::vaughn:: Vaughn chuckled at her correction. "Well if you are saying you need aid with that, then how could I possibly refuse such a tempting offer." He could not deny that the thought amused him, though he knew that it was not likely to happen. He was not above entertaining the idea however, and acting as if he had taken her sarcastic words seriously. Her half dressed state was yet something else that made him continue to smirk. He imagined most knights would have turned the other way when they saw her bathing in the lake. Was she all alone out here?
He quickly pulled him away, moving them to the side so that they were out of reach. Since she was standing rather close to him, he leaned in a bit, his face just inches away from hers while he kept the pants firmly in his grasp, and away from hers. "And what would I get in return?" He asked in a suggestive manner.

::vaughn:: Hmm. It seemed that the boy was already in trouble. Vaughn still looked amused as the child darted into the stables one a man, someone Vaughn was assuming to be his superior, yelled at him and threatened him. Was this man going to pose to be a problem? If he was, Vaughn had no problem eliminating him. Maybe it would show the boy just how serious he was. But now, it was mid day and Vaughn was no fool. He could easily be caught killing a man, with all the public attention.
"Children. They are indeed rather hard to discipline," he said to the man, acting as if he had some experience with them. Vaughn did not care about them in the least bit. But he needed to find out if whoever he was, was going to pose a problem. Neav had already disappeared out of Vaughn's direct sight and he did not like not knowing what the boy was doing. Hopefully he would heed to his warning and not try anything, stupid. "I kept the boy. He was aiding a lost traveler." Vaughn did not take the blame out of compassion for Neav. He did not even do it as a nice gesture. It was merely for selfish purposes. How could Vaughn bully the boy if he was going to be busy all day and night with his duties? He would not get what he wanted if this angry man stood in his way.

::vaughn:: "I may have only met you twice, but it is like living two lifetimes." Had Vaughn not played this role so often in the past, he would have choked on his words. But no. He could pass them off, and he was passing them off. Of course, Alegra would not believe him considering that encounter they had in the past was less than pleasant, for her. "Nothing would keep me away from you." He said that last part, with a bit of an added flirtatious tone. Nothing really could keep him away, but for a completely different reason than the one they were all thinking. Because of the money. Because of what she would owe him every month or so. But he could not exactly advertise that fact now could he.
"So have you come with your family?" He asked, wondering if her mother was here, and even her brother. "I would so love to see your mother again. She is a dearly kind woman." He had indeed met her before, but again, not for the reason others thought. Everything he said had a hidden meaning to it, that only Alegra would understand enough to pick up on. To them, he may have met her mother as a potential suitor, which was indeed the lie they had told. But to Alegra, he met her out of sheer curiosity.

::vaughn:: Vaughn did not in fact notice that the top of her shirt was not laced up. He looked at it, and then back at her face, smiling, a sinister gleam in his eyes. "Would you like me to assist you with dressing yourself?" He asked, referring to the open shirt, and the fact that she had not yet had her pants on. She had obviously just been making sure she was covered in the necessary parts. But still. Vaughn was going to indeed have fun with this.
And suddenly a fish hit him in the face. And he heard the laughter of the woman. Vaughn did not move. He did not flinch, though of course it was a very undesirable feeling to have a fish smack you. He pulled one his dagger and stabbed it, still smiling at the woman. "There we go. Freshly killed dinner." He said it in a tone as if indicating that he was offering to cook for her. On the surface, he could be a kind gentleman when need be, but on the inside, he was anything but. "You do have a beautiful laugh," he complimented once again. He noticed her looking for the rest of her articles of clothing, and he noticed the pants on the side. Pants? She wore pants? No dress or anything more, feminine. Oh now Vaughn was intrigued. He went over and picked them up, now holding her pants in his hand. "Were you looking for these?" He asked playfully.

