So here he was. Camelot. In ruins, at least in the sense of a horrible analogy. Magic wasn't allowed to be used here, the consequence being death. Lucky for him no one seemed to be familiar with Aerulis, his birth Kingdom. The place he was, right now, entitled to become King. But those days were over, and he was a traveler. Despite his hate for the royal family of Camelot, he still had his seal of Royalty with him and was visiting the court. He had a bad feeling about it, hanging nearby his enemies. . . but as long as they didn't see him as a threat, he would be perfectly fine.
There was a feast that night, supposedly to welcome him to Camelot. . . or something of the like. The things that would happen when one was of royalty. He noted that the King, Uther Pendragon, was present at the feast. What else to expect? He was the King. A man he hated with a burning passion. Prince Avyrus knew he had a son, somewhere. Where was he? His blue eyes searched the hall almost impatiently. It would be best to start a conversation with someone, to give himself a normal first impression on everyone. . . and what better than Prince to Prince?

Yes. There was a feast tonight, and Arthur was not sure how he felt abut that. On the one hand, it was to honor a new guest who had rather good timing for coming with Camelot was preparing for a five day festival to commemorate the peace treaties that the five kingdoms have signed. But that was not what was making the prince feel so uncomfortable: it was the fact that he was still embarrassed over what had happened with Lady Vivian. No one except Arthur, Guinevère, Merlin . . . and whoever else was involved in the evil plot against them, knew that it was an enchantment. Which meant, everyone could still believe he was madly in love with Vivian to the point of engaging in a fight with her father to the death. So yes. Arthur was in extreme discomfort right now even if he remained totally composed on the surface.
Thankfully, tonight would give him something else to focus on and that is the mysterious prince that had made his presence known, showing his seal of royalty. Had Godfrey not somewhat investigated it, they would not have been so welcoming to him, for it was apparently not TOO difficult to forge such a thing -- as Lancelot had done in the past. But no. He was indeed of royal blood and tonight, he was among their many guests. Perhaps it would be good for the young prince to be in the company of someone who's thoughts were not recalling recent events with Vivian and Olaf. Yes! That would be very refreshing indeed. Plus, Arthur wished to play the role of a gracious host which entailed getting to know their guests, and he was no exception to this.
Arthur excused himself from another noble he had been conversing with, and he made his way over to their latest visitor. Seeing he was alone was a good sign as well; it would make it easier for them to talk in comfort without . . . well, without Arthur wondering if someone else was thinking about how foolishly 'in love' he had been a matter of days ago, and how he had conveniently quickly recovered from it. "Sir Avyrus," Arthur greeted, lowering his head in a bit of a bow. As he was royalty, he required the respect that his status granted him with and well, Arthur was not about to be rude to him of course. "How are you finding Camelot thus far?" He asked him, starting up a conversation to help him feel at more ease among a room filled with strangers to him.

Well, it seemed he did not have to find the Prince. For before he knew it, Avyrus was being greeted by him. He made no vocal acknowledgment of the Prince of Camelot, but he did dip his head. It was hard to notice, but it was there. "Yes, I am enjoying Camelot thus far," he looked calmly off to the side and then back to the Prince again. Well, there was nothing to talk about really, and Avy didn't enjoy vocalizing with others that greatly anyway. He'd let Arthur 'talk the night away' in this conversation. Though Avyrus couldn't decide anything yet, whether the Prince of Camelot was just going to unintentionally annoy him or prove to be a calm noble man. He couldn't exactly tell at this point.
[ Sorry about the shortness of this post =( But do you mind if I make this the length of my posts from now on? Or just generally? It would make me more active ]

