.:Name of Character:.Calumira (cal-oo-MEER-a) O Conner
.:Nick Name:. Lumira, Mira
.:Age:.24 (as of the beginning of Series 1)
.:Race:. Druid
.:Status:. Nomad
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. Calumira stands at an average height for a young woman at five and a half feet tall. She has a slender figure that is often deceiving when someone tries to tell how strong she is, but even with strength she still lacks fighting skill. Her pale oval face is accented with her deep rose pink lips and golden brown eyes, as well as framed by her dark chocolate brown hair. Her strong jawline seems to portray a slight sign of her inner strength to those that look carefully. She often wears cloths of tans and browns due to her moving around so much as a nomad and not wanting to draw too much attention to herself by wearing other colors. She also often wears a medium brown cape to conceal her identity.
.:Height:. 5’6”
.:Portrayed by:. Kristin Kreuk

.:Personality:.
~Kind – She is gentle and caring to everyone she feels is a good person and tries her best to be the same with people she even thinks aren’t such good people, in hopes that showing them such care may help to change them.
~Trustworthy – She is used to keeping secrets and is worthy of being trusted, which she often finds herself proving to others when she can and when she feels that they need someone they can trust.
~Quiet – She often remains silent and keeps to herself much of the time. Though many would think that she was shy, in truth she just keeps herself quiet and in order to learn all she can about those around her, she observes them with all of their behaviors and tendencies.
~Distrustful – She doesn’t trust others easily, as there have been very few in her past that she was able to trust. Seeing as she did not grow up like most children, she finds it hard to trust others, even just a little bit, but she does often try her best to do so when someone shows themselves to be worthy of her trust.
~Loyal – Once she truly befriends someone, she becomes very loyal and will be at their side if they ever need her to be. For those that win her loyalty, she is willing to put herself at great risk for them and will do anything she can in order to help them.
.:Strengths:.
~Healing – This is an area that she has constantly drilled herself to learn what she can. After being faced with great loss due to the fact that she couldn’t help the people she cared most about, she swore she would strive to always be able to heal someone, if there was any way that she could.
~Crossbow – At the age of five her father started teaching her how to use a crossbow with a smaller version he specially built for her. Seeing as she was mainly caring for herself and her brother while her father worked, he wanted her to learn how to hunt small game at the edges of the village. She became gifted at handling the weapon and perfected her technique of its use when she was older. She often keeps one on her back in case she needs it for either hunting or self-defense.
~Riding – She’s been riding horses all of her life and absolutely loves the animals. She tends to think of them as witty pets instead of the common thought of them being just a big, dumb beast to be commanded. She has found when she has built a relationship with a horse, that they become a friend to her and that connection seems to stay strong when she is riding them. It almost seems to allow her to understand and interpret the movements of the horse and as a result, ride better than she does on a newer horse she hasn’t connected with yet.
~Navigation – Sense she has gotten older, she has become a nomad and has found that understanding and learning navigation is vital. Thus she has spent a lot of time learning to navigate in all kinds of terrain and perfecting her abilities.
.:Weaknesses:.
~Combat – Though she has tried to learn a bit about hand-to-hand combat, including wielding a sword, it seems to be a skill that she just cannot grasp. Once someone gets ahold of her, unless she is able to use her magic without being discovered, than she is left at their mercy.
~Tracking – Granted, if somehow she comes across prey, she can take it down with her crossbow easily. However, tracking an animal is difficult for her and she often finds herself losing the trail only to end up looping back around to try to pick it up again, and wasting her time as the prey gets away.
~Children – She would nearly do anything for a child, including lay down her own life if need be. Children hold a special place in her heart and she feels a duty to protect and care for them if she possibly can at all and in anyway that she is capable.
.:Magic Abilities:. Some smaller spells and incantations: one to start a fire, one to move an object out of her way (up to the size of a person), & a few more in-depth versions for healing.
.:Special Skills:. She’s deadly with a crossbow, as her father began teaching her how to wield the weapon beginning with a smaller version when she was only five years old in order to make sure she would be able to at least hunt small game if she needed to. From there she continued to practice her use every chance she got and has sense perfected her abilities.
She is also very gifted in healing, mostly magically but also a bit in non-magical potions, drafts and remedies. Much of what she first learned in non-magical healing was taught to her by her father from a very young age and she learned the magical aspects of healing later on in her life.

.:Birthplace:. Kingdom of Osraige (Ossory), Iwerni (Ireland)
.:Family:. Mother: Cordelia – Sorceress, Healer, Deceased Father: Devlyn O Conner – Physician, Deceased Brother: Galen – Calumira’s Heart, Deceased
.:Occupation:. Healer
.:Current Location of Residence:. Here and there… Her nomadic life moves her around all over the place as she feels necessary. (As of beginning of Series 1 she has settled in Stonedown.)
.:History:.
~Birth:
Born to a healing family in the Kingdom of Osraige of land of Iwerni, Calumira was a child born to restless parents and when she was only just six months old, they set out to travel to Albion and quietly land in the southern part of the country before setting out to explore it. Being in the kingdom of Camelot, her family traveled freely with her father working as a traveling physician and her mother using her magical gifts to assist him in his work of healing others. This continued until she was about two and a half years old and her mother became pregnant with her brother. Thus her family settled into the village of Stonedown, on the western boarder of the kingdom of Camelot, to await their new arrival.