::vaughn:: He had not expected her to say any less than what she had. She had proven to be anything but submissive. And she had made it clear that her virtue was something she valued far more than anything else. And fortunately, there were some things that even Vaughn did not feel the necessity to do. "None at all? If only I believed you." He did not. Every estate had at least one, especially with a noblewoman in the house. She surely had a personal maidservant, one who assisted her with things that the male servants could not. "I would very much like to meet her." It was not a question or suggestion. It was something he wanted and if she would not tell him, he would use his own time to explore the castle and look for her. Why? Because it was yet another challenge.
"On second thought, why not let your mother sleep through the night." It would be morning in a few hours. "I will remain here, in your finest guest room, and dine with her and yourself tomorrow morning. I would hate to inconvenience her in the middle of the night." He was going to make a good impression, and it would only be more difficult to if her mother was half asleep. "In the meantime, give me a detailed tour of your lovely home."

::vaughn:: Well her friends seemed to scare easy. Only the men of course. The women seemed intrigued by their story and exchange of words. They were constantly flattering each other, and on the outside that would intrigue any romantic. But at heart, neither of them were truly like this. An audience for their play. "The only better reward I could imagine, is having a woman like you by my side." He said it with such sincerity. But that could not be further from the truth. "My lady, I would not want you to witness such disturbing things. Your purity and innocence is far too precious to me to allow you to be exposed to such gore and violence." Vaughn was laughing on the inside. Her purity. Innocence. Oh how he cared very little about them. After already had having made a good impression on her mother, now he was working to do the same with her friends. Why? Because it would be so very fun to win over their affection.
"To have you concerned for me is another great honor. But do not fear Lady Alegra. The thought of seeing you once more, would motivate me to fight through the most dangerous encounters and any wound that would result from it, as long as I was able to see you again, no injury is too great." He was being ridiculously cheesy, and he knew it. But the deliverance of his lines were that of a romantic. A man who enjoyed flattering women, but not in a perverted sense. In a genuine sense. "It seems that Frederick has not yet found a woman he cares so deeply about, and is therefore, unable to fathom or understand such feelings and words." He was teasing him. Not trying to provoke him to the point of starting a fight, but rather, just point out his decision to leave the group.

::vaughn:: Male servants? No. That would not do it. Vaughn wanted to have more fun than that tonight. He was trying to win over most in the castle, even the servants, and it was easier for him to be charismatic with the women than the men. "Are you not a servant to my will?" He said chuckled, reminding her that he had something against her that should make her more, agreeable to his suggestions and demands, though he had not yet technically demanded anything other than payment. "Do you not have any female servants who could assist with that. I would feel far more comfortable with a woman aiding me than a man. Women do have, much more of a softer touch."
He was after all a man. And when given the choice, any knight would prefer a woman to aid them. Of course, Vaughn could not be placed in the category as 'any knight'. He could not be classified as one for there were far too many differences between him and a typical knight. "A tour would be wonderful. Shall we do it before or after you send one of your beautiful, hand maidens to assist me?" This time, he was not asking for a female servant; he was expecting one. "Or if you would prefer to assist me, I am willing to accept that offer instead."

::vaughn:: "Precisely. Skill. Bravery. You must see all of these qualities when knights fight for their king." Everything Vaughn was saying went against his beliefs. He hated knights. He hated what they stood for. But he was saying it because apparently, tonight was the night of contradictions and lies. He and Alegra were putting on a grand performance for everyone. The only thing that made it the least bit regrettable was that no one would ever know just as skilled they were at portraying people they truly were not.
He would do a marvelous job indeed. He had at least not walked the other day. But just watched her. "I would indeed My Lady. To protect someone such as yourself would without a doubt be the greatest honor a knight could ever desire." Each word was spoken with sincerity, and yet for those who knew him better than that, it was said with complete sarcasm. It was no honor to protect her. It was more of an honor to blackmail her.

