Arthur had to admit that he was growing increasingly excited for the events that were only a matter of days away. It was the moment that every sole heir to the throne waited for . . . alright, so maybe not the moment, but certainly one of them. He would soon be crowned Prince Arthur of Camelot, as he was of age now. Of course, with this title came a tremendous amount of responsibilities and pressures but it was not something that was new to Arthur. He had learned from a very young age, ever since he became well versed in politics, that he would have to lead an entire kingdom and that inevitably came with immense pressure and stresses. He still felt that need to constantly prove to the king that he was a son that a father could have pride in. He was not sure how much success he had in this, but often felt as a disappointment to him. Of course, such deep rooted insecurities remained in Arthur's heart. For on the surface, he remained completely composed and confident. At times, even over confident. But if others did not see him as such, they would not be so willing to follow his lead and trust his judgment.
With the ceremony came several noble families . . . if not all of them. They would be attending, and the arrivals had already commenced. Among them was a woman he had known since childhood. She was a dear friend of his, and quite admittedly, had grown into a rather ravishing young woman. The king greeted her family and it was now his duty to escort her to her guest chambers whilst her father and mother continued to consort with the king. Arthur patiently waited for her at the door of the throne room. It would be quite nice to catch up with her, since it had been a significant amount of time since they last had spoken. This would give them the perfect opportunity and perhaps even spend some extended time with each other, as he was going to propose a ride in the woods or something of that nature. Yes, even as a soon to be crowned Prince, he made sure to designate some time for fun. When he saw her approach he smiled at her, finding her even more beautiful at this close range. "Lady Camila," he greeted, lowering his head a bit in a respectful manner.

Arthur's crowning was quickly approaching and many noble families were invited to the event. Among many was a family from the Faintree Estate. Sir Aaron of Faintree and his wife, Lady Eloise, had known the King for many years, in fact they used to have their daughter Camila socialize with Arthur when they were younger.
Walking into one of the great halls, Camila stood between her parents as they found Uther. There was a quick exchange of pleasantries, Cam being a little extra enthusiastic for the King. Uther was a great man, but honestly a little bit of a bore. Luckily, she didn't have to stick around him much longer, especially now that her father had started on a long story about a recent hunting trip, she was to be escorted to her room by none other than the future prince himself. It had been a long time since Camila had actually seen Arthur. She had been well aware that he had been standing in the doorway this whole time, she had seen him as soon as she had entered the room. Arthur had certainly changed over the years. He was very handsome, that much was obvious.
Cam walked over to Arthur, grinning. "Well my, my. Arthur Pendragon." Her grin slightly grew into somewhat of a smirk for a moment. "It has been far too long."

His smile grew as she began to respond to her greeting. Time to get his charm on! He took her hand in his for a moment, lowering himself slightly as he brought the back of her hand to his lips, kissing it. Another sign of respect, one reserved for men to women of course. Once he had completely the action he released her hand, letting it fall back to her side. "It has indeed My Lady," he said in full agreement when she spoke of how long it had been. "You honor me with your company now," he told her politely and rather honestly. She was gorgeous! He did not remember he being this beautiful, but that was probably because the last they saw each other was when they were children and now it seemed she had matured into a beautiful young woman. Oh yes. Arthur would most definitely be spending as much time as he could with her.
"And might I say, how exquisitely beautiful you are," he told her, hoping to flatter her with the obvious as he vocalized his thoughts. Yeah really, way to slip that one in there. But it was true! He could not just let that thought go when he was going to be escorting her to her chambers. Besides, what woman did not enjoy compliments and such flattery. He began to walk, assuming she would walk alongside him, but of course, would still wait for her to do as he did not wish her to fall behind him. "How was your journey to the city?" He asked, finding it easy enough to make conversation with her and hoping this would start one. They did after all, have years to update each other on.
[[ Ahhh! SO Sorry this is short! Let me know if its at all difficult to reply to! ]]

"It has indeed My Lady." That sentence on it's own was so formal it Camila almost want to giggle. It was odd to think that this was the tiny little boy from her childhood. And he was just a fee days from becoming the proud prince of Camelot. Arthur took her hand, her other hand went to her chest in a flattered gesture, and he bent over to kiss it before letting it go and resuming his former stance. Cam was smiling. She could act all she wanted but certain things in life would just fall into place without the extra effort. Arthur was such a gentleman and exceptionally good looking, it made it hard for her not to react to him.
"Oh no, the honor is all my own. The future prince of Camelot, escorting me." As she had started her reply to his comment she did a little curtsie, lightly as a joke, but seemingly entirely honest to anyone else. Camila smiled widely at his next remark, playing a little modesty into it cause she already knew how gorgeous she was but couldn't let that attitude show. "Thank you. But may I permit myself to say that you are even more dashing than I remember?" Butter him up a little. But she ment it... He was pretty damn gorgeous.
Arthur started to walk into the corridor and Camila quickly followed by his side. "Quite exhusting, as a matter of fact. But luckly the Estate isn't too far from Camelot."

