.:Personality:. Morgause is incredibly manipulative, taking great pride and pleasure in her ability to twist people into doing her will. She is an expert at portraying whatever emotions others expect, or need to see, and can appear soft and gentle when the situation calls for it, or cold and merciless. For the most part, the latter is closest to being the truth, as she has had deep hatred instilled into her since shortly after her birth, but there are a select few who she does genuinely care about; her half-sister Morgana being among them. As important as extracting her revenge upon Uther was to her, protecting her sister came first, and she showed genuine fear and worry upon realising that she had been poisoned. .:Strengths:. .:Weaknesses:. .:Magic Abilities:. Like her sister and mother, Morgause has magic flowing through the very core of her being. She knows a vast array of spells, and has been trained in the ways of the Old Religion from birth, by the Priestesses. .:Special Skills:. She's a skilled swordstress, and a master of manipulation. .:Accents:. A light mix of British and Irish

.:Birthplace:. Camelot .:Family:. Gorlois and Vivienne were her parents, and Morgana Le Faye is her half-sister. .:Occupation:. High Priestess of the Old Religion .:Current Location of Residence:. She has a tendency to wander, never staying in one place for too long, but never straying too far from her sister's side either. .:History:. Morgause was born just before the beginning of Uther Pendragon's Great Purge against magic, to one of Camelot's noble families: the house of Gorlois. She inherited her magic from her mother, Vivienne, as did Morgana. Of course, considering that Vivienne was the mother of Uther's illegitimate daughter, she was spared, though Morgause was not. She was marked to be killed in the purge, and her parents went to Gaius, asking him to smuggle their daughter out of the city, and deliver her to the High Priestesses of the Old Religion, which he did, swearing an oath to Gorlois and Vivienne to never reveal the fact that Morgause had lived, leading Uther to believe that she had been killed in the Purge.
The High Priestesses raised Morgause, instructing her in the ways of the Old Religion, training her in the use of her powers. With their help, the already powerful sorceress grew in strength, powers nearly rivaling the legendary Emrys...though not quite. She also trained physically, becoming an incredibly skilled swordsman. When the time came, in her mind, she rode into Camelot, in the guise of a knight, easily taking out five Knights of Camelot, before throwing down a gauntlet, challenging Prince Arthur to a duel. He accepted, and the following day was defeated in combat by Morgause, who spared his life under the condition that he accept the next challenge. Of course, he accepted once more, and when he arrived, Morgause conjured forth an image of Arthur's mother, who told him the truth about his birth, causing a rift between Arthur and Uther, which much to Morgause's chagrin, Merlin managed to mend.
Over time, Morgause put into action several plans to attempt to kill and overthrow Uther, and bring about a new age in Camelot, maintaining contact with Morgana at every opportunity, eventually revealing their true relationship to her. As time passed, Morgana's loyalty shifted farther and farther from Uther and Arthur towards Morgause, until her sister was the sole person she was loyal to, and trusted.