::vaughn:: "You mean you will not be tending to me?" He asked in an overly sarcastic voice that pretended to be shocked by her rejection. In actuality, he was not shocked in the least bit. He ensured his voice was not too loud. Instead, it was a low deep voice for he did not want others to hear. There may be servants lurking around in the hallway, though most seemed to be asleep at this late hour. He walked alongside her, slightly lowering his head to the side so that his words would be spoken near her ear. He kept walking and looking forward while he continued to talk. "You of all people know how difficult it is to remove armor on ones own." He had made that rather clear when he had just watched her struggle a bit before she was forced to ask for his aid.
His next words were spoken in an even lower and therefore, deeper voice. "I helped you remove your armor. I expected the same in return; for you to return that favor I granted you." He knew that he had gotten far more amusement from it, than she would get from helping him undress from his armor. Still. Whether it was a painful process for her or not, he would at least present the idea.

::vaughn:: Vaughn could now finally chuckle at her comparison to this event being as exciting as fighting off bandits. He of course picked up on her reference to their first encounter. The others however, may either be confused or amused at the odd comparison. "Well that all depends on who is fighting the bandits." She had fought them mostly on her own. Even though he had killed a few, it was only in direct self defense for himself. He had not been protecting her, and he did not feel bad for not having done so.
"Then again, a woman as delicate and fragile as yourself should not fight such dangerous people. In fact, you should not even have to encounter such dangers. That is why knights like I will be there to protect you." Yes, it was a common belief and assumption that that was what knights did. Saved the damsel in distress. She was not quite that, but of course, no one else knew that so he would play up her helplessness. "So do not fear my Lady. Even though you would be helpless against such opponents, you will be well protected by men like I."

::vaughn:: If Vaughn grew bored, he would leave. He had just wanted her to say that it would be better for him to stay. He still had control over the situation. Some may consider this as a burden. He saw it as very useful leverage. As they walked by the guards, he stopped when she did, and briefly introduced him as a guest. He smiled at them. "Gentleman," he acknowledged, slightly nodding his head towards them. As unusually kind as he tone had been, his was equally kind and polite. They would both have to act differently. He would have to be on her best behavior where as she would have to be civil towards him, even if she cared nothing for him.
"Beautiful home you have here," he said grinning as they walked down the halls. "As your guest, I assume you are a good hostess. One who will provide me with a nice hot meal, a warm bath, and fresh clothing?" He was really just playing up the role. Enjoying the fact that he was here, in her estate. And all because he had simply caught her at a bad time.

::vaughn:: Oh good god. This was absolutely wonderful. To see such a scene. To see the two of them acting this way. "My dear Lady, I did not lie. You merely presumed to know my name, and how could I correct such a radiant woman as yourself. No. I did not have the heart or will to do such a thing." That was not the reason he had not corrected her at all. But now, acting as someone he was not, he had to find the good in his actions if only to express them to others. Then again, he did not have to. But he wanted to. Because it was funny. Because seeing the expressions on her friend's faces was positively hysterical. Yet, Vaughn could not laugh at them. It would create more confusion than they were probably experiencing right now.
Seeing her blush just added to the hilarity of the situation. He had said far more, suggestive things to her and she did not even flinch, on the outside of course. But now, she was blushing over his overly kind words. "So are you having an enjoyable time tonight My Lady?" Paying the proper respects, concerned about the time she was having, such an act indeed.

::vaughn:: Vaughn followed her out of the stables, looking at the estate more carefully than ever now. He wondered if the guards would find anything unusual about this. Oh how he hoped they did. Vaughn would only provoke them, though never make the first physical attack. It would just be amusing to have even more defiance tonight. Then again, what if he were to get on everyones good side, so that he would be welcome any time, and take advantage of that. Yes. That may be more fun. It was time to put on his polite face now, as they neared.
"In that case, perhaps I will stay a bit longer. So that I can meet the whole family. Unless you would prefer me to come back at a more convenient time." Maybe he would surprise her one day. He would of course have to maintain enough of a distance so that her mother did not try to push forward any wedding of any sort, since it was all a farce to begin with.

