Lucan was most likely just as tired as Cam was. It had been a long trip for him and a long time of short lived nights of tossing and turning for her. Camila almost wished that they would just crawl into bed right now, and fall asleep. She longed to fall asleep with his arms around her. Just even knowing that he was sleeping next to hear would be enough reassurance for her and her mind could finally feel at ease. But Luc insisted on staying awake to spend time with her, which wasn't a bad thing, but they both obviously needed to sleep. Cam smiled a little at his words, the expression hardly making any sense to the situation, really. "You better." She said with a smirk on her face with a sudden change of mood - she didn't really think it was a mood swing, though. Camila reached up and kissed him to let him know she was only joking. She didn't need him to think that she was being serious. Yes it had been a disappointment to see him leave the day after her birthdaym but he had nothing to do with that, and even Arthur had told Cam that it hadn't been the plan for him to be gone so long or even much at all.
"Yes, it's safe. Caitrin has been making them for me and I trust her." Camila explained. "She took them herself when she was pregnant." And look how the twins turned out! They were amazing. Cam loved them to pieces and she loved seeing the look on Lucan's face when he got to play with them.
There was a slight tap on the door and Cam gave Luc a small look before walking over to the door. Behind it, a servant stood with a letter for her. She took it, thanking him as she turned back to her husband and closing the door. A thought lingered in the back of her mind. Thomas didn't really come to give them news or announcements when they were alone much anymore, probably still embarrassed about walking in on them all those months ago. The thought made her laugh on the inside as she opened the letter.
(bad! horrible! sorry!)

There was nothing more amazing than holding a child, your own child, in your arms. Cam still could not believe that the little bundle in her arms was her own. Heidi Aubert was her parents' pride and joy. She wasn't very fussy, in fact, she was very quiet, always gurgling and smiling. But there were still some sleepless nights when she would cry for her parents' arms. Camila ran a hand over her daughter's head, little wisps of blond hair had already started to grow. She was overjoyed and Lucan was over the moon. He was such a terrific father, and husband. He never wanted to leave either of their sides. Of course, he eventually had to but not for long if he could help it.
Walking around the parlor, Camila rocked her little girl to sleep after her feeding. Cam had gone the non-traditional way of doing things, and had not used a wet nurse, like her sister-in-law had. It was out of the norm, but Cam found she liked the bonding. As she hum a lullaby to her little girl, Thomas entered. "My Lady, the Queen is here to see you." Camila paused for a moment before giving him a grin. "Thank you Thomas, can you show her in, please?" He nodded and left the room. Within a minute, Guinevère walked in and Cam considered giving a bow but decided against it. Arthur was one of her oldest and dearest friends, Gwen was his wife, surely she could consider her a friend as well. Gwen had come to her wedding with Arthur and Cam had attended theirs as well...
"Guinevère, no, you're not interrupting. Please come in, come in." Cam waved her in. "to what do I owe the pleasure?"

Cam's cheeks burned up a little when Lucan asked her if she was alright. Of course she was, but she couldn't let him know what she was just thinking and what was making her react like she did. How could she answer him in a wait that would not make him worry about her. He always worried too much. "I'm fine, love. Just... since I'm pregnant... my body has odd reactions from time to time. It's alright." She shook her head lightly. She hadn't lied to her husband, because her body would and was acting differently than it usually did. It was a good thing that she told him now because there would be tough days for him, as Caitrin explained to her one day. She mind get sick now and then, especially in the morning, she might have odd mood changes, as well as many other things. It all seemed worth it when she thought about their child.
Camila nodded. Somehow it had slipped her mind that Lucan and his father weren't on the best of terms and that his father was also ill. "Alright." She said simply, turning the bottle in her hands still. "We can go see my parents later on this week. You need to rest. A month and a half is a long time to be gone on a mission." And the time that he would take to rest, so would she since she finally could, now. She was already feeling all her sleepless nights slowly creeping up on her but she wouldn't let that show. Lucan didn't need to be concerned, she could handle herself.
She looked down at her hands with him and back up again at him as he took the bottle from her. Her cheeks burned a little again. "Oh. Like I had mentioned earlier, I've been taking sleeping draughts to get any sleep at all." Camila explained, tilting her head to the side a bit. "I think I can stop taking them now." She finished, a small grin drawing itself on her face.

