Tag: e Note: Better layout coming soon! And I also couldn't resist the pun in the title! for the love OF CAMELOT Things had certainly gone in the direction of best case scenario. And well, there were times that it almost seemed like it wouldn't. Getting caught for instance. But alas, everything had worked out for the best. Better even. For apart from a hurt ankle, no one was hurt. Everyone had come out alive, safe and returned to the city of Camelot. Furthermore, Elyan would be staying and truth be told, Arthur was glad for that . . . for Guinevère's sake as well. There was nothing like family, and to see her being reunited with her own, certainly warmed his heart. It also made Arthur wish to get to know the man, not even having heard much about him. All he knew was that he followed his heart, and that he was a damn good swordsman.
When they had returned, Arthur made certain that the proper resources -- and coin -- were put into getting the forge up and running, for it was expressed that Elyan would be taking it over. So in the bit of time he had, dressed in casual attire, the prince made his way to the city to see how everything was progressing. He walked towards the forge, a smile on his lips as he saw Elyan getting things set up. "Elyan," he greeted, glancing around at the place. "It's really coming together," he commended. After years of it not being active . . . it now had a new energy.

Returning to Camelot after several years of self-imposed exile had certainly been an adjustment. Elyan had never been sure about whether he should return and, if he should, then when; and so he was grateful for the sign that had come to him in the form of his sister and the prince. Upon his return, Elyan was glad to find the forge was in good shape, and he was not upset by the idea of blacksmithing for a living the way he had been when he left home.
Elyan was trying to stoke a fire when Arthur arrived. At the sound of Arthur's voice, Elyan stopped what he was doing and spun around on his heel. "Your Majesty," he said, an uncertain yet welcoming smile on his face. "I'd be remiss if I didn't say the progress I've made here is due to your support. Thank you." He tugged the rag from behind his neck and attempted to wipe the soot from his hands, attempting to conform to some sense of respectability in terms of appearance. Suddenly, a thought came to him, and it was out before he could think twice about it. "Have you seen Gwen? I'm thinking of putting her to work." His mischievous grin meant the last remark was said in jest.

Tag: e Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Arthur gave a nod to him, a smile remaining on his lips when Elyan thanked him for the support. "No thanks is required," he assured him. "If there is anything you ever need, all you have to do is ask." Arthur wanted to help Elyan settle her, if not only to ensure Guinevère was not alone. Besides, ever since what she had once said to him, Arthur felt partly responsible for their father's death. Nothing he could do would ever make up for it, but offering what aid he could and what was within his power, was at least a start.
He then chuckled at Elyan's question, stating that he was looking for Gwen to put her hard at work. The man had a good sense of humour, that was for certain. "I don't doubt she would be able to handle it too," Arthur said in praise of her. "She is certainly one of the most hard working people I know," he added. He admired Guinevère for that -- and for so many other reasons. Truth was, he wasn't certain what Elyan knew -- or assumed -- of his relationship with Guinevère. And he was well aware that it may require a conversation at some point. "Though that seems to run in the family," he added on, now words of compliment towards Elyan, seeing how far he'd come along with the forge . . . not to mention his skill in battle. Besides, Tom as well was rather hard working.
