To say that Nora was exhausted was an understatement. After spending all night by her father's bedside, she was truly tired. She only managed to close her eyes for a little while, too afraid to fall asleep unless her father needed her.
He did look slightly better, less in pain when it was morning and she was relieved. Though, he was still dying she still wanted him not to be in much agony.
Her maid, Isabel rushed into her room, informing her that Caitrin had arrived and was waiting for her. Finishing the final touches to her dress, she followed her maid from her chambers and down stairs. Where she saw that once again Caitrin was not alone. Although she had Arthur with her this time and Nora was a little excited to see him. For he truly was an adorable looking infant!
She strolled up to her friend and curtsied a little before greeting her, "Good morning Caitrin! I see that you are not alone..." She joked a little at the end, before she said hello to the littler bundle in Caitrin's arms. Then feeling a little bold she touched his little fingers, amazed at how tiny there were.
"I hope that you had a good night's sleep last night," Nora began. "I did feel a little guilty that I kept you here most of the day." It was true, she did feel bad for making her stay for a long time. Though she did find comfort in her staying with her, she knew that Caitrin was a wife and now a mother and had many duties and responsibilities to attend to.

Arthur was quite happy this morning, and Caitrin hoped he would lift Elenora’s mood in a way. Perhaps it was a good thing that she had brought her son after all. He much preferred being held and cuddled, much more than his sister did, and the act was usually rewarded with smiles all round. Arthur was smiling up at his mother and pressing his lips apart and together, as if he were thinking of something to say. Caitrin was just transfixed by him, as she usually was. Arthur was an incredibly happy baby, it had to be said. She almost didn’t notice Elenora as she entered the room, and she had to mentally kick herself to bend her knee at her friend. “It’s nice to see you again Nora.” Though the circumstances were neither ideal or happy, it was still nice to see her friend. She smiled at the woman as she touched Arthur’s little fingers. The baby squealed happily at the sensations, and looked up to see who this new person was. He just stared up at Elenora with his mouth slightly ajar. “No, I had to bring him with me, I hope it’s not a problem?” She asked her awkwardly but her son seemed to break the ice somewhat.
Caitrin shrugged a little at Nora’s comment, “I can only sleep so well with twin babies in the house.” She commented with a little smile. Caitrin knew she had dark lines under her eyes from the lack of sleep, “Esmae kept me up most of the night.” She shrugged, she didn’t mind it that much, she would just have a nap later when she got back from tending to Nora’s father. Arthur however had slept right though the night, but he still wasn’t hungry. “But that’s no fault of yours, and I don’t mind helping you out, or your father.” She knew she would have to tend to Nora’s father eventually, but she didn’t want to get to that straight away, she wanted Nora to tell her how he had been first during the night, and she would probably do that best in a more informal conversation. “How have you been anyway?” She asked kindly, “I know last night must have been hard for you.” Seeing as it was make or break with the brew that Caitrin had given her father.

“It’s nice to see you again Nora.” Caitrin told her, genuinely happy to see her -- though of course the circumstances of them meeting was sad. Nora giggled when Arthur squealed happily at her. "It's nice to see you Caitrin," Nora responded before she tickled Arthur's hand a little, "And you too Arthur!"
Caitrin then explained that she had to bring Arthur with her and once again asked her rather awkwardly if that was alright. Nora shook her head, "Of course it's alright. It's not a problem at all. Plus we all seem to enjoy having young children around the place again." Nora smiled down at little Arthur as she kept staring up at her intently, working out who this person was. It truly was adorable!
Nora watched as Caitrin shrugged a little at her comment, “I can only sleep so well with twin babies in the house.” She said with a little smile and Nora could see the little dark lines under her eyes from the lack of sleep. But despite that, Caitrin still looked beautiful. Nora responded, "Yes I can imagine." Then Caitrin went on to say with a shrug, “Esmae kept me up most of the night.” And Nora did not have a hard time imagining that!
Caitrin then reassured Nora that it was no problem with her detaining her yesterday, “I don’t mind helping you out, or your father.” She told her with genuine care and Nora truly appreciated it and it somewhat eased her guilt in keeping her away from her family. “How have you been anyway?” Caitrin asked Nora kindly, “I know last night must have been hard for you.”
Nora sighed a little, "I'm alright. I'm a little tired having stayed up all night by his bedside. But the brew seems to have improved him quite a bit. His face is looking slightly better and he is not groaning in pain as much as he was before." Nora smiled a little in relief and hoped that it also eased Caitrin's nervousness for she knew that Caitrin was feeling anxious about whether her brew was successful or not.

