The forest was over cast, shadowy. The crisp winter rang through it, causing a chill through the air and freezing with its icy touch. As Kory walked among it. Walked among this forest which seemed so many days, so many weeks. Perhaps it was even years and she hadn't realised. No it had not been years, it frankly hadn't even been many months. It be lucky if it had been even half a year, but really who was counting. As her green eyes looked to and fro. What reason did she have to be counting? There was little at the end of this path save a notion she was alive. That was the reason for any of this and the notion there were several other lives needing to be lived. It was a refreshing feeling and yet, Kory still had that tingle this forest was still filled of magic and not everything so nice. She wasn't scared, just pre-cautious. She had not reason to be afraid. She had her weapons if need be and what really matter her gut instinct to survive. It wasn't unusual to hear sounds of different kinds in and around. Sometimes the more thing to worry about is when it goes completely silent. Only for now, she did hear sounds. Sounds of screams. That rang from the west of where she stood. The caves? She contemplated. Stopping her dead centre, before she took off in the direction of the caves. She couldn't overly tell how many screamed, but it was sounding more than one at least. Who knew?
As she scrapped her bare calves on twigs along the way before she soon met the looming caves of the forest. Falling back to a walk. How many times she had come by this, only to keep on going? She couldn't truly say. There was hardly a reason to go in until now. Saw the faint light from within. From a hole deep within. Heard the screams so close and the movement within. There wasn't any other choice as she motioned within the cave. Keeping her movements as silent as she could as most of the cave was rather dark. Though with the faint light ahead helped her guide through. Until she finally came across the group of young teenagers, who were lucky to be any older than sixteen and the monster's flickering eyes around them. With the fire in the middle. Kory motioned behind a rock from out of sight. As she looked to how many eyes she could see and watched as the eyes motioned just a little that, Kory could now see their legs. Spiders? She had heard about them and now she was seeing them. Not just any spiders. These were straight out of someone's nightmares. Giant and looking to kill or feed. Good thing. As Kory motioned quietly for her swords one by one, Kory faced her nightmares. Head on. As she motioned to move, she caught movement just a little from her and moved towards it. One of the spider's victims. As Kory touched the forehead, the young girl woke with a barely there mind and breath. As Kory shhhed her. Realising it was probably her screams she had heard and was too late. Kory motioned to the wound at her torso, but finding there was little she could do. She hadn't the power for this and as her eyes looked nor much time before the whole cave becomes a slaughter house. As quietly Kory moves the girl to more secluded area. Tugs the water flask from her hip and pouring some down the girls mouth.
"Can you hear me? Just hold on, but I gotta help your friends or we all might die."
Kory whispered in the girls ear, with a gentle and reassuring voice. As the girl nodded faintly and let out a coursed breath in response. Leaving the flask by the girl and with a final stroke to her head. Kory motioned to get prepared. She would do what she could to save them all as stepped closer, before looking back to the girl if it was the last thing she did, she would save them all. Kory motioned in a more better position as the spiders etched a little closer. Kory motioned around silently and quick as she could, with her swords at one of the spiders. Taking it out by its legs and running a blade through its heart. Causing the spiders to halt. As Kory then made to the centre where the rest of the kids were. Holding out her swords in preparation with the spider blood dripping from the points. They halted for a moment, but the spiders began moving again. Somehow Kory could take these out. They were killable, which meant she could find a way. To do what she set out. Which was save them all. Find an opening enough for them to escape and survive herself if given the chance.

Lancelot did his normal rounds with a smaller group of the knights. It was there job to protect the people of Camelot and help keep it's walls strong so part of that duty was to do round on which allowed one to become more familiarized and also to keep any and all unwanted things out. Lancelot road upon his horse his head held high and full of pride though his round was over instead of heading back to Camelot he headed off. Lance needed a little time to clear his head and gather his thoughts in an organized way. He was ok being on his own seeing as he was a great swordsmen probably one of the only ones who could fight King Arthur as an equal though he did not let that go to his head for his kind heart and his courageousness was what he was really about. Patting his horse on the side of the neck they traveled on going way further than he had planned but when lost in through one does not pay too much attention to where or how far they are going.
