor, having aided Morgana all this time. Many try to flee Camelot, and Merlin forces Arthur to leave the castle. The people who have fled, join the knights and those who managed to escape in the woods. Those who remain, are victim to Morgana's tyranny. They will not yield to her, so she burns their crops, destroys their homes, and forces knights to fight for scraps of food if they wish to eat, as well as tortures them. Those who have gathered in the forest, lay witness to the sight of Arthur pulling a legendary sword from the stone. It is here that the king regains his confidence and starts to devise a plan to take back the kingdom. With the help of the knights and friends along the way, they are successful. They storm the castle, killing those in their path, including Helios. Though for some reason, Morgana holds no magical power which has allowed them advantage. She flees, and Camelot is restored to order once more. Though it holds evidence of Morgana's tyranny, the people are hopeful with their sovereign. And they have cause to rejoice, for not long after regaining the city, the king weds Guinevère, and soon after, crowns her Queen of Camelot.

• Tears of Uther Pendragon (I and II)
  The Lady Morgana is found and a feast to celebrate her return takes place. However, it is here that the King begins his mental decline, rumours spreading throughout of his mental illness. As Cenred's army marches towards Camelot, Arthur must step in as acting king, and puts Camelot under a siege, confident in the fact that the castle walls have never been breached. The people prepare and the battle looks to be favourable towards Camelot, that is, until the dead rises as the knights are fighting a two front war: on one side Cenred's men, on the other, skeletons. Despite the challenges, Camelot is victorious and it is discovered that it was the Lady Morgana who broke the curse that raised the dead, so that the knights could focus on forcing Cenred's army back. Furthermore, the king's regains his mental health and Camelot embraces the victory.
• Goblin's Gold
  The physician seems to be charging a pretty coin for remedies of diseases that he has been telling others they possess, or may catch. But what they soon discover, is that whatever remedy they have bought, is not what it seems. Eventually it is discovered that Gaius was possessed by a Goblin and he works to undo the trail of havoc that the Goblin spread while in Gaius' body.
• Gwaine
  Camelot hosts a melee of swords, open to all knights to partake in, swords dulled to ensure no one is injured. However, during the fight, it is evident that two knights in particular have weapons to kill, and their target is Prince Arthur Pendragon. The odds are against him, until a mysterious knight intervenes and helps save his life. They take down the threat, and it is discovered that the man who stepped in is not in fact a knight. Despite Arthur's efforts to keep him in Camelot and honour him for the numerous times he saved his life, the king banishes him for previous crimes.
• The Crystal Cave
  Camelot mourns the pending death of the Lady Morgana as she has a life threatening injury of the head. However, due to a miracle, she regains life and all appears to be well once more.
• The Changeling
  Camelot welcomes its long time allies Lord Godwyn of Gawant and his daughter, Princess Elena. This alliance soon becomes solidified as Arthur Pendragon publicly proposes to the princess, and the wedding takes place soon after as Camelot celebrates the union. During the grand ceremony however, Arthur changes his mind, claiming that he and Elena do not love each other and that they should not marry out of obligation, but rather, for love. The ceremony abruptly ends without a wedding, but with a strong alliance still in tact.
• The Castle of Fyrien
  Character specific.
• The Eye of the Phoenix
  The time has come in the Prince's life to embark on a perilous journey to prove his worth to the people. The council gathers to hear of it and Arthur soon sets out, returning victorious.
• Love in the Time of Dragons
  Miracle cures make their way around Camelot, as a new, or returning, healer by the name of Alice enters the city. Not long after however, the king is discovered to be poisoned, no one knowing the antidote to such a thing. It is Alice who is discovered as the culprit and she is imprisoned. When the king is given the cure, he recovers and sentences her to death for her crimes. The execution however never takes place as she somehow manages to escape.
• Queen of Hearts
  The king believes his son's feelings for a servant are the result of an enchantment, and arrests Guinevère to be executed, accusing her of witchcraft. Arthur is put under lock and key, with guards stationed outside his door until the enchantment is broken. Much to everyone's surprise, an old sorcerer is caught planting a magical poultice in Arthur's room, thus exonerating Guinevère of her charges. The sorcerer is set to burn at the stake however, uses magic to escape and evade capture moments before reaching the pyre.
• The Sorcerer's Shadow
  The legendary Decennial Tournament takes place in Camelot. It is held every decade and is a tradition in the kingdom. There is only one rule of this tournament: there are no rules. It is open to all corners, and all ranks. All weapons are allowed to be used and because of this, it causes a great danger as there are those who fall to their death as a result. The prize is 100 gold coins, which is worth the risk to many. The reigning champion of this tournament, is the king himself: Uther Pendragon.
• The Coming of Arthur (I and II)
  Arthur embarks on a secret mission with only his manservant Merlin. However, in his prolonged absence, terror strikes Camelot. Morgana is revealed as not only the true daughter of Uther Pendragon, but also, a traitor as her and an immortal army raid the city. She forces Godfrey to name her queen of Camelot, with Morgause by her side. The king is imprisoned and in the week that follows, she reigns the land with tyranny. The people are in constant fear for their lives and the knights refuse to bow to her and swear their allegiance to her. As a result, she orders her men to open fire, killing innocent civilians. The reign of horror continues, and all hope seems lost. That is, until Arthur and a handful of men storm the city walls, freeing the imprisoned knights and miraculously defeating the immortal army. Morgana and Morgause escape, no trace of them to be found. But Camelot is secure once more as the true king and prince take their position upon the throne.

