It felt as though they’d been locked up for years. The hours passing by in a dreary haze of confusion, torment and betrayal. The one question was playing on everyone’s lips. How could she? How could she of all people turn against those who she was closest too – including the man who had raised her? The cell itself was crammed. There wasn’t anywhere to hardly move. Lucan had kept himself huddled in one corner, away from everyone else who was sitting on the floor with just the silence for company. They’d come and taken Sir Leon and other friends to be killed unless they pledged their allegiance to Morgana. Luc knew that no one would, and then day he would bow down to her would be the day he was pushed into his resting place six feet under. They hadn’t killed the knights. Morgana had ordered that innocent townspeople were to be slaughtered instead. For once he was glad to be in the cell, he couldn’t deal with watching what his friends had to. They’d been returned to their cells – lord only knew what Morgana would do to them next, but it wouldn’t be pretty.
He scratched the back of his neck and leant his head back against the wall. He hoped that Arthur was somewhere trying to figure how to break them all out. It wouldn’t surprise him – Arthur wasn’t only a prince who needed his kingdom back in his own hands, but a friend who would need all the help he could get in achieving this.
The door to the cell opened and in walked two of the guards. Vacant, expressionless and soulless were just a few of the words that Lucan could come up with to sum them up. He rolled his eyes as they headed over to him, ignoring the protests of the others. They couldn’t escape, even if they wanted to. Their paths were blocked by a group standing outside the cell. They wanted him, of course they did. Someone always seemed to want his blood one way or another.
“Hello boys” Lucan grinned up at them, “Looking for me?”
They said nothing. This was expected.
“Where are you taking him!” He heard Sir Yvain ask. Of course he was met with no reply, “Luc!” he called as he and the others watched on, eyes wide.
“See you on the other side guys!” Luc called back, trying to keep their spirits as high as possible, they needed it at a time like this – even if it wouldn’t be accepted. The guards practically dragged him through the hallways and then into the throne room. It was barely recognisable.
“I must say interior design isn’t really your forte” Lucan looked around the room and wrinkled his nose, his eyes then coming to rest on the woman who was there before him.

"Nor is humor yours Sir Lucan. Then again, you always were a bit of a bumbling baffoon," Queen Morgana replied, her face set in a smirk that could chill to the core. She had to admit; watching the knights be dragged in by their arms and hurled at her feet was a heady feeling.
Even if it was often tainted with a streak of anger as they continued to stand against her.
The young Queen looked at the knight before her. Sir Lucan had always been shy in her recollections of him, always stammering or embarrassed when a lady would speak to him. She had found it quite charming since some of the other knights were far more cocky than confident, but she was not the beloved ward of Uther anymore. She was a ruler and thus her personal feelings had to be put aside.
"How are you enjoying your new accomodations? I know they are nothing compared to your old home, but we strive to provide lodgings befitting the guest," Morgana said, her smile still in place, though her eyes sparked with that usual cold fire. And the dungeons right now were so befitting the knights.
They were traitors to the one upon the throne, and rebellious troublemakers for her. She was giving them the chance to join her, the chance to live, and they kept spitting it back in her face. Well, she could only be expected to put up with that for so long. If they couldn't be turned, they would have to put dealt with. Simple as that.

Lucan shrugged at Morgana’s words. “I try” he stated, “But at least im doing something right” at this he looked to her and smirked. She would never break him. If she hadn’t managed to convince Sir Leon to pledge allegiance then there was no way on earth that she would ever get him to do the same.
"How are you enjoying your new accommodation? I know they are nothing compared to your old home, but we strive to provide lodgings befitting the guest,"
“Heh, can’t complain really, I didn’t expect anything more or less of you if im honest” he told her. “Then again I’ve made some new friends. Mr and Mrs Rat and their children. Good company if you grow tried of imagining a tyrant queens demise, over and over again in your head” He said this last part slowly with a little menacing look. Never before had he felt any hate for a woman until Morgana had betrayed them all. Now all he wanted to do was see her fall.
He was either going to die now, or be killed slowly later on for his words. He wasn’t going to take Morgana and her so called ‘reign’ seriously. Why should he? She knew nothing of knowing how to get people to yield to her. Especially after kicking the King off of the throne and then killing just to make a point. One, which technically had been meant for the Knights.
“Oh…” he suddenly looked at her as though everything had fallen into place, “I see…reign not going as well as you thought eh?” he smirked this time, “it mustn’t be seeing as you have so much time on your hands to drag us up here to have a little chat”. One person came to Lucan’s mind right now. Camila. Where was she? He hoped she was ok. He’d thought about her a lot these last couple of days – her smile, her giggle. It was highly likely now that he would never see him again. Would she care? Probably not, but at least he’d tried. Hopefully she’d find someone more worthy. If Morgana was going to kill him then he’d be dying for her as well as Camelot.
He looked up at Morgana and narrowed his eyes. “If you think that I’ll pledge my allegiance to you then im afraid you’re wasting your time”