While walking an all too familiar noise rang deep within the air, pulling on the reins his horse came to a halt and as Lancelot's ears perked up he listened carefully. They were screams, young screams as his heart rate sped up he clicked his heels into the sides of the horse and sped off as fast as he could get the horse to go. Someone was in trouble and it was his job, nay his duty to help them. Lancelot would lay his life on the line for anyone in Camelot. The noise seemed to be coming from the caves and he knew what that meant they were in the caves beneath the Forests of Balor. Had he been traveling all this way the whole time shaking his head a little in confusion as to where he truly was. Shaking it away he concentrated on the sounds. The Balorian Spider and deadly and most aggressive spider... Extremely large spider. It did not take long for him to get there, jumping off of his horse he quickly ripped his sword out of it's sheath and raced into the cave.
Looking around in the darkness he followed this light until he came to middle where kids were standing and what seemed a strange looking lady, beautiful but strange none the less. He did not question who or why they were there instead he raced into battle wearing his courage on his sleeve. Lancelot swung his sword with might as he spun and jumped trying to reach the children. He would not let any more harm come to them even if it cost him an arm and a leg. Luckily the spiders though large they were, they were vulnerable to his sword.
He made it to the middle and he looked at the woman who had her swords drawn as well and he smirked a little. Lancelot was not one to put his nose up at a woman who could fight he actually admired it really, a strong woman was good that way she did not always have to rely on her husband or another man to help them at all times. "Are you ready to get these kids out of here My Lady?" It was not really a question but a statement, Lance would fight even if she would not it mattered not to him as long as they all got out safely than that was all that mattered. "I'll take up front and you take the rear, keep the kids in the middle and we can make it out of this forsaken place!" He smiled at her as he rounded up the children keeping them together was the best way to get them out. But before moving any further he waited for the woman to answer him, he wanted to know if his plan would be carried out or if she had other thoughts, or maybe she was not there to help, though hopefully she was! The centre of the cave was still quite dark, the fire flickered upon the stone walls and lit up what it could. Felt the warmth of the fire spring up upon Kory's skin, but it wasn't needed. She felt the fire within that would drive her to succeed. As her hands felt the balanced weight of her swords. She stood her ground, her eyes upon the crawling legs half covered by shadows at the ready for any unexpected movement. There was no easy way around this. Kory was out numbered and they could possibly take them all out. As long as she could at least distract long enough for the kids to get out, then that was what Kory would do. As her eyes spotted the kids from the corner of her eye. They were the hope for tomorrow and every life needed its chance to live. As her hair swished ever so gently like a trail of fire. Feeling the rush the need for them all to survive. Felt it in every muscle that this was going to be a tough battle, she didn't second guess whether she was ready as she felt the shadows slowly emerge. Half pondering if running the kid out now would work, but she feared with the flickering beat eyes that could create chaos that she did not intend.
There was a movement in the cave that was so silent, like a mouse that even Kory didn't hear nor expected. It was much out of shadows the sound of a sword as this man almost fell within the circle. Taking Kory a little by surprise as her green eyes looked over him as stood with such courage and quite a lot of pride. Kory hadn't expected anyone would have stopped to help, it was so deep within the forest, but she was glad he was here. Who ever he was? As her eyes trailed to his crest. Knight. Although as she corked her head slightly she saw a warrior's heart. There was something more in his eyes, he had seen the world and wanted to see more. This was his path and she could feel the passion from where she stood. She felt the rise of her own chest beating to the same rhythm as his. Kory could admire his smirk with taking in what he could with a first glance at her. A woman with a sword, better yet two swords and two daggers strapped to her thighs. She was more than just a woman with a little gift with fighting. She fought from every emotion in her body, she felt her blood coil and sing. She was not a knight, she was not as skilled as a man, but she was as skilled as woman could be, maybe a little more. But her bravery was hardly ever matched. All a hero needs in the end is bravery, to walk into fire without hesitation and go the extra mile with a smile. To give hope.
