Things to Remember
[/li][/ul]Hello fellow members!
I'd like to start by saying how excited we are to see the high level of activity on the board. You are all doing a wonderful job of posting, and I thank each and every one of you for your enthusiasm and commitment to posting.
As the numbers increase, we are seeing a wide variety of characters, both canons and originals. Because of this, we ask people to keep in mind a few things that have been outlined in the show, or are stressed on the role play to keep everything fair for all members. Please read the following points so that you can fully understand the limitations and general acceptances. This is in no way meant to discourage anyone for posting, and while we have had no problems with any members thus far, we would just like you to keep these things in mind for the future.PLOT REMINDERS
- Merlin is potentially the most powerful sorcerer who possesses natural magic ability. There are there others who are perhaps older and therefore have more experience but Merlin still remains extremely powerful, and so we ask that while your character may be able to engage in magic and different kinds of sorcery, keep in mind the potential that Merlin carries. In addition to this, no one knows Merlin is a sorcerer, except those that he has told in the series, or those that the role player of Merlin chooses to tell people in posts.
- There are limited combatants and warriors that are seen as highly skilled, and nearly unbeatable. One such example is Arthur, as he was known throughout the land as a highly skilled warrior and one of the best. While we understand that many characters are skilled in various forms of weaponry, we ask that you keep in mind that not everyone can have exceptional skills. It is a huge rarity when someone better comes along. We are just stressing the skills these characters have, as they are emphasized in the series as being phenomenal and not every character can be equally masterful in combat.
- Not all female characters can be great combatants. We understand that some would be skilled with different weapons, such as swords, bows and arrows etc, for they have been trained and practiced a great deal. It shows some gender equality. However, this can not always be the case because at the time, not many women were able to train with weapons. It was not technically their place, which was why when a woman did happen to show that she was highly skilled in handling a sword, or a fantastic archer, it was a great surprise to all the people.
- Absolutely no god modding. This refers to playing a character other than your own. For instance, you can not make a character say or do something in your post that the role player for that character has not done in theirs. Do not control anyone's character but your own. If someone is doing this in your thread, then please notify the admin and we will handle it accordingly.
- You must post a minimum of 4 posts each week per character. For OC's, we require a minimum of 3 per character. If you are not posting as your character, and you have not contacted an admin or posted an away message, then your character may be re-opened for application. Keep in mind that this rule applies to each of your characters, so if you have two characters, you must post at least 3 times for each of them, totaling 6 posts per week.
- When you are done a thread, you must PM the admin the link. This is so that we can move it to the archive section. This way, inactive or finished threads will not accumulate and make the board look disorganized. Once you are done the thread, do not just say 'Closed' because we are not checking every single thread for activity. Send us the thread link and we will move it to the archive board.
Once again, I thank you for taking the time to read this. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact us. [/color]
Happy Posting !
