Fifteen and full of overflowing wants and desires, Prince Oliver had completely disobeyed his father, the King of Mercia, and continued to march out with some of the nobles on their hunting trip despite the old man’s prohibitions. Edmund had agreed to cover for him, and he hoped his brother had made true on his word. While Oliver was not exactly a disobedient lad, he wanted nothing but to explore the world outside the walls of the castle. He didn’t like to be cooped up all day reading books and being taught table manners and what-not, he wanted to go out there, see the real world, learn everything first hand by experiencing them. His mother had only been too supportive of his desires, part of the reason why he was so bold to disobey the king. His mother had promised to cover for him as well.
Armed with nothing but his precious bow and arrow, he followed a group of 10 men, mostly older than him as they trek into the nearby forests of Mercia. They know nothing about the king prohibiting Oliver from hunting with them, but Oliver had conveniently lied to them. Had they known Lord Bayard’s wishes, they would certainly not have let Oliver join the hunt.
Bursting with excitement, the young lad was only too eager to go. This was his first hunting trip, and he was raring to catch his first deer, and perhaps show his father what he was capable of. That way, his father wouldn’t think less of him. Sure, he had not exactly warmed up to the sword, preferring instead to learn archery. He had been practicing his shots for years now, and was starting to get very skilled at the bow and arrow for his age. He couldn’t wait to apply it to the real world.

The world was large. It was ever changing. It was always exciting. One never knew what was around the corner. It seemed even bigger to Laurelin at aged 11. For she was but a small part in the larger sense. Yet with a sense of pride that she would be but ages older, well at least in her mind. Still there was a innocence within her that was just not so easily taken. She also had a freeness that only a child could dream of. She saw life in a way so few get to. She was able to learn the world, grow a little wise, but without growing up too fast. She just lived a more simple and peaceful life. It was normal to her. Although life was anything than normal, it was always exciting. Laurelin especially as a child loved life. Enjoyed it.
As was today all a day for Laurelin to simply enjoy. There was no telling what was going to happen. Laurelin just simply let life come at her as it was meant to. It was time for a little hunting for the gypsies. It was a means for food to keep them all well fed, it also allowed for the younger gypsies to learn the ways more and more. Laurelin had been around this since she was a small child. Today with a decent length spear in her hand. She had set out into the forest with a small group of her people. As Laurelin was a bit older now she was able to hunt a little bit on her own and Laurelin always seemed to find herself wanting to do things on her own. She bore animal skin pants n top. All handmade as was most things in Laurelin's life. Set in a colour of brown. As very close in tone to her eyes. Her hair blonde and ringlets for her age. Though they were not overly tamed nor were they usually.
As Laurelin motioned within the forest came a familiar flutter of wings as Nuri landed upon Laurelin's tiny shoulder. The eagle was not much in age, still had a few baby feathers of her own. Laurelin smiled a child smile. As her hand ran over its head. Laurelin had found Nuri abandoned by its mother and helped nurse it back to better health. For the most part the bird was free, but since Laurelin found the eagle, they had a bond that only they really knew. Some had horses and Laurelin loved them and every other animal. It just well, with Nuri it was much like a companion of sorts. An understanding. Laurelin smiled then she heard a dash through the trees of a bouncing beast of sorts.
"Oh, a deer. Vayamos Nuri con rapidez"
Laurelin spoke excitedly to Nuri as she pointed in the direction. Her tongued then rolled into her more spanish tongue along with her accent. They would need to go with haste before they lost track of it. So Laurelin sprang on her feet and Nuri took flight close by. As Laurelin moved within the trees. As quick and as quietly as she could. She was using her stealth like mode. Although at age 11 how stealth could she be. Laurelin followed the crumbled marks before her that lead her in the right direction. Feeling her instincts of this becoming more and more alert and instinctive. Until finally some trees away, Laurelin stopped. She hid behind a tree. As she looked around to see the deer in a small opened plained area. Laurelin crept up to move closer and closer. Through the bushes and the shrubs. Nuri still close by in the air keeping quiet for now. As Laurelin found a nice distance. She raised her hand up as her eyes fell upon the flank of the deer as her target. Ready and prepared to shoot. As young Laurelin aimed from the shrubs of the forest with Nuri closely by her head. Her eyes focused as the deer slowly moved and Laurelin just waiting for the right time to strike.

After a half hour of walking into the thick forest, the young Oliver was as amazed to see the jungle with his own eyes for the first time. Sure he had seen much of it from the window in his room in the castle, but to be in it, to walking under the huge canopy of the trees, to touch the trunks with his own hands, to step over large overgrown roots, to duck underneath low lying branches…it felt empowering and exhilarating. The nature all around him never ceased to fascinate the young prince. The sound of the rustle of the leaves, of the birds chirping overhead, or other animal sounds around them, it all amused and amazed Oliver. From that moment, he was clearly in love with the forest, and had made a vow with himself to know more about them, live with them as he could.
Not really used to all this trekking, Oliver had to constantly lag behind the group as he tried but failed to maneuver over some huge roots sprouting above ground, over fallen tree trunks, over huge boulders, through sloping earth. He was always trailing behind, but he didn’t let that deter him. He would refuse any help that the older guys would offer, choosing to learn how to traverse the forest all by himself. He had promised not to be a burden to them, and he was staying true to that.
There was one tricky uphill trail that Oliver had trouble getting through. Not wanting the others to see him having any difficulty, he assured them that he was all right. “Don’t worry about me. Go on ahead, I’ll catch up,” he told them as he slowly made the climb. He had watched the others as they climbed the slope, and was now trying it himself. He made sure his foot was planted on a secure rock, then grabbed hold of a root jutting out ahead, and made his way up. Halfway up the slope, he didn’t know what happened, he must have stepped on the wrong stone or held onto the wrong root. The rock he was stepping on suddenly gave way, and the root he was holding onto was too weak to hold his weight. In one swift motion, Oliver found himself sliding back down the rather long slope. His tried to find something to break his fall, but only managed to grab onto weeds and scrape his knees and elbows against the hard surface. He slid fast back onto the foot of the slope and when his foot hit the ground, he lost his balance and stumbled over. The forest seemed to spin fast around him and before Oliver could regain his bearings, he had stepped onto a jutting root and was sent pummeling back first onto the forest floor, twisting his ankle in the process. A sudden surge of pain shot through his legs and Oliver couldn't help the piercing cry that issued from his lips as he lay there on the ground totally immobile and helpless.

The aim was steady and in preparation. The deer was of a decent size. It was a wandering adult. No antlers. Just a simple brown deer, that Laurelin knew was really more than simple. Simple was always just as beautiful. Though this life was all about balance. As Laurelin had made out to throw the spear just at the right moment. Came a piercing cry through the forest. Nearby. Laurelin had just thrown the spear and it jumped her hand. So the spear went flying and totally missing. Scaring the deer to flee the scene as well as some few birds. That scattered from the surrounding trees. Laurelin was taken by that as her eyes rang that direction, but her tiny mind fled to this cry. Of pain. Someone was hurt. That Laurelin knew. Her face fled of concern and she fled through the forest in the direction. Her footings quick with haste. Not focusing on the little bits of pain as this led her bare feet to hit roughly upon the ground. Everything rushed by. She fled the thoughts of whom it was. Her heart raced. oh how it raced.