As her eyes also kept upon the approaching spiders, she heard what he said. This rather dashing knight, she was quite sure could shake up the cave with her along with it. Who was his name? Though it wasn't the time really to ask. Kory smiled at his words, though she was not his lady, she still felt it oddly sweet for him to say. Why else was she here? To save the kids. Felt a rise from his words. Together they could bring the kids back home. First things first, they needed to find a way through this and find an escape. Even if Kory was trained to fight to the end, this maybe an everlasting match and might cause more death to happen. Felt the shear strength within his words. His drive was unlike any she had seen and well half much like her own. Along these lines she felt honoured to be alongside him and felt the beating of his heart. His will to thrive and rescue the kids.
"Of course... I'll stop at nothing... Let's bring them home."
Kory answered with all confidence with little sway. With it deep in her voice, her heart and her soul. There was little that could hold her back or give cause to simply sit on the sidelines. It wasn't even a thought not to fight. With all the training she had, she was never taught to back down. Now she doesn't go looking to fights and will avoid a fight as she within her training she was taught to never quit. To always fight her last fight. To put everything on the line... Kory nodded about his placements, even if Kory never planned, but she found following another easier said than down. As she expressed to bring the kids home. Wasting no time as Kory turned to face the approaching spiders. Luckily for now coming almost one at a time. Maybe some scared than the other spiders. As Kory soon found her sword running through a spider leg. Before ducking so not to be hit by it's fangs. Felt being pushed back as she swung both her swords. Another cut on its leg and it scrambled backwards enough for Kory to gain some more ground. As her moves of her sword picked up strength and speed. Eventually enabling dig both across it's head as it burrowed down and she cut it's life short. With its blood staining her swords and dripping down her hands, her body. As she turned to face two more spiders. Feeling pushing into the circle. Feeling the onslaught that was coming. Felt the rise knowing she had to be the symbol of hope and not show weakness. To rise above any doubts trying to linger a thought. As Kory motioned her swords between the two monsters. With difficulty, but with purpose. To be the hero the world needed. To be the hero these kids needed now.

Lance looked at her as she spoke, and he smiled at her. It was good to know that she was on his side. On that note he hooked his sword to his side and though it was not the smartest thing to do he needed to get the kids all rounded up and together so it would be easier to get them out of the cave plus he was sure that if he was helping kids than the young woman would be able to have his back. One by one he gathered the kids and made them hold each others hands as to form a line that way no one would be able to get left behind. With a deep breath and his grip tight he rounded up the kids like a flock of birds he was not going to leave anyone behind even if it cost him his life and that included the woman beside him willing to rick everything for them as well. They would all make it out that was all Lance could think about was making it out safe and sound.
Lance pulled his sword back out as he gathered the kids just in time to because the spiders gathered speed. They were hungry and were not going to stop till they fed. Fending off a few from one side he had missed one on the other and it had stricken one of the older kids and a glass breaking bone chilling scream filled the air. The kids scattered to one side still gripping each others hand as if it would protect them. Lance's eyes wend wide as the child fell to his knees and hit the ground with a thud. There was no sound no breath that filled the air from that child. With anger Lance lashed out and killed the spiders and though he was angry his swordsmanship was precise for he did not practice and train every day for nothing! One a spot was cleared around the child he gripped the boy and flung him over his shoulders.
