The forest was over cast, shadowy. The crisp winter rang through it, causing a chill through the air and freezing with its icy touch. As Kory walked among it. Walked among this forest which seemed so many days, so many weeks. Perhaps it was even years and she hadn't realised. No it had not been years, it frankly hadn't even been many months. It be lucky if it had been even half a year, but really who was counting. As her green eyes looked to and fro. What reason did she have to be counting? There was little at the end of this path save a notion she was alive. That was the reason for any of this and the notion there were several other lives needing to be lived. It was a refreshing feeling and yet, Kory still had that tingle this forest was still filled of magic and not everything so nice. She wasn't scared, just pre-cautious. She had not reason to be afraid. She had her weapons if need be and what really matter her gut instinct to survive. It wasn't unusual to hear sounds of different kinds in and around. Sometimes the more thing to worry about is when it goes completely silent. Only for now, she did hear sounds. Sounds of screams. That rang from the west of where she stood. The caves? She contemplated. Stopping her dead centre, before she took off in the direction of the caves. She couldn't overly tell how many screamed, but it was sounding more than one at least. Who knew?
As she scrapped her bare calves on twigs along the way before she soon met the looming caves of the forest. Falling back to a walk. How many times she had come by this, only to keep on going? She couldn't truly say. There was hardly a reason to go in until now. Saw the faint light from within. From a hole deep within. Heard the screams so close and the movement within. There wasn't any other choice as she motioned within the cave. Keeping her movements as silent as she could as most of the cave was rather dark. Though with the faint light ahead helped her guide through. Until she finally came across the group of young teenagers, who were lucky to be any older than sixteen and the monster's flickering eyes around them. With the fire in the middle. Kory motioned behind a rock from out of sight. As she looked to how many eyes she could see and watched as the eyes motioned just a little that, Kory could now see their legs. Spiders? She had heard about them and now she was seeing them. Not just any spiders. These were straight out of someone's nightmares. Giant and looking to kill or feed. Good thing. As Kory motioned quietly for her swords one by one, Kory faced her nightmares. Head on. As she motioned to move, she caught movement just a little from her and moved towards it. One of the spider's victims. As Kory touched the forehead, the young girl woke with a barely there mind and breath. As Kory shhhed her. Realising it was probably her screams she had heard and was too late. Kory motioned to the wound at her torso, but finding there was little she could do. She hadn't the power for this and as her eyes looked nor much time before the whole cave becomes a slaughter house. As quietly Kory moves the girl to more secluded area. Tugs the water flask from her hip and pouring some down the girls mouth.
"Can you hear me? Just hold on, but I gotta help your friends or we all might die."
Kory whispered in the girls ear, with a gentle and reassuring voice. As the girl nodded faintly and let out a coursed breath in response. Leaving the flask by the girl and with a final stroke to her head. Kory motioned to get prepared. She would do what she could to save them all as stepped closer, before looking back to the girl if it was the last thing she did, she would save them all. Kory motioned in a more better position as the spiders etched a little closer. Kory motioned around silently and quick as she could, with her swords at one of the spiders. Taking it out by its legs and running a blade through its heart. Causing the spiders to halt. As Kory then made to the centre where the rest of the kids were. Holding out her swords in preparation with the spider blood dripping from the points. They halted for a moment, but the spiders began moving again. Somehow Kory could take these out. They were killable, which meant she could find a way. To do what she set out. Which was save them all. Find an opening enough for them to escape and survive herself if given the chance.

The day had only past half way. The sun was not quite near the setting stage. Although through the forest trees, the sun peaked just through. It was that lovely mix of shade and light. A breeze made its way through the path that Kory was walking through. There was no real purpose for this walk nor any walk before or after this. There was just no real place Kory was able to find that could ground her or make her want to stay. She was finding a need from help was vast it was well spread through the lands and most certainly not just in camelot. Although Kory did find Camelot a wondrous magical place. It always seemed to have something snapping at its heels. She gathered with this wondrous setting it left open for many the desire to capture or bring it down. Not that it really made sense not to just let a kingdom be. Yet the darkness always had a way of finding even the most well hidden of places. She should know. Valaria was very well hidden. She had yet to find someone since it was destroyed that even knew it's name. Nothing not even a flutter of a thought. At a time this was a dear and wonderful thing. For it meant the safety of the kingdom. But as Kory wandered these lands more or less alone. She wanted to do nothing, than shout the name across the lands. Make them remember. How could Kory make that of anyone? It was no longer standing and its beauty was lost in the rubble and in her mind. Her heart. Perhaps that was where it was most safe. Yet, still she felt it needed to be heard. Its falling to be known. To know such a place existed. To not feel like such a big secret. Perhaps in time Kory would find a means to tell people. Kory could smile for she could maybe control who heard about the beautiful kingdom so closely linked to a time long before her time. Before even Camelot was just dust underneath the grass.
This breeze that came to move her red locks around her bare arms and torso. Also came an echo. A sound. An alert. A call. Her destiny was calling. It seemed to come at least once a day and when she least expected it. Kory didn't hesitate. She knew her role. She knew she had little choice. Only choice was to help. Once in the situation the rest would fall into place. Kory motioned quicker on foot. A gentle run as not to give herself away before even having a chance to glimpse the scene. Kory was dressed the same as the day she was forced to leaving her falling city. A leather skirt wrapped tied by a single cord. It fell above her knees allowing for freer movement. Her feet bore simple sandals to keep her feet from accidentally stepping on a prickle or something worse. Underneath her skirt she had a dagger strapped to both her thighs. These were maybe her more best skilled of weapon of choice, it was best kept a little hidden. Her torso was bare, having a leather engraved top that covered her womanly area, cutoff sleeves and a V-neck which led down to the couple of clasps that held her top from opening. Her arms bore bands. Her wrists also having a little support and finally a collar around her neck of leather. Her entire was less than most seen upon women she was realising, but to Kory this was her. It was normal. For her clothes didn't wear her and there was just more to her than that. Her appearance was just the reflection as to how open she was, how she bore so much on her sleeves.