Camila did not know of Caitrin had any sisters of her own but she sensed that it wasn't the right thing to ask if they had not been mentioned previously. It wouldn't change much in her life. She would just have a but more knowledge on her sister-in-law's life but it didn't really seem very important at the time. Camila would consider herself as the twins' favorite aunt either way and that was that. She had no doubt that Lucan would become their favorite uncle. He was a big kid at heart, just like his brother, Griff, although he was a bit more serious at times. Oh how she missed seeing him, his face, his adorable smile... Why was this quest so long? They usually didn't take so much time... Cam was going to have to have a talk with a certain Arthur Pendragon when Lucan did finally return from whatever quest he was on.
Cam grinned down at the little bundle in her arms. It was hard to imagine that he would some day grow up to be big and strong, maybe even taller than her. He might become a knight, like Lucan, or... whatever Griff did. Cam still wasn't too sure what that was, to be completely honest. But it was so hard to think that Arthur, and Esmae, would some day grow up.
"If you're sure." Cam finally gave up on trying to be courteous. "It would probably help a lot." it would help a lot. Who was she kidding. She desperately needed the stuff. "To be quite honest, Cait, I've hardly slept more than a few minutes a night after the second week." Second week of the, so far, month-long mission Lucan was on. Cam admitted this with remorse, hating to be seen as weak or vulnerable. "I fear too much for him. And for so many other things..." She went off sadly before trying to distract herself with her nephew's orange hair. She knew Luc would be fine and that he was an excellent knight but she couldn't help but worry.
Finally, food arrived and Camila realized how famished she truly was. Without really wanting to, she place Arthur back into his bed of blankets and helped herself to some of the food. "I would love a walk right now, actually." She mused, trying to be more positive, yet failing a little. But she wasn't lying. Cam was tired of being indoors and cooped up. That's why she would spend her time in the garden back at home or any where else around their home. Admiring nature, gathering flowers or practicing her archery. It was nice to be outside and she hadn't really enjoyed the outdoors in a long time. Besides, she figured that if she was going to tell Caitrin her secret, doing it outdoors with the least amount of ears around them would be better than in an estate full of servants. "Of course! I wouldn't dream of leaving them behind."
(bad and sorry it took an eternity and a half)