~Childhood:
At a time when a family should have been at it’s happiest with expecting their new arrival, Calumira’s family was filled with fear. The same night as the joyous birth of Prince Arthur, the Queen died and nearly overnight King Uther turned on all those that used magic without any explanation. For the first eight months of what became known as “The Great Purge”, her mother, Cordelia was able to remain undetected and thus wasn’t suspected in that time. However, during the birth of little Galen, which turned out to be a difficult one, her mother used magic to help the little boy through the process and ease her own pain. This was witnessed by one of the local village’s women and two days later she reported Calumira’s mother to the King. The next day after hearing the report, King Uther had Cordelia taken from her home and burned at the stake. Calumira held Galen and buried her face in her father’s chest as they sat inside the house and listened to her mother’s screams piercing through the walls from outside. In that moment, Calumira began to change and grow up much faster than any child should ever be asked to. That moment would forever be burned into her mind and leave a longing for answers in her heart.
For the next two years Galen would fall to Calumira to care for while their father would continue his work as a physician to provide for them financially. She learned to not only care for her baby brother but also to care for the household, cook, clean, and even at the age of five begin learning how to hunt small game at the edges of the village to have meat for dinners. She also began to learn how to ride a horse at this time and by the time she was six, she was quite the aim with a crossbow, as her father had built her one that was more her size, and quite the adequate and graceful little rider. She always looked forward to the times when their father would take her and her brother with him in order to gather herbs and such out in the forest. She would ride her own horse, while her brother would ride safely in front of their father on another horse. It was a day just like this that once again Calumira’s life would forever be changed.
It seemed a calm day as she rode her horse next to her father and brother down the path toward the creek. She didn’t think much of it when the horses started wanting to pick up the pace, figuring that they were just thirsty and wanted to get to the water more quickly. However, it wasn’t until the bandits made their move that any of her family had an idea that something else was wrong. All she heard was a thud and her father cry out in pain. As she turned to look for him, all she saw was her father falling from the horse and her brother falling right along with him. As Galen screamed, suddenly she was filled with panic and she quickly dropped from her horse. She tried to run to her brother but was grabbed by someone behind her. She saw another man so up to her brother and father, kicking her father in the head to knock him out and then grabbing up her brother in his arms.
By that night the two siblings were confined to a tent but it wasn’t their capture that had her worried. Galen hadn’t woken up sense his fall from the horse and his head refused to stop bleeding. Once one of the men had tried to take her brother from her but she had quickly threatened him and held her brother tightly. Another man told the first to leave the children be, it didn’t matter where the boy died and if the boy staying in the tent kept the girl content than there was no point in moving him. The bandits traveled with her and Galen in their custody for three days, putting the two into a cart behind a horse, but then Galen died. At four years old she had lost her mother and now at six years old she lost her loving father and two year old brother. Knowing that her mother had used magic, and that it had gotten her mother killed, she swore that if she had a chance to learn healing magic that she would take it and do everything in her power to make sure a child, like Galen, didn’t die in her arms ever again. The man that had requested her brother be left in her care previously also helped her when she asked to bury her brother, and he even made sure she knew exactly where the little boys grave was in case she ever wished to find it again. The next day she would be sold as a young slave to a powerful and wealthy nobleman in kingdom east of Camelot, later ruled by Cenred, the man was known as Lord Urien.
~Teen years:
From the time she was six years old in the house of Lord Urien she was cared for by the many female servants and slaves that he consistently kept around. However, when she grew a bit older and began to show she would grow into a beautiful young woman, she began to be treated a bit differently. Instead of having to help with all of the harder chores all of the time, she was given much lighter tasks so that her hands to not become affected by her work. This started when she was about thirteen years old and only progressed as she grew older each year. At fourteen she was only asked to cook and accompany Lord Urien to special events, seeing he had no wife to take with him. He would often present her as a poor orphan that he had seen all on her own at such a young age and he just couldn’t help taking her in to give her a home. During these events she would be given beautiful dresses and jewelry to wear, of which her favorite was a red and gold gown that she had begun to treasure. However, when she was fifteen she was told that she was no longer required to do everyday chores and that her only concern would now be making sure that Lord Urien was kept happy. This would be the last straw for her, knowing that this man had no true concern for her, so even though she was required to stay in his chambers with him every night, she constantly was working on a plan to get herself far away from him as soon as she could. It took her a whole year to become completely prepared for the dangers her task would entail but finally when she was sixteen she made her escape from ten year prison and she ran west, back toward Camelot and the only home she had known before her enslavement.
For the next six months she wandered the lands alone and on guard at all times, worrying that Lord Urien would somehow find her and take her back. Out of fear she kept herself off the main trails as much as she possibly could to stay hidden in the forests, valleys and mountains, only stopping in villages once in a while for supplies. She had been staying in a small cave through a rain storm when the druids found her and they were gracious enough to take her in. She would forever be thankful for the safety they would provide her and all that they would teach her in the time she would spend with them.
~Adulthood: For the next few years she rested in the safety and guidance of the Druids and their camp. They took her in as one of their own and taught her survival skills, herbs and their uses, but her favorite was the magic she learned. Though they taught her many different types of magic that would be useful bits here and there, her real gift was in healing magic much like her Druid mother. Her mother was someone she wished to be just like, granted she would not be able to openly use her magic in a kingdom where it was outlawed, but she did hold hope that one day that may change.
After five years with the most peaceful and caring people she had ever met in her life, she bid them farewell feeling that her destiny lie somewhere that her talents would be of use to others in more need. Thus began her life as a nomad moving around from village to village as she felt that destiny called her. After two years of her travels she has found herself settled into a village west of Camelot in the Darkling Woods, for now at least, until destiny calls her once again.