Caitrin couldn’t stop herself from grinning at her son as he just continued to stare up at Elenora, wondering who she was, and why she was looking back down at him. He just flexed his fists a few times, and happily squealed again. Luckily Caitrin had such a tight grip on her son as he continued to wriggle about, Caitrin couldn’t believe he had so much energy this morning, “I’m sure he’s saying good morning back, in his own way.” She smiled up at her friend, knowing that yesterday Nora had been fine with having a baby in the house. Arthur had a sweeter and quieter disposition than his sister. “Would you like to hold him Nora? I’ve never asked before” She suddenly realised, Nora had met both of her children but she hadn’t offered to let her hold either of them yet. It wasn’t that she didn’t trust the woman, but she just hadn’t thought about it before now.
Arthur seemed to calm down a little as he just lay in his mother’s arms contently. He was incredibly different to his sister who would have, by this point have either been crying or wanting to be put down. Arthur loved to be held, but his sister preferred her own company some of the time. It was quite fun figuring out how different the twins were, though facially they were scarily similar. Esmae had just wanted feeding in the middle of the night, Caitrin didn’t want it to become habit for the young baby, but it had been the middle of the night, and she’d just wanted to get back to bed. If Esmae cried then none of them got a good nights sleep, “Well, she’s catching up on her sleep now.” Caitrin said softly and bit back a yawn.
Caitrin was relieved to hear that the brew was having some sort of effect on Nora’s father. She would have known if the girl was humouring her but no, there was no hint of anything like that in her eyes, so she trusted her for the time being that her father had settled a little. Caitrin did just want to ease his passing as much as possible. If it was working so far then that was only good news, “I’m so pleased to her the brew has started to work.” Caitrin smiled on at her friend, her son shifting in her arms again. “I will only give him a weaker brew today, too much might be as harmful as none at all.”

Nora giggled at the little one as he flexed his fists and squealed happily. “I’m sure he’s saying good morning back, in his own way.” Caitrin told her as she smiled up at Nora. "I'm sure he is," Nora laughed and then she ruffled her fingers in his hair.
“Would you like to hold him Nora? I’ve never asked before”, Caitrin asked Nora and Nora nodded her head eagerly. "Sure. I would love to. Maybe while you are checking on my father," Nora wanted to give Arthur a chance to get use to his surroundings and her before she held him. Though he seemed much more happy and settled that his twin sister, she did not want to cause Arthur any discomfort.
“Well, she’s catching up on her sleep now.” Caitrin said softly as she held back a yawn. Nora laughed, "Well I'm glad that she is getting some sleep then." And continued to watch Arthur with awe as he took in his surroundings.
Nora watched her friend's expression when she told her of her father's condition and seemed relieved and Nora was glad for it. “I’m so pleased to her the brew has started to work.” Caitrin smiled and Nora returned it, before she explained “I will only give him a weaker brew today, too much might be as harmful as none at all.” Nora nodded her head, before she looked up at Caitrin again -- having gotten distracted by Arthur once again -- and asked softly, "Would you like to see my father now?"