It hadn't been very far as Laurelin soon fell upon the area below the slope within the land. Her eyes ran to find a young boy upon the ground who tossed and turned in pain. Her eyes ran up the slope for a second to really see just how much he had fallen. She gasped with air as he screamed again. Then soon with what was left between them motioned towards this young boy, a teenager. As Laurelin came into his presence. She hadn't a great deal of what to do, just that she knew she needed to comfort him and help him. His mind seeming elsewhere along with the pain. Laurelin ran her small hand over his forehead lightly. She tried to smile, but this was not quite a happy moment. Then slid her hand down his cheek trying to sooth him and stop from leaving this world. As her eyes ran over him, he was much a stranger to her. Who ever he was, he was deserving to be helped. She had to help him.
"Can you hear me? I'm here.... I'm here."
Laurelin rang with english in her rather spanish voice, her tone was gentle as her eyes looked upon him with trying to sooth his pains somewhat. At least ease his mind. As her voice almost whispered the last words. As her lips smiled softly. As her hand softly moved over his face. As her eyes took in his appearance for a moment. Before her smile slowly faded as she was now gaming to look at the injury she knew was there. Her eyes ran down his leg to his ankle. She could already tell there was damage, but what kind she couldn't know. Not soon did a few of the gypsies and her father came, they must have also heard his screams. Laurelin was glad they were here. For she wouldn't have felt right to leave him to go find help and even at age 11 she would like to think she could help on her own. Though she knew better that looking over at him, he needed more proper help.
Her father rushed over next to Laurelin. As he attended to the boy. Checking his vitals were in check. Then moved down to his ankle. Her father just lightly motioned it so not to cause any more pain. Laurelin watched her eyes ran over the boy's face and to her father. Trying to read into what her father was seeing. How bad was this? She could tell something about her father's eyes as he examined the boy's ankle. It couldn't be good.
"How bad is it, father?"
Laurelin asked innocently with concern as her hands continued to try and sooth the boy gently. She knew something was wrong. Her father removed his hands. His eyes ran up the poor boy and then upon Laurelin. "I'm afraid it's broken... We need to get him out of here, so he can be properly treated and can rest. It doesn't appear to be to bad, but it won't happen over night... Come we'll take him back to our base... Don't worry Laurelin, he'll be fine... Was there no one else with him?" Her father spoke and Laurelin gasped as he said it was broken. It explained the shear screams and cries. Her hands trying to sooth him some more. With her gentle touches. As her father spoke reassuring the situation and what was needing to be done. Laurelin smiled she was sure he'd be fine, but still concern as the boy was still in pain for now. Laurelin moved out of the way as father began to pick up the boy to carry him. He asked about whether the boy was alone as he stood. Laurelin simply shook her head.
"No, there was no one save him"
Her father nodded as Laurelin spoke honestly to him as she just shook her head again. Though did this mean he was alone. Laurelin looked around. It was possible he came out here alone. She didn't know who he was and nor how he lived. Laurelin rose to her own feet as she motioned to be near her father as he carried the boy. Her mind only focused upon this mystery boy. She cared for the world and she seemed to care for this boy she didn't even know his name. She felt he was like a magnet and she wished to not leave his side. As if she vowed to see him through all this and make sure he would be alright. So along with her father and a small group of the other gypsies. They motioned to leave the area and return to their base camp. Where they could best heal the boy to much better health. Though her father insisted for a gypsy to stay behind incase someone came looking for the boy. The last thing they wanted was to kidnap the boy. He had parents or someone that could be possibly looking for him. It was best to make sure and not cause anymore damage. To simply heal the boy. Laurelin stayed close by reached her small hand as she held one of the boy's fingers out of her kindness and caring for him. There was something special about him, she knew the moment she found him and there was something telling her, it had meant to be her that found him. She felt an oath to stay with him and her slight hoping he would get to stay with them. He was from another world and Laurelin wished to know him once he was able to speak more. A possible friend, perhaps. Then Laurelin is but a child, with a child mind. Seeing things that are almost made up of dreams. All the hope in the world. As her hand held his finger firmly as her eyes kept a descent amount of time upon him between watching where she was going. With this small hold she felt like she was helping. Even if it was really her father that was doing the carrying.

The young prince had not entirely passed out although Oliver wished he did from the excruciating pain that was shooting up his legs. He had neither wish to sprain an ankle or break a leg, but it seems either was inevitable now after that clumsy fall. His mind was trying so hard to stay conscious, but he was dangerously on the edge. Must not let go, he willed his mind to hold on. He can’t afford to lose consciousness in the middle of a dangerous forest with no one to help him. He’d be fodder for the bears or other wild animals in no time.
Then he heard a voice, so soft and sweet, that it can’t have belonged to this rugged jungle. The voice sounded fresh and energetic albeit worried. It sounded so rich and full like the rushing of the river or the rustle of the leaves under the warm and bright sun. He should bask in it, enjoy it while it lasts. But then he panicked. Was he hallucinating now? No. Must not give in, Oliver told himself. He needed to stay focused.
He felt a gentle touch on his face, but instead of being soothed, his heart raced with terror. Must not give in. Must not give in. There was no way something so soft could be a part of this wilderness. He was hallucinating. He was seeing and feeling things he shouldn’t be.
Then there was another presence. A strong masculine one this time. He had the serious touch of someone who meant business, and somehow that calmed him. Perhaps he wasn’t hallucinating at all. Perhaps these were well-meaning people coming to his aid. He was partly worried that none of his companions had come for him, but at least he was no longer alone. He hoped these people were not bandits or anything. The last thing the young lad wanted was to be kidnapped and exchanged for ransom from his father, the King of Mercia. He hoped they didn’t know who he was.
"I'm afraid it's broken... We need to get him out of here, so he can be properly treated and can rest.”
The momentary calmness had turned back into a frenzied panic again, and despite the soothing that the young girl was giving him, Oliver was anything was relieved. Still, he couldn’t get himself to speak. He didn’t know what to say anything. He just looked at the girl and the man, who was clearly her father, with wide frightened eyes. Where were they taking him? He needed to stay here in case his friends come looking for him. Oliver was about to utter the words when the man lifted him up, and Oliver moaned in pain as his leg throbbed with the pounding of a thousand drums yet again.
He should squirm. He should shout. He should protest. He didn’t know these people. Trust his first excursion out in the wild to turn out into an unfortunate accident. His father would never let him go out now. His father would probably even punish him for going out in the first place. But the young Oliver was beset by both fright and pain to be able to speak coherently, let alone speak at all. All that he did as he was being transported to heaven knows where was to bite his lip. At least the man sounded sincere when he said he needed to be treated. Oliver hoped against hope that that was indeed what he was going to do. His head was full of all the sinister things that bandits had done to others from the stories he had heard from the castle servants and villager friends.