Kory halting just out of frame. Just out of the scene before her. There was about 3 men threatening a mother and her small son. He was maybe not passed 6. They were in a small landing just before a bridge that crossed the river below. It was a good distance below. In the echo of the background Kory could hear the waterfall that the river ran towards, but she blocked the sound out. She blocked everything out. Her green orbs on nothing but these men. Feeling the beating of her heart picking up. Kory motioned towards the group. Her hands reaching behind her to pull her two swords freely to rest before her in her hands. Twirling them before her torso. Feeling the flex of her muscles, it was enough to warm her up. The fire had already began to spring. As motioned closer. Their attention soon fell to her. They were at first taken back at the glimpse of the swords and an almost warrior like man holding them. Though as the men realised she was in fact a woman. They seemed to begin to laugh. Which caused Kory to smile as she motioned herself between the victims and the men that threatened. Then Kory drew up her sword to block the first attack. Pushing him off her blade, her leg came up to push him further back and her blades worked over time. As the attacks came at her from two directions. Feeling her blades moving in sync to meet their own. As she spotted an opening she signalled the mother and child to escape over the bridge. As she held the three men at bay or so she thought. As her eyes were diverted a blade came to her stomach. Missing her just by an inch. Kory jumping in time and span as her sword ran along the man's throat. Spilling his blood with ease as his body fell and the second man came at her. Her sword running into him as pushed it through his gut. Feeling her blade slide through his organs melting like butter. He managed to push her off and her blade slid free. The blood spilling. His blade running along her left shoulder blade. Kory flinched at the pain. Causing her body to cut short with her strength she twisted her body so as he came to offer another blow she ran both blades one after another across his neck. His head roll upon the ground as his body slid to its grave.
It was then Kory noticed the third man was not in sight and a scream rang from the bridge. That Kory turned. Blood dripping from her shoulder blade. Her blades dripping and smears of blood on different parts of her body. Yet her mind and eyes could only think of one thing. As the man had grabbed at the boy as they had run over the bridge. Stopping the mother in her tracks. Pleading to not take her son. Kory ran. Her rage to what he was doing caused her to use every muscle to push her forward. It felt like she was running for ages. Her feet hadn't realised the sound of them upon the wood and the gentle swag as she ran. How? Why? This was even happening. Didn't matter. Kory would make sure it is stopped. As it seemed her running was in slow motion. The man caught sight and let go of the boy. Kory's eyes nearly popping out of her head. As she could see the small child's body beginning to fall like a leave. It caused her speed to go as fast she could.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..... Hold On, I've got you. "
As she screamed that was ripped from her lungs. Her body sliding hard across the wood that it burned her skin. Her hand reached down and caught the boy. Her hand wrapped around his own little arm. She spoke strongly to the boy, but assuringly. Kory would not see this boy die. No. She couldn't. Not ever. As the tears seemed to peak at her eyes. Her heart shattering at the thought. With her strength she began to pull him up. Her entire heart racing until it seemed more at ease once his small frame was on more solid ground. Kory on her knees. Hugged the boy tightly making sure he was up and not about to fall again. Kory smiled to the boy that now stood. Her hands releasing as the rested firmly against just under his arms. Seeing an opening for him to escape with his mother. As the man had motioned behind her she could feel.
"You'll be fine... Now go with your mother and run... Run and don't look back."
Kory spoke strongly to the little boy. Speaking kindly enough, her eyes pierced his as she told him and his mother to run. She could handle this. Get rid of one more man. With one last smile and touch of the small boy. He gave her one last hug. Which shocked Kory. It really touched her heart and the hug was gentle and warm. Such pure innocences, with a last smile between them and boy ran with his mother. Kory relieved to know the boy was now safe. Her heart was still racing, just a little more at ease. As she re-grasped her sword. Then her lungs let out a faint scream as she felt a hand upon her head. Pulling her up by her hair. Twisting her in his grasp. That she growled at him her arms motioning to push his grasp off her. Then her leg moved up to really push her up. Feeling her handle of her sword ram up his nose and into his skull as he came back. Feeling the bones crack and the blood form. Which made him more angry. That he swung at Kory. She ducked her head and motioned her feet that her back was at the rope of the bridge edge. Kory with one last attempt motioned her swords to attack him. His weapon blocking her attack. As the weapons clashed. The man brought his own leg up to push her off. Kory feeling her feet being driving back, before she realised they could go back no further and slipped at the edge of bridge. Then Kory felt weightless. As she felt her body float down through the air. Watching the bridge falling in the distant. Kory had made an attempt to grasp the bridge, but it slipped through her fingers. She was falling. There was little she could to stop it.
"Ahhhhh"
Kory called out and beefore she knew it. Her body was engulfed into the rushing water of the river. Feeling her lungs filling up with water Kory kicked her legs. Her body twisted in the gushing water below the surface. Until finally what seemed forever. Her head popped up. Causing Kory to take a huge deep breath.. Her hands that held her swords were knocked out from the rush and they were lost in the water around her body. There was little she could do now. Kory tried to swim to the edge to try and find an escape, but the tide was strong. It was trying to pull her under as the water moved her upstream. It was then she saw the water stopping some feet ahead. A drop. A waterfall. She knew this was not a good sign. Her hands grasping at the rocks that she found in the midst. Though the tide kept trying to push her further. Until she found her hands began to slip. Until all she could remember was her head hitting it hard as the water pulled her under. Her eyes shut and Kory felt like she was in a black hole. As the rocks kicked her body up. The water trying to push her body over the coming waterfall. All Kory could feel was a gentle push. Her mind gone of the pain upon her head. The bruises and cuts from her body being scrapped against the rocks. She was pain free where ever it she was. Yet Kory tried so hard to keep hold of her heart. She was knocked out, but she had this fight inside. She knew this light she saw. What it meant. She wasn't ready to give up. No. She mustn't. Her time was not up yet. She knew this. There was more children to save. There was more people to save. No. She needed to survive. She had survived so much. So far. It couldn't all be washed away. Kory was trying to scream. Call out. Hold on in all that she was. Yet she just felt she was drifting further.

It wasn't so much a game to Kory, rather more just life. Though she was defiantly trying to make him out at least a little clearer in her mind. For now there was very little other than she hadn't much reason not to like him. Or not trust him. It was just her nature to seek friend than foe first. There wasn't so much in Kory that she had helped him in the fight just simply because he needed it. Kory did it because she could. Why would she just stand aside, when she could act. It really wasn't something Kory had overly thought about, she just did it. It was just not in her to sit on the sidelines. Her hand brushed her hair out of her face. Eyeing them both out. They really did need a bath. Covered in blood, sweat and dirt. Seemed more often these days. Kory smiled, which why it helped knowing where such places to bathe existed. For now she did not have a single place to call home. Or linger. For now Kory was everywhere. Searching just where she slotted in. It seemed only nature that it be at the aid of others. She wasn't complaining. These skills she had were a blessing. They had been set for when she would be queen, but that was long out of reach. With Kory's heart and knowing she could help. It just was the natural thing to do. She didn't really choose who she helped or saved. Who was she to say who deserved it? Kory's eyes watched his own upon her etching through her skin. Her every being. It really was only natural to try and understand one another. Was he maybe not sure why she stood before him? She escaped a laugh. She wasn't in any hurry to make herself disappear. There was something impressive about him. A mystery she herself wished to learn. She could use his company if he would allow it.