Arthur Aubert was clearly just trying to take in this whole situation as best he could. He was smiling though up at his mother, and then transferred that to Nora as well. Caitrin almost beamed with pride at her son, he already made her so proud, and she knew he would continue to do so. His Uncle was already calling him ‘Sir Arthur Aubert’, and it was strange to think this little bundle in her arms would one day be a man, and perhaps a knight. For a mother in her early days of motherhood, everything was hard to get her head around, but this was another thing she was finding it hard to comprehend. She just smiled back at her friend, she was sure Arthur had warmed to Nora straight away. The child had a warmth about him and a smile that everyone found incredibly difficult to resist.
Caitrin just nodded, it would probably make more sense for Nora to hold Arthur while she was checking over her father. That would kill two birds with one stone then wouldn’t it? And Arthur seemed quite happy this morning so she knew he would not pose any objections. He was gurgling at his mother, and proceeded to suck on a few of his fingers thoughtfully. Caitrin wasn’t sure how much of this situation he was truly taking in, but as usual she was transfixed by him. Arthur was the child she hadn’t been expecting, she had known she was expecting Esmae, because she had been able to feel her in the womb, but she had been hiding her brother, and he had only surfaced when she had been in labour. “That sounds fine to me.” She couldn’t say much more really, because she would have to show Nora how to hold Arthur when she was in a more comfortable position. She did hope that Nora would feel comfortable with her son in her arms.
She felt rather jelous of her daughter in many ways, as she really did need the sleep right now, but she had promised Nora to tend her father. Plus, she had children now so she didn’t have as much freedom, and couldn’t just fall asleep whenever she willed. She had to wait until the children were settled as well, and Arthur was anything but, “True, hopefully her temper will be sweeter when I get back.” Esmae was already taking after her mother in many ways, her temper was just one of those ways. Yes, seeing Nora’s father right away would probably be the best option. It was clear Arthur wasn’t going to be a problem, and Caitrin could check over the man and see what the course of action was going to be next. “Could you possibly carry my herb basket?” She asked Nora, as her hands were rather full of her son, “But I would like to see your father now, yes, so I can see what effect the potion has had on him.”

Nora smiled happily when Caitrin agreed that it was alright for her to hold Arthur for she was not a stranger to taking care of little children. She helped raise her younger sister who was 5 years her junior when she was born, so she knew how to hold a infant correctly.
“True, hopefully her temper will be sweeter when I get back.” Caitrin explained, which caused a giggle to escape Nora's mouth for she had a feeling that Esame took after her mother in that regard. "I'm sure she will be. Nothing like a good nap to brighten up your temper." Caitrin then asked if Nora could hold her basket so that they could go up and check on her father. Nora nodded her head, "Of course," before she bent down and picked up the basket next to Caitrin's feet and lend them both up to her father's chambers.
They finally arrived at her father's chambers and Nora opened the door, before she gestured Caitrin and Arthur to enter in first and Nora followed them straight afterwards. She closed the door so that they could have some privacy before she set the basket upon the chair.
Nora then turned towards Caitrin who was still holding little Arthur, and asked her warmly, "Would you like me to hold Arthur now while you check on my father's condition?" Nora then waited for Caitrin's response to holding her child.