Lucan was a smart mouth, but then again, he always had been. In her memory, she couldn't remember a time in which he hadn't been laughing and joking. Deceptive it was, how laid back he appeared. Surely he understood what was on the line here? Well, no he wouldnt. All of the knights merely assumed she would end their lives if they failed to pledge their loyalty to her. If only it were so simple, she would have ended them the moment she took the throne. No, there were other ways to handle people like this. Leon she was working on. Princess Yassia would be the perfect leverage over him, and Lucan had no idea what was in store for him.
Ignoring the clear jibe his words were made to be, Morgana pushed herself up from her throne, and it was hers, and stepped down to approach the knight on the floor. From her position, it wasn't hard to look down on Sir Lucan, and Morgana tilted her head to the side for a moment, as if contemplating him. Perhaps she was, perhaps she wasn't. Finally, Morgana straightened and snapped her fingers.
"Guards," she called, and the two men who had hauled Lucan up from the dungeons were beside her in an instant. She lowered her hand and sighed. "It seems you are correct Sir Lucan," the Queen replied, turning on her heel to walk back to her throne. "I am clearly wasting my time with you. Take him back to the dungeons." The last part was directed to the guards, who nodded once each and reached down to haul Lucan back to his feet. Morgana reached her throne as they began to head for the doors.
"Enjoy the dungeons Sir Lucan," she called over her shoulder. "Oh and when you have returned him guards, please bring me Lady Camila Faintree. It is time I spoke with her as well." Morgana finished this with a small wave of her hand. Lucan may have thought the slight interest he showed in Lady Faintree went unnoticed. Perhaps it had... by all but Morgana. Now that interest, and his insolence, was going to cost him.

She thought that she was so far above him. Physically she may well have been as he was on the floor and she was now standing over him, but she didn’t know just how low she was. Lucan’s lip curled in disgust – Morgana wouldn’t get away with this, and if it meant taking drastic measures himself then so be it. He never wished death on anyone, especially a woman – but she was no woman. She was a tyrant and a blood thirsty vixen.
“What a shame – just when I thought we were opening up to one another” he smiled falsely as the guards hauled him up on her orders. More time in the dungeons to contemplate and wait. The waiting wasn’t hell, but the thought of it was. “Although to be honest, I didn’t think the conversation would be very interesting on your part”.
He was dragged away to the doors, Morgana flouncing back to her throne – clearly thinking that she had the upper hand in this. "Oh and when you have returned him guards, please bring me Lady Camila Faintree. It is time I spoke with her as well."
WHAT!
No. That wasn’t possible. He wouldn’t allow this. For Morgana to infest Camila’s mind with her devious games, just as she was trying to do so with everyone else. “No!” he called back angered, “DON’T YOU DARE!”
He struggled against the guards, ready to take Morgana on once and for all. There was no way in hell that he’d let Morgana in so much of a 100-mile radius of Camila. And when it came down to it – Morgana really didn’t know whom she was dealing with here. Clearly she knew that Lucan carried a torch for Cam – it wasn’t even a torch, more like a beacon, and if anything were to happen to her then he would never forgive himself. Especially if Morgana was the one to allow it.
“If you so much as touch her then I swear that I will kill you!” he yelled. Blimey! How strong were these guards anyway? It was as though they were made of stone, except they could never crumble, although Morgana seemed to think that the person she was standing in front of could. “Leave Cam out of this! She has nothing to do with you!”.
Lucan knew that the struggle would be in vain, but he wasn’t prepared to give up on Camelot and the person that he cared about the most. Camila.
Note: Yes, Morgana has touched a nerve!

She hadn't even reached the throne when Lucan's angry yell sounded behind her. Not that she had expected any different of course. The key to getting control of these people was to find their weak points and exploit them. Lucan's was Camila. Well, it was the closest to a weak point she had found in him. Morgana turned slightly with a raised eyebrow as Lucan struggled against her guards. He got nowhere of course, but it was entertaining to watch him try.
âIf you so much as touch her then I swear that I will kill you!â
His threats meant nothing.
And yet Morgana couldn't help but smirk. These men weren't very smart, allowing themselves to be exposed and vulnerable because of a single woman. Leon's weakness had been Yassia, Lucan's was Camila. Even Arthur had fallen prey to it. And Guinevère was a large weakness for one who was supposed to be a future King. If Morgana had harboured any doubts about this pressure point in Lucan's life, they were firmly quashed at his reaction.
"There you are wrong Sir Lucan," Morgana corrected the errant knight. "She, and every other person in Camelot have something to do with me. It is upon you and the other knights how smoothly their transition into life under my reign happens... if it happens at all," she finished, turning fully to face Lucan, the smile gone from her face. This was serious, and the new Queen wanted them all to know exactly how serious she was. The time for games was over. Morgana was queen now and she wasn't going to tolerate the reckless treason with which these men acted and spoke.
As far as she was concerned, they should count themselves lucky to still be breathing at this point.