But there was a girl. Ruthless and merciless bandits can have girls, right? “Please…it hurts...” That was all Oliver could manage to say as he was being carried by the man.

The day was past midday, the sun was still out, but the sun would set in a couple of hours. This caused deeper shadows amongst the forest. As Laurelin's father carried the boy back to their camp. It wasn't a walk that would take forever, but it was a good distance. Well hidden within the trees and set close by a river that ran through the forest. Laurelin's tiny hand held the boy's finger as she walked a long side her father. His finger felt oddly cold. Shaking a little now. Her eyes fled over where his face was not far away from her own. His eyes were open, but he was barely seeming a ware. Yet as her eyes ran over she could tell he was frightened. It was understandable, she was sure. For he fell, basically broke his leg and now carried off into the forest by strangers. If only he knew he was really amongst friends. That they meant no harm. At least not while Laurelin was around. She smiled for she was sure she could protect him. As her hand tightened around his limb. Laurelin's eyes then went to look up at her father who just smiled and nodded. Causing her to grin and look back at this boy.
"Shhh, its ok. We not trying to harm you, we're just trying to help you. We're nearly there. Just hold on."
Laurelin said in a low and encouraging tone in her voice. As her brown eyes looked over his rather glazed over blue eyes. Trying to make him not so concerned. To just stay calm. Her hand let go of his finger for a moment to run over his forehead gently. So he can feel calm, reassured that he was in a safe place with them. Laurelin knew of all he different kinds of folk who could have found him, he was rather lucky she had when she did. Her lips curled into a smile again as her fingers gently ran through his hair as she begged for him to just stay with her as she could see the camp approaching. She wished she could be rid of his pain that he was in. Every ounce of pain he was sending she caught and it made her heart sink a little. Soon, this was all temporary. She was sure about that. As her hand then returned to hold his finger gently.
As the path a head now led within the camp. Set up of some tents roughly placed around. With a fire spot in the dead centre for the main gathering and entertainment. As soon as the group arrived, Laurelin's mother came over and spoke with her father. Her mother was kind and gentle. As she watched over the boy, knew already what was wrong and what needed to be done. Expressing to take him to their tent. Where she could help the boy and he can rest. 'Laurelin, I'm going to have to get you to bring me a couple of things... Thank-you, sweetheart.' Her mother then spoke to her daughter after a motherly hug and gave her a list of things she needed to help the boy. It wasn't too many, but Laurelin was keen to help so she remembered it all rather well. She hoped.
"He will be ok?"
Laurelin motioned to go collect the items, but her gut made her stay in her spot. As her eyes shadowed over the boy in her father's arms. She was sure he'd be ok, but there was just something in side Laurelin that needed to know the truth. She needed him to be ok. Her eyes then ran over her mother as she asked her. As her tiny eyes bubbled, her chest heaving a little and felt a jolt of nerved up and down her body. Her mother then wrapped Laurelin in her arms and somehow it seemed to help a little. Though it also helped her eyes to leak. Her chest wrenching up the sobs as her eyes cried. She was after all 11 at time so even the incident was rather dramatic to her. Difficult to really comprehend. Slowly her mother pulled away a little as her hands came to Laurelin's shoulders. Her mother wiped some of her tears and smiled. 'I haven't had a great look at his injury, but it seems just a fracture. Bones, heal Laurelin. Not quickly, but yes he will be fine. He simply needs support for his leg and plenty of rest. He seemed to have hit his head pretty hard. Though I will need someone to watch over him and to make him feel comfortable while he's here. He is far from home, so we need only be as welcoming as if he was our own until he is found... Would you like to watch over him, Laurelin?' Laurelin slightly beamed at her mothers words. It seemed to calm her enough. She smiled as she mentioned he needed someone to watch him and then ask Laurelin if she would be the one to watch him. She nodded greatly, she could do that. She was probably going to do that anyways. Was a good chance her mother already knew that as well. With another warm hug with her mother thanking her and her eyes ran over the boy. She motioned to gather some stuff up that was needed. As then her father carried the boy into a tent with her mother.
Laurelin then a few moments after returned to the tent with supplies so to speak. Though as she went through what her mother had asked. They had simply been food and water. So best the boy was well fed, of course. While Laurelin was gone the healing of his ankle happened. So incase Laurelin screamed or saw something not so subtle to her childlike eyes, that connected to her brain of too many thoughts. Her small hand opened the tent door as she stepped in. Most of the healing had been taken care of. It was now a matter of wrapping it up a little more. Which Laurelin soon placed the items upon a table and helped her mother wrap the boy's ankle. Treatment underneath to help heal it and sooth it. Mobile enough so it would prevent him moving it so much and cause more damage or worse even more terrible pain. As her father and another gypsy prepared some light food. How ever well Laurelin was at things, she was after all just 11 years old, it was probably best she doesn't cook too much over an open fire. Though she had learn a thing or two as she grew up. Laurelin's mother did the last bit of wrapping and Laurelin helped cut the end off. Patted it down so it would stay. It was a small bed of a thin mattress and fur blankets. To make it extra comfy, but not too comfy that he was swallowed up in it. 'I think that is all for now, Laurelin. I gave him something for the pain. It should kick in soon, but he may need some coaching if he gets to dizzy... I shall return later to check how your doing, you will be in great care with my daughter. If you need anything you may simply ask it. You are our guest and our friend. We are on the look out for your people, so please just rest. You are not lost nor are you in harm here. You are safe and protected. You just simply need to rest... I shall leave you two for now. You may try seeing if he'll eat or at least drink some water, but allow him to take his time. It was quite an ordeal his body went through, so its just a matter of it all catching up... Take care of him Laurelin, and I shall come by in a couple of hours. If you are concerned just come find me.'Her mother spoke to Laurelin as they had finished the initial treatment. Then she spoke to the boy a bit, reassuring him he is safe here and that he just needed to rest. Before again speaking to her daughter. It wasn't so much taking care of him it was simply just be in his company, but she knew how Laurelin was. She was still young and was wanting to feel like she could help. Laurelin had good intentions and it was something to encourage.
Soon in a matter of minutes after his injury was well attended to the tent was left with just the boy and Laurelin. She was slightly nerved, but in a way this was what she had wanted. Wasn't it? Who was this boy? Her eyes played upon the door that her parents had exited, now looked upon in as a black spot and then her eyes moved over to where the boy laid. She was hoping he wasn't so scared now. The tent seemed much bigger at this age, when Laurelin was a child, but it was just quite cosy, quint. It was what it was needed for. The tent was rustic made. There was mix of different patches sewn together. Dangles here and there. Not so much of a design, but enough that it seemed to have care in the planing. She still remained near his ankle. Not sure what so much to do, but what to say. She had only been so used to interacting with her own kind. With the gypsies. Although other worldly folk have always interested her, but not all interacts she had with other kinds haven't been so pleasant. Even if she was just a child she still represented a way of living that some just never quite understand. Not that she was reading this into him, for he was young himself. She then moved to kneel more closer to his head. Her hand then finding the courage to take hold of his hand within her two hands. For her need to comfort him was far greater. She smile gently to him. Hoping he wasn't so far gone yet.
