Ah so there it was. The key to breaking King Uther, handed right to her. Too bad Morgana valued her own life, and that of her sister, otherwise she would take a knife and deal with it swiftly. Right here, right now. But no. Because Uther had an heir and said heir wouldnt go down without a fight. Better to attack from within and incapacitate Arthur's ability to fight back when, eventually, they finished off Uther.
And Morgause would be shattered. They had only just found each other, after so much and so long, Morgana didnt want to be taken from her permanently. Not even Uther was worth that. She hated it enough that she had to return here and pretend, rather than just remain by her sisters side. However, that being said, her arguments made sense. Uther would think her delivered from hell itself and the ground she walked on would be worshipped. She could do no wrong in his eyes. What better position for a spy and traitor that at the Kings left hand?
All through her thoughts, Morgana's smile remained firmly in place and she made her way over to her wardrobe to fetch her shawl. She wrapped it around herself delicately and moved back over to the King. "I promise that I will come straight inside if I feel even the slightest hint of tiredness," she assurred him. Thinking, why not, Morgana raised on her tip toes for a moment and pecked Uther's cheek before she made her way to the door. "Thank you again my lord. I will take my leave now," Morgana said finally, pulling open the door. She spared Uther one last look before she stepped out and began her walk down the corridor.

If it wasnt for the presence of the Knights, though that was little of a deterrant for her in reality, and all the servants who had been watching, Morgana would have slapped, punched or just generally stabbed that smirk off Arthur's face when he informed her he had duties with the knights, Uther had duties in council, and so she had been given the lovely duty of making a greeting style visit to Lady Lisa Kentura who was residing in the castle. Arthur had been so bloody smug, and sure, and arrogant about it being a womans duty to do the greeting and chatter that Morgana had wanted nothing more than to drop him right there in front of everyone. The one thing she hated more than a cocky man, was a cocky Arthur.
Now she wasnt vindictive. It wasnt that Morgana had anything against the other woman, they'd met briefly but had exchanged naught but a few words and she seemed nice, but she resented the implication from Arthur that day time chamber visits were a woman's area alone. That it was for her to go and gossip and giggle and chatter.
Morgana didnt like most of the women at court, with a few exceptions. It mostly stemmed from one of three things. They either only spoke to her because of her title and place beside the King, or they only spoke to her as a way to get in with Arthur. And last but not least, her personal favourite, they looked down their noses at her because they saw her as competition. Ha! As if she'd ever have Arthur. They were all welcome to him!
Though she had been itching to wipe the smirk off his face physically, she had to settle for a few well placed barbs before she spun on her heel and stalked off through the corridors of the castle. She'd get him back at a later date. Like.... when he next went practicing with all the knights as an audience and she happened to show up in a tunic and pants and decided to knock him on his ass.
And so now she found herself arriving at the doors to Lisa's chambers and Morgana paused. She took a few moments to swallow her irritation, after all it wasnt the other womans fault, and composed herself. Another moment and she released a breath before knocking on the door. Time to get this over with.

Silently grateful that he didnt push the issue of how her accident had occurred, Morgana breathed a small sigh of relief. If he had pushed, he may have inquired as to what she was doing, and, while she had faith in her ability to lie to him, it was easier just to not get into the stubject altogether in her mind. Not to mention she hadnt been as clumsy as she portrayed. That door closing and torch falling were normal enough, but a feeling told her something else was going on. For now however that was forgotten as she had to deal with this new revelation regarding her heritage.
She had always known Uther's reputation meant alot to him, but to take it this far was a new level of low, even for him. Morgana wanted him dead for his betrayal. Simple as that. She didnt know what her sister would have to say, but her mind was made up.
"If there is one person I know I can always talk to, it is you my lord," Morgana replied evenly. And was that the hardest lie of all to tell? Nope. It was incredible how anger and frustration made one better at deception. And Morgana didnt miss the hipocricy of his latter statements. He would have gone to magic to save her. Bastard.
"I do need my rest, but thank you for coming to see me," Morgana said finally, a smile on her face. "If you see Arthur, and he isnt too busy, would you mind asking him to come and visit me?" she added.