::vaughn:: Vaughn continued to watch her, wondering how long it would take her to notice that he was standing here. He had not gotten a proper look at her, until she began to swim closer, her eyes still averted from him. As she grew closer, he began to find himself more and more fortunate. For all he knew, she could have been a child who looked mature for her age. But no. It was a woman. His fortune allowed it to be a rather beautiful young woman. Though wet, he still got a good look at her facial features, since from the neck below she was still submerged in the water. Fair skin. Beautiful large eyes. Perfectly shaped features. Yes. An exquisite beauty indeed.
When she finally looked up at him, clearly surprised by his presence, he just smiled, or smirked rather as she was not at all happy with him standing there. Not that he could blame her. How long had he been standing there? "Not nearly long enough," he answered, clearly enjoying the view he had, even now more so than before. How could he stop staring. He was a man after all, in the presence of a nude woman. Any man would be crazy to turn away. Had he been more of a knight, he would have shown more honor. But he was not. And so owed nothing that conflicted with his own pleasure and enjoyment. "How can one stop staring at something so, exquisite." As uncomfortable as this may be making her, he was in complete comfort.

::vaughn:: He smiled politely at each guest as she introduced them. He would remember their names. Not because it was important right now, but it may be significant in the future. And that was when she introduced him as 'Vlad', Vladimir. Vaughn just kept smiling. He decided tonight would be a good time to reveal his real name. He would after all, be referred to as Vaughn, Sir Vaughn, for those who knew him. Had this place not required seals and proof of identity, he would not have bothered with his real name. But now, he may as well. "Actually, it is Vaughn," he informed them, in a very polite tone. He glanced at her, giving her a quick wink, only quick enough for her to see if she was looking at him. "It is a pleasure to meet you all." Was it a pleasure? No. Was it interesting? The night still had yet to prove that.
Yet again, Vaughn held back a laugh. She was acting like such, a noblewoman. Then again, he was acting like a gentleman. There was nothing apparent about their deception, though the two of them knew it was far from the truth of their true selves. "Those hours of preparation proved to be very beneficial." He emphasized the words hours. He knew this was not her style. Not her scene. And that was why it was so funny to see her in such a position, acting like such a princess.

::vaughn:: "It would certainly not exhaust you any more." He said, chuckling. "Depending how hard you intend on working," he added, entertaining the idea. He dismounted from the horse once they got into the stables. It was a decent size stables, which did not surprise him. Considering the size of the estate, it was only to be expected that everything else was above mediocre. "No argument. No defense. Just, very well."
She seemed to be alright with the idea. Or she just felt that arguing would get her no where. Either way, he was looking forward to playing up the role, and act far more politely than he had with her. Or maybe not. He would first have to see what her mother was like. "So when will your brother return?" He wondered how soon it would be. Whether it would be worth waiting around the estate for. After all, Vaughn had no where else to be. He had no other obligations.

::vaughn:: Vaughn withheld a laugh. After all, there was nothing funny to those around them who were watching and listen to their conversation. But to Vaughn, there was something extremely funny in her words. It was because it was a compliment from her. It was something that though meant to be nice, he knew the actual message she was trying to get across. It was almost as if the two knew each other well enough to be able to talk in some sort of code or different language. "Thank you My Lady." He slightly lowered his head in a bow. He had never showed her this kind of respect before. He was mocking her, because of where she was and how she looked and so was emphasizing his by paying her the proper 'respect'.
"I hardly recognized you, considering you looked rather different during our previous encounter." When she was all clad in armor and then in her undergarments, and then a more simple dress. "But I must truly say how beautiful you look tonight." All he could do was smile. Not laugh, unless there was something to be laughed at. And not suggestive, unless they were alone or only were within ear shot of each other. Oh, this was too funny and holding in all his laughter was proving to be rather difficult.