Caitrin was still clinging to the hope that Esmae would be settled when she got back, Arthur would probably want a sleep by then as well, after all, even a little bit of travel made him tired. He was a baby after all, but he always let her know when he’d had enough, and Caitrin prided herself at least with knowing what was wrong with her children, and when they needed certain things. Sometimes with Arthur he just needed to be cuddled to settle down. “I hope so.” Caitrin admitted with a wide smile, though she loved Esmae, she was so much harder to tend to if she hadn’t had a good nights sleep.
She nodded at Nora as she agreed that she could see her father right now. Not to sound horrible, but Caitrin would rather get this over and done with, so she could return home. She was still the lady of her house, and she had duties to attend to, as well as two young children to tend to. It all kept her very busy but she would rather it was like that though, she did hate being idle. She didn’t really need to say anything as she followed Nora up to the room, instead she just smiled at her, and made sure that Arthur was comfortable in her arms. He still seemed happy enough, and he was sucking on his fingers. Caitrin frowned and pulled his fingers out of his mouth, but then quickly pulled a small, stuffed toy out of her pocket and put it in her sons hands. Where there might have been tears, he was quickly distracted, and small fingers smoothed over the fabric and clutched at it as he squealed happily.
The chambers were still the same as they had been last night, and Nora’s father looked very much the same, though if he was in less pain then it would only show to one who knew him really. Caitrin could only just guess. She turned round to Nora, and nodded with a smile. She wasn’t really fond of letting other people, other than her family, handle either of the twins. She was probably a bit too protective, but that was her, and nothing would change that. “If you just cradle your arms I’ll pass him to you.” When she had got herself comfortable she handed Arthur to her, the babe made a small noise of protest but was quickly settled again. Caitrin bit her lip and looked at her son until she was satisfied that he was fine. When she saw he was, Caitrin smiled at Nora and then took up her herb basket and went to look over Nora’s father.

Caitrin turned round to Nora, and nodded with a smile and Nora knew that while she was smiling, she wasn't too fond of letting her baby go. Which of course she understood as mothers tended to be protective over their children. “If you just cradle your arms I’ll pass him to you.” Caitrin instructed to her and Nora did as she was told and cradled her arms allowing Caitrin to pass the little bundle of joy to her. At first he protested at leaving his mother -- but then he settled down, allowing Nora to look down at the baby and smile at him. Which he returned with a gurgle.
Once Caitrin was satisfied that he was fine, she smiled over at Nora -- which Nora reciprocated -- and took up her herb basket before going over to her father.
While Caitrin was attending to her father, Nora decided to sit with the child on the floor, and placed Arthur in front of her in her lap. She began humming a song that her mother used to sing to her when she was little while Arthur played with his soft stuffed animal. He seemed to really enjoy sticking the animal into his mouth and sucking on it which made Nora laugh. Though, she knew young babies did this -- it still amazed her that they manage to want to stick anything into their mouths, including dirt! Her sister did that once, before getting told of by their very angry nurse-maid.
After a amount of time had passed, Nora looked up to see how things were going. "So how is he?" Nora asked, hopeful that the brew had helped her father somewhat.
Sorry this is late everyone!

As Arthur had made a noise of protest at being moved from his mother’s arms, and into another’s , Caitrin felt her heart wrench slightly. She didn’t like giving Arthur or Esmae up to many apart from her immediate family. She wasn’t even sure why, she was just fiercely protective of them, but she knew she had nothing to fear in relation to letting Nora hold her son. She shouldn’t feel as protective as she did, but she supposed there was no helping human nature. She would rather care too much than not at all. She needed to get used to other people handling the twins, and for her to be fine with it. It was much easier said than done though, and Caitrin knew that. She smiled on at Nora, finally tearing her eyes away from her son to tend over Nora’s father. It was the reason that she was here after all.
Caitrin began to look over the man, and was quite pleased with what she saw, or more relieved that it had actually worked. She could tell from the man’s breathing and pulse rate that he was now relaxed, which was a sure sign that the pain had been somewhat relieved. It would not save him, but it was a kindness of sorts. She couldn’t help but let a smile slide onto her lips, but she wiped it away, not finding it appropriate in the situation. She was more relieved that the potion had worked, but that did mean that she wasn’t quite sure how to proceed. Nora’s question pulled her from her thoughts, “His progress is encouraging, it has taken away some of the pain.” She smiled at her friend, hoping to give her some assurance that her father was in a lot less pain than he had been in. “I don’t want to give him any more of that potion though, as it can dull things a bit too much if used excessively.” She bit her lip nervously and looked quite seriously at Nora. She hoped her friend knew what she meant. “He can have some more of the potion in a few days, but between now and then the best thing for him is to just keep him comfortable.” It wasn’t much use, but it was the best that Caitrin could do with what she had.
She continued to look over Nora’s father though, in case there was something she had missed or whether there was some clue as to how she should proceed with the treatment. She couldn’t spot anything right away, but she could still hear her son in the background, “Is he alright?” She asked softly, craning her neck round so she could see her son who was happily playing with his stuffed toy.

