Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Am I allowed to be in more than one thread at one time?
A: The answer to this is YES. You are permitted to have your character in more than one thread at one time. There is no limit to the number of threads you can be in. Just make sure that you are able to keep track of all of them. A suggestion would be Bookmarking them to help you keep track of them all.
Q: Is there a specific time line on the board?
A: The answer is NO, there is not a specific timeline on the board. It can take place anytime before, during, or after any episode in the series.
Q: How often do I have to post?
A: You must post for each canons at least seven times a week. The requirement for made up characters is a bit more lenient. This is so that we can keep the board as active as possible and so that other people do not have to wait on you if you have threads with them. If you are going away on vacation somewhere, or will not have access to the computer for a certain amount of time, please let us know in the Absences board so that your threads do not get archived and your characters will not be given away.
Q: Is there a limit to the amount of made up characters I can play?
A: The answer to this is NO; there is no limit to the amount of made up characters you can play. However, it is recommended not to have more than you can handle because it can be hard to keep track of all of them. Again, there is no rule indicating a limit, but it can be very time consuming and a difficult commitment to maintain if you have too many characters.
Q: Do I need staff approval for my bio before I start posting?
A: The answer to this is YES. For characters from the series as well as any made up characters, you must wait for the admin to approve your bio. If you are asked to make a few modifications to your bio, do not feel discouraged. You may still be able to play that character, but you must make the changes you are asked to. You will most likely receive a PM from a staff member, outlining the changes that must be made. Please do not post before you hear from an admin. If your bio is approved, you will know it is approved.
Q: How do I get started role playing once my bio is posted?
A: Once your bio is posted and approved, then you are free to start posting. Feel free to post in any of the role play sections. There are a few role play categories (boards under: Camelot, Albion, & Other Locations). Do NOT role play anywhere outside of those boards under these three categories and DO NOT post anything in there other than role play threads. You do not need an admin's permission to start a thread, but if you want a specific person in there, then you MUST let that person know BEFORE you post the thread. If you want it to be open to anyone, then in your post, include [open to anyone] so that other members know it is not restricted to a single person or a specific group of people. If the thread is tagged to one specific person, no one else is allowed to post in that thread unless they have permission from one of the members in it.
Q: Am I allowed to be canon characters that are not listed in the Cast List?
A: The answer to this question is YES. You are permitted to be characters from the series, no matter how minor their role, that are not listed there, but you must post a bio for them. You are allowed to make up details about them. There are SEVERAL characters and its impossible to incorporate them all into one big list, so if there is one from any particular scene that you would like to be then you are more than welcome to. As well, keep in mind that this is based on the BBC show Merlin. Be sure to check with the member who role plays a character if you want yours to be related to them. If that character is open, then we ask you do not create any relationships between them, unless it is indicated in the series.[/blockquote]