"No, I did. Like I said, I've only been back at the Estate for a few days, now." Cam reminded him. "Caitrin started getting worried about me after about three weeks. I had visited her during that time but after that time, she and Griff invited me to stay with them." She had felt so out of place, staying with Griff and Caitrin, especially with the twins. They were a handful on their own. "It helped Caitrin to have me around for the twins but I couldn't stay much longer." Caitrin had to keep making her sleeping remedies which took too much of her energy, Cam thought. She was already up all night with the kids. Helping Cait out wasn't all that bad, though. They bonded a lot and Cam learned important things about raising children.
They made their way upstairs together and reached their room. For the past several weeks, the space had been an unpleasant place for Camila without Lucan. She hardly got any real shut eye without him sleeping next to her, resorting to sleeping draughts to get any rest at all for the baby's sake, and her own. But now with Lucan back, the room was more welcoming to her and was far more comfortable. As they walked in, Camila instantly noticed that the servants had set out another vial of medicine for her on the dresser, as they had been for while now. She grinned to herself, thinking about how she wouldn't be needing it tonight. She could finally rest properly and naturally again.
Camila picked up the small bottle and turned it delicately over in her hand. The sound of moving chainmail was followed by her husband's voice, bringing her back from the little reverie she was having over the bottle. "Not in a few days. They were rather worried about me as well... Lord know how far more worried they would be, had I told them aboutmy being pregnant."
[/b] She confessed. It wasn't like she had not wanted to tell her parents, she really could not wait, but she just could not find the energy to make the trip over to Faintree and share in their excitement fully. Of course, she would not worry Luc with those details, though. "I was hoping that we could both go charge the news with them." Cam went on as she looked over at her husband and finding him shirtless as he washed up. Obviously, she has seen far more of Lucan than that since their wedding. However, it had been over a month since she had seen him at all and her body knew it, too. Her stomach was tight, her heart was beating a little faster and she felt a little warm as she watched him. Perhaps it was her hormones; Caitrin had mentioned something about them being a little out of control. But perhaps it was just the long period of time they had spent apart (which was what Cam figured) that made her body react in such a way. Cam paused for a moment, finding herself unable and unwilling to do anything but stare at Luc. "I had thought..." She started slowly as he pulled on a new shirt. "That we could visit your father, if you'd like? Maybe you could see your brother, as well? I have only told Caitrin, so far." She finished. Cam found herself disappointed now that Lucan had dawned another tunic, and also slightly embarrassed by how she had reacted. Only slightly. She knew she had every right to feel the way she did but because she hasn't felt like that in so long, she felt a little embarrassed. Cam found herself wanting to take the darn shirt right off, or wanting to tell Lucan to do so. However, without his bulky armour, she did get to see his shape again, under his tunic. It at least made him look like himself, but Camila still held her opinion on his shirt needing to be removed. She played with the vial, still, mindlessly as she went over these thoughts in her head. [/color][/blockquote][/blockquote] (Cam's wants it bad, I guess. But can you blame her? Haha)

True. Cam was a fighter, she knew it too. But that didn't do much to comfort her. When she looked back to the hardships she had been through over the past years, mainly when she had been taken by Morgana's men. She had been locked away in a lonely cell for Lord knows how long, only to be kept as a weapon to be used against Lucan, should he be too difficult. Yes, Camila had been a true fighter, not a brave one — she yelled until her throat burned and cried at least once a day for good amount of time — but she had fought and made it out with much of her old self intact for her then to become fiancé. Lucan called that a fighter, but she called it nearly making it out alive, with her sanity. Cam couldn't do much else besides give Lucan a sad grin and look down.
Camila gave a genuine smile as Luc gave his thoughts on the names. "Oh, I rather like that name. Samuel." It was a lovely name. Rolled off the tongue pleasantly. "Heidi or Samuel it is then." Cam got a littler more excited know that they had named their unborn child.
Cam let herself be led back to the Estate as they talked. "Nothing, really." She confessed, intertwining her fingers with his. "Things have been rather boring and lonesome without you, to tell the truth."

Camila looked down at their hands on her stomach again. She already had so much love for her unborn child that it hurt her to think that there was a chance that she might never get to raise him or her. But she would rather give her own life for her child in a heartbeat. Cam raised her face to let her husband wipe away her tears. His comment about this being the scariest thing he had ever encountered only slightly reassured her because it was a very frightening thing all the same. "If it was a fight or a war, I would at least know how to defend myself. But this... I don't know how..." It was so confusing. "My mother barely made it after she gave birth to me, Lucan." She reminded him sadly. "I want to be here for our child." All she knew was that if anything were to go wrong, she wanted Caitrin to help Lucan, she was perhaps the only person she trusted to, besides her own mother, but she was get old and she didn't need the burden.
Cam laughed at his reaction. Of course she was only teasing him. "I was thinking more along the lines of Camila the second?" She teased. "Well, yes, i have. But I want your opinions too." Camila added, resting her head on his armored shoulder. "If it's a boy, I was thinking maybe Benjamin or Lucas... And if it's a girl, maybe Nadia or Heidi... What do you think?" She asked, turning her head to look up at him. She really wanted to his opinion on the names she wanted and she wanted to hear his suggestions as well.
"We should really get you out of this armour, you know? It can't be all that comfortable." Camila added. It really looked heavy too and now that he was home, he didn't need it.
(blah and bad, sorry it took forever) (obviously, luc could suggest sam for a boy too XD )

