.:Name of Character:. Griflet .:Nick Name:. Grif .:Age:. Eighteen .:Race:. Glouchedonian .:Status:. Nobility
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. Grif has a rather lanky figure and resembles his brother in appearance with his pale skin and dark brown hair but takes after his mother with his high cheekbones and pale green eyes. Being fully aware of his good looks, he is more than happy about using them to get what he wants and he’s yet to come across a woman who hasn’t been completely under his influence after a smile. .:Height:. 6' .:Portrayed by:. Harry Lloyd
| ~ • ~ | Personality | ~ • ~ |
.:Personality:. Grif comes across as confident, almost arrogant and definitely a charmer. This could, however, be a defence mechanism due to his inferiority complex that started in his childhood because of his father’s favouritism towards his elder brother Lucan.
He has an outgoing nature and his always more than up for a challenge, regardless of how much trouble he could get into because he could always use his father’s money and pay his way out of it. Selfish and brazen, he gives little care to the thoughts and feelings of others so long as he is enjoying himself.
He is quick to portray himself as a happy-go-lucky man without a care in the world in order to hide his ongoing feelings of inferiority and self-loathing. From a young age he quickly realised he would never live up to his father’s expectations and so, instead of trying harder takes pleasure in causing as much embarrassment as possible. .:Strengths:. His father taught him swordplay and archery from a young age. Though he prefers swordplay he’d much rather not be in fight in the first place and relies on his tongue or purse rather than his fist to get himself out of trouble. As well as this he can use charm and flattery to get his own way and has had more than his fair share of luck with members of the opposite sex. .:Weaknesses:. Grif is quick to jump into situations without considering the consequences and expecting that whatever happens he’ll come out well. He doesn’t realise that without his father’s money and title he wouldn’t be so well off.
Selfish in character he doesn’t often show any care for others, especially when he wants something from someone. His friends are few and his enemies ever growing.
Yet beyond his overzealous nature and apparent complacency he is at heart the same child who realised his father would always prefer his older brother. Since a child he suffered from an inferiority complex, something that only worsened when Lucan left and their father tried to overcompensate for this using Grif. .:Magic Abilities:. None. He has no particularly strong feelings towards magic so long as it doesn't prevent him from having a good time. .:Special Skills:. Grif is quite handy with a sword although he prefers to use words and a wink to save his skin. He is also an accomplished liar and uses charm and manipulation to get his own way. .:Accents:. Southern English
| ~ • ~ | History | ~ • ~ |
.:Birthplace:. Glouchedon .:Family:. Father: Duke Corneous of Glouchedon Mother: Elaine Half brother (paternally): Lucan .:Occupation:. None .:Current Location of Residence:. Camelot .:History:.Griflet was born to Corneus, Duke of Glouchedon and his second wife Elaine. Corneus already had a son, Lucan, from his first wife who is eight years his senior. Unlike his older brother Grif was not expected to become a great knight and fight for the kingdom. Throughout his childhood he always felt inferior to Lucan because of his relationship with their father. However, once Lucan left (when Grif was ten) his father’s attentions turned to his youngest son and began to raise him befitting a man of his status, but Grif had quickly realised that he was never going to live up to his father’s expectations. He quickly became far too preoccupied with being anything but a true gentleman especially towards the fairer sex.
Spending his teenage years practically as an only child, Grif was more than capable of embracing his role as the son of a duke and certainly used his status to his own advantage. He enjoyed a rather exuberant lifestyle, much to the chagrin of his parents.
With an eight year age gap, Lucan and Grif were never the closest of siblings, especially as Lucan left. He is, however, determined to rectify this especially after his latest ‘disgrace’ following which he was almost disowned by his father. Instead of suffering a frankly unbearable existence directly under the thumb of his overbearing father he decided to find his brother and so travelled to Camelot.