::vaughn:: While Vaughn had no set destination, he seemed to spend a great deal of time wandering through the Forest of Balor. It was a dangerous wooded area that extended throughout Albion and ironically, was the place most frequently filled with entertainment. He had encountered a great many people here, so why not continue to travel through it during his aimless journeys. It was not night this time, and made the woods less ominous than usual. The sun would set in a couple of hours though, and Vaughn reckoned, depending on if his mood changed at all from now until later tonight, that he would either be spending the night at a motel, or in the forest itself. He did not fear whatever creatures lurked around. It was merely another easy challenge to overcome.
He was rather familiar with the forest and so knew where the nearest lake was located so that his horse could drink from it, as well as himself. He was leading the horse as this area was a bit hilly and far too awkward to go down on, mounted on the animal. But as he lead the creature, his eyes saw a rather interesting sight. On the ground, was a pile of clothing. Vaughn was at too great a distance to pick it up to see if it was women's clothing or men's. Fortunately for him, he only had to take a few more steps for his question to be answered. He heard the water splashing a bit, and in the river, was a woman. Not only that, it was a naked woman.
Vaughn smirked. He stood near the clothing, watching her every move. He just stood there. Not saying anything, not moving an inch. He had even left the animal concealed in the trees, as it rested under the shade. Vaughn watched her, wondering how long it would take her to notice his presence. Perhaps he would be really fortunate and she would only notice it when she was stepping outside the river.

::vaughn:: Her encouragement was delightfully amusing. "So why deprive yourself of that fun today. You have had a long and tiring night." After all, she was nearly killed by a group of bandits. "You certainly deserve some fun tonight." And he just so happened to be someone who was willing to help her with that. "I would be more than happy to assist you in that." He spoke those words in very much the same way he had offered to help her undress. The ironic thing was that he actually did end up assisting her with the removal of her armor. When he had first said it however, he had not expected to be in her company for that long. Of course this time, his suggestion was going a bit further than removing armor, so was therefore more unlikely. But still.
Vaughn was going to have fun making up a story to go along with his character of who she was going to introduce him as. "A potential suitor," he added just for pure amusement. "A friend's brother, who also just so happens to be a potential suitor for the dear Lady Alegra. How can your mother deny someone who has captured the interest of her precious young daughter." Really, he was just going to play this up as best he could. Throw out compliments, act all charming to win over her mother. It was so much better than something as simple and boring as a friend's brother.

::vaughn:: The night was still young, and Vaughn still had a great many people to meet. It was not because he was social. He loathed these kinds of events, but they would prove to put him at an advantage. Upon seeing all this royalty and nobility, and putting a name with a face, he would be able to recognize and remember most people here and that would be very useful in the future. For today, he would have to be Vaughn Adeney, noble knight of Lord Adeney and only representation of the family. He was not here to make a good impression, but he could not make a scene either as he did not want to be escorted out when he still had so much to learn and discover about all the royal guests, and the Pendragons themselves.
He walked in, after having taken a short break from the ball. It was only the first night of the festivities and Vaughn was already sick of the extravagance and show the Pendragons, and everyone else here really, put on. He was dressed in a dark outfit, with gold work on it. It was not too over done, but sophisticated and elegant enough to make him look like a noble. He was far too used to being in his armor, and did not exactly like the feeling of not having his swords strapped to his back. He at least had his dagger tucked in his boot, just in case. He could not go anywhere, completely unarmed.
His eyes scanned the crowd. Beautiful women. Vain men. Wait. Speaking of beautiful women, his eyes rested in a very familiar one. Alegra Silvertongue. It was her, and she was almost unrecognizable. She blended in with this crowd as she too had an appearance to maintain as the daughter of a rich and noble family. This was the first time he had seen her since his first, and rather long encounter. Maybe he would call for his next payment during the course of the next five days.
Vaughn grinned. She was conversing with some people. Oh this was too funny. He approached her, keeping in mind that he had to be civil, but still. He knew he would not be able to help himself. "My my, Lady Alegra. Don't you look positively ravishing tonight." His tone was not as suggestive as it had been in the past when he complimented her, not on the surface anyway. To anyone listening it was polite, kind, and flattering. But to her; to Alegra, someone who had engaged in a very long conversation with Vaughn and had spent a significant amount of time with him, she would know the underlying meaning of his words.