She wasn't what everyone expected of a woman. As she wasn't pretending to fight, Kory could fight and would. Just because she was a tough warrior, she was still a woman. She just wasn't every woman. She was kind and she was tender. Honest and Positive. Joyous. It just wasn't in her nature to be any other way. He maybe but a stranger to her now. How was she expected to know him if she was just played coyly. She had nothing to hide. Not that she hadn't made mistakes. Kory just wasn't so above herself not to admit them. Kory just wasn't so easily placed in a nicely build box. She did not fit in the so called slots. Did this mean every about her was wrong? Who knows? She was just who she was. Or at least who she was trying to be. Just like now. Her eyes could linger over him and easily admire him. Taking in how ever much she could. As her lips smiled. Build like a warrior. Was he in any of these boxes? She wondered. Not that there was anything wrong, at least it meant one had a placement. Though in Kory's heart believed everyone had something that defined who they were. Something unique and beautiful. As Kory wondered. There was once a time for some sort of placement in her kingdom. They certainly had their ways. They were much like her. Just a different culture.
It was something as Kory began to read these places. It seemed in the forest where she was most of the time. She had merely stumbled upon such places and people. She hardly knew where she was going. Lost just meant to her in ways freedom. How was she suppose to know exactly where she was meant to be. Such things had been overwhelming and at times it is just best left to just see how things unfolded. There was still tons she was left to really learn. All before her kingdom fell had almost been but of stories. It was entirely different now and these lands were vast. She was pleased Gael had agreed and followed her. There was few places she knew, but this one she defiantly did. Knew? Well, as much as she could. Still yes a lot to learn. It was oddly nice how he followed her. Kory knew it was out for the need of water, but she half felt a hint of trust. Just maybe he didn't realise it. In time she could earn, but yes it was all about time for these people. The forest was set in a nice light. The breeze was gentle enough. It was almost a rather still day. Maybe having something to do with the fight just before spooking the life around it. It allowed the faint sounds of their feet crunching on the ground. Allowed to feel him walk with her a little in zinc. There was a need inside to latch on to him. Her eyes lowered. It could almost be anyone. She just wasn't in a hurry to just let him slip her fingers. As her fingers now ran through her hair a little, pulling at the simple knots. It was maybe poor judgement to act so friendly and seek so much, but she was up to taking the chance. A chance she may sway him to even hinder a pleasant thought about her.
Kory lowered her head a little more again. As Gael spoke. Amusing her. Yes, perhaps she was asking a few to many. Maybe this was her coy side, causing her to ask so much, but she paid it more be out of excitement. Kory was open too all questions and she was merely open to ask herself. To understand perhaps. Though she had to agree she did load him with a few all at one time as if the battle had happened many weeks ago and slipped her mind. for it had. She doesn't linger very much in the past, just for the present. Kory's eyes lifted to his own as he had spoken and sought her out. It had seemed to struck something inside him. It may have intrigued him or well, maybe amused himself. Kory isn't after all that serious all the time. She is many things. Joyous is the main part. She did wear her emotions on her sleeves. They came and they went. Better than over thinking them. Her eyes softened and her lips smiled.
"I did, To bold of me? Though I am interested to know. Seems a good way to see if you are as good company to keep from what I've seen so far. "
Kory spoke light hearted to Gael. It just didn't vase her. Even in ways she had asked a lot of questions even in her own mind. It was just the direction of the moment she gathered. These people in these new areas were more closed off. Not as open as Kory and once Valaria had been. Her valarian charm so to speak. Asking these questions or any questions just seemed a simple way to understand. To extend interest. Well really to just start conversation. Which these days Kory doesn't get a lot, so which may have caused a few more questions at once. But the intentions had been good. Kory wasn't so above herself to poke fun at herself. Her emotions were much a ride in itself. Really as her green eyes looked to his eyes, she sort a conversation from him. Why give up a chance such as this? Everyone deserves a chance. So far she did like him. He was stand offish, he was from a culture all his own. It was fascinating, but here he was. Beside her. Something he just couldn't completely deny. Now Kory wasn't expecting they'd go skipping in a field of flowers had they been children. Just seeking a chance herself. Why shun away someone with little reason? Her eyes ran over his again as he spoke. Let how the words rolled off his tongue and played at her ear. It was a name she had heard of. As her eyes set away to look upon the path before them, as they got closer and closer. Whatever the reason. She liked he was opening up. That he wished to speak to her. Led her a bit down his world, how ever vague it had been. It was what he allowed thus far and Kory was pleased. She knew these kingdoms and lands almost as if they had been stories. They were real, but Valaria stuck by itself so much that it really seemed worlds apart. Caledonia. Kory smiled. It sounded beautiful off his tongue. Now with so spare time, this may cause for a visit. These tribes sounded almost so fictionally wonderful. Kory was always accepting of all. Not one to put an action on some one as a reason to judge the entire race. She was a little more well headed than that. She could admire the tone in his voice and the glance in his eye. Gael loved his home. His tribe. The land he was from. It was in ways how she would always love Valaria. Even at the thought her heart beamed, though knowing if she returned to simply rubble it wouldn't be an easy site to see. Whether Valaria stood or not, it would always be in her heart. She was Valaria.
"Caledonia? The land of the many tribes I was taught. Filled of passionate people seeking claim over what is theirs, Strong folk I've heard and now I can see it. I never heard it referred to as wild. How I was told about such places. Even Albion. Was almost like stories. Some fairy tale like and some well not so much. Just always seemed worlds away. What is your tribe like and called?"
Kory sort to sound a little like she knew what she was talking about. She had heard tales of Caledonia as if all these places were all surrounded by myths and legends. Valaria was just worlds apart. An ancient kingdom, that was well hidden. Known for its warlords. For such along time there had been peace in Valaria. Hardly any battles anymore. They trained still in the art of war simply more for tradition and ceremonial ways. It was the decent attacks that oddly started when her sister was born and later when her own sister took revenge on Valaria. That the kingdom saw war again after so long of joy and peace. They had dealing with other kingdoms, though those most closest but not as often as one would imagine. From what Kory had heard Caledonia sounded interesting. At least adventurous. Looking to Gael, she proud to have met one. She was interested in this tribe he was from. Kory lowered her eyes from him with a smile that slowly died. As her mind faded of the images of Caledonia. As Gael spoke of the lands they were now in. Kory could understand. She had heard of the rifts between places. The destruction albion had caused his lands. She still wasn't sure it was so right to blame the entire land for it. She was sure if he truly looked in these lands he would find others that would agree with him.