Nora waited for Caitrin's response and it was not long until she did. “His progress is encouraging, it has taken away some of the pain.” She smiled at Nora reassuringly and Nora sighed in relief, "That is good." Caitrin then explained to her that she did not want to give him more the potion as it can dull things quite a lot if used in excess. And Nora agreed, "Alright. That sounds fine. I'm just glad that he is feeling better and less in pain." Nora admitted.
Then Caitrin offered kindly, “He can have some more of the potion in a few days, but between now and then the best thing for him is to just keep him comfortable.” Nora, once again could tell that Caitrin felt useless and Nora straight away wanted to reassure her, "Fine. We can arrange for you to come up again to visit and make the potion in case he needs it. Until then, I'll make sure (alone with the maids) that he is comfortable. Though, he seems much more comfortable now. Thanks to you and your potion." Nora smiled up at her in thanks and deep gratitude.
Caitrin then went back to looking over her father, and Nora supposed it was because she wanted to check if she had missed something or was looking for some sign on how she could proceed in his treatment. Nora decided to return her focus and attention back to little Arthur, who had decided that this was the time to grab a bit of her hair, causing Nora to gasp a little before giggling at the little boy. Then he dropped it in favor of his soft toy. “Is he alright?” Caitrin asked Nora softly, craning her neck round so she could see what her son was doing.
"He is fine. He just surprised me by grabbing a bit of my hair. But it's alright. My sister used to do that all the time when she was a babe." Nora told her before she looked down and smiled at little Arthur.

Caitrin was also glad that Nora’s father was feeling better. She felt like she had achieved something at bringing her friend some peace in this respect. She flashed her a soft smile as she continued her checks, just as she’d been taught years ago. Really, Caitrin wished she could find someone who would continue her tuition, because she still wanted to learn, but she didn’t want to risk her gifts becoming too mainstream. She knew some methods were too close to sorcery for some people, and now she had a family to protect she had no interest in causing trouble just for the sake of it. She would be content with her current knowledge and live with that for the time being. Maybe things would change in time. She hoped so, but there was nothing to suggest that anything would significantly change. Caitrin had learnt to live with that fact, and her sorcery was kept a secret by both her and her husband. “I’m glad he is in a greater comfort now.” Caitrin finally said as she stood up next to Nora’s father, wiping her hand on a cloth she had brought with her herbs.
A visit again in a few days seemed like the right way to go forwards from here and Caitrin nodded at her friend. It made sense of course, so that she could see if the potion was needed in a few days. In a few moments of darkness, Caitrin wondered just how long Nora’s father would last. They both knew the end was inevitable, but accepting the fact when it came didn’t make it any easier. She bit her lip and looked over the man, wondering if he had led a full life. She could tell Nora loved him very much, or she would not have sought help so urgently. It was refreshing to see, and Caitrin envied it a little. She hated her father, and he would never be allowed near her children, not after the pain he had caused her in her youth. That was a fault on his part though, not hers, so she felt no guilt about the fact. “If you need me at all then just send a messenger, and I will come as soon as I am able.” The only thing she couldn’t rely on was what the twins would be like if such an occasion arose, but Griff would be able to help out in that respect.
Now that Caitrin was done with her tasks, she leant up against the bedside table, and grinned down at Nora and Arthur. The baby certainly was happy, but he usually was. He always seemed so content, and Caitrin never really questioned why. She did always want him to be happy, him and his sister. She hoped that it wouldn’t be too long until their family was expanded, though she was more bothered about the children she had at the moment, rather than the ones she might have. “He’s just started getting a little more adventurous, but I like it. He’s showing us a bit more of his personality every day."

