Guinevère was walking out on the high wall of the castle, looking down over the road in and out of the city, and castle. It seemed she spend more and more time up here. She always got her work done, of course, but she seemed to be drawn here. Looking for something . . . or someone.
Arthur.
Was he safe? Had he found Morgana yet, or was he still pushing himself to exhaustion while trying not to feel like a failure. She seemed to be more worried for him then Morgana at times. She worried for both greatly, but could not help--
Gwen paused when she saw the kind standing along the wall as well. She almost turned around and walked away so she might leave him with his solitude. But he was Arthur's father.
Gwen walked slowly closer, and once she was a few feet away dropped in to a deep (perhaps deeper then necessary) bow. "Sire, can I get you anything?" She offered, trying to see if there is anything he might need.

The King looked down at his city, Morgana was still missing and Arthur was out looking for her. Uther needed some time away from the knights and other people that nag him about this and that. Just really small things really that probably didnât need him but people just seem to find him out of the blue, there wasnât a moment peace when you were king and Arthur needed to realize this for he was his heir and future king of Camelot. Arthur would take him place on the throne but not for a while the young prince still has a lot to do before Arthur Pendragon becomes king of Camelot.
Looking around he could hear footsteps approaching, sighing as someone had found him to annoy him Uther turned around to see Guinevère walking up to him and bowing to him. Guinevère was Morganaâs servant and the blacksmithâs daughter. Uther had sentenced Guinevèreâs father to death when Tom was found using a magical device. Uther shook his head in a reply, he didnât need anything except to know if Morgana and Arthur was alright but he didnât expect Guinevère to know this. âNo I donât need anything at the moment.â Uther replied back as he returned to look at the city.

Walk away, Gwen. Walk away. She told her self in her mind, and even turned to leave but she could not. He seemed to worried, and while she did not hold much kindness to him in her heart she did not wish him ill. And there were times when she could not help but to think kindly to him, like when she got a small glances of him not as a king, but as a father. It was hard to dislike someone when you loved someone who loved them so much.
Turning slowly back to him she took a deep breathe before speaking again. "Sire," She dropped into a bow again, more out of fear of him yelling at her to go away then respect, "I can see---Forgive me for being so forward, but I can see you worry for Morgana. A worry I share for my mistress, but I see allot of your self in her." No the anti-magic parts or the parts to judge without compassion but, "I see your determination, and courage in her. That gives me hope for her." Gwen knew better then to keep going without his permission. She wondered if he would send her away. . . . . or send her back to the cells below for being overly bold. She was braced for both. "Forgive me for being forward." She said just in case.

Uther was rather annoyed at the moment as he looked down the city from above. Everything seemed quiet today, dayâs like today was peaceful and thatâs what Uther loved the most about Camelot but he didnât feel like being peaceful right at this present moment where everything was going down hill. Uther looked back at Guinevère but turned away for a moment as she started talking. Guinevère was Morganaâs servant now she was helping out in the castle till Morgana returned and Uther hoped that it would be very soon as he missed her deeply. Uther listened to Guinevèreâs words as she spoke to him.
âI am worried about Morgana Guinevère. I fear the worst and each passing day confirms my fears that she may not be coming back at all.â Uther replied back to Guinevère. Uther sighed as he turned away from the city to look back to Guinevère. Uther smiled as he listened further to Guinevère as she explained things about Morgana. âI thank you Guinevère for youâre support even though you of all people shouldnât be.â Uther replied back. Uther was of course talking about the day he sentenced her own father to death, this indeed must be awkward. Everything seemed to be going so well but Uther knew that he shouldnât let his guard down.

At his words she felt her heart beat faster. The reminder of her father was still hard. Tom might not have died by the king's hand but it had been the kings words that started the chain of events. Gwen feared she would never understand why her father had tired to escape. She hoped to prove him innocent, and he had only made him self appear guilty. The king heard the word magic and judged guilty with out more thought. Gwen had felt that wrath once before.
"You do not have to thank my sire, for being loyal to my mistress." She told him honestly, with out any malice one might expect from one in her shoes. It was hard to wish everyday for the day to arrive where Arthur would be king, and then to pray every night that Arthur would never feel the pain and loss she had felt.
She might mean it less had she not gotten glimpse of the king though his son's eyes. Arthur loved his father very much, and while the king seemed a hard man, Gwen had never doubted that the father loved his son deeply as well. "Everyone in your kingdom, my lord, knows there is no better knight then our prince. If anyone will bring her home, it will be his highness." She tired not to speak about Arthur with to much emotion, and less familiarity.

In the war against magic Uther knew there were going to be tough times ahead of him but he swore an oath to himself and his people that magic is not only evil but whoever uses magic are evil and must be dealt with severe punishments and the punishment of using magic is death. Uther had ordered Guinevèreâs father Tom to death because of that law he had passed down to his people it was meant to keep them safe from magic. Utherâs thoughts returned to his son and Morgana, he hopped that Arthur would bring her home very soon and with each passing day Arthur returned without her Uther grew angrier that he allowed this to happen.
Uther had failed Morganaâs father in the promise that he would look after her and now Morgana was missing. Uther listened to Guinevèreâs words but he wasnât really listening to them only half listening. âYouâre right Guinevère I know that Arthur will bring Morgana safe and sound but I still have my doubts. If Morgana dies Camelot would have lost a good person.â Uther replied back to Guinevère. Uther turned back to look at his city, Camelot has really come a long way from the great purge and the war against magic. Uther knew that he still had a lot of work to do before he knew that Camelot was safe, safe for Arthur to become king.

Gwen gave a sharp intake of breath, at the king's words. She did not like to think of Morgana in that way. She had to believe that she would come home safely, and that Arthur would return with her. "I shall pray everyday, my lord, that it will not fall to that." She spoke and then fell silent for a moment.
She glanced behind her and wondered if she should leave him to his thoughts now. She wanted to, as talking to the king made her feel like she was waiting for a blow. She was braced for it to come at any moment. Or as if she was walking over the lake when it had frozen over, and the ice could crack any moment, dragging her down to her doom.
Still, he was Arthur's father. "I would not speak but these ill times, sire, but I believe knowing this might give you some hope with you doubts. When the outlaw Hengist kidnapped my mistress and I, the Lady Morgana fought them. She planed and fought and saved her self." Gwen debated on taking a step back or not, as she wasn't sure of his reaction. "She is very brave and courageous, sire, and I do not believe this sorceress will harm her. Not after the gifts she gave her." Meaning the bracelet. Gwen had seen Morgana staring at it often.
