What It Takes To Be A Knight of Camelot . . .
Being a Knight of Camelot is often dreamed of by many! For those who are given the opportunity, it is not easy to obtain this title. There are many prerequisites that a nobleman must have in order to qualify, and intense discipline and training which they must undergo to pass the ultimate test! The following is a list of qualifications and necessities for someone to become a Knight of Camelot:
- They must be of a noble family in Camelot, or have blood relations of those residing in Camelot. This is part of the code of knighthood developed to avoid spies and untrustworthy knights on Camelot's army as those in Camelot must swear allegiance to their king and sovereign.
- They must commence their training at an early age, for knights train their entire lives. Therefore, being to acquire the necessary skills at a young age. Their training is something that does not cease once they are knighted for they must stay in shape and practice as much as they can.
- They must possess the general qualities expected of a knight: honor, loyalty, valor, honesty, obedience, chivalry, respect, mercy, etc. Knights are extremely well respected and they must have strength of heart, not just strength in combat.
- They must pass the ultimate test of endurance and strength, one of great difficulty, which determines whether they are knighted or not: They must last for one minute in combat with Arthur Pendragon.
NOTES:
Those canons knights [Elyan, Gwaine, Lancelot and Percival] are exceptions to these rules and we are permitting limited other non-noble characters, particularly OCs, to become knights.
No Knights of Camelot can possess any sort of magical abilities.
