One day Xenia's parents announced to little Xenia that she was going to go on a trip with her maid for some days. It was difficult for her maid to convince her parents to take with her on her trip to the Druids, but she told them that it would be very good for the little Princess to spend some time in the nature. Finally, her parents allowed her to take Xenia with her, as the old woman was a very faithful servant and served the King for a long time. Later, that night before she went to sleep, Xenia got some things ready to take with her. Not a lot, though because they will going to stay in the forest.
The next morning, the little Princess and her maid began their trip to the forest on their horses. During the ride, Marsha (Xenia's maid) told her some helpful tips on how to recognizes the symbols on the trees. Since Xenia was little girl, she didn't give much importance to these things. She was too busy watching the butterflies that were flying in front of her. The trip was very quiet and peaceful, without thieves in the forests. Though, the Little Princess made sure she didn't wear anything that would reveal that she is royalty.
As they neared their destination it was getting very dark to be able to ride anymore. So they stopped and found a place to sleep for a while. Xenia fell asleep very quickly because she was feeling very tired from the trip. The next morning, the sweet songs of the birds woke her up. Once her maid woke up and prepared some food, they ate breakfast quickly and began their trip again. They arrived at a lake, with some mountains standing tall behind of it and Marsha announced "Here we are!" And as she said that she felt pride to be back in her old home. Little Xenia couldn't believed how beautiful this place was. She didn't know that a place like this existed. She thought they only existed in fairytales. "Is there is any faeries here?" little Xenia asked, wide-eyed. Her maid laughed and answered, "Maybe," a little mysteriously before saying, "Come on now." Marsha was very proud that the little Princess was liking this place very much. "Come on, we don't want to be late. Though, they will wait for us." Marsha told Xenia, who was too occupied looking around the place, before she rode on faster.

Freya was a beautiful little brunette with dirt on her face. She was small for her age but she had a big heart. She liked to play in the forest and didn't have a care in the world. She was being taught the Druid ways just as her mother had been taught before her. She had lost her mother and father at an early age, but she had been old enough to remember them. They had been robbed and killed by bandits, while on their way back home from town. She missed them all the time. She would never forget them, ever.
Her grandmother had custody of her now. She adored her grandmother, who taught her the ways of the Druids. She enjoyed her teachings. She was very eager to learn. She was an obediant child, always doing as she was told. Her grandmother took good care of her and did a lot for her. She was about twelve years old this year and didn't ever want to grow up. She believed in faeries and knew magic was real. She knew she had magic inside her, as her grandmother had told her many times.
As a Druid, she was very powerful. She inherited magic from her mother and her father, passed down for generations. She didn't use her magic a lot because it was hard to control but she was learning something new every day and soon she would be able to control herself better. She didn't have many friends, but she loved animals. She was often alone or with her grandmother. Her grandmother had taken a nap so she had left out the back door to go play in the nearby forest. It was morning and the birds were singing. She loved the sounds of the forest and could listen to it all day.

Although her maid told her to follow her and ride faster, Xenia didn't listen to her. At times she would ride faster, but most of the time she was too busy looking around the forest. All her attention was on this beautiful place, and she couldn't think of anything else. Her maid then gave her some more instructions, "Now we will pass behind these waterfalls and once we reach the cave, we will have arrived at our destination." But Xenia didn't listen to her carefully, because she was busy watching how magical the waterfalls were.
They started to walk along the small path, that had a bit of water from the waterfall seeping along it. Xenia's horse nearly slipped from the water along the track, but lucky she didn't. Now they were behind the waterfalls and in the dark caves. She heard birds signing their songs and smelled fresh flowers in the air. As they edged closer into the cave, Xenia started to feel scared because it was so dark. Yet at the end of the cave she could see some light and they rode faster towards it until finally they were at the other side. And what a sight it was! It was so beautiful!
They walked again for another five minutes and finally arrived to the camp. She noticed a big smile on her maid's face at having arrived. They saw a small group of people waiting for them and got down from their horses to greet them. Everyone knew Marsha and looked happy to see her again. The little Princess was very friendly with them and looked around to see if they were any kids around her age.

Freya knew once it was dark that she would have to head home. She was having so much fun. She enjoyed climbing the trees and playing in the dirt. She knew her grandmother would not mind that she'd left as long as she was home in time for dinner. Freya was quite famished as she hadn't eaten much for lunch. She didn't mind being hungry as long as she was having fun. She quickly picked some flowers to give to her grandmother when she arrived home. They were wildflowers and some daisies. Daisies were her grandmother's favorite. Freya loved flowers, they were so pretty and smelt so good. Her white dress now had dirt all over it, which her grandmother would mind. She knew she should have changed before she went out. She had dirt on her face and hands as well. She had a skinned knee from climbing the trees but it didn't look very bad. She knew she should get home soon because the sun was starting to go down so she finished picking her flowers and started home. She stepped carefully going behind the waterfall, knowing her grandmother was probably waiting for her on the other side.

Little Xenia didn't find what she was looking for. Her maid took her little, soft hand into hers and they followed a tall man who showed them where they were going to stay for the next few days. It was a big tent and Xenia looked around and saw that the were other people also living in tents which intrigued her. Since princesses would never live in tents! Though Xenia loved looking for adventures, she wasn't sure if that should include living in a tent. Marsha thanked the man, before she walked inside the tent and Xenia followed her maid. Not before she complained to Marsha that the tent was too small. The old woman told her that if she wanted to have adventures then she needed to stay in the tent, otherwise they would leave. And with that, Xenia was persuaded to stay for she did not want to leave this place yet. Especially since she had only arrived. They then spend some time organizing their tent by setting up their beds and storing away their clothes.
Her maid then said to Xenia that she wanted to go and see a old friend, so grabbing her hand they left their tent. They arrived at the home where Marsha's old friend greeted them very friendly before he offered them to came inside his home. She grew bored very quickly, and asked Marsha if she could go outside to have a look at the waterfalls. Of course her maid didn't want to her go, because it was getting darker. Not only that, but the Princess didn't know the place very well and could easily get lost. After a lot of entreaties on Xenia's part, her maid agreed but told her not to pass the cave and to come back very quickly. With that, Xenia left the house, bouncing with a big smile on her face, smiling to everyone as she went pass them. Now Xenia was past the Druid's camp, she could finally hear the running water.