"That they do," Morgana replied, glad to see her joke had done the job. People were much more likely to cooperate when they were at ease and Leon was the key to cracking the remaining knights of Camelot. As Queen, she had to deal with any signs of rebellion, and she knew that Arthur would not rest until he had retaken Camelot. Or was dead.
Unfrotunately, she also knew her half brother would probably take the latter option. Stubborn ass that he could be, he was loyal and, despite what others might say, he wouldnt just let sleeping dogs lie. In other words, leave Uther to die. She didnt want to kill the only real family she had ever known, but Uther had left her little choice in the matter. He had made the decisions which had ultimately led to this point and forced Morgana and Arthur to stand on opposing sides.
Morgana stood from the throne as Yassia replied to her offer and stepped down from the platform. "It is nothing but that which you should have been given the moment you arrived in Camelot," she replied honestly. Another thing Uther had done. Forced people to wait, or denied them the very help they deserved. Though it brought up memories she would rather forget, Merlin's home village of Ealdor was a prime example. Uther had been so worried about Cenred and his army of ruffians that he hadnt given help when he should have. Morgana would never let that happen while she was Queen.
"Come, walk with me," Morgana offered, gesturing with her hand and the guards which had flanked her throne took a step back. The meaning was clear. She wanted time with Yassia alone and they wouldnt challenge her. "I will take you to the scouts now if it is convenient for you," she added with a smile. "The sooner they can be dispatched, the sooner you will have word back."

Morgana was, for a little while, absorbed by her browsing of fabrics, but eventually she had gotten through them all and selected one and her attention was broken. It was then she felt someone looking at her. It wasnt an uncommon thing in the marketplace, or in Camelot at all. She'd developed a bit of a sixth sense when it came to people staring though. She'd had to with Arthur. The only times he stared at her was when he either was gobsmacked, and she'd usually planned it that way, or when he was planning to do something absolutely vile to her. Case in point, the frogs in her bed episode.
Heavens thank Gwen for being in her chambers when that had started.
But back on the topic at hand, someone was looking at her. When she glanced up, she just caught sight of Sasha as she looked down. Ah yes, the girl was friends with Arthur. They had crossed paths once or twice but, contrary to popular belief, women didnt feel the need to be best friends with every woman they met. They exchanged pleasantries, but Morgana didnt have many noble friends, mostly by choice. Nevertheless, she should at least observe the niceties.
"Lady Sasha," she greeted with a polite smile, walking over to the other woman, her fabric in her arm. She also had to pick out some trimming, but that could wait. She wasnt in any hurry and besides, any chance she had to get one over Arthur, and even if that meant hinting that she'd spoken with Sasha while he hadnt been around, was too good an opportunity to pass up.

Morgana waved away the apology about bringing all of those people with the princess. It was natural to be protective of those one cared about, she herself would have run Bayard through if he had in fact tried to poison Arthur. He was her brother in everything but blood and nobody would be safe if they hurt him while Morgana still drew breath. "There is no need to apologise. It was a simple misunderstandering. We are only glad there are no hard feelings and no-one was hurt," the lady replied, waving her hand in gesture. While she did not know Bayard personally, Morgana understood that he had family and people who cared for him, just as she did for Uther and Arthur, so it was no surprise to her to see the princess so relieved to find out he was alright.
She smiled and bid the guard, who was still hovering rather annoyingly, away before turning back to Selena. "While I assure you there is nothing to make up for, I know that the men will be in talks for the rest of the day and most of the night if I know King Uther," this was delivered with a small chuckle. "As such, I find myself lacking company and I have been meaning to take a walk through the gardens," Morgana explained, smile still in place. "If you are not enganged elsewhere, and if you do feel the need to correct whatever wrong you think you may have committed, I would welcome you if you would join me," she offered finally. "Having never been in Camelot I would be honoured to give you a tour."
And Morgana wasnt just being diplomatic, though she could be when called upon. She honestly would welcome the company of someone other than the guards who took it upon themselves to escort her everywhere in the last few days. Honestly, if someone wanted to kill her, which she highly doubted they would when Arthur made a much more promising target, the previous events a prime example, she doubted it would happen between her chambers and the hall. And Selena was a new face in Camelot. She could find out about her, and the castle servants would no doubt fill in the blanks by days end anyway. Might as well know the truth about her.