If Arthur was going to be the one who had to make conversation . . . they were going to have a problem. While Arthur could easily enough engage in a conversation, he did not talk excessively. He was more a man of action than words, though he did try to keep good relations with others by conversing with them. And yet, it seemed almost as if this man did not want to talk with the laconic way he answered his question, seeming a bit disinterested. Perhaps it was too early to judge though. He was after all -- as Arthur previously acknowledged -- in a room full of strangers, so it made sense that he could feel a bit uncomfortable. Arthur would attempt it a couple more times and if it seemed that he was only being a nuisance to their visiting guest, then it would probably be best he leave his company, not wanting to agitate him.
"I must admit, I am unfamiliar with your kingdom so would be interested in hearing more about it." There. Most royals held a great deal of pride in their kingdom, Arthur was no exception to this. He loved Camelot. He loved the people within it. It was his greatest source of pride and passed no opportunity to boast on how beautiful the kingdom was, how great the army was . . . just everything about it. But now, he would give Avyrus an opportunity to talk of his kingdom, for it would hopefully spark more of a conversation and well, Arthur was genuinely curious about it.

It wasn't really that he was disinterested, but more so. . . anxious. After all, most of these people were his enemies. Who wouldn't be anxious? He couldn't say he had started to regret coming here though. "Aerulis?" He asked. It was true, Avyrus did take pride in his Kingdom. But he had forgotten just how much. So it was hard to explain it without it being brief. "I take great pride in it. We're one of the strongest in our area." He would explain that, but leave out the fact that the whole point of Aerulis was to welcome magic.
"My father and mother, King Aeolus and Queen Keeva," he added with a proud smirk. "They founded Aerulis." Still, a lot of major details were being left out.

Arthur was glad that his incentive for asking the question seemed to be working. Avyrus appeared to show more interest in talking about the kingdom he came from, rather than useless small talk, which quite frankly, was entirely understandable. It was easier to build up the conversation, and lead it to a point where both could be at ease and no longer call each other strangers, when the first subject was that of great interest to both parties. It was intriguing to hear of how Aerulis was one of the strongest kingdoms in the area. It was just like Camelot in that sense -- though obviously Arthur did not know just how contradicting this statement could be had he known the welcome usage of magic.
"Sounds like a fine kingdom," Arthur said with clear admiration. After all, what ruler did not want to hear their own kingdom being compliment? It was their source of pride and joy. "So are the customs in Aerulis very different from those you have seen here in Camelot?" It was always fascinating to find out how customs, traditions and the overall culture differed from one kingdom to the next. While there were some things that were always the same, there was also extreme differences . . . especially when the kingdoms were so far apart from one another, practically in a different realm.

It was clear that Avyrus was taking pride in the compliment that the Prince of Camelot offered his Kingdom. It had certainly been a while since he'd heard those words. . . the last time he had had been when he was 14. It made him want to regain Aerulis from the raiders. It appeared that Arthur did not know that his Kingdom basically didn't exist anymore, and he wanted to keep it that way. It would amke him, his family, and his knights look weaker than they already were.
"Not too different," he began. Lies. Lies. Lies. It was far more different than Camelot was, mostly concerning the topic of magic. "We are peaceful, strong, and more importantly we make wise decisions concerning the kingdom."

Arthur nodded along when Avryus vaguely compared kingdoms. He really was one of those . . . strong, silent types. Was he hiding something? Surely not. He wasn't exactly inconspicuous in his arrival here. He must just be the quiet type. Ah well. Arthur would try to get him to open up a bit . . . only to show the welcoming nature that Camelot offered. He smiled when Avryus spoke of making wise decisions concerning the kingdom. "Well that certainly explains its success," he said. It was one of the many elements that made a kingdom successful. Wisdom. It was a very important aspect of being king; one that many teased Arthur that he lacked. Of course he knew that when he reached that inevitable position he would have to show he had some wisdom at least . . . for it would be reflected in his decisions.
"So, tell me more of it. The lands, the laws, the people." And so on. Arthur had a strong fascination with the kingdom solely for the fact that he had never heard of it before. It seemed to be beyond their realm and he wished to find out as much as he could about it with its ruler here present among them. He knew it was rude to invite himself to visit, but if the invitation was extended to him, he would strongly consider taking him up on his offer . . . at some point -- since it would be a long journey.
