.:Name of Character:. Thayne Alvar Caradas .:Nick Name:. Thay, Al, Cara, Idiot .:Age:. 20 years .:Status:. Distant Nobility / Nomad
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:.
Thayne is a decently-built young man with thick black-brown hair that comes to his shoulders. He has gray-blue eyes that are usually set in an emotionless glower. He has no set style, as he wears whatever he has, which includes clothes that hint at nobility, and clothes that would show him as a complete peasant. He isn't seen at the front of crowds unless it involves something that involves or interests him. When not wanting to be paid attention to, he wears a dark cloak with a hood pulled far over his face and walks where there are more shadows than light. .:Height:. 5'9" .:Portrayed by:. Hans Matheson

.:Personality:.
Thayne is a very conflicted young man. When younger, he was tormented by the children of his village, both younger and older. He was despised by the adults of the village because of rumors that the children spread. This event led Thayne to become more distant and closer to his older brother, Cecil. However, as time wore on, even that personality began to change. He loved his brother dearly, though the overprotective Ulric began to wear on Thayne's nerves, as he was unable to protect himself, but the whole village respected the older boy.
When Ulric's final fate came to be, Thayne finally cracked. After that day, he has kept a lot to himself, and became an even darker person than before. No joy fills the young man's heart. Those few moments of happiness and joy are rare, even welcomed, by him. Magic being the reason for his brother's death, he both hates it and fears it. Still, he practices it and lives by it.
He has become reserved, and -- to some people's opinions at least -- even shy. Really, he just prefers to keep to himself and not get close to anyone, as he believes that if you get close to someone, they have an easier chance of hurting you by betraying you and your trust (a mommy-induced issue). Because of this, he travels a lot, that way he doesn't get close to anyone.
The power of magic is tempting, as is power in general. Thayne is no different, he is not immune to this temptation. He is torn between using it for good as his brother preached to him, and using it for his own benefit, to further himself in the world. .:Strengths:.
- Magic
- Hiding his intentions -- most of the time
- Playing the lyre and singing
- Disguising himself
.:Weaknesses:.
- Keeping his anger over mentions of his family in check
- Choosing between good and dark
- Has a hard time sharing emotions and feelings
- Is quite reserved
.:Magic Abilities:.
- General magic use, and dark magic
.:Special Skills:.
Thayne has several special skills: He is good at playing a lyre and singing, as well as disgusing himself. He's a good actor when needed to be, and knowns the land almost as much as he knows himself, as he has traveled a lot. .:View On Magic:.
Thayne both fears and loves magic. It's like a game to him: You don't know which side will win. However, while he practices it in secret, he wants to be able to practice it without having to keep it a secret. He also hates it, as with it, he killed his older brother. Thayne, with his magic, is torn between the Light, and the Darkness. .:Accents:. A subtle British accent

This is left of my soul, What ever it be, Let this at least. He loves at rest, For heaven's sake.
Ada Maignart, a noble by her parent's, married a peasant name Ulric Caradas in a distant village in Cenred's kingdom. They led simple lives, besides the anger that came from Ada's family: They disapproved of her marrying a peasant and moving to a peasant-filled village. Ada was a powerful sorceress, and when she had Cecil, he too eventually became a powerful sorcerer under her tutalage. Six years after Cecil was born, Thayne Alvar Caradas was born on a warm summer night. He grew up sheltered by his parents, and when he was five years old, his mother began to teach him magic.
However, after a dispute with one of the village children at the age of six, Thayne became the object of torment for the bored young ones in the village. On many occasions he would come home hurt, having been beat up by the kids, and his mother would constantly tell him to make them pay using the magic she taught him. He always refused because of his brother's guideance. Cecil became his protector and would often scare away Thayne's tormenters, as they feared the physically strong young boy.
When Thayne was five -- and very close to his mother, despite her opinion on the village kids and him -- his mother would proceed to use magic to kill villagers. Torn, Thayne begged her to stop, only to get hurt in the process as she turned against him with her magic.Cecil had gone home to tell their father, and Ulric, having lost his love for the corrupt woman, went up to her, having her believe he would join her, and killed her with a steel dagger. After being stabbed, she disappeared in a huff of smoke, claiming they would pay. It was assumed that she was dead.
The older Thayne grew, the more distant he became, deciding he couldn't trust anyone anymore, as they would hurt you by betraying you. Ever since his mother's magical betrayal, the villagers -- children and adults alike -- were given a bigger reason to hate him, or so they believed. They children began spreading rumors that he was a demon in disguise.
One particular day when he was fifeteen, Thayne got fed up with being beat up by a group of children, and revealed his magic by catching them on fire. He had proceeded home, where Cecil would find him sulking in his room, playing a lyre that his mother had given him one long ago night to cheer him up. He tried to comfort the upset young lad, but had gone into a lecture about using magic for evil. Thayne, not in the mood, had became angry enough that he used magic without realizing it, to throw a dagger at Cecil.
Realizing what he did, and realizing that he couldn't save his dying brother, Thayne fled in fright without saying goodbye to the dying man. During his flight, his father had found Cecil's dead body with Thayne's dagger in it, and had regretfully informed the town's guards. Thayne, trying to lay low, was forced to escape in fear, where he killed several villagers that tried to stop him.
Ever since, Thayne has lived in the shadow of his memory, torn between choosing to use his magic for good, or for evil. He goes to towns to play his lyre and sing, to make money that he can live off of.
