.:Name of Character:. Elsa de la Noue .:Nick Name:. Elsie, Els .:Age:. 19 .:Race:. Camelotian .:Status:. Servant
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. Elsa is very tall for a woman, which she doesn't like very much. Her hair is long and very curly; it has more volume than is probably necessary and tends to frame her face in a manner similar to a lion's mane. It's easy to spot her in a crowd because of her height and hair. She also is tanner than nobility would be because of having to work for a living. Despite having long legs and being rather attractive, Elsa is not very popular among the men of Camelot due mainly to her height. Women who are as tall as the men are not very well-appreciated. She usually wears homemade dresses of muted, quiet colors so as not to attract attention. She also often uses a scarf to hold her hair back while she works. .:Height:. 5' 9" .:Portrayed by:. Tamsin Egerton
| ~ • ~ | Personality | ~ • ~ |
.:Personality:. Elsa was always taller than average, which probably was what caused her low self-esteem. She is a bit shy, but not afraid; she's more embarrassed than anything else. She is worried that due to her height, she won't marry or have children, and she does not want that to look forward to in her life. However, there isn't much she's able to do with her current status and looks, so she does her best with what she has.
She is very friendly and accepting and always sees the good in people. She has been hurt many times because of this trusting nature of hers, but she has never grown cold or bitter. She may be shy and quiet, but she is always willing to talk and help people out if she is able. This especially includes children, as she would do anything to help kids, even if it was at her own expense.
Of course, Elsa is a very talented singer. Her voice is not traditionally beautiful, as it's lower than most females', but it is still enchanting to listen to. She can often be found humming or singing quietly to herself when out alone, but when in the company of those she trusts Elsa is much louder with her singing. Along with this, she tends to dance with her voice. However, she usually only dances when she is alone or with her family; she isn't as confident in her dancing as she is in her singing. .:Strengths:. ~singing: Elsa has a wonderful singing voice, but she doesn't often sing in front of people. She can be a bit shy and intimidated.
~friendly: she is always willing to make friends and learn more about people, no matter who they might be.
~easily accepting: she tends to believe that everyone has good in them somewhere, despite their outward appearance.
~quiet: in Camelot in these times, being quieter and keeping to yourself and your own life seems to be more of a strength than anything else. .:Weaknesses:. ~trusting: Elsa tends to be much too trusting. She gives everyone the benefit of the doubt, despite the evidence against them, and this tends to lead to her getting burned.
~height: she is much taller than most women and this can be a bit embarrassing. She's even taller than some men! It doesn't work very well when she wants to settle down soon.
~children: Elsa is instantly drawn to kids. She adores them and would do anything for them. .:Magic Abilities:. none whatsoever .:Special Skills:. ~beautiful singing voice: her voice is throaty and lower than average, but entrancing.
~good dancer: she isn't the best, but she's certainly more talented than some.
~efficient worker: she can get the job done in a decent amount of time. .:Accents:. lower class English, but her voice is low and throaty compared to most women
| ~ • ~ | History | ~ • ~ |
.:Birthplace:. Camelot .:Family:. ~father: Ambroise de la Noue ~mother: Beatrice de la Noue ~younger brother: Kendrick de la Noue .:Occupation:. future servant in the castle .:Current Location of Residence:. Camelot .:History:. Elsa de la Noue was born to Ambroise and Beatrice just after the start of the Great Purge. It was a terrifying time, but the couple managed to be happy about the successful birth and raised Elsa to be as loved as possible. Ambroise was a baker; he specialized in varied kinds of breads and his food was well-liked. Beatrice helped her husband in his trade and as such, Elsa grew up surrounded by wheat, flour, and the smell of freshly-baked bread.
It was obvious from an early age that Elsa would be a talented singer. As a little girl, she loved to sing around the bakery, usually just nonsense tunes and words. As she grew older, however, she began to make up her own songs and her parents noticed that they were actually very good. By the time Elsa was nine, she was making her own songs and ballads that told actual stories and spoke of real emotions and experiences.
When Elsa was three, her younger brother Kendrick was born. He was small and sickly, so Beatrice spent much of her time taking care of him. In order to continue to earn money, Elsa helped her father in the bakery, taking her mother's place. Luckily, Kendrick grew healthier with time, but he was still frail. He was unable to help much in the bakery until he was almost twelve, and even then he wasn't able to do much. He spent most of his time in the back, reading the few books he was able to gain access to and occasionally kneading dough. Elsa continued to work with her parents, making and selling bread, until her brother was able to take over her job.
Once Kendrick was strong enough to take her place in the bakery, Elsa decided that it was time to get herself a job outside of the family business. She had heard that the castle was looking for more servants and so she told her parents her plans. While they were sad she didn't want to continue baking, they accepted her decision and were glad that she hadn't chosen to find work outside of Camelot. At least this way she would still be at home most days.
