"Remember, nothing is as it seems."
| ~ • ~ | Character Basics | ~ • ~ |"I'm Grettir. The Keeper of the Bridge."
.:Name of Character:. Grettir
.:Nick Name:. Shorty [though I don't recommend you call him that]
.:Age:. Older than dirt.
.:Race:. Perilous Lander? He is of the old religion.
.:Status:. Nomad| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |"I have to say, you're not as short as I thought you'd be."
.:Physical Appearance:. Grettir is, short. And his size is often the first thing that someone notices about him. Not that he minds; he enjoys making people feel awkward about it. His height does not define him though. He may be small, but he exudes confidence and comfort despite his unnatural shortness. He dresses in regular clothing, not exactly of the finest cloth. It is dark, brown or neutral colors, and slightly shabby, since vanity is not one of his qualities. He usually wears a little dark blue cap on his head, and a brown vest over most of his shirts for added warmth. His skin is a bit tanned as he spends most of his time outdoors and is often stained with a bit of dirt. Overall, he's not very concerned with his appearance, and prefers to keep it that way.
.:Height:. He's very tall: a whole three foot, six inches!
.:Portrayed by:. Warwick Davis [brilliant actor!]| ~ • ~ | Personality | ~ • ~ |"I mean no harm to either of you. And I'd thank you to mean no harm in return."
.:Personality:. Now what can be said about Grettir. What he lacks in size, he makes up for in power. He is extremely intelligent, having a wide range of knowledge regarding just about anything. He offers advice to those he feels requires it, yet at the same time does not tell them everything. He reveals what is important, but perhaps not everything that they need to know. He has a bit of a playful personality, having a good sense of humor and showing this in many ways [i.e. turning swords into flowers]. He is polite and patient, usually reacting calmly to threatening situations as he knows he has the power to protect himself which actually makes him a rather confident individual.
.:Strengths:. Extremely powerful sorcerer, intelligent, constantly underestimated
.:Weaknesses:. His petite size, lack of physical strength, constantly underestimated
.:Magic Abilities:. As a very powerful sorcerer, he has many abilities: he is a seer, he has natural magic, he is able to transform objects without the use of saying spells or using charms, he is able to disappear and reappear, and so on and so forth.
.:Special Skills:. Reading people, knowing what to say, how to say and when to say it.
.:Accents:. Harsh British accent.| ~ • ~ | History | ~ • ~ |"I only wish to see the Fisher King's lands restored and prosperity reign again."
.:Birthplace:. The Fisher King's kingdom
.:Family:. Unknown
.:Occupation:. Keeper of the Bridge
.:Current Location of Residence:. Temporarily, the bridge at the border of the Fisher King's kingdom, but once his lands are restored, he becomes a wanderer
.:History:. Not much is known about Grettir's past and good luck trying to ask him. He does not disclose such information about himself, as he finds there are far more important things to discuss. That, and no one has really asked him where he's from and who his family is. He is well connected to the others who follow the Old Religion, as his old age keeps him set in these ways as well. He is neutral in the sense that he does not fight for one side more than the other. He tends to avoid such violence, set in his own personal goals. With such traits as this, he does not have much of a well known past.
He had been confined to protecting the bridge, therefore, granting or preventing entrance into the Fisher King's lands, depending on who wished to cross. He has waited a long time, and very patiently for the arrival of those who would do this, and sure enough, they came. He permitted Arthur, Merlin and Gwaine and that was only because he knew they were coming, and he knew that they would restore the Fisher King's lands, just not in the way one would assume. When the King was finally granted death after suffering for quite some time, this liberated Grettir of his duties. So now, he travels the world, keeping himself busy yet always returns every now and then tot he comfort of his home: to the comfort of his little bridge.