"Oh no, the honor is all my own. The future prince of Camelot, escorting me." Arthur smiled at this. While he was proud about a lot of things, being crown prince was something he was particularly proud of. It meant that he was doing something right; that he wasn't just a massive disappointment to his father. The king often told him when he did something wrong or disagreeable, not congratulate him or encourage him when he did something right. It was not something Arthur held remorse for, as it was the way he was raised: with strong discipline and high expectations. Becoming prince showed that he was one step close to being the man that was ready to rule a kingdom. He knew he had a long ways to go, but at least he was getting there . . . not in any sort of rush to lead Camelot when he was not ready, and obviously not wanting to experience the loss of a father any time in the near future.
"I am all too glad that you were able to come for the ceremony. It means a great deal to me." While nobles were somewhat obligated to come, it still showed their support which Arthur greatly valued. He did not want to start his reign as king with no one in the court being in favor of his position. While he was not so insecure to vocalize these thoughts, that did not mean they weren't deeply embedded in his mind. "Thank you. But may I permit myself to say that you are even more dashing than I remember?" Dashing! He could go with dashing! He rather enjoyed such compliments from such gorgeous women. What insane man wouldn't? His smile widened a bit as it went from one of pride to one of . . . well, more pride. "You may permit yourself to compliment me in any way you wish. You never need seek permission for this," he said with a bit of a smirk, obviously trying to be all suave and a bit jokingly arrogant.
Arthur then listened to her answer to his question regarding her journey. "That is indeed a benefit. You will hopefully be comfortable in our guest chambers, and tonight I believe my father is preparing a feast for the noble families visiting us now. We hope you will join us for it." Of course if she was too tired it would be understandable. Arthur was not sure how much time they could spend talking at the fest together, since it was just dinner and then the men would go and speak of politics. It could be so horrendously boring, but . . . he didn't have a choice. Of course, he still was planning to find other ways to spend time with her, which he would eventually go in to. But one conversation topic at a time. [[ HAHA Poor guy! That's what he's there for though! ]]

She could see that flattery with the Prince could get her everywhere, that she liked. Arthur, much like Camila herself, had an ego. However Arthur's was much larger and more pronounced than the lovely Lady's. Stroking it was probably his favorite pastime. He hadn't changed too much, even little Arthur Pendragon, at the age of no more that five, was a little cocky.
"The please is all mine, and my family's, my dear old friend. This is the event of the century. And a very important day for you. I would have been insulted had you not invited us!" Please. Camila would have found out about the ceremony somehow and would have made her way to Camelot without anybody's knowledge. Then she would have casually made it in and say she wanted to surprise her old friend. No. Camila wanted the bragging rights. To be able to say that she was a very special guest at the ceremony. Stroke her ego.
Camila giggled lightly at his comment. It was cute, but it was also just because her mind was always in such filthy gutters sometimes. She looked up at the king to be, her eyes just smoldering. "The same applies to you, Arthur. Anytime, anyway. Because flattery will sometimes get you everywhere." She smirked before looking forward again. Oh this was fun! Cam didn't actually intend to seduce Arthur into bed. NO! Camila never went that far with her fun. She didn't even let any of the men she teased touch more than her hand nor kiss anything but the back of it. She was a good girl that way. One that way.
"That is indeed a benefit. You will hopefully be comfortable in our guest chambers, and tonight I believe my father is preparing a feast for the noble families visiting us now. We hope you will join us for it." Lady Camila smiled and looked at Arthur. "Is it really 'we' or is it more 'you hope'? Because I don't want to be having dinner with 'we'." Might as well try to keep him all for herself while should could and rub it in peoe's faces.

Arthur almost chuckled when she said that she would have been insulted had he not invited her. It was only slightly amusing for he would not have wanted her absent from such an occasion. There were many, many noble families -- and noblewomen at that -- throughout Camelot, but he had developed strong friendships -- sometimes more -- with only a fraction of them. She was among them and he much preferred to be looking at the crowd during his coronation to prince with familiar faces that showed their support. Plus, when did he ever pass an opportunity to engage in flirtations with such a beautiful. "I would not have dared to insult you, or even thought for an instant to stricken your name from the list of invitations." Camila was always such great company, for so many reasons. "Besides, the grand hall would have darkened without your radiance and beauty. I of course, could not have it so." More flattery; more compliments . . . oh this was too much fun.
"The same applies to you, Arthur. Anytime, anyway. Because flattery will sometimes get you everywhere." And with comments such as that, the fun would never cease. He continued to keep a light smirk on his face, enjoying the welcomed offer. "Well, I will have to take advantage of your offer during the duration of your stay here," he said flirtatiously, knowing that he probably would; that the implications of his words would not be made in vain. Especially if -- as she so wonderfully put it -- 'flattery would get him everywhere'. How could he argue with a notion such as that?! It seemed each time his mind returned the flirtations and compliments, she only had more to provide. There truly never was a dull moment in their interactions. "Unfortunately, tonight entails a group dynamic."
He said the words with a practically exaggerated disappointment, but soon lifted the conversation to better heights when he finally decided to speak aloud the invitation that had been in his mind since she arrived at the city. "But what kind of host would I be if I were to disappoint such an exquisite Lady?" He asked rhetorically before continuing on. "If you allow me to make it up to you, then I would ask you to join me for a picnic in the woods tomorrow." Picnics never failed! Women loved picnics. They loved the privacy, and intimate setting, near the flowers and in the fresh air. Hopefully, Camila would be no exception. While he was not nervous for her response, he waited anxiously to hear what she would say to it. It would not be hard to sneak out of the castle for a few hours. He could just use the excuse that he was . . . entertaining the guests.
[[ JALICE!!! Omg, I miss them too!!! Camila and Arthur seem less . . . innocent than Jalice! Though I wonder if I can even call them innocent after some of our thread titles ]]
