.:Name of Character:. Sir Iwan d'Auber .:Nick Name:. Iwan .:Age:. Twenty five .:Race:. Camelotian .:Status:. Nobility
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. Iwan is a tall, floppy haired young man with pale skin and hazel eyes, and more often than not has a look of superiority about him. He has a slim build and although he’s not terribly muscular, his right arm is more so than his left due to his archery. He takes pride in his appearance, so although his hair is annoying and gets in his eyes, he thinks it looks too good to cut. .:Height:. 5'10 .:Portrayed by:. Damien Molony
| ~ • ~ | Personality | ~ • ~ |
.:Personality:. Iwan displays all the qualities expected in a knight: he’s loyal to the crown, brave, chivalrous and capable of showing mercy, although he usually has to be reminded. It’s not in his nature to forgive and he is no stranger to a grudge, but, being a knight of Camelot, he usually has to repress this side of himself. He comes across as the perfect knight and strives to keep this appearance. His status is the most important thing to him and a source of great pride, so he is eager for the world to perceive him as chivalrous and courageous.
Iwan can also be arrogant, elitist and quick to anger, again though this side of his personality is often repressed. Alcohol is normally a good way to bring it out – he has a very low tolerance and usually tries to avoid it, which isn’t the easiest of tasks around the other knights. He is very much a team player, and although he might not agree with non-nobility being knighted, he wouldn’t let his opinions but anyone in danger. He is, after all, first and foremost, a Knight of Camelot and protecting the kingdom (as well as proving himself) comes before his prejudices.
Iwan can be quite insensitive at times and often doesn’t acknowledge other people’s emotions, especially when they are in danger. In such situations his main priority is that person’s physical safety, rather than their emotional wellbeing. He tends to focus on the bigger picture, rather than the details and feelings of those involved, perhaps coming off as cold and insensitive. .:Strengths:. :. Like all knights, Iwan is brave, loyal and chivalrous and puts the safety of others before himself. Although his pride puts him in dangerous situations, he has a quick mind and can get himself out of trouble. .:Weaknesses:. Iwan is both elitist and proud, considering nobility and royalty to be superior to other social classes, and could be seen as condescending to those without titles. He doesn’t think non-nobility should be allowed to become knights, although he would never say this, especially not to the knights and definitely not to Arthur. His strong desire to prove himself has often led to feelings of inferiority - his whole life Iwan has been desperate for his father to be proud of him, it was this desire that made him want to become a knight in the first place, and also one which often gets himself into trouble as he would rather put himself in danger than look like a coward. He has set high expectations for himself, but more often than not does not achieve them. .:Magic Abilities:. None .:Special Skills:. Archery and sword fighting – like all knights he has been trained in single hand combat and sword fighting, although his main skill is archery, something which he was taught as a small child and continues to take great pride in.
Stealth – as a child he used to sneak into the castle to see the knights in training, and so has learnt how to break into places and remain unseen. This comes in handy when he’s trying to find suitable places to use his bow. .:Accents:. Southern English

.:Birthplace:. Camelot .:Family:. Parents: Sir Ector (deceased) and Lady Eloise (deceased) & three siblings: older brother: Kay younger brother: Ciaran younger sister: Rowan .:Occupation:. Knight of Camelot .:Current Location of Residence:. Iwan was born into a wealthy and somewhat influential family in Camelot; he is the second son of Lord Ector and Lady Eloise. Throughout his childhood he’s felt inferior to his older brother Kay, who has always been favoured for being Ector’s heir, and neglected due to the amount of attention his sister (as the only girl) and his brother Ciaran (the youngest) received. Consequently, for much of his youth Iwan was left to his own devices.
Since he was a young child he has wanted to become a knight and prove his worth to his father. He was always fascinated with them as he grew up and always begged his father to be allowed to attend the feasts in the castle so he could see them. Ector, seeing this as some to occupy the boy agreed to let him start training so when he was old enough he would be able to follow his dreams. Iwan used to spend the majority of him time away from the family home – often sneaking about in the castle in an attempt to see more of the knights.
His relationship with his father has always been strained at best, but he is very close to his siblings, especially after both his parents died. After taking over the estate, Kay offered to make Iwan his heir – as he is still unmarried and without any children – but Iwan declined as the estate would never be his priority. Unfortunately, his father died before Iwan was knighted something he has never quite moved on from.