“I’m glad he is in a greater comfort now.” Caitrin finally said to her while she stood up next to her father and wiped her hands on a cloth she had brought with her. Nora nodded her head in thanks, before returning her attentions to the little boy in her arms.
“If you need me at all then just send a messenger, and I will come as soon as I am able.” Caitrin assured her and Nora was indeed grateful for it. "I will." She simply told her and then looked down just as little Arthur decided that her necklace was indeed very interesting and tried his best to make a grab for it. Nora laughed at the little babe, "What have you found, little one eh?" She asked him with a huge grin on her face, before she took it off and held it out in her hand for the baby to look at.
“He’s just started getting a little more adventurous, but I like it. He’s showing us a bit more of his personality every day." She heard Caitrin tell her, before she looked up and saw that Caitrin was finally done with her tasks and was leaning up against the bedside table, grinning down at them. "Well I can definitely see that. He's a very curious baby isn't he?" Nora smiled and then realized that now would probably be the best time for them to leave her father to rest.
"Would you like to come downstairs and have some refreshments before you leave?" Nora offered kindly, hoping that Caitrin and Arthur would stay a little longer. Though she would understand if they could not as they had family back at home that might need attending to.

Caitrin began to wipe her hands on the cloth that had been in her herb basket, and she was glad now she had not had to use any of the herbs today, because Nora’s father was very much improved in some respects. He would never get better, but in a way this was more for Nora than it was for him. She could tell her friend was a gentle soul, and that she wouldn’t rest easy unless she thought that she was doing the most for her father that she could. Caitrin smiled to herself at the thought, and nodded in agreement with Nora. She would come to the manor as quickly as possible without a moments hesitation, as long as both the twins were settled. She couldn’t come if they needed changing, or feeding for example, though perhaps Griff could help her with most, but the feeding she still had to do herself.
It was still difficult for Caitrin to let anyone else handle either of the twins. She had been somewhat isolated since giving birth, as the twins needed a lot of her attention, and it had taken her quite a while to recover from the birth anyway. She didn’t walk towards the pair though, she needed to do this more often and let others handle the twins, because it wouldn’t do them any good to become too isolated. Arthur looked happy enough, and Caitrin found comfort in that. She just didn’t want either of her children to think that she was ever passing them over, or that she didn’t want to be the one who was holding them and playing with them. Caitrin almost wished Nora had her own children for a moment, not so she could have Arthur back, but because she was so at ease with the baby. Others who had tried to handle the twins were usually quite stiff, and handed them back in a few minutes. “He is, or more he’s become more curious and adventurous.” Caitrin was already dreading the day he learnt to crawl, “But he’s always been interested in things that were going on around him.” Arthur, Caitrin always thought, seemed to be a silent thinker, and hardly ever cried. He just seemed to look around him, trying to see what life had to offer.
Caitrin had no reason to rush off back home, after all Esmae had been sleeping when she had left, and Arthur seemed happy enough. “I’d love that.” Caitrin enthused and took up her herb basket, wondering if Nora would offer to carry Arthur or not, “Would you like to carry him downstairs, or should I?” She might not feel comfortable with carrying her son, which was fine, and Caitrin would completely understand, “Should we sit outside, or inside?” It was a beautiful day, and though it would be a shame to waste it she supposed Nora might want to sit in the comfort of her solar instead.

“He is, or more he’s become more curious and adventurous,” Caitrin told her and Nora giggled and wondered how much that would increase when he starts to crawl. She remembers how her sister use to get into a muck when she started to crawl and was constantly getting into trouble for it. Though, Nora actually found it adorable, which she never commented out loud for their nurse would have told her off too. “But he’s always been interested in things that were going on around him.”
"Yes. I noticed that as soon as I saw him the other day. It's interesting how different Arthur and Esame are in terms of temperament and personality." Isolde was very observant when it came to people and children around her.
Nora was very happy when Caitrin said that they could stay for some tea. She then asked if Nora would like to carry him downstairs. Nora nodded her head eagerly before picking him up gently and placing him on her hip. She then stood up and said, "I would love to." Nora was just going to ask where they should take their tea, when Caitrin did it for her.
"Well, it is a beautiful day so why don't we have tea outside. Also it would do Arthur some good to be out in the sun I think." Nora hoped she was not being to presumptuous in regards with whether he wanted to be outside. She just knew that with her sister and other children she spend time with, they loved spending a bit of time outside amongst nature.