Morgana paused by the rack as Leon replied to her. Gwen had mentioned it but she hadnt gone into a lot of detail. Something which gave Morgana the impression that she was speaking about the past, rather than the present. She knew how it felt to grow apart from people and having duties get in the way, she'd done it herself growing up, though hers were more along the lines of growing out of people rather than apart from them. Most of the young women she'd known growing up in Camelot she had thought were her friends. Then she'd gotten a little older and come to realise they saw her as either a way into court, or a way to Arthur. She'd put a quick end to that. Gwen was probably the only woman she knew who didnt see Morgana's friendship for her title and what it could do for her. Just as Morgana didnt care Gwen was her servant. She was her friend and that was all that mattered.
Coupled with the fact Leon was now a knight made Morgana wish Gwen still had that closeness with him. Feeling herself choke up once more, she pulled another sword from the rack and turned to Leon.
"If you are not needed elsewhere, would you spar me Sir Leon?" she asked, tilting her head a little as she gestured with the weapon. "Normally I would challenge Arthur and relish the opportunity to outdo him, however since he is... otherwise indisposed, I would like to see how you fair," she added, smiling perhaps honestly for the first time all day. "See if it is simply Arthur or his teachings that lead him to be bested by a woman." Yes, she knew she sounded impertinent and disrespectful, but at this point, it was all she could do to smile so she didnt really care. Not to mention she would never let Arthur live down that she found someone else to be a better sparring partner. True or not, the look on his face would be priceless.

After however long it has taken me to make, I finally finished this little video.
Its a tribute to the friendship's between Merlin, Guinevère, Morgana and Arthur. I just think it's so epic and it always makes me smile when I think of them. So, this video came into existence because of it.
The Gift of a Friend
It's my favourite video so far! Enjoy!

Morgana's strikes were growing ever so less efficient each time she attacked the dummy, her arms growing tired and her eyes blurring as tears threatened to spill over once more. She really didnt like crying, made her feel helpless and, while in this situation she really was, it didnt mean she had to like it. All she could do was wait, pray and hope that Arthur and Merlin brought Guinevère back safe and sound. Or she was never going to forgive herself. Her arm was protesting her continuance, so she paused and lowered her sword just as someone approached her. For a moment she was tempted to growl at them, she had no patience for idle gossip and if anyone even thought of reprimanding her for being down here right now, she was going to start inflicting pain.
But, as it were, it was only Sir Leon, who inclined his head respectfully and spoke. That was alright then. He could be excused. "I had nothing to do," she replied kind of abruptly, though anyone in the castle knew the meaning behind that. There was nothing she could do about Guinevère being gone. The Morgana paused. Gwen had mentioned to her a few times about Sir Leon and how she had grown up with him and were still, somewhat, friends. What must he be feeling about her being gone?
"I apologise for being short with you," she said honestly as she made her way over to the rack and put away the sword she had been using. At least she had let out some of her anger and frustration at Uther's dismissal of her friend. "Gwen told me she grew up with you," she added, partly out of conversation, partly to offer some aid. No doubt he would be worried just as she was about their friend. 'Please bring her home Arthur,' she prayed silently, the mantra that had been going through her mind all day.