Turning to the red headed woman he nodded and spoke up over the screaming and crying children "It's now or never!" There was no time to spare gathering kids in the middle while the other laid limp over his shoulder he swung his sword hard making sure to clear a path that would lead them out of the caves for good. "Do we have all of them? Do you know?" Lance asked back to her as he defended the kids along side her, there were thousands of them and it would not take too much longer before Lance tired between the numbers of the eight legged creatures and the child's pure weight upon his shoulder, he was sure hoping they had everyone and would be able to start moving instead of just fighting where they stood. Bringing the with the clash of her swords to the approaching spiders. Kory moved and flowed with every strike. Doing what she could to distract while the knight made sure the kids were in a safer spot. There was little they could do as far as wiping the whole cave clean. The chances of that were slim, but Kory had vowed to fight how ever long it took. If it took ten spiders, then she had to push through it. Backing down just wasn't an option, but she couldn't be unwise about it either. Not with the innocences at rick. There was little chance to really admire the man. The knight, for now. As the cave was dark and the legs were everywhere. It almost enough to send shivers down one's spine, Kory did not like another's legs upon her that she did not wish to be there and defiantly not to this scale. Cutting down another spider. One less it meant. Though it caused the rising of her breath, the sweat to increase and the stain of blood upon her skin. Only causing the blood to pump inside her more.
As Kory fought her way with another of the spider's. Ducking as much to not be stung. Slicing through the legs, finding chopping them off left the spider more vulnerable, for easier attacks. Then came an almighty scream. Able to cut through glass and ultimately Kory's heart. As for a moment she froze with her swords in an attack mode. As her green eyes fled about the cave as the scream had filled the room. NO. NO. NO. Kory bettered as she watched the kid crumble to the floor, eyes still open with fear as the breath left his body. Kory swallowed hard, felt the sting of emotion. Eyes watered. Chest risen in pace. Her mouth switched as her eyes then rose to the spider that loomed over the boy's body. Felt the shear fire burning inside her body. With one swish motion she swung her body. Her sword and ran it firm with content into the spider's head that she had pinned. Crushing as the blood came, pushing the anger as the beast then died. Felt the spider that had taken the body behind her. Approaching. Kory nodded. She wouldn't be taken down nor would anyone else.
As her anger and her courage wrapped up into one. Kory pushed herself up and turned to face the spider head on. With a strike. Kory then rose her leg to aim a forceful kick to the spider, but it failed. It landed but its weight pushed Kory more than she did any damage. Forcing the swords from her palms to the foot of the beast and Kory pushed away across and slide across the floor. A little battered, bruised, but not broken. As Kory slide she motioned for a dagger from her the strap of her thigh. As she rose it flew through the air, cutting a fine cut along the spider's throat, before the dagger flew around to land back into her hand. As it allowed the spider to stumble backwards, it gave Kory time. As she spirit, the spider aimed to crush her, but she then slid herself under in between its legs. Catching both of her swords along the way. Before rolling back upon her feet as her eyes looked from behind. Didn't waste time as used a near rock, planting a foot to help levitate her land upon the spider's back. Her legs buried within it's body, felt it trying to shake her off. Finding the balance in swift timing. Before Kory dug both swords in the back of it's head. Causing the spider to sway as it died. Trying to crash. Kory quickly pulled out her swords and rolled off just in time. Landing on her feet.
Her eyes turning around at the other spiders. There was just so many. Though Kory had let out most of the fire on that spider, she still had plenty more heat to burn. Though concerned she looked for the kids. Then the knight spoke. Looking around, it was now. No time should be wasted. Kory nodded and agreed. Sliding one of her swords so to have one hand to help guide the kids. As motioned to help clear a path and encourage the kids towards the light. Kory's hand couldn't help brush the head of the kid he was carrying out. Feeling the tinge of her heart. As her lips quivered and her eyes saddened, before a glance to the knight. Her eyes then looked to where the wounded girl was resting as he asked if this was all. Shaking her head.
"Almost... "
Kory spoke softly as she motioned to where the girl was behind the rock. Battered and hanging on to life. Kory's hand ran over her forehead gently. As she kneeled to one knee. Then slid her other sword back in place. As Kory scooped up the girl in her arms. Concerned that she was barely breathing, but she was sure she felt a pulse. Half cradled in her arms. Kory then moved back to the group and began the descend out of the cave. With spiders on their toes. Kory made sure to try and keep the kids insight. As the light grew and grew. Less likely the spiders would come with, but Kory was sure there always the chance.