• The Curse of Cornelius Sigan
  A curse upon an old sorcerer's soul causes him to resurrect and wreak havoc on the city. Gargoyles attack and destroy all in their wake. The lower town is lost, and a path of bodies lay around the city, despite the knight's efforts to protect them. The sorcerer is eventually killed... again.
• The Once and Future Queen
  Camelot hosts a jousting tournament for its knights, but without their reigning Champion: Arthur Pendragon as he ventures from Camelot to hunt down a mysterious beast. His absence results in a new champion being named: Sir William.
• The Nightmare Begins
  In retaliation to the Lady Morgana's kidnapping, the king gathers all those suspected of being a druid to be imprisoned, questioned, and executed until his ward is returned. She is eventually brought back to Camelot safely.
• Lancelot and Guinevère
  Character specific.
• Beauty and the Beast (I and II)
  The king has remarried. Her name is Catrina and quickly upon the throne, her and the king make some questionable decisions. The first is to raise taxes for all citizens in Camelot. Many can not afford them and when Arthur advocates for the people and refuses to collect the taxes, he is disowned, and disinherited, no longer Prince or Heir to the throne. Shortly there after, a coronation takes place naming Catrina, Queen of Camelot and heir. It is not long after that the 'Queen's true identity is revealed: she is a troll. Yet the king seems unbothered by his fact as the council attempts to make him see reason, only to be threatened to be executed for speaking treason. This is soon discovered to be an enchantment and one that is eventually broken, and the troll killed, thus, returning Camelot to its former state of stability.
• The Witchfinder
  Aredian, the Witchfinder, is summoned to Camelot after one too many accounts of sorcery is observed. A man who instils fear in many and continues on a ruthless hunt to find who is using magic in the city. His findings lead to Gaius, but it is soon uncovered that he fabricated the evidence and involved many in this ploy. In this reveal of his corruption, he threatened the life of the king's ward, but before any harm to her could be done, he fell to his death from the high window of the castle.
• The Sins of the Father
  A knighting ceremony is interrupted when a mysterious knight who challenges Arthur to a duel to the death. While the crowd watches the next day in the arena, the mystery woman is victorious yet instead of taking his life, forces him to make a promise instead.
• The Lady of the Lake
  A mysterious beast attacks the city only at night, leaving a wake of destruction in it's path until it is ultimately stopped and killed by Arthur and the knights.
• Sweet Dreams
  Dignitaries from the five Kingdoms attend Camelot for a grand peace treaty, one that will bring Camelot and the others to a new era. However, things take a drastic turn when the daughter (Princess Vivian|) of an overprotective king (Olaf) falls for Arthur Pendragon, and he her. The two are caught in her bed chambers and this threatens the fate of the kingdoms. Olaf challenges Arthur to a fight to the death, however in the arena, when Arthur is victorious, he does not kill Olaf and instead, speaks of peace. The treaty is solidified and each dignitary leaves in peace.
• The Witch's Quickening
  Character specific.
• The Fires of Idirsholas
  The entire city is placed under a sleeping spell, causing disorientation when they awake. Everything seems as it was, with only one major difference: the King's ward Morgana, is missing.
• The Last Dragonlord
  Camelot is on the brink of destruction as night after night, the great dragon - who has somehow managed to escape imprisonment from the caves deep within the castle -- terrorizes the city, burning down homes and claiming people's lives. All hope seems to be lost but the knights of Camelot ride out to stop the creature, once and for all. To the people's surprise and delight, they are successful as to their knowledge, the prince killed the dragon.

The below timeline highlights major events throughout the series! If you have never seen the show before, or are looking for some different plot points for your character, we hope this thread helps in giving you some ideas and inspiration! Please take note of the following regarding the timeline:

• It does not describe each and every event that occurred in each episode, but rather, explains things that have effected Camelot or other kingdoms as a whole.
• Each event is outlined with what the civilians would know! For example: the audience is aware of how often Merlin's magic has saved Camelot but most people within the kingdom are not aware of it. The events are from the perspective of majority of those within Camelot.
• Any episode that primarily effects individual characters (i.e Merlin, Guinevère, Morgana, etc) is listed "Character Specific". Events that effect the royal family (the king and prince) to the effect of their rule and leadership, the council, most knights, the citizens, etc, are outlined below.