"They are also foreign to me. I've hardly seen it all, but there is good in these lands. I believe there is always good and hope to be found even in the darkest corner. Sure there is things wrong about these lands just as even in my own there was plenty wrong just as there was good. Though is doesn't make how you see it wrong. Albion I believe effected a lot in Caledonia, correct? So I understand the need to protect it."
Kory wasn't so sure how she was suppose to respond to his words. It was his opinion. Not her own. She saw the negativity in his words. Her nature called to see what was positive. Though if this is how he saw it no wonder why he saw nothing special here. The attacks she heard probably hit pretty deep. She understood that, but to blame the entire land was just not in her ways. She was sure even in people Albion would agree with him. They walked at a decent pace. Despite the little heat, just the fact they were talking was just pleasing for Kory. So her mind can think and just be in someone else's company. Soon the water trickled in her ear and soon the path met just a few feet from the water. It had that calm soothing effect. It was rather beautiful. Kory was half guessing it wasn't places like these Gael disliked so much. Though in ways places like these belonged to the land nothing more. Who would want to claim this? Seemed something best shared. Kory smiled. As stopped. His question stopped her more than just the water. It was something she barely knew herself. For there was so many ways to answer it. Even then how was Kory to know. Kory's eyes pondered over the question as her eyes shifted. Then her lips half smiled as he spoke of life. The difference is, Gael could return home. Where as Kory couldn't so much. Life. He just didn't know how much Kory valued life.
"I'm from Valaria. A very ancient kingdom that for many centuries had been left in peace after the wars that took over the kingdom. Many I have come across Valaria is but a myth. For me, Valaria was real. Like I said there was a lot of things wrong with Valaria. When my sister Kalysta was born it caused a war and eventually she was stripped of her position as heir. When I was born and made heir, she well she sort to take revenge on Valaria. Brought war to Valaria. Only would surrender if I was handed to her. My parents of course chose to save the kingdom and I endured the years of being my sister's slave. Some weeks ago, war broke out and caused the destruction of Valaria. I was able to escape with my life. As the kingdom fell around me. That's why I am here. Because I chose to survive. I value life a great deal, Gael. I survived so much and I just can't let what happened happen to another. Not when I can do something about it. I will always keep Valaria in my heart. "
Kory spoke of many things about Valaria. Or well a quick of what had happened. She couldn't know if the whispers of Valaria circled in Caledonia. Anything could happen. Though as she spoke, she could still see Valaria clearly in her mind. As if it was just yesterday she saw it last. It was her, it was her blood. She was of course more than just her kingdom, but it was very large part. She just needed to keep on living. It was more than just the destruction. For six years Kory was forced to live in a way well, it caused her to not see a great deal of Valaria. She was locked up a lot. Restrained. She was now free and tied with the fact her entire kingdom was gone. Kory was lost in ways, but she had so much to live for. She had a life. She had to live it. Had to use it. Save those who need it. She wasn't queen of Valaria, but she could find a duty to the people. If Kory could she would aim to save the world. So not to see another lose so much. Especially their lives, for they were so important. Fight for those who can't. Kory wasn't so much in sad speaking of Valaria. It joyed her to remember it. It just yeah, brought a couple of mixed emotions, but she was all for remembering it. Kory smiled. As if this was to able Gael to understand her more, but it could take a little longer than that. As her eyes then fell towards the water and motioned towards it. Feeling the breeze cooling her emotions. As it blew through her red locks. She bent down to the edge and let her hand play at the surface ripples.

There was no chance. Nay. Any chance Kory was going to let them harm or take the children. Her attention may have been taken, but she was well aware, where the children were. Though it paid Kory with some thought as it almost seemed for a moment. They were really aiming at Kory. As Kory's swords motioned to block their own, there seemed little of really getting at the children. Then maybe they were just wanting her out of the way. For that would not be an easy task. If any would ever be able to do it, Kory didn't know. She didn't think in those ways. She did not think ways of death. Not when all laid before her still. As Kory focused on the four that surrounded her. She could glimpse the movements of others in some distance behind them. Causing Kory's heart to race. She could manage to take them. She was sure. There was just no time to breathe nor think. Only really anger. She had shown these few mercy, now realising it had really fell on def ears. One of the four motioned at a possible blind spot, but Kory was quick on her toes. Her swords meeting his own. As another came at her back. Her swords worked between them. One after the other. Feeling them trying to push up against her. She just pushed back. As they found a moment to crowd her. Kory could feel her fire rising. Her lips quivered in anger. As her leg rose to push one of them back. Allowing the point of her sword run through a heart. The body hit the ground in a thud. As Kory slid her sword freely. Already motioning it back behind her to block the sword aiming at her head.
Her body turned and motioned. As to drive the bandit more. They were well skilled enough. They just didn't have the notion like a warrior. Jumping in the rush as he swiped at her legs. Landing in a roll across the ground. Throwing him off. As Kory motioned around him. His sword was met with her block. Leaving room for her second sword across his throat. Kory's chest heaved of her body being pushed to its limits. No rest yet. No. Must push through. As retracted to the others around her. Coming at her. With her body running of sweat, blood and tears. That had stained her cheeks just under her green eyes. As there nearly came the lose of one of the children. When she could she glanced at them. They were well enough back, least for now. Her left hand flinched. Turning the sword a little bit. She could feel the victory, but it wasn't over just yet. As Kory then stood her ground before the others on their pursuit. As she motioned to be at the ready. The motions behind them took some attention. Her eyes squinted as she made out bodies being thrown across the ground. Bandits fall in every direction. She could just make him out in the moonlight from above. He was in every bit of the word, grand. Her heart raced as she saw him take out the bandits in his way. Her eyes ran to the path behind. Noting just how skilled he was. It was wondrous to see. Though for the most part Kory was just feeling it. If there was any hope lost, Percival restored it all. Even brought a whole new sense of hope. Finding herself a little motionless at his doing. Her lips peaked of a small smile to see him. Kory knowing there was a great deal of gratitude towards him. Making a battle more bearable. Not playing over the kiss just moments ago. Having had a taste. A feel of who he was. Going into this battle together. It only made the beat of heart thud a little faster. Her eyes retraced the bandits before her. Distracted. As she felt Percival's pursuit. It was rather impressive to watch. As now Percival stood beside Kory. Somehow she felt stronger. Her muscles found a new sense of energy. Her heart did not stop, it knew the battle was soon to be won. Felt him alongside her in such a powerful way. Such strength and such will. She felt in his heart. Kory had felt it in her touches on him and even her eyes diverted still felt it. Still felt him. Despite the anger these men had caused. Who could really blame her anger? When such things like this happen. Anger is sometimes justified. For this moment Kory didn't feel so alone. She had merely met him.
