.:History:.
Born to Tom and his wife, Elyan was born in a mannor belonging to Sir Leon's family. He was the first child, and therefore, the oldest when his younger sister, Guinevère, came along. Soon after their mother's death, the family moved to the city of Camelot, so that Tom could earn more money and find more work in what he did and enjoyed best -- being a blacksmith. As time went on and he grew older, Elyan grew more and more interested in his father's work, and began to watch the man when he would work at the forge.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
Over time, Tom would finally begin to teach his son the craft, and Elyan fell more in love with it. He loved shaping the metal, planning out how it would appear, feeling the cool steel in his hands. He fell so completely for the craft that when he grew older, he began to travel the lands, finding work wherever he could, stopping at towns for extended periods of time to work in forges, and the usual. Many times he would dig himself into a whole, but thankfully his father and sister were always able to help him get out of any mess he had made.
The more he stayed away, however, the less he would write his family or come see them. One day, he would stop contacting them altogether, leaving them to only be able to ponder at whether or not he was dead or alive. Spending the years doing various things, one day he would find himself kidnapped by Cenred's men all in a cruel plot to get Arthur Pendragon killed. Here he was reunited with his sister, and when she was released to return to tell the Prince of his being there, to lure the Prince to them, Elyan didn't mind being locked up, knowing that his sister well well and alive.
When she actually returned, and was caught, Elyan was surprised, but pleasantly so, to find out that she was in love with the young Pendragon, and he with her. He was happy that his sister's life had taken such a favorable turn for her, but the fact they were in a dungeon in Cenred's castle didn't appeal to him. When they finally all escaped, Elyan would return to Camelot, where he would live with his sister and work at his father's old forge.
And not much, Camelot would be attacked by an Immortal Army sent by Cenred and Morgause, Elyan knew he couldn't defeat them and he would be much more use to Camelot alive than dead. Therefore, when they attacked, he hid inside the house and remained hidden so that no one would find him. However, he didn't know if his sister was safe or not, as she was inside of the citidel during the attack.
When Arthur mistook him for an enemy upon his return to Camelot, he accompanied him, Merlin, and Gwaine into Camelot to find his sister. Sent off to search ahead, they Gwaine and Elyan would witness Uther Pendragon being dragged to the throne room, before the returned to inform Arthur. Ordered to leave Camelot with the Court Physician, Gaius, and head for the forest while the Prince and his servant stayed, they did just that, only to later be informed that Morgana was now Queen of Camelot.
Despite not being a noble, Elyan was later knighted by Arthur along with most of the rest of their group, and helped them rescue Uther and the surviving Knights of Camelot to free the city.