"What's your name?... Are you hungry? Thirsty?"
Laurelin asked nicely in her spanish accent tongue. As she caressed his hand gently within her hands. Smiling as she remembered her mothers word of friend. Perhaps it could be. Yet she didn't even know his name. Who was he?

It all seemed surreal all that was happening to him right now. One minute, he was having the time of his life exploring the forests for the first time. The next, he was crying in pain after hurting himself sliding down a ravine. He had thought it was going to be the worst day of his life. Not only had he wasted a new opportunity, he had even hurt himself in the process. And yet, it seems the stars were not yet done with him. A group of strangers were carrying him off to heaven-knows-where offering to treat and take care of him. It was all hard to take in for a young prince who had barely had his taste of life outside the castle. He knew he ought to be thankful that someone had found him. These folks seem well-meaning. But he couldn't shake off the fact that he was helpless in an unfamiliar territory with total strangers who can do anything they want wtih him. And there was nothing he could do about it.
"Shhh, its ok. We not trying to harm you, we're just trying to help you. We're nearly there. Just hold on."
Then he felt small tender hands holding onto his finger, and talking to him, reassuring him, in her tiniest yet confident little voice. Then the little girl laid her fingers on his forehead and ran them through his hair in the gentlest of touch, and Oliver felt seemingly reassured.
He could hear faint whispers of an ongoing conversation, but in his feverish state, he couldn't make sense of them. And he just let it go. Right now, they seemed to be keen on helping him, and Oliver was going to just let that thought cheer him up and keep any fears at bay. Then the girl was gone, and there was only a man and a woman. And Oliver didn't know how long it had taken, but they had fixed him up. He had moaned and cried in pain, but it was over all too soon. Oliver felt himself drifting in and out of consciousness as he just totally let himself go. There was nothing he could do anyway. It was best not to fight anything anymore.
"What's your name?... Are you hungry? Thirsty?"
From the farthest corners of his mind, he heard her voice again, the little girl. And he felt like he was being pulled back to the surface, not forcefully, but willingly. But the pain that continued to throb against his ankle was just pulling him just as hard back to unconsciousness. Oliver didn't know which one to obey. His mind wanted to respond to the girl, but his body was too weary.
"Oliver..." came the faintest sound from his lips. His mind, or whatever part of it that was still awake, searched back to the earlier conversations. He knew he heard the little girl's name from the woman. Laura? Lorelei? He tried as hard as he could to remember, but it seemed the more he exerted his mind, the more his body was winning the fight. He lifted his hand a bit towards her hoping she would understand the gesture, but before Oliver could do anythng else, the body totally won over. He felt his mind being pulled back down and then everything just went black.
-----
"Laurelin! Better hide cause here I come!"
Oliver turned around after having counted down from a twenty with his eyes closed against the bark of a huge tree. It was a warm sunny day out in the woods, and Oliver and Laurelin were playing their usual game of hide-and-seek...like they always have been since the day their paths crossed five years ago. At twenty, Oliver knew only too well that he was getting too old for this child's game, but he couldn't resist not playing it with his friend every time they meet year after year after year. And obviously, she was better at this than he was. Having lived most of her life in the forests, she knew every nook and cranny. Oliver almost always ended up being the it, but he wasn't complaining. It sometimes takes a while, but he always manages to find Lau wherever she might be hiding.
He started moving around and searching the immediate vicinity for his friend. A couple of minutes after, he had trekked farther away from the tree, but still found no sign of her. Five minutes more, and still there was no sign. But Oliver wasn't giving up. At least not yet. One time he was it, Oliver had to search for a good 30 minutes before he found Laurelin. And she was hiding quite well indeed. Oliver had playfully threatened not to play the game with her again if she keeps doing it to him. After that, Laurelin it seemed didn't try so hard to hide well anymore. Oliver almost always manages to find after just a couple of minutes of searching.
Ten minutes had now passed and there was still no sign of her. Instead of getting irritated though, Oliver was starting to get worried. Laurelin had promised him not to hide that long anymore. For her to be nowhere to be seen after too long a time, something had to be up, Oliver thought. He felt his heart beating rapidly in nervousness at the thought of something bad happening to Laurelin. And then he started to trace the path towards where her people were camping this year. Surely, she would be there. Would she?

It seemed so long ago and yet Laurelin remembered it vividly. The moment she had found her friend. This boy with such a need of freedom. She remembered the moment she had found him. Glad that she had come across him that day, though despite the reasoning. It seemed rather worth it, to get such a friendship out of it. It wasn't such a straight forward bond. It had started out as simple and quite new. No real clue as to where it would lead, but Laurelin knew he would play an important key in her life. Despite her lifestyle. Her need to be everywhere at different times. Laurelin never had the exact grounded feeling and with Oliver she caught glimpses of it. As if together they contrasted their two worlds. Offering something from either side. Ahh. Oliver. She remembered the moment she had learned his name and oddly never forgot it. She remembered the look in his eyes, how frightened he had been and yet seemed calm with her presence. She had lent him her name. Given it to his ears, but not soon after had his eyes shut. Laurelin's then small heart thudded, but she knew this sleep was not a bad one. He needed rest, but still she had this need to remain by his side. Even through the depths of night. Feeling she needed to be there for the moment he reopened his eyes. There was a trust made and ever since, it didn't seem to be tested. She wasn't sure there be anything to test. She missed him on her travels, but this made for an even greater time when she did see him again. For with Oliver, Laurelin experienced such joy, with no other. She showed him her world and it was always the two of them. For he was her world for a day or a few days.
Though now, Oliver wasn't quite the boy he was anymore. He was becoming a man. Laurelin herself was no longer such the small girl she once was. She was now a young woman. Despite these newly developed shells, the bond seemed only to be getting tighter. They weren't seeming to outgrow one another, but just growing more into their friendship. They still managed to play games, for they were still young and free.
This was a day to escape for Laurelin. A time to simply be with Oliver. There was just something about him. When she was with him, she felt warm and safe. That for a moment it was only them in this world, which was strange for Laurelin was raised as not the settling down type, but with Oliver there was just this sense of belonging. Even with the gypsies, Laurelin never felt a real connection. They were her family of course, but even in this circle she didn't feel completely understood. She was maybe more carefree. She wished to see the places they wished she didn't. There was seeming no one she was more closer to than Oliver. Which Laurelin couldn't quite understand, that he seemed to know her better even with the months apart. With Oliver she could simply be. As these later years had grown him up into a rather handsome state. There was a flutter in her heart that seemed to change slightly which Laurelin wasn't entirely sure what it was. She had always felt comfortable with him and still did. They were used to the touching each other innocently. Though now when they touched, there seemed something more that stirred.