Though in her heart of hearts, she could offer him a loyalty that could span a lifetime if possible. There was just something inside him worth her time. She wished to know. Wished to know him as her ally. As her eyes scanned his stance. He was someone she wished for as a friend, if time would allow it. It paid her with curiosity as her eyes wavered at his sword in its place. Realising he was just really the weapon. Her chest heaved at the shear thought of his strength. Such power and beauty. It was rather nerve shaking. She allowed a moment. As she could sense all this pure strength in his muscles, but she sensed a much greater strength deep within. This was a honour. Even though Kory knew she could fight on her own. She isn't one so tied up in her own pride to allow another to help. It bettered the chances. And really in the end, it wasn't her that mattered in the fight. For now the children mattered. Put aside pride and all above. Just fight for justice. Besides, Kory rather liked the team workings more than one would imagine she did. It wasn't after all really her choice to be so alone. Again she was feeling anything but alone. All down to Percival. A knight of his own heart, she pondered. Now as her eyes came to the fight at hand. They had but hurdles left. Her hands rang with the handles of her swords deep in her grasp. Percival's voice rang deep in her heart. Even without looking. She knew the hope he rang into all their tiny hearts. For it rang in her own. She couldn't thank him enough, but for now was the time of more strength and will. Though she turned her head to him with a smile with a nod. Agreeing. They would do this together and that suddenly made everything feel so good. So right. She could place all her trust in him and she knew it was worth it.
Kory's smile was broken. Her anger reawaken as the bandits left came on pursuit. Not fleeing? No. Still coming at them. A couple of them left. Came at them from around them. Kory motioned ducking to miss a hit and to come up with a blow to knock the man off his feet. With her swords either side of his neck. Cutting his life source. As another two came at either side. Though finding they were blocked before they pursued her. One just missing her head. Being pulled back allowing easy access for her sword work at his heart. As another seemed to fall at his will. Another came at Percival's side. Kory motioned her foot planted upon a back of a fallen Bandit and her own back rolled across Percival. Feeling as they were working in zinc and Kory caught the man at the side. Blood spilled across the ground. Bodies here and there. Kory soon felt herself pressed against Percival's back. She felt the bond through the essence of the fight. It was a bond not really known unless your in it. They were working in zinc. As two bandit came at her and a couple at Percival. Feeling it was very much now nearing the end. One charged at her. Her sword at the ready, with his shear force knocked one of her swords free from her grasp. Finding not left with much else than her second sword and well her own hands. Percival wasn't the only one that could use his hands. Well, Kory wasn't as strong, but she had been trained in hand to hand combat. As her hand with sword knocked the handle at his head and her knee driving up in his gut. Being pushed into Percival's direction. As Kory motioned and ducked again. Missing the sword. Her body spun around. Her eyes widened as to feel his next move. Ducked again. Turned and ran her sword across his torso. Knocking his sword free. His hands came at Kory's throat. Holding just firmly. As he aimed to choke her. Feeling her breath beginning to shorten, but her will only heightened. As her elbow worked to push him off. Before smack and he let go. Allowing her breath to be restored. Not allowing another moment Kory's own hands made at his throat, twisted it and snap. Broke his neck. Just at that a bandit was chucked towards her. Her hand reached for her dagger and ran it in his neck. As his sword had met at a spot upon her torso. She flinched in pain, as the scratch was deepened just a little more.
"Oh X'Hal"
Kory expressed as the bandit landed to the ground and she regained her breath. Her body heaved as her eyes traced whether this was now over. It sure felt like it. There was just that extra glimmer of hope in the air. As Kory turned to see Percival. Having had seen and felt alongside him. Make sure this battle had been finished. As her eyes first traced the children. Her heart raced with a smile. As her hand came to her torso catching the trickle of blood. As she motioned to Percival. Even though her mind had been on the bandits she knew he was working with her. She felt it. Her eyes traced the ground with the bodies. Her eyes traced the coming sunrise. It felt over. At least she thought it was. She motioned towards Percival to make sure he was unharmed. As her hand motioned for his arm if he take it. As her body now tried to slow. As she was covered in blood and sweat. Oh and some dirt of course. Kory had battled through the night after all. They both have and she owed Percival she felt it. Her eyes traced down as she just breathed as her hand was still at her torso. It wasn't something she even knew she was still doing. She was just doing it. Though she felt a relief. Just checking everything was clear before giving all hope to the children. Before Percival and Kory herself lead them back home.

There are so many Kory has come across in her paths along her life, having a perception of her and realising she was much more than that. She did little than being herself to prove she was much more. The one person she needed to prove, was herself. There was nothing utterly wrong with her skin. Was Kory perfect? Of course not, but she was as perfect as she needed to be for herself. To accept her. She was all that was something completely different to so many physically. She had that faint idea she wasn't the only one with this notion upon her. For in the end, we are all humans. A race living in the same world. Everyone as utterly different as the next. Who was to say one of better than the next or not strange. She was raised in a world filled of joy. To see the positives in the negatives. It brought a smile upon her face that she could come across someone she mightn't of expected, but this Percival seemed to see her quite clearly. Even perhaps a part of her that she didn't quite know.
