He tied his horse, and she wasn't sure what she felt about him assuming he was staying around long enough to need to tie his horse. She'd be afraid of someone or something attacking her out here, while she was alone; and now she was now. Lancelot would protect her, she trusted him. On the other--she'd destroyed two men because she'd been unable to make a choice. Because she made the wrong choice and curly lead Lancelot to believe she felt something stronger then what she did, and it had gotten them both banished for it. How could he stand to be around her? Did he expect . . . Did he still believe she would be with him? The realization that her damage wasn't all the way finished was enough that her breathing slightly escalated. Slow deep breaths as she waited for his words.
"When I almost gave I looked up to find the door was unlocked and the guards weren't there. And as I walked outside Gwaine was waiting with a sword in his hand and horse." The guards where gone? Guinevère was distracted from her unease by his words. They were gone? She'd been dragged before Arthur and pushed to her knees. Did he escape? Yet he spoke of Gwaine. Had they let him go? Without making him go before Arthur?
His final words distracted her once more. He apologized. To her. Gwen's face crumbled as she fought the tears, and lost the battle! "No," she told him, her face falling toward the ground and her hand coming up to cover it. He held so much honor, and he would take the blame for this if she let him. "I should apologize," she began, still not looking at him. "I knew you loved me, and I can't explain what happened. I felt drawn to you. I thought you were dead, and then you were not, and everything was just . . . " It was like a dream more then something she'd done. Looking up at him, she pressed her hands, dagger still in hand, to her belly. It wouldn't cut her at this angle but she still forgotten it in her hands. "I am so sorry, Lancelot. THe fault is mine." She knew he loved her, he's proven it so many times. And she abused it by asking him to protect another man--and then by not being clean in what she wanted. "I am so sorry!"

Guinevère watched as the men began to approach, and her chin lifted just as Percival's sword lifted higher. The other knights, the few who were here, pulled their swords as well as it appeared the room was about to become a blood bath. She didn't even have the chance to feel cold, as she reached for the sword near her--she could fight some. She would not go out quietly! She would----
The doors thundered opened, letting the omnibus sound echo off the stone walls, as everyone paused to look toward the intruder to the scene. And then, Guinevère didn't hear much else for a moment. Because for a moment, there was nothing else. "I am Arthur Pendragon," the room tilted, but she stayed standing still. "King of Camelot." She felt Percival moving back toward her, and faintly saw him looking between her and . . . . and . . . . The other knights seemed to be as well, as if not sure what was happening--yet she saw none of it as she could only stare at the man walking into the room. "And you will stand down." And for a second, they almost did.
No one moved. Everyone stared at him for a few long moments. Saxon. Camelotian. Knight. Queen. Warrior. Even Erikson the ruler of the Saxons. Everyone stood there for a extended silent moment. Faint battle cries from the cities fight could be hear through he windows, but in this room, and in this moment---everyone stared.
The Saxon's knew who he was. They'd fought him before. They knew he'd died--everyone knew he died! Merlin TOLD her he was dead! She'd trusted him! Was this her husband? Was this the real Arthur Pendragon? Guinevère looked over his face, and saw the same face. She looked over his body, and couldn't see much of it's shape but he held Arthur's stance and---
Excalibur! Only one wielded it! Arthur Pendragon! Arthur Pendragon, True King Of Camelot! Arthur! Was! Alive! She didn't know how or why or . . . . she didn't know! Yet she knew it, by his face and by his sword, and by his voice--She prayed she wasn't wrong! She prayed this wasn't a trick! Yet she had to pick a side, and she rather take the risk of hope, the the risk of death. "To the king!" She called, out and just as swiftly Erikson gave the order, 'KILL HIM!'
And just as swiftly as the room had fallen silent and still; it flooded with battle cries and chaos!