Just a hint, but Laurelin was just in no need to understand them. To just allow what relationship they had grow as it should. She had found herself in the forest, with Oliver. Playing as they always seemed to do. This was her time to hide. Oh, yeah. She smiled. Laughed in her head. Then deciding it maybe best to not hide to well. In which a soft laughter escaped as she dropped her head. Otherwise Oliver may never find her and Laurelin would be left with trying to find, him. Rolling her eyes. Which didn't seem so hard to do. He wasn't always so good at covering his tracks. Which Laurelin had to wonder why? For when they had hunted he had covered them quite well, but when it came to these sort of trailings. He didn't seem to. Finding this a sweet thing as to leave his friend a way to always find him. Her heart beamed. For just looking in his eyes and she knew she was in his heart. No matter what happens, Laurelin felt she had a placement within him. Someone she could always turn to. Someone, she would miss if she never saw again. Her head lowered. As Oliver had motioned his back. She couldn't deal with that. It really wasn't just him. There was still so much left for Laurelin to discover in these lands. She hadn't the desire to go across the seas. She was a gypsy, but this land was her home. She was sure. Though a great deal of it, Laurelin wondered if it was Oliver. How could she give up on him? She had promised him. To look after him when she was a child and she felt a need of that promise still. She had promised to always be there if he needed it. She couldn't just abandon him without a way for him to find her. She couldn't do it to herself. She would miss him a great deal.
With the slight missing of her smile, was soon lightened as Oliver began counting. She needed this distraction. It was a lot to really contemplate and she hadn't the will to tell Oliver, not just yet. For she wanted just for a moment, a reminder of just what she would miss. She was realising it wasn't just the time spent and what they did. It was him really and the placement he had for her. She had an effect on him. These moments were just as important and she just wasn't sure she could so easily abandon him. It pulled at her heart. Breathed and smiled. There was time for this a little later, but she knew her decision. She knew it for a long time, it was just a matter of accepting it. Laurelin bore a simple white dress today. It was above her knees allowing easier movements. As she now ran through the forest. Darting through a winding path so to not so easily lead Oliver to her. It was a rather warm day as it was coming into summer. The dress fitted her body just right as it now shaped her more developed body. It had singlet straps, but the dress was simple. Her wrists bore random bangles she had collected over the years, mostly homemade. Her hair was long and blonde. It seemed to have gotten more golden as she got older. She let it go freely today as she motioned through the gentle breeze that hit her skin just with a slight cooling a effect.
She smiled and laughed as she skipped through the forest. Wondering when Oliver finds her, if he would think it best to go for a swim. To cool off. She was sure she'd restrain from splashing him to much, though he got her back. Oh, and the seeing who dives better. She was sure Oliver wouldn't refuse. He hadn't before. This was also a good time to see just how beautiful he had become and in which Laurelin was sure he had all the girls chasing him. Yet, she would smile and blush, for he seemed to prefer the times with Laurelin. She was pleased he hadn't allowed his heart to be so stolen that he grew out of interest, but Laurelin put it down that what they had was just something special. Oliver was after all so special. He had a carefree side, he wished to be set free. Wild? As he claimed his people would say. They didn't understand Oliver. Laurelin did. He maybe so called wild, but Laurelin knew his heart. He had such a heart. So much to give. He was young and he simply wanted to enjoy as much of this life as he could. They were two peas in a pod. Oliver's people didn't understand Oliver so well, just as Laurelin's people didn't understand Laurelin so well.
So as Laurelin ran she thought of these moments she could spend with Oliver. Wishing they would not end so quickly, but finding the need to not stay in a place for too long. There was always a new place that needed Laurelin. Something new to discover. The wind called. She would beg Oliver not to return to the kingdom this night and simply crash. Sleep under the stars by the gentle sound of the lapping water. She was going to need him. She wasn't so wishing to part from him. Just not so quickly. This was a hard time for Laurelin, than she had realised. With Oliver he seemed to ease it. Relax her. For now Laurelin would just take the time she could get. Just forget for a few more moments, that her life was maybe about to change. She had been given a choice and which one she chose would lead to a change.
Laurelin had come upon an edge of a pool of water below, the cliff was a decent height up, it allowed a nice view of the land. It was in close distance to her camp, so it shouldn't be too hard for Oliver. Laurelin smiled. As she had motioned to hid behind the rocks that sat at the edge. Just as she motioned. Nuri had flown in her presence. Catching her upon her arm with a smile. Her eyes looked upon the bird not understanding. Then she heard the motioning behind her. To find her parents meeting the distance. Feeling her heart race. She hadn't realised it was time already. No. She shook her head. Why was this now? Though not realising it would never have been the right time. Feeling her entire body grow numb. As her teeth toyed at her bottom lip. Laurelin now knew Nuri had led her parents to find her. She patted the eagle's head, though let her fly off again. This was not an easy thing. Her parents refrained from hugging her as they knew there was a good chance Laurelin would not take this all in. They smiled warmly with eyes slightly watered. Laurelin knew it was time.
'It is time, Laurelin. Have you made your decision? The tide is at its best and we cannot wait any longer. As we said before you are free to choose and neither one is wrong... So will you come with us? Or do you wish to stay.'
Laurelin's father spoke to her. Laurelin feeling like her body rushed with nerves. She was not ready for this. She never would have been. No. She shook her head. Why did she have to chose? She didn't want them to leave her alone, but then she didn't want to leave this land she knew so well. She has so much more to grow between her friendship with Oliver. She just couldn't find it in her heart to betray him like that. Or herself. She felt either choice she was letting someone down. As much as she knew the love her parents had for the sea. Laurelin just didn't have the same desire. Not now. She had always wondered if she would end up upon the sea. She had always wished to see the world. She just was. She just wasn't ready. No. She shook her head. She knew she couldn't take Oliver with her. If she could then she thought it be an easier choice. She just couldn't live with the idea of never seeing him again. Then she didn't like the idea she would never see her parents again either. Though as her parents had said Laurelin would find a time when she would break away from her family and seek her own path. They believed she was ready if she wished to chose that now.
"I... Do you have to go? I just, I just don't know. I don't want to lose you, though there is so much here I'll miss. I feel at home here. Can't you stay. "
'I'm afraid Laurelin, we do. Whether it is now, or down the track it won't be any easier and believe me, this is hard for us as well. We will miss you Laurelin if you stay, but you deserve the choice. We don't wish to force a choice for you, especially if your not ready. Even though we are apart we will always be with you Laurelin. You know that... We understand there is a lot still here for you Laurelin. A lot that still ties you to this land, but not for us... What is in your heart, Laurelin? Whatever you decide, we will be proud of you.'
"I want to.... Stay! My heart says to stay... I... I'm sorry. There is so much I'm not ready to give up and I'm not ready for the sea. I love it here and I'm. I'm not sure I can give it up. I. There is so much I'll miss. Oliver. Oh, I can't turn away from him. But, I'm going to miss you. So much. I... Oh, I don't know if I am making the right choice."