Lucan could feel the anger burning through his veins as he continued to struggle against the guards. Had Morgana given the same ultimatum to Leon too? Her idea seemed to be hurting those who were a weakness to him and his friends, in order to make them yield to her. Over his dead body. Lucan would rather die a thousand times over for Camila.
He stopped struggling. “I see how it is” Lucan scoffed, “You have to resort to desperate measures in order for people to bow down to you” his eyes narrowed, “and to think that once upon a time you were the most beloved of Camelot”. Even the look in her eyes had changed when he’d first seen her in all of her evil glory. She was no longer the ward who everyone adored, but the tyrant who was set high upon a throne of thorns.
“I would rather be put to death for the woman I love, than watch you drain the life out of her slowly to torment me” he growled slightly. “I’d rather be put to death for the King and Camelot if it meant staying loyal to them, and I’d happily take the axe a hundred times over to prove my loyalty.” He’d taken an oath, he lived and breathed the code, and treason was not what he’d pledged allegiance to.
“I suppose you gave the same fate to Leon – tormented him with his weakness just to make him think carefully about his decision. He won’t yield to you either, and I very much doubt that all the men in that dungeon with me will too”
He was heading for more than a slap, but he’d rather tell Morgana what he thought of her, rather than die without a fight.

How she desired nothing more than to scorch the flesh from his bones for those comments. It was hipocritical, much like Uther's words were. They said she was evil, that she was a deadly snake who needed to be killed. Why did none of them see their precious King in the same light? Had he not murdered hundreds of innocents in his thirst for vengence against magic? How many had he killed while claiming Camelot? She did not know precicely what had started his vendetta against her kind, but it no longer mattered. No reason would ever be justification enough for what Uther had done to them.
She had once been the beloved of Camelot, but that Morgana had been ignorant of the truth of her birth. The truth of what she was. This one was no longer.
"You preach loyalty and fighting for what you believe in, yet condemn those who would do the same. You think the only people worthy of existing in peace are those who look and think like you," Morgana replied evenly. Angry she may be, but she would no dignify Lucan's barbs with a reaction expressing it. She did however walk back towards the prisoner.
"It may surprise you to know this Lucan, but I do not desire the death of everyone in Camelot," the Queen added. "I do not wish to kill, but I will do what is neccessary to free this land from Uther's poison. There is only one death in Camelot that I desire above all else. And Uther's time to die will come soon enough." The guards held Lucan firm, taking his threats far more seriously than the young Queen did.
"Who is worse? The one who stands against the popular opinion, or the one who defends it blindly?"

Lucan wasn’t going to listen to morgana’s words. She was talking about the death of the king. The thought itself sickened him. There was no way that he or any of the other knights would allow her to pull something like that off, and he wasn’t about to let her anywhere near Camila. “Am I supposed to answer that?” he mused, “I wasn’t dragged here for 99 questions Morgana, you brought me up here so you and your…whatever the hell they are, could make me yield to you, and to find my weakness – congratulations, you’ve found it.” He told her. “Is that what you did to Leon too? Find his weakness? Of haven’t you yet?” he looked quizzically at her. Camila would kill him herself if she’d have heard or seen the scene in the hall now. She’d tell him that he was a fool, her fool. He couldn’t be sure if she loved him like he had come to with her. That didn’t matter right now, Lucan just wanted her safe – whether he’d pay the price for it or not. He wasn’t doing this for bravery thought, but was doing it to protect her from the one woman who could cause her harm.
“I don’t see how Camila has anything to do with this – she’s hardly the type of girl to follow the rules, especially yours” his eyes narrowed slightly, “and if you so much as think of hurting her, then I swear that I will find a way to kill you Morgana.”

"Your ignorant defending of Uther is answer enough Lucan," Morgana spat. She wasn't getting angry, but it was high time these people learned that trifling with her was not something done lightly. Even if she had torture and execute everyone they'd ever looked at twice to prove it. She was done being lenient. Now it was time to remind these people who their Queen was. And what she could do.
"You looked at her Lucan. You spoke with her, you developed feelings for her. That alone makes her have everything to do with this. For it is you who turned her into your weakness. If you cannot defend such a weakness, it is better not to have it," the Queen replied. "The time has come for you and your friends to learn what happens when you disrespect your sovereign." Turning from the man, Morgana turned to the guards.
"Find the girl. You will bring her here to me. If she struggles, subdue her. I do not care what means you use, so long as she isn't spoiled or hurt too badly. She still needs to be able to suffer," she instructed them, glancing at Lucan. "First you will return him to the dungeons." Morgana then turned back and reclaimed her seat on her throne.
"This will teach you to think before you speak again Lucan. Your words will now decide the fate of not only yourself, but her as well," the young woman said, a smirk on her features. "Goodbye Lucan." With that, she gestured to the guards and they hauled Lucan out of the room to drag him back down to the dungeons.
[Hope that was ok! I thought this could be a good place to finish the thread off! Feel free to post again if you want to!]
