.:Name of Character:. Torrin Fletch .:Nick Name:. Tor or just "Jester" .:Age:. Twenty eight .:Race:. Camelotian .:Status:. Citizen
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. Torrin is quite a tall man with bright blue eyes and hair that borders between light brown and dark blonde. As he is a performer he is well kept and takes pride in his appearance. When performing he wears brightly coloured costumes – normally made from patches of different kinds of material. When he is not performing his clothes are more sober in colour and usually only one fabric – depending on how many times they have had to have been repaired – and allow him to blend more easily into a crowd. .:Height:. 5'9 .:Portrayed by:. Shaun Evans

.:Personality:.As a court jester Torrin is expected to have an enthusiastic and comical nature – which he does. He likes to see the humour in the average and the ordinary, as well as having quite a black sense of humour too, but this is not often used in his performances. He’s been entertaining professionally since he was a child and due to this has a firm confidence in his abilities. Torrin is a sociable creature, liking to be around people and having their attention. For him, being a jester is not just an occupation – it is what he has been doing his entire like and probably the only thing he’s good at. Because most of his life is spent entertaining people he has learnt how to read them, mainly in order to predict how well a joke will go down. He has a sharp eye and is always observing what is going on – half of the time simply to amuse himself. In his opinion the dramas of the nobility are much more entertaining than he’ll ever be.
When he is on his own, or simply not working, he has a rather more sober personality. While he will still make jokes and likes to have people’s undivided attention, he is naturally quick witted and can have quite a dark sense of humour. He considers himself separated than most of society – being liked and valued in court but without a title. He likes to observe and know everything that is going on in the castle and is not above breaking a few rules in the process. Being a jester he can be called upon to say things to the king, such as deliver bad news, when others will not. This suits him just fine as he learns all that is happening this way.
He is not the most empathetic of people and can usually be relied upon to make light of a serious or dangerous situation or go too far with a joke at someone else’s expense (although he is extremely careful not to do so with the more influential people of Camelot). His jokes and showman personality have developed into a coping mechanism for him and prevent him from having to face his emotions. Emotions get in the way when he’s trying to be impressive and entertaining. .:Strengths:. Ability to read people, success as a jester makes him liked a respected at court, quick tongue and a good liar and actor .:Weaknesses:. Arrogance, snobbish due to position, can be careless when mocking people, very aware of people’s opinions of him .:Magic Abilities:. None .:Special Skills:. As a jester, Torrin has mastered many skills to entertain the masses with. This included agility and acrobatic talents, as well as acting skills and impersonations. .:Accents:. Southern English

.:Birthplace:. Camelot .:Family:. Father - Niall Fletch (deceased) Mother - Abigail Fletch (deceased) Older brother - Callum Fletch .:Occupation:. Court jester .:Current Location of Residence:. Camelot .:History:.Torrin is the youngest son of Niall and Abigail Fletch and was born and brought up in Camelot. His father was a jester in Uther’s court and so taught Torrin and his older brother Callum the tricks of the trade. Callum was never that interested in following his father’s footsteps, yet still became jealous of Torrin’s superior skill and attention from their father. Torrin excelled in all forms of tomfoolery with a particular fondness for acrobatics and impersonations. When he was ten his father decided he was old enough to entertain the great and good of the kingdom. During these public performances Torrin developed a style of his own and exploited this to become a favourite at court. His father retired when Torrin was eighteen, leaving him to perform on his own.
Two years later his parents both died in a fire in their home, Torrin was left completely alone shortly after as Callum then left Camelot and took anything of valuable that had survived the fire. Fortunately, Torrin still had his position in the castle. He has now been working on his own there for eight years.