Laurelin answered her mother. She paused as she thought her answer. It was like she was split. It seemed her heart begged to stay, but still wished to not lose her parents. Her voiced softened as she said she wanted to stay. Her voice picked up as she was confessing what seemed to her to be selfish thoughts, but it seemed best to get them off her chest. Either choice it was a selfish one. She simply didn't want to live at sea. Not now. She didn't want to give up this land. Not yet. She just wanted to stay. As she spoke it all she knew this was where she wanted to be. Her friendship with Oliver was still so important and she knew how important it was to him. She just couldn't turn away from him. Not when she was sure he still needed her. Though this meant giving up her parents. She loved her parents. So much. She had rebelled at times and wandered from the group. As a young teenager does, but not fearing her parents would ever truly leave. Laurelin would always return and they would always be there. They would always love her no matter what. She knew that. As she knew now she was making the choice to stay, she was still feeling it wasn't the right one. How was she suppose to know? Why did this have to be now?
'You are making the right choice, Laurelin. A very difficult one, we know. This is where you wish to be and you clearly don't desire the sea. That is alright, your just being honest. There is still so much for you here, Laurelin. We can see how much you desire to live here and there is nothing wrong with that. It is your path. Your life and we wish you only to be happy wherever it maybe... We Love you Laurelin. Please know we will always be with you. As we always taught you, never say never. There is always hope Laurelin. We know this is a tough choice, but we have faith in you. You are ready for this. If we didn't think it, we wouldn't be leaving now. You have a friend in Oliver, we can tell how much you miss him when your away from him. Don't feel a shamed if you feel your choosing him over, us. Your not. You have only found this friendship and whether it be now or later. Laurelin you would seek your own life in this world. We can also see how happy you are around Oliver and how hard it would be to part of him. He is a young man, that we know will look over you. In a way I'm sure you will take care of each other, as you already have. He is something special and we feel he needs you just as much. You may not be happy at first, but over time you will find peace again. Goodbye Laurelin.'
'This is a small reminder of our love. We will always love you Laurelin. We couldn't be more proud and sure, you will be fine. Goodbye Laurelin. If your not comfortable moving on with the gypsies just yet and feel you need to remain here with Oliver. Then your free to do that. You are now free to set your own path how ever it is you wish... We will never forget you.'
It was now finally happening. Her parents were leaving. She knew the choice now had been made. She knew deep down she was making the right choice, but she just was going to miss them. She took in their words and it eased her a little. That she had their support in her choice. Though as they spoke. Her eyes blurred. Blinking as her eyes watered. Felt a deep hole within her. As her tears began as they said goodbye. As the last bit of the child in her, wished to latch on and beg them to stay. She wasn't so sure she was as ready as they claimed, but she just knew she wasn't ready to leave. As they spoke of Oliver. She just. No, she wasn't ready. Her face lowered as her mother kissed her upon her head. With gentle touch upon her cheek. Feeling sort of out of her own body as her eyes wept and it was gut wrenching inside. Her hand made for the tears. They were falling in a nice pace. Not to heavy as her last attempt at trying to seem she was ok with this. Or at least she could try. As her father handed her the gold cross. Not really paying too much attention to it. For now was not as important as losing her parents in this moment. Laurelin didn't wish to forget this or really say goodbye. There was every chance she wouldn't get the chance to ever see them again. That was killing her. Her father knew Laurelin wouldn't be so easy to move past this and feel a little lost. As she was use to her parents always being there. To say it is ok to stay. if it is what Laurelin wishes and Oliver agrees. To not be thinking she needed to do the usual and follow the gypsies when she might feel in need of her friend. He was sure she would and he was glad to be leaving her with someone that cared about her. Laurelin smiled softly at the words. She felt this hole and this all stopping her. Not sure what she was meant to do and with her father's words. Made it feel a little more easier that she didn't need to know. Didn't need to know where she wished to go. For now Laurelin was feeling a tad numb and probably not wishing to just decide anything else. She had made a hard enough choice. Her tears wept still as she motioned to hug them deeply. She latched on which seemed ages. This moment was all that mattered now. Anything past this, Laurelin just didn't know. It was all numbing. As she felt the ripping of a part of her heart a very large part. Oh. As she held onto her parents. Wishing for this moment to never end. Though she couldn't hold them here forever and soon they let Laurelin go. Let her begin the path of her life.
It now seemed a lifetime ago, as Laurelin just stared into the space her parents once stood. Watched as they left until they vanished. Not able to pull herself away and trying to hold on to the moment as she could. Feeling the ripping deepening. As her hand clutched tightly. As her sobs grew a little more and her body couldn't bare to stand. She felt so weak. So Lost. As her hands led herself to the large rocks. Not even paying attention as she was now sitting upon it. Everything around her was blurry. She felt and saw only the hole deep inside. As her clutched hand now clutched at her chest. As her sobs flowed. Until they flowed uncontrollably. Her hand then motioned to open. As her eyes cleared enough to see the cross. Her lips kissed the gold. Vowing in that moment to never let this go. To never let her love for them go. They would always be with her. With that a whole new set of tears flowed. Laurelin was now lost in a deep pain. Which she had no idea where it was leading her. She wished to simply remain on this rock for how ever long it took. Until she could cope with the hole that was tearing her apart. Her hand clutched again seeking for something to hold, but it wasn't helping. The pain was still there. She had forgotten Oliver was still looking for her and he was the one she needed. Unable to move. Unable to reach him. What if he was already there and she was just already too lost to realise?

As Oiver made his way to the gypsy camp, he noticed Laurelin's eagle soaring over the canopy of trees above him. There was no mistaking the mighty bird that was almost always by Laurelin's side when not out hunting or just flying away being a free bird. And this made him stop in his tracks. He furrowed his brows as he followed the bird with his gaze, watching it just circling well above him. If Nuri was out flying, then that means that Laurelin must still be out there as well. But what was weird about seeing Nuri flying was that she seemed to be waiting for something. She was just circling and circling rather than darting from over trees in a flash like she usually does. Oliver continued to stand there, until suddenly he noticed Nuri change direction. She had swerved from her last circle, and then immediately dived towards him. Oliver was caught offguard and he stumbled back as Nuri flew past him and before resting on a branch of a nearby tree. "What is it, Nuri?" Oliver asked the bird as he picked himself up and dusted himself off. As if in answer, Nuri flapped her wings and took flight again, this time heading through the trees, towards the cliffs.
Oliver knew an enigmatic order from a bird to ignore it, so he followed Nuri, running as fast as his feet would carry him through the forest floor, jumping over logs, dodging underneath low-lying branches. His earlier worry now about Laurelin in trouble had intensified, and it pushed him to move faster than ever before. "Nuri, wait up!" he called out as he continued to run after the bird.
Then the trees started to thin out before him, and Oliver stopped at the last line of trees, leaning against the branch of one to catch his breath. When he lifted his head, he saw before him Laurelin talking intently with her father and mother. It doesn't look like one joyous or casual conversation so he stepped back and kept himself hidden behind some bushes. Laurelin's back was to him, but Oliver could easily see the sad look on her parents' faces. What was going on? He stayed there for a few good minutes until both Laurelin's parents turned and left, leaving Laurelin in some sort of stunned silence. She had moved to the large rocks and just sat there, her shoulders hunched before they started to rock into sobs. Oliver couldn't hide himself any longer, and decided to step out from behind the bush.