Cam didn't feel so happy anymore as she looked into her husband's eyes as he spoke. He was really worried and she didn't blame him, but she would be serious when she had told him that she would take things easy until their child arrived. There was a chance that she could lose the baby before or during the birthing. Camila was already so in love with the unborn child within her that the thought of losing it hurt already. It was a part of her now. He or she was a product of how much she and Lucan loved each other. However, there was also a chance of other complications. Eloise, Camila's mother, had suffered some when she gave birth to her daughter. She had barely made it through the whole process herself. Eloise managed to pull through in the end but would never be able to have children again.
Cam wanted many children, knowing how long time could be when one was an only child and she loved children. But she also needed to survive the pregnancies to raise her children. "I know, I will." She nodded, looking down at their hands on her stomach, feeling tears roll down her face again. But these weren't the happy tears from earlier, these were sad. Cam didn't want to lose her child and she didn't want to die trying to bring her child into the world.
She laughed, she had married they perfect man for her, that was for sure. He knew just how to make things right. "You can't be serious? I wanted to name him or her after me." She joked.

Camila was excited to have a child of her own. She had loved taking care of Arthur and Esmae during her stay with Caitrin and Griff so much. She had taken to the children and they, her. Cam also knew how important it was for Lucan and her to have a child, especially a boy. Girls weren't heirs. And seeing as Lucan would become the Duke of Glouchedon when his father past, there was pressure for Lucan to raise his own heir. Cam didn't care if it was a boy or a girl, she just wanted a child to love and to hold. She knew that Luc would feel the same.
Lucan kept stuttering in disbelief and Cam couldn't help but laugh a little. "It's rather exciting, isn't it?" Cam was almost bouncing with excitement. She took one of her hands off of Lucan's and stroked his cheek again. "You shouldn't worry so much, love." She said, giving him a smile before she gave him a gentle kiss. "We," She started, holding his hand against her stomach with both her hands again, a little tighter. "Are going to be fine."

Camila gave him a caring look. "You don't have to worry about me, I'm done worrying. You're here and there's nothing for me to worry about now." She tried to ease his worries. Lucan was always over worrying about her when there was no reason for him to be worrying, especially now. There was really nothing for him to be worried about. She was fine, he was fine. It's all that mattered right now.
Cam sat there watching him. She wanted to be patient but there was something in her that was just dying for his reaction and he was taking a long time to process the news. But then he started to speak. Well, started to stutter and blurt out half-thoughts. You could say that he was speechless. Cam smiled a little more watching his reaction and couldn't help but laugh a little. "Our little boy or girl." She nodded. Luc placed his hand on her stomach and kissed her. Cam smiled into the kiss, having missed the feeling and too glad at how happy he was, and she placed her hands on the one on her stomach. "I'm very sure. I've seen the physician already a few times." Besides, she had been getting sick from time to time because of her pregnancy, she had no other explanation for why she would be. That and many other signs.

Camila smiled, glad that he wasn't hurt, and that he was still himself. "Good." As long as he was back in one piece, it was all she could ask for. Cam knew that the quest was some of a secret and she respected that. She also didn't say a word when he replied to her courtly. She ask about it seeing as it obviously seemed to be a subject that Lucan didn't want to talk about. At least not right now. She would leave it alone until he wanted to talk about it. Cam just nodded.
She grinned when he offered her his arm and took it happily and let him lead her back into the garden. So he'd noticed. "I've been worried, I really can help but worry." She admitted. "I've been taking sleeping draughts to get any rest, but I guess I don't have to anymore." She added with a small grin at the thought. Cam pulled Lucan over to the bench she had been sitting on a moment ago and sat down, inviting him to sit with her. "But despite everything, I've got some terrific news." She beamed, taking his hand in hers. She felt a jolt of excitement rush through her. "Luc, I'm pregnant." She finally said, just waiting for his reaction.

