.:Name of Character:. Mary-Jane Leofric
.:Nick Name:. Mare
.:Age:. 18
.:Status:. Peasant| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. Eyes of the purest blue is the first thing you will notice of this young woman. Though her exotic tan is the next thing to come. Most women stay indoors and are not as deeply tanned as this young woman. Though it is quite apparent that she is a beauty she is for the most part comparred to her elder sister Lillian. Though Mary-Jane is a beautiful girl most people say she is lost in comparrison to the angelic features of her elder sister. Her short five foot two frame is mirrored by her lithe weight of only one hundred pounds. Her hair cascades in light audurn curls that reach the center of her back. Her delicate waist flares into full hips.
Her hands delicate appendages which would seem more suited to a musician instead of a regular bar maid. Full luscious lips the color of roses. A natural blush addorns her cheeks with a delicate hue giving her an air of a blushing maiden all of the time. When she smiles dimples can be seen in both of her cheeks though that is only if you are lucky enough to see the smile. And if it is full you shall see straight white teeth not utterly perfect but close enough that you could not see any flaw to them. Her face for the most part is blemish free except for a simple scar that runs across the left side of her chin down her throat. Though it is easily over-looked because the line is so thin. If you look even closer you will see the constant fear in her eyes and a slight trembling in her delicate hands.
.:Height:. 5'2
.:Portrayed by:. Kate Beckinsale| ~ • ~ | Personality | ~ • ~ |
.:Personality:. Fearful, is the easiest way to describe the woman of many ways. Though it is not everyone she fears. It is only the male gender that she is afraid of. Though with her profession it is quite difficult for her to hide that simple fact. Her eyes will dart everywhere if there is a man near by and if he gets too close she will flinch away. Though she tries desperatly to hide it, it is quite obvious that it lurks just below the surface. But around people she is most comfortable with there is nothing but smiles on the young woman's face. Even threw her fear there is a constant kindness that holds an aura over the young woman. Though most people don't know her she is well known as the Singing Barmaid of Slaughtered Lamb Inn. A voice of many talents. A voice that could easily draw people to her or push them away.
No one understands her and that is exactly the way she feels. Though a deep sadness hold tight to the young girl. She dislikes that she is constantly comparred to her sister. Its either her curves are to small, she does not smile enough. Why can't you be more like Lillith? It is all because Mary-Jane saw threw the deceit that her elder sister wrapped around her. The woman was so shallow that she couldn't care less that she was spending all of their fathers money on frivolous expenses. Mary-Jane could never hate the woman that her was her sister. But she avoided her as much as she could. Taking the only gift that she had ever recieved, a silver grey mare, and riding from the castle walls toward the surrounding woods where a small grove awaited her. A grove where she was aloud to be alone to smile and laugh without having to deal with other people like her sister.

.:History:. Mary-Jane's parents where nothing even close to a love match. Their parents grew tired of their feud and set the two up to marry out of friendship to one another. The first child who came along was Lillith. The darling daughter that was spoiled and given everything she desired. Only a year later another child was born. Mary-Jane. Sadly a year after the young girl was born the mother died of an unknown illness. Though her father cared naught that the woman he hated was dead he delt all of his love and attention on his first born daughter. He could find nothing wrong with the girl. But soon after he was forced to hire a nanny who could look after both girls for he had a life of his own and a job he had to do. Her father is a blacksmith, so he could not put all of his attention to his daughter like he wanted to.
Year upon year past and both young girls grew of age where they could marry. Lillith, having grown into a spoiled child demanded only the best and though she was pursued by many elligable men she could not find one that would fit her standards. Not one of them caught her interest. She grew bored with men easily and tossed them asside after they had bought her gifts and she got all that she could out of them. In the year of Mary-Jane's sixteenth birthday she found a man who not only persued her sister but herself as well. The young man could not seem to deside of which sister he found more beautiful. In a jealous rage, Lillith after seeing that Mary-jane was falling in love with the young man slept with him. Soon after the suit with which he had been persueing Mary-Jane quickly ended. Breaking the heart of the young girl. When Mary-Jane confronted him asking if she had done something wrong his only reply was a slap to the face and the calling her of a whore.
Poor Mare grew warry of people after loosing her heart to a man who's now only interest was her sister. Falling out of love for the young sixteen year old girl was much harder than falling in love. Mare still hoped that the man would see that she was just as good as her sister. She did not demand attention or gifts only love. That was the one thing that Mare wanted most in her life. To be loved. Though she didn't end up as her sister did people where drawn to Mare because of her kindness. Because of the way she was different. Yet others comparred her to her sister. It broke the poor girls heart to be comparred to the sister who's only pleasure was to make others miserable.
When her father discovered of Lillith's wanton ways he demanded that she marry the man whom Mare loved. Lillith took great pleasure in the hurt in Mare's eyes the day that the two of them married. That night as Mare returned to her home on the outskirts of the city she was attacked and accousted by a very drunken brother in law. The man whom she had loved beat and raped her. When he realized what he had done he took the girl from the city and dumped her in a glade in the woods where she was found by a Sorceress named Vesper. Vesper taking pity on the young girl nursed the dieing girl and gave her back her life. But the damage had been done. Mare was never the same after that night.
After another year passed by the young girl took a job for she never wanted to marry for with the change in Mare can the fear that would stay with her for the rest of her life. A fear of all things male. She took a job and now has her own home out in the surrounding Villiage.