Tentatively, he noiselessly walked to where Laurelin was, approaching her from behind. He wasn't sure exactly what had happened, but he knew it was no good news. His heart went out to Laurelin to see her all sad and broken down like she was now. When he was but an arm's lenght behind her, Oliver heaved a deep sigh. "Lau?" he hesitantly spoke out, his voice tender, a look of worry and sadness written all over his face.

There were shadows being cast. As the clouds passed over the sun above. Just faint shadows. Which Laurelin took no heed. Her body limb upon the rock she had broken down, upon. Feeling numb. Feeling all things she wasn't sure she had been so prepared to feel. There was that notion these were tears of a child and maybe they were. So be it. They would last and least Laurelin hoped they wouldn't. As her hand clutched at her heart. Having the need to just crash more and lay in a ball where she sat. She was just to lost to even contemplate any other movements. Still having that need to hold on to something... To Oliver. She. How was she supposed to make him understand all this. Was there even anything to understand. It was still hard for her even to really know. Her free hand made to her face, covering and catching her tears. That seemed to flow even through her hand. Unable to really catch them. As her heart leaped of too many things at once.
It wasn't until his voice came to her ears, that she was aware Oliver was actually there. At first it had been but a ghost. Feeling she was merely hearing what she wanted to hear. Had he really found her? As her hand released her face and was able to see him. Her eyes searched over his face. There was movement inside of her as he was here. Her eyes cried a little more, but there was a beam inside that he was here. That the one person she could turn to, was but an arms length. She knew as she watched his face. Merely the look in his eyes. She knew she had made the right choice. All this was worth it in someway. As Laurelin motioned her limb body to face him, but she still sat. Laurelin reached out her hand. Wishing to take hold of even a finger much like she had done once before. To be the one that needed him for this moment in time. Laurelin's eyes dropped. A faint smile with a hint of a weakness. As she needed him most of the time. It was why or at least part reason she stayed. Needing his arms. Needing for him to hold on to. As it was not helping trying to hold on to herself. It didn't seem so bold to simply feel she loved him. Laurelin always knew she had. Her brown eyes ran over his expression. For she felt it through it in him. He was always her family and in ways now her only family. Yes, someone she would miss if never saw again.
"Oh, Oliver... They're gone, across the seas... I couldn't go with them. I wouldn't... Please stay with me Oliver... I.. suddenly feel so lost. "
Laurelin though felt numb and somewhat lost. She was suddenly feeling at home. Now Oliver was but a touch away. Her body ran with needing him. His touch. His heart. His comfort. She simply wanted to rest upon him and let this pass. Somehow hope he'd make it all better. No. She just didn't want him to leave. She had lost her parents and in ways felt a part of herself. She just couldn't bare losing him. As her voice came in broken forms through her tears as her hand made out to hold his. Reach out to him. As her eyes looked she wasn't so sure Oliver knew at all what had happened. Her parents left, that was what happened. Wishing for her head to be placed upon his shoulder as her voice softened, as the crying had caused a lot out of her. As she asked him to stay. It was something she knew she didn't need to ask. Yet, she just needed him to know. As she catched her breath and the feel him so close. Eased her tears. A gut wrench broke here and there. Though for the most part her tears slowed. They flowed, just not as painful. As it was as if her heart was bleeding out. She just suddenly didn't quite know where she was. Where she was suppose to go. She was so free now and yet so lost. The only thing she knew. Was she felt comfort here with Oliver. She would have made the choice again and again. This was the reason. Because he was very much a part of her. She always felt he was her soul mate, something to do with more than just love. A place to feel safe and a place to turn to.
With his close tenderness and now the gentle soothing of the water behind. She was slowly more coming around. As her tears fell at a more bearable pace. It paid to take her mind off a little. As she sort to not seem so run down. Oliver was the little beam of light. As Laurelin realised he had found her. It brought a gentleness to her lips. When she needed him, he was always someone she could count on. In hoping now she was safely in his arms, Laurelin dug into this place she was happy to call home. As she motioned to direct it more towards the light. Try not be so sad, even though it was hard.
"TAG! How did you find me, Oliver? However, I am just pleased you did. Just don't run off on me, just yet. I surrender."
Laurelin laughed softly through her tears that bubbled and was caught in between her words. As she making an effort to sound more not so sad. Allowing the misery be not so serious. As the touch she realised he was now tagged. Her eyes played upon his with a gentleness. Her voice softened as she asked. Feeling her friend every much still beside her. Asked purely. As in the game of tag it had not been so easy for him, but for now she was speaking generally. She always knew he'd be able to find her. For Laurelin had a little more faith in him, than he gave her credit for. However he came to be here, Laurelin was just content that he had found her. Just toying as she didn't wish to play tag right about now. Although she was sure if he ran, she would have to find the energy to find him. She just surrendered to the here and now. As she wished to curl up to her friend. Be embedded by his embrace and just let these emotions pass.

The moment Laurelin turned to face him, Oliver felt like a huge rock just hit him square in the chest. Tears were streaming down her eyes and she looked totally miserable. He had seen her talking to her parents, so it wasn't hard for Oliver to deduce that this must be caused by something they had said. Whatever it was though, Oliver felt like he felt her pain just as well. When she reached her hand out, Oliver took it right away, giving it a gentle and reassuring squeeze. This was something new and unexpected. He had never seen Laurelin like this before. She was always happy and gay, always bouncing about, a small ball of energy, but today, she was anything but that. She was weak and limp, and feeling all totally drained out.
"Oh, Oliver... They're gone, across the seas... I couldn't go with them. I wouldn't... Please stay with me Oliver... I.. suddenly feel so lost."
It didn't take long for Oliver to know exactly what his bestfriend needed. He pulled Laurelin into a tight embrace as he kneeled there beside her. He wrapped his arms around her and engulfed her in his warm and caring embrace. His hand went up to stroke her hair as he whispered soothing words to comfort her. "I'm here now, Lau. I won't leave you." He wished he could say that things would be all right but to know that her parents had left and that she had decided to stay, that was something big for her. Lau was still 16 years old, and she's already set out to face the rest of the world on her own. Well, technically, he didn't think he could allow that. He knew he would be there beside her. She will not be alone.
He let her cry more of her tears on his shoulders until she quieted down. Not soon after, she seemed to have receovered or maybe just trying to act like she did, she started to play again. Pulling back from the embrace when she tagged him, Oliver gave him a little reprimanding look. While he was glad that she was trying to be brave, he wanted her to let it all out. He didn't want her to bottle all her emotions in. That would be bad for her.
"Nuri brought me here, and I'm glad she did. I was worried about you when you didn't turn up for minutes." She still looked all sad although she was trying her best to smile through it. He reached a hand out and wiped the tear from her cheeks with his thumb. "I'm sorry this has to happen to you, but why did you stay? You're still young, Lau, you need your parents, you should have gone with them." Oliver didn't understand why Laurelin chose to stay behind and be separated from them. He himself would have felt utterly lost without his family.