As her hand touched his skin, she could tell him seeking questions and answers. Even that of her past. She would gladly tell him anything and everything he wished in due time. When the time was theirs to share. She had no secrets. She had no shame what had transpired. Kory had little control over what and how she came to. Yes, Kory had made choices that also led her fate. She half expected this was part reasons why she was even a live. How ever the case maybe, it mattered little, only that she was here and time was hers. To live for the now. Her heart feeling this entire moment. There was always several things to feel at once. Kory wasn't one to be overly pressured by them, just took them. Hmmmmm. Kory mumbled quietly as her lips moved against his own. Her hand upon his skin. Her cheeks fled of tingles. As her lips smiled through the kiss. Trust was easy enough to give, it was just another thing to take it. She felt the fire within her. Though for this moment it seemed they were but two, Kory still felt the fight before her. Oh, to have him by her side. As she withdrew. Her eyes ran over him with a smile as her fingers brushed his cheek. Just as she was about to let him go. His lips were upon her again. She felt something different in this, but just as sweet. For it was his own action and Kory felt it. She smiled as his lips ceased. Watched the gentle man depart with her fingers lightly upon her lips as she remembered the imprint he had left upon her lips. Feeling with a soft laughter escape her breath. Her eyes looked away for a second before looking once again where he had left her. Then Kory vanished herself within the fight. Within the night.
Bump after bump the cart rolled fast over the path. With the faint echoes of the children through the distant forest. Kory was still upon the edge of the cart, just balancing. Her mind heard the children though tried to not focus too much on it so to distract her too much or tear at her heart. Her arm followed through with strike after strike. Upon where the wheel joined upon the cart. It wasn't easy and it wasn't overly quick, but it was working. Chipping her way through the wood, the connection began to weaken. The cart began to wobble. Then a jolt. Kory was half way there. Before her sword fell again to a strike. A slash. The wheel gave way. Crumbling upon the path. The cart felt the shift change, there was an uneasy to the base. The corner of the now missing wheel bend the cart some ways that way, but not quite. Kory then climbed back upon the floor of the cart with decent enough ease. Before she made way for the second wheel. The children had escaped an extra reaction to the jolt within the cart, but they soon settled to more of the quieter sounds. As they watched and seemed to put all hope in Kory. For she had given her word, her hope to the innocent who were so easy to believe her. It was fair to say they would almost believe in anything. Then that is the mind of a child. Such a wonderful thing to process and something one wishes they could hold on for a lifetime.
Before long after come in with her strikes upon the second wheel. It was already causing more of the cart to go off centre a bit. Kory's muscle were feeling the slight burn after all the blows she was having to take, her skin glistening with the sweat it had caused, but her spark that drove her kept her pace going. Every motion causing her wound upon her stomach to drip a little more, but it was nothing she couldn't handle. Numb, numb to the pain. Only had her mind upon this wheel and soon freedom for the children. Every blow across the wood she felt one step closer. Her eyes darting to the path just a second, before stopping upon it as she caught the sight of the tree that blocked their path. It was looming and the cart was heading towards it. immediately Kory began hitting the wheel harder and faster. Causing a deep use of breath to escape her body. Using all ounce of muscle she could. There was not even a flutter a thought she would stop. Moving faster and faster as the tree came closer. Then seeming almost just metres before hitting the trunk. The wheel finally gave way. Kory expressing that time to finally breath. Oh, finally. She motioned the children to hold tightly upon the bars of the cart as the top half landed upon the ground with a rough crash. Tearing bits of wood the flew through the air. Kory was quickly jumped from the wreck. Feeling her heart a little more at ease for the children were now one step closer to being free. Free. Yet, she knew time was of the essence. There were possibly still quite a few bandits that hadn't fallen. That would soon realise the cart had been missing. No, they were not out of the clear just yet, Kory needed to act fast and really secure their safety. Kory motioning to the doors of the cart slashed her sword against what had it locked, flinging the doors open.
Kory let out a smile towards the children that had bunched together during the crash landing. They seemed worn out, white faced, their eyes tear cried, but now they had that glimmer of hope really there. They sort for this safety they saw in Kory. It caused a stirring in her heart as her arms extended towards them to coach them out. It wasn't much needed, the children soon found their way out, with a gently guidance of Kory's hand. Kory's eyes ran over each one checking they were unharmed. She was pleased to see no real harm had be done. She motioned to lead them to a more secure place as she expected Percival was still somewhere in the camp, needing of assistance. A signal they were free. As she even began to turn. Kory felt her stopped within their tracks. Her hands extended as to stop and protect the children. As her eyes found some five bandits at her wake. Kory knew this wasn't going to be so simple. She knew this was every chance. That when she thought she had found an opening another closed in. 'Hand us the children and we'll spare your life. No need for this to get any messier' The bandit in front demanded and trying to bargain with Kory. Bargain with these children's lives.
"No, I will not let you take them. You'll have to come through me."
Kory spat the words. How dare he. How dare any of them expect Kory to just hand them over. Did they not think she had gone this far to simply just give up on these children. No. No. No. Kory shook her head. Her eyes raised a little as the anger grew. She would manage to take them out, they would have to come through her. Swords and all. As her hands extended out. Before long she would have them on their back truly remembering this day as the day, they failed. That Starfire persevered. 'So be it' The man cried out with a deep chuckle and motioned the men to come at them. Kory's eyes focused, she hadn't taken notice until the child had gone past the corner of her eye. One of the children had been spooked it dashed out of the group. Quickly being grabbed by the main bandit. Kory frowned in anger. Steam throughout her body. Also concern over the child. When she set out to save the children it meant every single one.
Kory knew the strength in her. She knew she could pin him down. She motioned with her swords. As he grabbed the child. Out of the natural reaction. Until his own sword came at the neck of the child. Causing Kory to halt within the spot. A chill washing over her from head to toe. Of a serious concern over the child. Knowing if she steps closer it meant the life of this child, but also without taking it, also seemed to mean the same thing. The child's eyes sprang tears as the metal just hit at the skin. She could see, feel and hear the shear fear from the child. Kory's face softened with a faint sadness of her own with that faint shock. 'Move any closer and I'll end the child's life... Swords down. Down now. On the ground. Unless you wish to risk his life?' The bandit demanded of Kory. Causing her hands to flinch with her swords. That thing where she knew she was stronger than this. She wouldn't surrender. OH, but as her eyes looked upon the child. Her hands trembled. Her lips parted with a gasp. Her eyes watered as his sword seemed to move closer causing her to flinch again. Almost begging herself to just jump across and rescue the child. This was not so simple. She knew she still had a choice to save the child. To save them all. Though to attack now, she knew this was a bad choice. With all that she was, Kory bent to one knee. Her eyes upon the child as she knew this was what was driving her. As the pains shot through, she placed the swords upon the ground. Her eyes capturing the child before retreating for a moment upon the ground.