Caitrin began to muse that she figured that she would be forever running after Arthur once he began to crawl. He was already quite adventurous, and often spent most of his time grabbing things around him and putting them in his mouth. He’d already tried to ruin half the stitching on her gowns by grabbing onto them, but she could never be angry with him. She knew he was just curious, and she wanted him to explore and get to know the world around him. His Uncle was already calling him Sir Arthur, and even though the baby was still suckling at his mothers breast, it was almost expected that he would one day become a knight. Of course Caitrin would encourage him if he wanted to become a knight. She would be immensely proud if she had a son in the Knights of Camelot, though she knew she would always be beside herself with worry. Though this was not to be dwelt on too much at the moment,
Nora was right, it was interesting that Esmae and Arthur already had quite different temperaments. Esmae was a lot louder, and harder to please and settle, yet Arthur was always calm and quiet, and silently watched the world go by. Even though they had been brought up practically in parallel terms, they were both incredibly different. “It was quite hard to grasp their different temperaments at first.” Caitrin mused, “A one would like something, and the other would hate it. Though now I think we’re all getting to know each other a lot better.” She was always learning, and Caitrin knew she would never be a perfect parent, but she would have a good go at it.
Caitrin smiled and nodded as Nora confirmed that sitting outside would be the best thing to do. After all, it was a lovely day, and there was no use in sitting in doors and wasting such a nice day. “He’ll love it outside.” Caitrin confirmed, and decided on leaving her herb basket up here, there was no point in taking it outside anyway. “Shall we go down then?” She asked with a smile, and held the door open for Nora so she could pass through with Arthur in her arms.

Nora listened intently as Caitrin explained that it was difficult learning both babies temperaments at first as one would want something, but the other would not. But now it was getting better as they got to know each other. "That is good no doubt. I would find it hard trying to appease two babies with different temperaments." That is if she actually managed to settle down and find herself a husband to have children with. For there was nothing in the world that Nora wanted then a family of her own. Especially since she only had her father left but soon it would just be her. She hated thinking about it, but she couldn't not think about for it was a reality that her father was dying.
“He’ll love it outside.” Caitrin confirmed and Nora was glad, "Great." Caitrin then asked her with a smile “Shall we go down then?” then she held the door open for Nora so she could walk through the doorway with Arthur in her arms. "Thank you," Nora said before they both walked down the stairs and then to the kitchens so that Nora could ask the cook to prepare some tea and biscuits for them to have outside.
Once that was done and prepared, Nora lend Caitrin and Arthur (who was still in her arms) outside to the table and chairs set out already -- for her and her father loved having an afternoon tea outside. It was at this point that one of Nora's maid came outside with a blanket and some toys for Arthur to play with. The maid set it up for him, ready for him to play with and then Nora set him down upon it. "I hope he likes it," Nora told Caitrin, before gesturing her friend to sit down upon her chair. The maid then brought out the tea and biscuits for them to enjoy.