The centre of her heart ached so badly. Her mind was in no way seeking sense. Her eyes merely sort Oliver. She felt the thudding of her heart as his eyes looked upon her face. Looked into his eyes, it made her weep and her head drop. For he was the choice she made. It was the right choice, but it meant she gave up a lot as well. Despite the pain in coursed for so much to lose, she just couldn't lose Oliver. The moment he took her hand sent her into a wave of emotions. Begging to pull him in and never let go of him. Hold on to him. Make him hold on to her. She could feel from the emotions on his own face. This gentle desire to care for her. He needed her. Whether he'd ever speak it. He needed her. In ways she needed him. She most defiantly needed him now. With the look and the hold of her hand. She could feel he was no where else, than here. It caused a sweet sensation through her body. This devotion, she just couldn't live without it. She couldn't live without him. Not if it meant never seeing him look upon her in such a way. When his hands reached out to need her. How would she know across the water? How would she know he'd remember her? Her head fell down in her hands. How could she ever forget him? She shook her head. She wouldn't forget him, but with every chance had she had gone it would have happened. That she just couldn't face.
Her entire body ran of a mixed sensation as he took her in his arms. It was warm and it was home. Oh, it was home. As Laurelin held on to him as tight as she could. Curled up to him. Embedded herself within him. Needing to feel she was a part of him and yet, it didn't feel it was ever close enough. Her head fell heavy upon his shoulder, in the curve of his neck. She could smell how warm and inviting he was. It was a comforting smell and very soothing. Her legs still balled up, but rested upon his own. Her hands curled up between their chests. Her right hand ran across his chest, pulling him and herself closer. Cuddled as well as she could. Felt the caress of his hand upon her hair, she lifted her face for a moment as her eyes looked to his own as Oliver spoke. Believing them from how he looked upon her. She never desired a promise so much, but in this she wished. In this she believed. It was all he needed to say. It was all he need to do. Was be here. To be there for her. She wanted to remain beside him, possibly forever. She never was one to seek such a thing, but she could stop herself now. He was her other half. The piece that made her soul complete. Her hand moved from his chest and ran up to his cheek. Felt it pull him in closer. Felt the pure love within his skin. There was nothing in this man, she could ever fault. He was all she ever needed. Even the flaws she admired. As her eyes sprang these new tears, her lips smiled faintly as she saw him. Looking down upon her, she never wanted to forget this. She never wanted him to stop looking at her in such a way. Felt the drawing of her heart leap over bounds in all kinds of directions. Just any directions that led to Oliver. Not away. No never away. He was beautiful. There were so many things working around, but this was why she stayed. As her hand caressed his cheek. Felt how amazing he truly was. Her eyes fluttered in between glances, felt his drawing her in. Her lips smiled, before she took the courage to look away. Returning her head upon his shoulder. Her hand ran down his cheek back to his chest. Her hand felt the thudding of his heart. While her ear heard it in the curve of his neck. Closing her eyes as the tears fell down her cheeks and she simply fell within this moment. Falling within him and for once needing to be the one that needed to be caught. Oh and he was here. As she felt the rise and fall of her breath. The thudding of his heart was bringing so much peace. It was painful to look away from his eyes, but it was worth it to feel his heart. Beating now for her.
"I'm glad as well. I've never needed you more, than I do now. I just wish to remain here and never let you go."
Laurelin's eyes opened to see nothing. It was all black and it was all blurry. As her voice spoke in much of a soft whisper to his words. Feeling the embrace around her keeping her together. Smiled softly at how homely it was. How quiet and soothing it was. Allowing her heart to crumble as it wished. Helped ease the pain as it came at her in shot after shot. Otherwise she'd half expect she'd b upon this rock in million of pieces with no hell in putting them together. Though with Oliver here, she could feel him keeping these pieces in place and held on to those that couldn't help than to fall away, saving them for later when she could take them back. She was trying to settle in a more settled pace. She wanted to try and deal with this. Only she had no clue how to. She was just glad she wasn't alone. Laurelin ached in pain as Oliver pulled away to give her a look as she tagged him. Perhaps he was serious. Perhaps she had underrated his devotion. He didn't wish for her to try and make it better or figure it out. He seemed to want to do it himself. Let her fall and keep falling, knowing he was there to catch her. That she didn't need to fear these places Laureling felt in the deep corners of her mind, thinking she could never return from, but with the firm touch under her hand. She knew he was here to bring her back. He saw a young girl, needing to be loved. To be taken care of. In need of him. She was in ways still at the brink of being a woman and now with the world at her feet. So easily she could trip and fall. It was scary. It was overwhelming. She barely knew whether she was ready but it was that thing, she wasn't sure she'd ever be ready for this.
Felt the gentle thumb upon her cheek catching her tears. She couldn't help than to smile. For Oliver was here. It caused more tears to flow. So many mixed tears it was hard to balance it all, but she wanted to feel all she could for Oliver. She could see now he was ready for her to fall. It sparked something as he touched her skin. Set her heart to thudded and weep. His words set a few things within her. She had just made this choice and he sort to tell her it had been wrong. She should of left. It caused more tears. As it only set to make it worse. As she knew she made the right choice, but still that second thought not really believing it. Her mouth set out dry as she couldn't help than to burst out as he said she should have gone. There was a part that agreed, though a part just, well it was too late and no she shouldn't of. The confusion. Only thing not confusing was Oliver. With the small burst, it settled a little as her hand moved for her tears. So not to bubble to much in the mess. As she turned her head upwards. He really didn't know. She couldn't half blame him for not knowing. Somewhere within in this hold and in his eyes, she felt he knew. He was just not paying attention towards it. Had she had told him before she had decided and allowed him to help her choose. She knew he would have said the same. To go with her parents, whether it was truly in his heart or not. When in truth Laurelin would have wanted him to beg her to stay. He didn't need to speak it. She knew he needed her.
"I also need you, Oliver... I... I couldn't leave you. The thought of losing my parents breaks my heart, but the thought of walking away from all this, shatters me completely. I fell in love with that boy below the hill. How could I ever turn away from him? Does he not need me? Would he truly have me set sail without a second thought? I couldn't face missing you that much." Laurelin's voice remained soft as she spoke of needing him. She couldn't leave him. She couldn't lose Oliver for good. Let him know the reason for her choosing. Her eyes softened as she looked up at him. Her lips smiled faintly as she remembered when she found him. As her hand moved to his face, her fingers brushing the hair away from his face. As he was looking down upon her. As she spoke of this boy, who she saw looking back at her still. Couldn't help through her heart breaking and her tears. She couldn't help the faint smiles, her heart trying to thud. She couldn't help the falling in love as much as she couldn't help the falling apart. Did he truly wish her to sail away? From the embrace around her, she begged this to be her answer. Could he live without her? Her eyes squinted, it brought tears at such a thought if could. For she could not. She wouldn't and couldn't have missed him to that extent, and live to tell the tale of it. She'd much rather to jump of this cliff minus the water below, than to face this world without him, than to break his heart and cause him to miss her.