'Good, very wise move. Now, get the rest of the children' He called out. Kory could feel his eyes upon Kory as if he knew her. As if he thought she would give up that easy. No. Kory smiled as her head was still low. She knew at all cost she would get them out of here. Kory had simply showed the motion of surrender in order to give herself a better chance. As he had ordered the others to grab the children. Kory's eyes moved back up to land upon him with a fierce anger within her eyes. It was swift as swift could be. The man's eyes had diverted upon his own men as Kory's hand motioned under the hem of her skirt by her thigh. Took the handle of her dagger. In one swift motion to her feet and motion with her hand. The dagger flew through the air. As Kory did not hesitate. There was a very millimetre of this shot. Kory knew that and she took it. At the point of her dagger. Landing at her target, between his eyes. Falling behind upon the ground, dead. His sword loosened and slide from the child's neck. OH. Kory's face softened as the child then quickly motioned towards Kory. Kory Falling to her knees once again as her arms came around the child. Embracing with a hug. As her hands then moved to be either side of his face. OH. Her breath gasped as her eyes fled with a couple of tears as her lips smiled. Her hands upon his skin softly. Her hand guiding him back towards the other children still behind her as her eyes followed. Then retreating back to the four bandits that still lingered. They were half guessing whether to attack or if this was worth it now. As their leader was down. So many of the men down, it was seeming clear the battle was in Kory's and Percival's favour.
"If you wish to end this madness, I bid you leave. Go. Go now. For your cause is undoubtedly lost, you may just simply save yourselves, or die at my swords. The choice is yours?"
Kory slid her dagger back in place as her hands regained her swords as she motioned to stand. Her voice carrying to these group that lingered behind. Her voice was gone of much of the anger. It wasn't quite soft, but just a decent firmness. For she offered to keep their lives. As she motioned back in position to guarding the children with the point of her swords. If a battle they still wanted, then so be it. What kind of a hero was Kory if she couldn't offer the choice of life when she knew taking the lives were probably not all well justified. She could see the doubt within their eyes. Who was to say this had all been entirely their choice and not that of just one. What ever the reasons it didn't matter. They soon grew nerve. Kory had offered them the chance, but they didn't take it. Instead of life they seemed to choose death. She motioned her arms for the children to stand back. As Kory then positioned her swords. She was sure she could take on four. Feeling the rise in her chest that glistened with the sweat and the shear determination. No fear. She needn't no fear. Just persevere. As the first strikes came at her, she met them with her sword. Soon both swords. Spinning as another bandit came and blocked between hits. She knew the safety of the children was there very near future, she just needed to be in the moment now. Fight, fight, fight. To fight for what was right and just. Her body showed of the shear leaps she had gone through tonight. The sweat, the bruises, the blood and the shear peak of her worn muscles. Her breath heavy. Her hair quite untamed, but still lit in flames. Her eyes upon the targets. With any messages her body was sending her that it was wishing to slow up, Kory pushed through. It didn't matter what actual strength she had. It was just a matter of pushing through. After all pain is temporary. There be plenty of time to think about it after and to rest. Feeling most of her strikes had pushed these four back, but she had also felt them push her back. Causing her to wish to hit back harder. More keen to put an end to this. At all costs. At any costs.

The net had descended into the air with a nice whim. It had for the most part done it's purpose. Well, so Kory hoped it had. It at least worked whether it caught what she had in mind or not. It had worked. Although as her eyes traced the sun that peaked through the trees above, it had been a descent amount of time, but really would Kory expect it any less. She lightly shrugged it wasn't important now. What was? What wiggled above her head? Or in this case it seemed whom. As her eyes looked up above she couldn't quite tell, but as the voices came Kory realised her mistake. To whom ever it was above her, she had not intended to catch any humans. Rather a different kind of species. Of course. Kory's eyes that had read curiosity was now reading concern. Oh no. Kory rang through her mind. No, this was not how she had planned. Her heart fluttered gently for she hadn't meant to cause harm. She was hoping they were badly hurt from the net, but by what she heard she figured not so much hurt. Well, Kory softly laughed for maybe a different hurt for one of them.
Kory's face lightly softened as one of them spoke and it then caused her to wonder who they were. She found it oddly lighthearted that one would find amusement out of this, so she was getting the idea they were at least rather harmless. Though as she looked more carefully she could see the glimpse of red and metal. Ah. It rang to her head. They were knights. They had to be. She felt like hitting her head for her mistake even more now. Kory just stood for a good couple of minutes as she took the sight in. Could see a rather fair headed man gaze down upon her. Kory grazed her eyes over him more in thought as he seemed with such authority. Such power and strength. Yet as Kory gazed at the communication between the two, the man seemed well? Just intriguing to Kory. Then Kory escaped a light breath of laughter for she was quite intrigued by them both. As the man gazed down they aimed at her swords, which Kory held out, now she lowered them. Geez, Kory rang through her mind what the knights were thinking this was. What an impression to make in Camelot? To trap two possibly quite renowned knights of Camelot. Kory was hoping this would be able to be settled rightly, that they would understand the mistake. She was rather all was trying to help another in need. Not simply in the sport of catching rather fetching men. Although Kory wondered if this be the go. Was this really the time to joke? For this could mean a sword or more at her throat if they did not take heed to her apology.
Oh, was Kory standing a little too long? Were the two knights above getting a little too close for comfort. Though who is Kory to judge what lingers between two men in a net. Although by the feels and the looks of the fair haired knight, she gathered it wasn't a pleasant thing for him. Kory's eyes then rang up and broke her stance. As he spoke with quite command. Kory nodded faintly. As she regained where she was exactly and that she needed to get these two down. There was something in the way he said that with such authority. He must be one of the head knights. The one the rest look up to and tremble. Kory flinched her sword in her hand. As her head looked to the side. There was little ways of letting them down so easily. There was only one real way and that was to simply cut the cord. Kory dreaded a bit with this fall, but it was better than just leaving them in the net. Surely it wasn't that high that it would really cause a lot of damager.... Although with all that armour could be quite heavy. Kory quite hesitating, it needed to be done and sorted. Kory then nodded more with effort as Kory motioned away a bit to where the cord was hooked to the tree. Kory struck her sword at the cord. Splitting the cord in half.
Kory then slipped her swords back upon her back. The last thing she wanted to do is come at these two with swords in hand, that wouldn't help their thoughts as to why she had netted them. Sure she could convince them it was simply a mistake.
"Are you alright? I'm so truly sorry. Please forgive me for my mistake. Are you hurt?"