Though Caitrin now felt like she was getting to know the twins better, it had not always been so. At first it had been so hard to please both children. One loved being held, and cuddled, while the other preferred solitude. One slept in the day, and the other the night. It had been so much harder than she had expected it to be. However, all the tiredness, and the painstaking hours devoted to the twins seemed worth it when one of them smiled at her, or toyed with her hair, and just let her know that they were happy. “It is hard, a lot harder than I expected it to be.” She admitted softly. Perhaps she had been too naive at first, but she had quickly realised the hardship of raising twins. She had probably made it even harder by not hiring a nursemaid or a wetnurse, but she wanted a personal impact on her children’s lives, and not one just dictated to through a nurse.
Caitrin followed Nora outside, allowing her to tend to Arthur. The baby seemed happy enough, so she had no reason to take him back. She was quite glad in a way that Arthur was so happy with Nora’s company. After all, Nora was quickly becoming quite a close friend so she wanted her children to be comfortable around her as well. It certainly made things easier. She watched as Nora set him down on a blanket with his toys. The baby squealed happily and reached for the closest toy. Caitrin grinned down at him, “Well, somebody is certainly happy.” She commented, as Arthur tried to suck on the toy slowly, looking at his mother happily. “He defiantly likes it.” She reassured Nora, smiling at her gently.
The tea and biscuits were there presently, and Caitrin was glad of a drink and something to eat. Sometimes she was that bothered about her children that she forgot to look after herself sometimes. There weren’t enough hours in the day sometimes, and Caitrin took the tea gratefully, smiling with thanks at her friend. “Thank you, this tea is wonderful.” Arthur seemed happy enough, so she didn’t have to tend him for now, “How have you been Nora?” What with everything that was happening she wondered how her friend was faring.

They both watched as Arthur squealed happily and reached for the closest toy he could find. Caitrin grinned down at him, “Well, somebody is certainly happy.” She commented, and Nora was glad that he was happy and occupied. And like before when they were up in her father's bed-chambers, little Arthur placed the toy into his mouth and sucked on it slowly, before he looked up at his mother happily. “He defiantly likes it.” Caitrin reassured her with a smile on her face. "It seems he does like it and I'm glad." She responded happily, gladdened by the sight of little Arthur having fun in the sun.
They began slipping their tea and eating some of the biscuits. “Thank you, this tea is wonderful.” Caitrin told her and Nora smiled back at her friend, "I'm glad for we grow our own special brew on the estate." And Nora must admit it was her favourite tea, though she may be a tad biased. She loved the sweetness of the tea leaves as she has a bit of a sweet tooth.
“How have you been Nora?” Caitrin asked her gently, with friendly concern and Nora was glad to have Caitrin has a friend. For she knew exactly was to say to her.
"Alright." She admitted slowly, finding the question a little difficult to answer. She knew that her father's death was imminent, but it was still hard to cope with. For knowing was one thing, but facing it was another thing entirely. "I know that he is going to die," Nora began to say, "But I wish it was not so." She stopped as tears began forming in the corner of her eyes -- which she quickly brushed away, before she took another slip of her tea to calm her down.

As Arthur began to play with the toy in his hands, Caitrin stroked a finger over his small strands of hair. She loved the fact that both the twins took after her in terms of hair colour, she still remained quite smug about that where her husband was concerned. Though she knew that Griff was starting to feel a little outnumbered by redheads. After all, there was only him and her Uncle who didn’t sport the red hair. He had been hoping for a miniature version of himself when they had found out she was pregnant. Perhaps she would be able to fulfil his wishes, but not for a while yet. Not until she was used to the children she already had. She smiled at Nora, sure that this had been a fabulous suggestion. Arthur was happy, so she was happy s well.
She was quite impressed that the tea was grown on the estate. Perhaps she would have to convince her Uncle to enact something like that. She did enjoy tea, but they mostly bought it from the markets and traders when they came around. Caitrin took the tea slowly, she really was enjoying it. “It’s impressive that you grow the brew, we mostly just buy our brew in Camelot.” She explained, having never thought to grow the brew herself she’d just settled to pay for the tea from others. She spent enough time with the traders anyway when she was getting her herbs.
Though she hadn’t meant to upset Nora with her question, it had been an inevitable consequence really. After all, there was nothing really that she could drag out of this situation that was positive. Though her father’s suffering would soon be over, but it was easy for Caitrin to see that as a positive, because it wasn’t her family. She put a hand over Nora’s and squeezed it softly, “If you need anyone to talk to, I’m here.”