Of course he would be his typical self no matter how worn out he should be and probably was. Cam gave a small laugh as she shook her head, probably crying even more. "Never. I'm just so happy you're back." She could never let herself think that he wouldn't come back to her alive, she knew he would, he always did. God forbid, the day came when only his body returned, Cam might just kill him even if he was already dead. But there was just something about Lucan, he always got out of trouble. She felt at home now, with his arms around her and his lips against her forehead. Things were right again.
She had missed him so much, even missed how he pushed aside that one annoying strand of hair of hers aside. "I've missed you too." She had missed him far too much. "They're fine, they were just worried about me being alone for too long." She explained. "I'm fine, I'm great, I'm... just so glad you're back!" She stroked his cheek with her thumb unable to keep herself from beaming. There was so much she still had to tell him but she wanted to know if he was alright first. "How are you? Nothing broken? How was the quest?" Camila asked, looking him over quickly. She was sure that he wasn't hurt, or not much if he was as all.

Camila had had enough of staying with Griff and Caitrin after some time. They had been terrific hosts but Cam felt like she had been too much of a bother to them even if she had been helping Caitrin out with the twins a lot. Her in-laws seemed so happy that she felt as if she were just spoiling their mood with her constant worry about Lucan. Of course, they were strongly against her returning to Allard's Estate and staying there alone. Cam couldn't blame them; she was in a rough state when she was alone. So she promised she still go and visit during the day, mainly to please them but also to get herself out of the Estate at least once. There was nothing else she really felt like doing anymore. She didn't read anymore, or practice her archery, she hardly socialized besides Griff, Caitrin and the servants. She just wanted to fall asleep until her husband returned to save herself the trouble. Unfortunately, she couldn't. She could hardly sleep at all. She had been taking sleeping draughts to at least get some rest, she had to for the sake of her unborn child.
Cam sat in the garden all morning; it was her favorite place to be. She didn't do much, she just sat on a bench next to the small pond they had back there. She needed the fresh air, otherwise being cooped up inside. The gentle birdsongs were the only happy thing around her right now. It took her a moment to realize that the chirping wasn't the only sound in the air anymore. Someone was calling her, and she knew it was Lucan. Excitement ran through her and she stood in a sudden jolt. Her heart raced in her chest but she didn't turn around to look for him just yet. What if she was imagining it? It had happened once before. She would be crushed... but she could not not look.
Cam turned around and walked out onto the small path that led to the house. Her heart almost leap out of her chest when she saw him, still in his armour and calling out for her. "Lucan!" She called back at him before picking up her dress and running to him. She threw her arms around his neck and held onto him tightly, not even noticing that her cheeks were moist with tears now. She pulled away enough to face him and started to fix him up a little, frantically; she swept aside his hair a few times and touched any and every part of his face, making sure that he was really there with her and wiping away any dirt at the same time. She couldn't believe that she was really there.
(a little meh, lots of cam muse today, but this post felt a little off)

Camila gave her sister-in-law a genuine smile. "He does seem to have grown on me quite a bit. Esmae, too." Both children were absolute angels and Cam had grown very fond of them. She had never really been around infants before but she found that she loved it. There was something about how delicate they were and how precious everything seemed to be when you were holding one of the two. "I think they've already decided that I'm their favorite aunt." She laughed lightly. It was nice to feel so happy for a change.
Cam laughed when Caitrin spoke next. "Oh no!" She looked down that the tiny infant in her arms. "Lord knows he would say that. I'm sure that he would make a terrific knight, if it were to be what he chooses." He was an Aubert, after all, and Aubert men were strong. Yes, she meant Griff too, although she was certain she could win against him in combat. But that was just a little bit of their rivalry that still stayed with her.
"That's very kind of you, Caitrin. But, you don't have to bother yourself over me." Camila replied kindly, although a sleeping drought might do her some good seeing as she barely slept at all. "I walk sounds lovely. I think you're right. Fresh air and clear thoughts."
(blah!!!!!!!! and Griff can jump in whenever he wants)