Guinevère had remained calm so far, and she proud of herself! It wasn't easy to sit before the future king of England and say what she had to say. She had manged to do it without any tears, or panic rising up! She was rather impressed with herself, and she must be growing now that she was a mother! Normally she'd have lost confidence, rambled, stalled, or if her hormones were really doing a swing--cried. Yet not today! Take that pants button! She didn't it to button in order to have this under control!
"You're not the first woman to make this claim." OH my giddy aunt! What?
Guinevère moved back in her seat, staring at him in . . .. nothing good! Something! Horror? Shock? "You have other children?!" She hissed out, in shock at his words! OH GOSH! She was one of MANY?? HOW MANY?? HOW COULD SHE FALL FOR THIS?? She was going to panic now! Her hands shook, and her breathing deepened! SHE'D LIKED HIM!! GOD SAVE THE COUNTRY!
Wait?! Claim?! "You don't believe me?!" She asked next, only just realizing what he was saying?! CLAIM?! HE THOUGHT SHE WAS MAKING THIS UP! . . . . LIKE SOME HAD BEFORE HER! She covered her face, and looked down for a moment as the anger and embarrassment took over! Oh gosh! He was going to make her prove it! She could see it now! Taking a deep and slow breath she knew she needed to look at him but couldn't.
Finally after a moment she forced herself to look at him. "After the baby is born, you're welcome to request a blood test." She said, her face heated from both emotions, she was surprised her voice was calm. Everything else felt shaken. "I will not do it before hand, as I've heard there are risks involved." He was the prince of the country, she guessed she should have foresaw the need for proof. Even still, it was a sore spot that THIS was who she was now! The woman who needed prove to prove who the father was. Embarrassing was a mild word for how she felt about THAT.
"I'm not asking for your money, or anything from you. I can do this on my own. I just thought you should know." She told him, again her voice calm, while the rest of her freaked out.

Her knights were scattered through the city--a mistake she now knew, but she couldn't have left the people ti fight alone. No matter what befell the kingdom, she had to try to save as many of the people as she could. She'd failed Arthur, but she wouldn't fail the people as well. Saxons were closing in, and there was no way that they could old them off. Not for long at least. Which is why she gave the order to protect the people as the Saxon's moved toward the throne room--she'd be the distraction needed to allow the people to escape.
Erikson, the leader of the Saxons, moved into the room with a large amount of his men. Guinevère stood before the throne, and lifted her chin. She could lead the people in peace time; yet war was something she knew nothing about. Her general, Leon, was away and unable to get back into the city with the Saxon army between them. Percival stood just behind her, having decided that he would be her guard--or die trying. And she feared that at this point they would all die trying.
'You're kingdom has fallen, your majesty.' He called toward her as they moved closer. Percival took a few steps forward to keep himself between them and her. She wanted to order him back, and away, but she couldn't. She understood his job. The importance of the knights. "Land does not fall to men. Camelot will stand strong." She told him, knowing that unlike before there was no heir, no prince waiting to become king. The Pendragon era ended with her. Ended with Arthur.
"It will rise again." Erikson moved even closer, and Percival pulled his sword. 'No, this is where it dies. This is Saxony now. Rules by the Saxons. Your old ways are dead. It's time for a new era.' He looked at his men, then back at her. 'Kill them. Erase all claims to the throne.'

Guinevère was Queen. The sole ruler of Camelot. For a girl born to a blacksmith and servant it was higher than she ever should have rose. She had never set out for power, and now she had the highest power in the land. The thought of doing this alone was one was always one she feared and now it was a reality. Her beloved husband was dead. And she had to live the rest of her life without him.
This might have been easier had the kingdom found peace after Arthur's victory with the Saxons. But the victory was short-lived. Using the momentum of the final battle, the Saxons continue their push in to Camelot. At first it was small things. Borderland villages were attacked. Farms were burned. And as time went on the attacks became more targeted and closer to the Citadel. Sir Leon, the general of the army of Camelot, fought hard to keep the kingdom out of their hands. Yet their tactics and fighting were unlike the ones that Camelot had seen before. Without Morgana at their head they brought a new ruthlessness to the war.
Merlin had not been seen for many months. Knowing of his magic Guinevère had hoped that he could save Arthur, and when he couldn't she had hoped that he could save Camelot. Yet as the days turn to weeks and the weeks turn to months there have been no sign of him. Not only had she lost her beloved husband but she feared she'd also lost her friend. Gaius assured her that Merlin needed time, but time was something Camelot did not have.
And then 6 months after the last great battle, Guinevère face the greatest trial. An invasion. The Saxons laid siege to the Citadel. With her General away fighting, Guinevère was faced with decisions that she never had to make before. There was a limited food stored. They can last for a while but they could not last forever. The siege lasted for three weeks, before they got inside. The market and lower town was lost first, and Guinevère sent the knights to protect the people. It was then that the leader of the Saxons enter the throne room to demand her surrender . . .

