.:Physical Appearance:. Finlay is of average height, quite slim but muscular due to his fight training and time working on Corin’s farm. He has blue eyes and dark brown, curly hair which, being in need of a cut, is constantly getting in his eyes. Aware of his good lucks he is more than capable of manipulating several impressionable young women with a wink and smirk.

.:Personality:. Finlay is a very determined young man, having spent years trying to find Nimueh and not giving up until he eventually succeeded. He is obsessed with avenging his family, and personally blames Uther for both the death of his parents and his life after leaving Camelot.

On the surface he appears to be a cold, unemotional being who favours logic and reason, however, he is almost solely fuelled by his hatred towards Uther and Camelot, and his desire for revenge. He has a cruel sense of humour and is certainly not above torture and murder. It takes a lot to make Finlay truly angry and you will certainly be aware if you do, being a naturally violent man he becomes even more so when angered. Fiercely loyal to Nimueh, he will follow any of her commands but will not hesitate to question whether she is making the right decisions but would not act against her. Apart from his family she appears to be the only person he cares about and able to feel empathy for.

Towards Nimueh he is faithful, sincere and trustworthy however to his enemies he is callous, manipulative and malicious, going to any lengths necessary to achieve his goal. The loss of his parents and suffering as a direct result has certainly hardened him, resulting in him being quite a sadistic and cold young man. He takes pleasure in causing misery and will often go out of his way in order to bring about more suffering, especially to residents of Camelot.

.:Strengths:. Finlay is a skilled fighter, having spent his youth fending for himself or labouring on a farm and also had some training after becoming Nimueh’s blood guard. His favoured weapon is a sword, but he is also capable at hand to hand combat and can use most objects he finds as weapons. He is also an excellent pickpocket and liar, again because of his time spent scavenging in the forests outside Camelot.

.:Weaknesses:. The saying “kill now, ask questions later” certainly applies to Finlay. He is far too quick to project his anger onto others without thinking about the consequences, often resulting in having to completely rethink a plan of action to make up for his inability to control his impulses.

Although he does plan for the future and is aware of the bigger picture he gets “bored easily” and often makes rash decisions, especially when under pressure or angry. He would much rather be doing something rather than nothing.

As mentioned before, he is completely loyal to Nimueh and carries out her every instruction no matter how it could endanger himself. He swore a blood oath to serve and protect her and so would risk his own life to fulfil her orders.

.:Magic Abilities:. None himself, his parents practiced magic but died before they could teach him. He is a strong believer in the potential of magic and has aligned himself with the sorceress Nimueh.

.:History:. : Finlay was born to Duncan and Alice in Camelot when magic was still practiced legally. His parents, though not the most skilled, were amongst those who practiced. His older brother, Oliver, being ten years older than Finlay was already being taught magic by his parents.

His parents were found guilty of practicing magic during the Great Purge and killed under Uther’s command. Oliver smuggled an eight year old Finlay out of the city and into the forests where they resorted to scavenging and thieving to survive. They managed to live together in the forests for two years until Oliver went missing. Finlay hasn’t seen him since. Fortunately he was taken in by a poor farmer, Corin, who found him in the forests. When asked how he came to be living in the woods, fearing Corin would betray him to Uther, Finlay lied and said his mother died in childbirth and his father was a knight who died in battle.

During his time with Corin, still under the pretence of being the orphaned son of a knight, he began to express an interest in Camelot, Uther and in particular the Great Purge. From Corin he first learnt of Nimueh and saw her as a way to finally have revenge on Uther. He left Corin at twenty three in order to find her, having been told about a group of men, trained as warriors who swear a blood oath to protect a High Priestess.

He eventually found her, after a few years searching, and, after explaining everything that happened to him she agreed to make him her Blood Guard, training him to become a powerful warrior. Having sworn his oath he is now completely loyal to Nimueh and bent on avenging his parents.