Camila nodded although she did not agree. She had every reason to apologize, she was being so depressive that she surely couldn't be making anyone's day any brighter or better. "Thank you." She could never say that enough. Arthur gave a small yawn again in her arms and curled into her gently. Cam loved children and loved the twins. She saw a lot of their parents in them. Already Esmae was looking like she would be the little rebel or a bit of a troublemaker like her father and it made Cam smile to think of what they would be like when they grew up. They would be lovely children, there was no doubt about that, they had terrific parents, a lovely home and a caring family. Camila could remember the look on Lucan's face when he would look at his neice, he just adored her, not that he didn't like Arthur. There was a different admiration with him. Cam couldn't wait to be a mother, but her turn would be coming soon.
Cam wouldn't let herself think that Luc might not return. It wasn't an option. He simply had to return to her. And better it be broken than not at all although she wanted him to be well. Lucan had been trough many a great peril. Their love had only been strengthened through many tests and this one would only make it greater.
Cam held her nephew's little hand and he would wrap his fingers around hers as he slept. It made her smile. "Arthur's already beginning to be so strong... A true little Aubert, this one." She mused as Cairtin sat down. Cam looked up at her, the smile the child caused still on her face. "No, I'll be fine, thanks. He said he'd return next week to check up on my condition." Cam hadn't told Caitrin why she had been getting sick, nor had she told Griff quite yet. It was a news that she had hoped to share with her husband first but perhaps she would have to tell her in-laws first. Cam decided she would at least wait for Griff to return before telling Caitrin. The news was wonderful but it would be bitter-sweet without Lucan.

Camila regarded her visitor with a light smirk upon her lips before she sipped her drink once more and put down the cup. Griff was at a loss for words and was struggling to find a reply. She was rather impressed with herself. "I didn't ask if you and your father enjoyed morning tea together, did I?" She raised and eyebrow. "You still owe me an answer, brother." She emphasized her last word to hopefully get a good reaction out of him but she would call him this in the future for sure. Why not start now?
"A woman of my 'stature'? Do tell me what exactly you are referring to." Camila was seeing unbelievably fast that her to-be brother-in-law would be trouble, a thorn in her side, forever. The corner of Camila's mouth twitched upwards. "As a noblewoman, I cannot work to provide for myself. However, if things were reversed, I'm sure I could easily take over your brother's job."
((now this is terrible. And super late))

Camila sighed. "Griff and yourself have been very kind for inviting me over. You two have been more than kind and very accommodating. Thank you. I'm very sorry that I haven't been the best guest." Cam said, looking at the child in her arms and could help but smile as she watched him yawn. She really couldn't be sad when she looked at her niece and nephew. "But I really just need my husband to come back." Camila sighed as she looked up to her sister-in-law with an apologetic look. "You know, it's been over a month, now?" Cam didn't mean to be such a downer but she missed him. And he had left the day after her birthday. She was finally twenty now. ((or twenty-one? Dunno))
Camila gave Caitrin a grin, glad to hear that she had managed to get a full night's sleep for once. Poor thing. The twins were a handful, especially with Griff gone most of the day. Not that the servants weren't helping her, but Cait was very hands-on about her children, something Cam admired. Caitrin's story about how Griff took care of their daughter in the morning made Cam's heart swell. She could only imagine Lucan doing the same when they had children of their own. That, and the fact that Cam was only getting to see the softer side of Griff during her stay was heartwarming; he really seemed to like being a father. Cam hadn't really been Griff's biggest far in the past.
Camila shifted Arthur in her arms. "Hm. I suppose I should eat." They had a healer come to see her a few days before. She hadn't been able to sleep, she had been getting sick and she found any food unappetizing. Cam knew why now and she forced herself to eat.