"Relax." The voice came from the shadows. THE voice. "It's just me." HIS voice. One she'd known anywhere. Lancelot. Normally this would have filled her with ease in knowng he was there, but now . . . Now it filled her with something else. Not quite fear, and not of him. She knew he would never harm her, but of herself. Regret for what she'd done! To Arthur. To him!
He stepped into the light, his horse near him. She knew that this meant he was banished too. Guinevère turned her dagger away from him, so the blade pointed to the ground. She held no fear that a dagger would protect her from. Yet she couldn't look away from him right now, in order to put it away, if wild horses showed up behind her. HE was HERE. She inhaled a slow breath, trying to sort out what she was feeling. "I never thought I'd see you..." again? Here? She wasn't sure what would follow that, but she wasn't sure she should know.
Guinevère stared silently at him for another long moment before she blinked and shook her head. Seeming to come out of her surprise, and emotion chaos of seeing him walking toward her out of the dark. She closed ehr eyes and looked down for another long moment, trying to regain control. "Lancelot," she whispered his name, before looking back up at him.
She didn't blame him. She knew he loved her. She knew he loved her when he came back with Percival. She knew it when he stayed. She knew it when she cruelly asked him to bring Arthur home, and he died. She knew it when he came back int he middle of the joust! And she would always love him, but it was a different love then the love she held for Arthur. She had thought she made her choice, but then her emotions . . . no she didn't blame Lancelot. She'd led him on. Let him believe something that she couldn't explain! Not any longer. "I feared you'd still be in the prison." She told him, knowing that Arthur's Uncle would push for execution. She didn't think he deserved to die. Yet she wasn't sure she was comfortable being around him any longer. Him or Arthur. She'd done so much damage. "They let you go?"

As he entered, Gwen stayed by the door so she could shut it. When his back was too her she smoothed out her yellow dress, wanting to make sure she was presentable. Gwen wanted to check her hair, but that would be obvious! She realized she wanted too because she wanted him to think she was pretty. Not that it would matter, he would soon be a knight! "uhh.. thank you for agreeing to help" Smiling brightly up at him, "You're welcome."
She was glad to help! She wanted to help. For Gwen she thought this almost adventurous! She trusted Merlin to make sure that his friend didn't get hurt or caught! Merlin had a good heart to help his friend. "I hope this request won't trouble you." "A friend of Merlin's is a friend of mine," she began, her hand folded before her. Gwen had a nervous habit of rambling or over explaining so she tried to make sure her word were simple! The last thing she wished to was embarrass herself around him! "It wont be trouble! I quite enjoy it actually . . . not trouble, but making things! Helping people."
"I'm Guinevère, but everyone calls me Gwen." She held out her hand to him so they could shake hands and meet before she would end up with her hands all over him to measure for his clothes. Which sounded wrong in her head, so she was grateful she hadn't said that allowed!

He didn't move. He didn't let her move. Guinevère felt her heart swell with love for this man! He wanted to just hold her, and spend these moments together. She looked at the tent flap, then at him. Shifting so he pulled out of her, she exhaled from the feeling before moving to tuck herself into his side and rest her head on his shoulder. Her fingers lifted to brush his hair back from his face and they ended up lingering there to toy with his hair.
She didn't say anything, as she watched his face and just enjoyed the feeling of his heated body beside her. After a few moment she spoke, teasing him slightly, "It is a good thing you are king. You don't follow a queen's order very well." She teased, knowing he had followed them but had found ways to 'follow' them without following them at the same time. She wouldn't have him any other way! She loved that he wanted his hands on her! She loved that he wanted to touch her. It made her feel beautiful, and loved, and important to him--all things she felt when he was near!

"Hopefully it was a good smell," Guinevère laughed, "Yes," it had made sleep impossible for that night, but she'd liked it. "And after you'd left, I missed the company. My house seemed lonelier then before." Something that was easy to talk about now that he was her husband, and she wasn't lonely any more. She was loved, and spent almost every night in his arms! Guinevère knew that sometimes he had to leave to do things in the kingdom, but that he would return to her and she'd was once again in his arms!
"Then know that I will always be there watching you," She told him, knowing that she wanted to see him end safely every time! She liked that he looked for her before and after the fight. Making sure she was there! Before when their eye held, she ha felt her heart jump; knowing that he was thinking of her. Now she smiled when he did, knowing he was still--even years later--thinking of her! It was better each time he did. Because this love wasn't fading, it was growing!