"I am happy that the burden of worry over my safety can now be lifted," the dark haired young woman said, standing from her seat. "I do not wish to keep you if you have duties my lord," she added. She knew he had things to attend to, as did she, though he didnt know that, and she didnt want to be in his presence any longer than she had to. Lest she crack and spit something at him she wasnt meant to. "I think I might go for a walk."
While she would never profess to actually caring about what she saw, it didnt escape Morgana's notice that Uther seemed..... diminished in some ways. His face looked more tired than she remembered, and she would swear there were a few new lines around his eyes and mouth. Then again, Arthur had looked different as well. Time had passed and it was to be expected. She did not care whether or not those differences had been caused by her.
She would make mention of it to Morgause when she went to see her tonight. Her sister would be overjoyed to hear that Uther was already worn down somewhat. It would make breaking him all the easier. Arthur was the one with the fortitude, but Morgana knew he wouldnt be able to withstand her for long. She was his beloved adoptive sister after all, who'd just been rescued from hell. He would be easy pickings too.
Yes, a walk around the castle was in order. Let people see her returned and safe and allow them to relax. Lower their guard that little bit more.

It wasnt her fault. It really, really, really wasnt her fault. Wasnt it common knowledge among adults that you didnt leave things lying around within the reach of the smaller members of society? True, most people were taught not to touch anything they shouldnt, but really. When it was a pretty purple, and sparkling, and bubbling and right there, what else did they expect a twelve year old girl to do? And besides, she'd never spent any time in the court physician's chambers before. Gaius had always come to see her because King Uther refused to let her leave her bed if she showed any sign of any kind of illness or injury. She wasnt a doll that would break if touched, but her guardian seemed not to understand that.
But, back to the point at hand, it hadnt been her fault that she'd touched the bubbling vial of pretty liquid and ended up making it explode. It had splattered everywhere, coating the table, and herself, with a fine sheen of the stuff, but the explosion had also singed off most of what she considered to be her eyebrows. Of course, little lady Morgana hadnt known that at the time.
Gaius had chosen that moment to return and found her. He did that quirking eyebrow thing of his, and she simply stood there, chin raised, in the middle of the mess. Wasnt much point in denying it was there? With nary a word, the older man had sat her down, cleaned her up, and patched the small red patch on her hand before advising her it was probably best not to touch things in his chambers again, which she'd promised never to do again.
Then, she'd left and gone on her merry way, skipping along. Then had come Arthur. Oh, Arthur. They'd only been passing, he on his way to something or other, and she on her way back to her chambers, when he'd looked at her oddly. She'd demanded to know what, and he'd touched his eyebrow, grinned and opened his mouth to speak before being ushered away suddenly. When she returned to her chambers, she'd seen it in her vanity mirror.
She had no eyebrows! She was mortified to say the least, and had spent the last few days hiding out in her rooms. Her friend Gwen, who was also her servant, had been sympathetic and assurred her they would come back, and Morgana had vowed she was never going to leave her room until they did. Uther had tried to talk her out, and hadnt succeeded. So had Gaius. No luck. Nobody could get her out.
And only one person remained to try.
Arthur. And going by the confident knock at her door while she sat by her window announced his arrival before the doors almost burst open and in he came.

"Confidence, yes," Morgana replied affirmatively, nodding once in agreement. "It is the pig headedness and pride that spoil him for all good women everywhere," she added with a grin, meeting Gwen's eyes in the mirror. Morgana often found herself rolling her eyes in the court when nobles and their daughters visited. Even when the ones who weren't visiting were around too. Women seemed to fawn over Arthur, so Morgana had taken it upon herself to remind him every chance she got that he was not God's gift to women, and that she was not above telling said women all about him.
Gwen knew better than most about Morgana's dreams, and she knew that without her servant and friend, Morgana would be far more of a nervous wreck than she was. Gwen always came to her, hugged her and sat with her until the residual fear or anxiety faded and she could get back to sleep. It made Morgana feel a bit bad, taking up so much of her friend's time, but she would admit, selfish as it was, that she didnt know how she'd cope without Guinevère.
"I'd appreciate that, but I can't go to the events alone Gwen. Please, you cannot leave me at the women's mercy!" Morgana begged, half joking, half serious as she reached up and took one of Guinevère's hands. "If they're not fawning over me and trying to curry favour with Uther and Arthur, then they're looking down their nose at me like I'm competition. They're welcome to him! I just wish they'd leave me out of the road to get to him."