He watched as the woman ran over to grab another young girl. She was attacked as well and this only worried Lancelot more because it made it harder to protect the children seeing as their hands were full. Yes Lance still had his sword in hand but with the weight things got a little more difficult for him. He would not stop though. He gripped the child even more as soon as everyone was ready Lance nodded and began to move quickly for the opening of the cave. The spiders moved quickly attacking in every direction. As Lancelot's chest rose and fell quickly he began to sweat his body was getting tired. Swinging the sword with all his might though his swordsmanship was not as good nor as powerful as it could have been if he had both hands and less weight. But as long as the spiders fell and they were safe than that was all that mattered.
Lancelot pulled his hand back and before he could swing a large black spider got his arm. Lance let out a small noise as he gripped his sword not wanting to drop his only means of protection he swung in all directions cutting off it's two front legs making it loose balance and fall under it's own weight. Moving faster now as his arm dripped crimson red blood but he paid no mind to it "We must hurry, they are gaining speed!" He meant it to, the spiders were hungry and they were threatened not to mention their food was running away it was a dangerous environment, he just hoped everyone would be able to get out ok.. Well mostly everyone, the one boy he was caring Lance felt all possibly life fade away and it broke his heart but he would not put him down. The kid at least deserved an honorable burial for being so strong. The rest of them would make it out and the girl who was also bitten would get help in time, Lance would make sure of it! Speed was gaining by the second. With the effort Kory could manage when carrying the young girl in her tightly bound grasp. Held close to her chest. This was dangerous to say the least, but Kory was sure if the need arose she could manage to reach a sword. Even a dagger if nothing else. There was little time for bad thoughts. Hope was needed. To guide them towards the light and hopefully to safety. Felt as if the cave was never ending. Surely it hadn't taken this long to get in. Then there wasn't spider legs at her heels. Felt the cool creepy vibe enough to give goosebumps, as Kory's skin began to sweat a little more. Her blood pumped. Felt of fire. As she helped encourage the kids to get out, trying to keep them close and together as possible. Her green eyes flashed around in the dark and shade. Finding Lancelot close. Also carrying a body and Kory hoped there wouldn't be anymore. That there be a chance for all. Heard the sound Lancelot then made. Kory half stopped in her tracks as Lancelot was struck and feared for his well being, but Lancelot quickly turned his misfortunes into something quite brilliant. Kory had to admire. As her eyes went to his arm. The blood that dripped from it, but he soldiered on like a hero. Her eyes sort the concern for his health, yet also strength that she was sure they could still get through this... They must.
"No looking back. Keep the children safe and thank X'hal when we make it out of here... Alive."
Kory expressed to Lancelot deeply as she motioned forward. As her eyes met his own, feeling the hero that ran alongside her and the strength between their muscles. With the same notion as one. There was no looking back. Nor was there any holding back. As Kory paused shortly as she looked between those they carried and Lancelot's arm as she spoke of alive. There was always hope. Kory smiled. Her red hair flung as she ran. Felt her muscles stretch underneath the leather she wore. Just as hope seemed endless. Came the looming shadow from up ahead. It dropped from almost nothing from the ceiling and landing in their path. It came so swiftly there was little time for reaction, save the shear fear of the kids before Kory. She aided the girl she carried into some bigger kids arms for now. As Kory motioned a head. As the spider pushed on the kids, finding it matched their speed so they were frightened to move. As it's legs starting come at the kids. Kory was already there with her two swords. Slashed a leg. It caused the spider to wobble just a bit, but didn't cease it. As Kory felt the shadows some paces behind coming. They needed to deal with this swift and quick. As spider came back with more eager moves. Kory moved it back with her swords. A leg swiped to knock her over and she jumped, before cutting off another leg. The spider backed of a little. Kory finding there was left an opening as long as she distracted the spider. A chance! As her eyes motioned to see the light outside.
"GO. NOW... I can hold it enough for an escape."
Kory said deeply to the kids. To the knight. She was sure she could distract it enough, maybe kill it, but at least give them all a chance. Finding her eyes searched a little, but she needed to remain on her target. Any wrong step and she could fail. Fail just wasn't an option.