Guinevère liked touching him, so his words only made her smile. She marked off his arm span, and then looked up at him, "I need to measure a lot of you," She explained, still smiling as she stepped into him, wrapping her arms around his chest and pulling the measuring cloth around him. Her fingers again brushed him but this time over his ribs and chest as she pulled the measurement from behind him and marked it off.
"And I should warn you," she told him in a low voice, her fingers lingering over his chest, "That once I finish measuring for your shirts," she let go of the cloth so it fell from around him and hung in her fingers. "That I will need to measure you for your trousers." Which meant she would be close, and touching, and lingering . . . everywhere!

Perhaps she should have made sure he wasn't drinking! Guinevère grabbed a napkin and handed it over to him just in case, while she watched him. That . . . . was a reaction, but didn't tell her much about what he was feeling. SHe'd known for about a month now, and it had taken her a few weeks to adjust before she could come see him--then a small bit of more time to schedule a meeting with him. Thankfully she was friends with his personal . . . . something. Merlin did a lot of jobs for him.
"Yes," she was sure. Guinevère knew she needed to give him slightly more, but she let that linger before she tried to tell him more. Needed to give him time to adjust to think news. "I . . . . I heard the heart beat a few days ago." She began, "The doctor confirmed it." A month ago. She didn't add more, not wanting to overwhelm him. She looked at her drink but didn't think she could drink it with throwing up before the prince. That was't going to happen. Suddenly the smell of it was too much so she just placed one of the napkins over the top, and left it there. This time her belly was chrunning because she was nervous, not morning sickness.

Guinevère felt herself blush, and nodded slightly almost laughing at herself too. She hadn't said it well, but how wasn't sure how much courage she had. It took everything to tell him, she wasn't sure she could be any more blunt then that. Yes, they'd hung out. He'd made her toes curl and stolen her breath. She'd used muscles then that she hadn't known she had. It had been wonderful! Yet, he'd never called and she'd just assumed that might have been better. He was a prince, and she was s school teacher. They didn't travel int he same circles.
Go on. Alright. She took a slow breath and then just said it. Thankfully when she did her voice was smooth and steady--showing none of the panic and unease she felt. "I got pregnant." Guinevère watched his face, waiting to see how he would shift from the at ease picture of confidence. Would he even want the baby? Would he offer money to go away? How embarrassing! She hoped he didn't. He didn't have to be apart of this, but he would at least know.

"Yeah, it is." Though she wasn't sure how to say it, she instead just replied to what else he said. It was stalling, yet, but how did tell a Prince that he'd left an heir at one's house when he stayed over. It was a bit much, and she wasn't sure how'd he react. While she had come to accept this, and welcome the baby, this would shift more for him then for her. He was the prince of a nation, and she was only responsible for the plants in her house.
"I've been . . . well." She said, hesitating over the words a bit. "I've recently had some big changes, but I've adjusted." Which led them to the baby. His baby. Her baby . . . . their baby. "Do you remember that night? The one were you . . . . were we . . . . went to my flat and hung out over night?" She could talk about sex, but didn't quite manage it this time. "Something happened, and I needed to talk to you."

Guinevère had tried on clothes for hours before she settled on a dark jeans that she had to leave unbuttoned (she had them buttoned when she left but then it became uncomfortable), knee high boots with cream colored lace boot-socks around the top. Her top was bulky, but at least it hid the back that she was about to walk into a coffee shop and sit down with the Prince of England wearing pants that wont--freaking--button!
She stepped into line and ordered a drink she knew she wouldn't drink, but having it was something to do with her hands. After giving the owner her name, she was shown to a back door, checked for weapons, and then allowed to enter. Pushing open the door, she turned to shut it; trying not to look at him until her took a deep calming breath. Turning she walked over to take the seat he offered her. "Hullo," she began, and sat her drink down. She glance a QUICK glace at herself to make sure that her pants couldn't be seen before look back up at him.
"Thank you for meeting with me." She told him, "It means a lot." Though he might regret it once she told him why. "How have you been?" She asked, doing to polite thing first.