Morgana was lost in her thoughts once again, so when the door suddenly opened in front of her, despite knowing she had knocked and having to expect it somewhat, she jumped a little, taken by surprise as Merlin appeared. Another moment passed before she realised what he had said, and she firmly rooted herself back in the present.
"I'm sorry for just barging in like this," she apologised as she entered the physician's chambers, looking around her as she went. It was difficult not to walk into Gaius and Merlin's chambers without looking at anything and everything. The older man always had some kind of experiment going, or some formula bubbling about, and Morgana kept an eye out just in case anything was likely to explode. She'd learnt her lessons as a youngling not to touch anything in this room if you didnt want your eyebrows singed off.
Arthur had teased her relentlessly for weeks until she'd cracked him in the eye with her fist. Served him right though. He'd made her cry, so she'd made him do the same.
Realising her thoughts were wandering, again, Morgana smiled and turned to Merlin. "Oh no I didnt need to see him. I just found out you'd both returned and wanted to see how you were doing," the lady said, her hands wringing in the sash around her waist. She didnt know how to broach the subject of her dream, or if she should even bring them up at all.
"Arthur seems to be recovering well and I wanted to thank you and Gaius," Morgana finished, hoping Merlin understood her. She was far more observant than Arthur, and so hoped that Merlin and Gwen understood their relationship despite all their arguing. She was thanking them for saving her brother, Arthur, not just the Crown Prince.

Morgana might have been touched by his words, if she didnt know that, were he aware of her abilities, he would shun and probably even try to execute her. It was rather a heady combination to have someone be so honest with you, and have no idea that you were lying to their face. Then again, Uther had never really been the brightest of men. True, he was a King and intelligent enough, but he was blind to those close to him.
Her presence was evidence enough of that, not to mention all the things she and Arthur had done which defied the King without his knowledge. Like the Druid boy, and Arthur going after Guinevère when she had been kidnapped. Uther had no idea, and this time, it was going to cost him so much more than some dignity if she had her way.
"Thank you my lord," she replied, pulling herself from her thoughts. "I have missed you all so much," Morgana added, giving Uther's hand one last squeeze before she released it.

Despite her dislike of being reprimanded, and her slight feather ruffling at such an action, Morgana relaxed and smiled. She could see that Yassia really was sorry for the way she had responded, and the dark haired female patted her hand with her own. "It's alright. We are all under stress currently and need to be forgiven for lashing out. I myself have been doing it," she replied soothingly. Then she chuckled. "More than one of the guards have had to run away with their tail's between their legs because of me," she added, hoping to lighten the mood a little. She didnt want this to be a tense affair.
The new Queen didnt miss the gasp or look of surprise on Yassia's face, even as she spoke to the young woman. "While Camelot settles under my reign, there will be very little for the scouts to do. Normally they would accompany the messengers to other kingdoms, but I am planning to hold off on contacting Mercia and the other kingdoms until the dust has cleared," Morgana explained. She had already considered the other kingdoms and how they might react to Camelot now being under her command, but she foresaw no problem. After all, the peace treaty's signed wouldnt be under threat. "Once it has, I can be more definite in my responses and guarantees to them. I would hate to seem a liar in their eyes if something changes unexpectedly."
"So you need not worry about the scouts. I am sure they will welcome having something to do for the time being," she finished, her smile never slipping, despite the frown which had flickered upon her features every now and then while she spoke. Then she tilted her head thoughtfully. "Perhaps while you wait for word of your uncle, you could advise the scouts," Morgana suggested. "Tell them the best travel routes to and inside the kingdom, and the kind of information you would require." She nodded once then to herself. "It is easier to find what you're looking for when you know what it is."
