Day 5: Member Highlight: Romily

Romily de Braose

This member joined us in the depths of winter, when Merlin was just ending for it's latest series. On Dec 11, 2010, Romily de Braose made her account to join us. From there is built up her now famous muse into the should have been canon. While she is an O.C. she has won our hearts over with her long running plots and the many threads she has brought to the board.

She has taken on other muses to grace us with including a knight, and three canons. The first was Cenred in which she brought humor too while she had the passion for him, and for Lady (princess) Vivian, she added the same charming humor in her pursuit of our now king! She still holds our dear Vivian and you can still see her chasing after the once bachelor prince.

Then there was Merlin. While she recently stepped down as Merlin due to the lack of time she could give her beloved muse, she has left an impression on all of us with her time as him. We can still remember her first few posts as Merlin, and how she won us over with him. While she is no longer Merlin, she will be remembered fondly as him.

For her personal life, Romily loves most fantasy and action programs, such as Merlin, Robin Hood, Sherlock and Game of Thrones. She still writes fan fiction for most of those, as well as keeping up with her posting!!! Romily is an absolutely fantastic person to write with, and to plot with, and she is the reason I got into this site in the first place as she was the one to send me the link to the site. I haven’t looked back since! I have known her for years, as we used to write fan fiction for each other on a Robin Hood site, so we both got into roleplaying at around the same time for a smaller, Robin Hood roleplay. She’s always a fantastic person to have around the site, and her writing is always fantastic and to a high standard. The plots she comes up with are always exciting to partake in, and I’m fortunate enough to have a lot of active threads and plots with her at the moment. I know Romily on and off the site, and she is a wonderful person and a fantastic friend. - Caitrin

It had taken me some time to talk to Romily, and when I started to, I wasn't sure why I hadn't done so sooner!! I'll never forget the circumstances that brought us together . . . that is, all the minky that we experienced!! Even though we didn't know each other, we vigorously defended each other in the chat box when a former member of the site was being a bit rude. That was our instant connection. From then on, she became someone that I talked to practically every day, and posted with on a regular basis!! From casual talking to Bad Romance, posting with her has always created fun times and lots of laughs! ESPECIALLY with her muse Vivian! Hearing that she wanted to take this character had made me ecstatic and reading her posts set me in a fit of laughs every single time!! I love the dynamics we were able to build between our characters, and the friendship that we were able to develop from it! Its not easy to take a character like Vivian, yet she plays her flawlessly and always has me cracking up at her posts!! She is truly a talented writer with so much to offer, and I'm lucky to have been able to both post with her and get to know her off the site!! LOVE YOU ROMMERS!!!

I can still remember Cenred twirling his mustache and threatening to end Guinedeer if she did not betray Arthur, and Vivian C-blocking Arwen every moment she got. Fun times by a fun girl! These were awesome memories of her two cannons she played! She definitely rocked the humor with her crazy-fun portrayal of Vivian. -Guinedeer

Oh my! I really wasn't expecting to log on and see this! I've only just managed to go through all the member awards and things this week so it was certainly a surprise! Congrats to everyone on their awards and achievements so far! You all deserve them!

Seeing all this in words has really made my day, and although im not on site as much as i'd like to be anymore, I always look forward to logging back on and catching up with everyones posts - whether they be just reading them or writing them myself. Even though I had to make the sad decision of stepping down as Merlin, I didn't want to leave the site fully, as it really is the best roleplay around!
Reading all the wonderful comments that people have written have really have made me smile! and I can't wait to continue roleplaying with you guys, because you (as well as the admins) make this place what it is

Ok - with that speech over (thankfully I didn't have a Hallie Berry moment and cry) I think it's time to crack on with some posting!