The. Prince. Of. Camelot. Just. Thanked. Her. He had actually said the words thank you, to her . . . . a servant. While he had never been cruel, he didn't thank people for things. He was a prince, they were expected to do things for him. Now he looked at her--and for once she felt like he SAW her--and he said thank you. "You're welcome," she said, her voice almost breathly in reply as she trying to deicde if he'd hit his head or if something had happened.
"Just your company," In his bed chamber! "Not like that," Oh good! Yet, then how did he mean?! "We're not friends are we," Friends?! WITH A PRINCE?! She was friends with Morgana, but for some reason that as different. Guine--Gwen watched him for a moment, as her mind tried to figure out what is happening here. She imagined that being Prince had a host of pressures, though he had never seemed as if it affected him before. Now she wondered if it had, and he had never let it show? Did he need a friend right now?
Since her answer would have been a no, and she wondered if that wasn't what he needed to hear, instead she said carefully. "Do you need a friend, my lord?" Taking a small step closer to him, she smiled softly though it wasn't a real smile. More a I am trying, smile. She picked her next words with care, "Do you need someone to talk too?" WHY he would pick her, she didn't know. Maybe because Morgana talked to her, and he felt he could because of that?

Guinevère liked his hand on her back. A lot! She liked how warm it felt, and how (even though it was bigger and stronger then her own) it made her feel safe! She laughed when he teased her about Gwaine! Surely not! Then again, she didn't know for sure! "Then I better get to work," measuring him and getting everything ready!
Reluctantly, she pulled from his grasp and turned to pick up her tape meant to measure him. She walked back toward him. "First your shirt!" She said, and reached to move his arm to hold it out; then running her measurement tracker over his long arm. Her fingers skimmed his skin, and body as she did. Marking the length once she had it. Letting her self stay close, she moved to his other side and repeated it. "I will need to get close," she whispered softly, finding she enjoyed being close to him.

Guinevère knew the risk of getting caught in this tent were high, but she also knew that his was his wife now. While embarrassing, if they were caught then it wasn't going to cost someone their life. Just make her walk around with a permit blush from the embarrassment! Arthur kissed away her fears, and her hands relaxed to uncover herself! His men might not 'know' who to blame but they would guess!
When the kiss broke, she looked down at him. "We should dress before someone comes looking for you." The king was always needed. She knew when she married him that she'd share him in a way; and while she didn't mind, she made sure that she reminded him that he was a man, and not just a king. Arthur was the type to loose himself in the role he was born to do. She was born to help him.

Gwen wasn't sure what surprised her more, his strong no; or his questioning how long she had before she at to go? She stood a step back from the door, not in fear but in willingness to show him that she wasn't going to walk out of it. "I will let you tell her when you are ready," she agreed, and then folded her hands before her. This was such an odd day, and she didn't understand much of it. And she wanted too.
"You want me to stay?" She asked, staring at him. Her eyes looked around the room, as if reminding her where she was. "In your bed chambers?" This time it was lower, and she wasn't sure if he heard her or not. Yet, she wanted to know what was happening here. Why he spoke of her night gown, and . . . and so much more. He was speaking TO her, not at her. And she . . . she sort of liked it. Yet she knew she shouldn't. "I can stay," for now. "Did you need something from me?"

"I was so caught up int he kiss, that I did not think of your father until later." She told him, knowing that at the time she had just been standing there staring at the door. When her mind did think of Uther, it had been while thinking of how impossible this would be. "Watching you joust that day, after you kissed me . . . . I feared you'd kissed me goodbye. I had seen you joust many times, but never had I . . . cared so much for the outcome." Because she realized she cared for him.
"My bed smelled of you for days after you left. . . . I loved it." It hadn't been a bad smell, but his smell! She was only telling him this because he was her husband now. "The most difficult part will be paying attention to what you are doing, so you can return to my side!" She teased, correcting his words. "I will be watching to make sure you are safe. Do not look at me! Sometimes you do that and I fear you are distracted and will loose a limb!" She was teasing, for she knew of his skill! Yet she did worry! What if he didn't pay enough attention?