Kory motioned back to where she had stood underneath as she spoke for once they were back on solid ground. She expressed her deepest apology as her eyes searched the ground for them both with a gentle shake of her head. Kory face then softened as she asked if they were ok. It was the least she wished would happen out of this. As Kory then motioned down towards them as her hand reached out to the one of the men. Not wishing to all of a sudden scare him to death. Just show she was sincere. As her eyes looked to him and to the other knight. As her hand motioned to touch, her eyes continued to check they were alright. She knew she was maybe the last person they expected to be setting a trap and there was all the reasons they should assume she was out to get them. Kory just was as gentle as she was tough. It set her a part from a lot of male warriors. She was still quite a woman, just well. Not one so easily defined. With that she then wondered just whom she had caught. Such interesting characters for Knights. Surely from the glimpse she just saw, they were interesting men as well. Who were these men? Who were these knights?

The wondrous moments were always precious for Kory, one never knows when they slip through your fingers. When does one know when you will ever have the chance again. Why wouldn't Kory accept him? As Kory gazed up at him, there was little doubt that she could take from this. There was something in the way her fingers lingered upon him that Kory felt the tightness in his breath and the lightness in his eyes. It was all tenderness to her. This was her. She was who she was. There was little she could muster in her mind to act any differently. His actions before had been falsely positioned and Kory realised that as soon as she was able to. Forgiven him for his mistake so he could forgive her. One doesn't go down a path unable to change it. Kory did not see many paths at this man's feet that would make her turn away, not so suddenly anyways. Kory was as loyal as she could be. At times her trust can get the best of her, but to just go through this life on edge, just felt like one wasn't living.
Kory wished to feel it all and be present. Her fingers traced down his armour with her eyes... She may have forgiven, but she had not forgotten. No, how could Kory ever truly forget? Her sister. Oh, Kalysta. As the moment the image passed her mind, Kory's eyes showed a memory of sadness. It wasn't regret, it was just a distant memory of the path her sister had chosen. For so long Kory believed Kalysta as much as the next could change her course and Kory still now as her fingers latched at his armour wanted to believe it. It just, it just wasn't that simple. The life of her sister the direction it had gone hadn't started out entirely Kalysta's fault. Kory knew and felt the blame her sister had put upon her. Kory knew better than to even blame herself. It wasn't her fault none of what had transpired had been Kory's fault. She knew that. But Kalysta in what heart she had truly believed that, who was Kory to say her own emotions were right and her sister's were not. Kory let out a deep breath out in thought and she could feel his eyes down upon her as her mind was in thought. In all this Kory felt a desire to still love her sister, she had forgiven her for as much as she could. But love? Kory was sure she still did. Trust? Ah, now that Kory wasn't so keen on. It's sort of that notion after touching fire you get burned and you never play with fire again. She knew of the black heart that lingered in her sister, Kory deep in wished Kalysta would still be able to change her course. She knew there was every possibility. Though the moment Kalysta took revenge to the next step, she pretty much sealed her fate and sort enemy with her own sister. How had she put it? Oh that's right, Kory had made the mistake of being born. Kory may have forgiven her for her words and her thoughts, but it still edged at Kory's heart. For she couldn't say she could ever think the same about Kalysta, she was her sister still in the end. Yet, she had made that choice. Her fate to be her enemy. Kory was sure she knew what she would do if she was presented with that choice. It wouldn't be easy, but if it meant saving the world, she could do it? Kory shook her head slightly. This was nor the place and nor the time.
This moment and this situation was far too important for her to just be half absent. Kory needed to be present, not sent back into a past long gone nor in a mind space that was anywhere near, Kalysta. Kory's hand was still upon his armour, but light and still unsteady. Her fingers had toyed at the metal pieces as her mind had wandered a little and continued as she was brought back. Her lips regained a smile. In all the suffering that had taken Kory's life into, this was nice to have. A moment just like this one. Kory knew there was always hope. Even in the direr moments. Somehow as her eyes tracked back to his she saw hope within him. Hope within her. Her life before was gone, Kory accepted it. Kory was still alive and in a direction she had not so much chosen, but she accepted it. Kory wanted to live. As much as she could. Life was too beautiful to just throw away. She could find a new place in the world and new people to share it with.
There was something special in Percival that she knew it was meant to happen. She could sense he felt the warmth as well. For Kory had little in her world. She could offer to save the world, but she knew she was capable of so much more. That a hero like herself deserved their own space of time. To Enjoy life. How could one save a life? If they didn't live their own. Kory smiled again for she would happy to find the time for Percival, there was all the time in the world. Just not for now, Kory knew that. Life was just all about Karma, you give in order to take. She looked off a little as she smiled softer as she could feel his soft reaction to her laughter. It was a nice reaction, it was possible he was smiling. Oh, oh oh, yes there it was. Kory's eyes danced kindly. Then shut gently as his hand encased her stomach. Causing her muscles to flinch at the slight sting and the soothing feeling he gave her. She found her hand run over his forehead just out of instinct. Even in everything he was gentle. This Kory liked. Though with this gentle nature, he had a strength about him. He wasn't so easily pushed down, just maybe a tad undone. Kory smiled gently as her hand ran off and returned her hand upon his own. Feeling a bolt seize through her own body as she did. It wasn't so sharp, just warm and inviting. Kory just smiled as her hand rubbed his own as her eyes looked upon his as he heard her words. Her eyes frowned in curiosity as he seemed to question her words. Then quickly melt away, it was rather an awe moment to be witness of. Kory wanted to know him and didn't plan to run. She wasn't easily scared off. What ever the reasons that brought him here and caused her to see what she could, she wanted to know the cause of these to understand it.
"I have all the faith in you, Percival. I know you will not fail."
Kory spoke to him as he was now beside her and her hand clutched to his own arm. Her hand pressing more firmly as her eyes dug into his own. She knew the strength inside him and he was after all a Knight of Camelot. But Kory was quite sure she was simply speaking of the man inside him. The warrior that sang in his blood. For in the end even a knight has themselves in the end. Kory's eyes froze as Percival spoke of keeping her safe. It had not been expected. Her heart seemed to ring at the notion. She knew all the ways she could easily take care of herself, but somehow she found this endearing. She actually believed his words. Though her eyes looked off a little. She just hoped it wasn't so down to the fact that she was a woman and more because she was a person worth protecting. Her hand ran over his cheek in reaction and feel. Her eyes sort to see something else entirely within him and felt herself becoming lost herself. She ran her hand down and brushed her thumb at his lips. She smiled as well with her eyes.
"In the moments that count, I will protect you with my life. Take care, Percival..."
Her eyes danced between his own as she spoke. For as much as he would protect her, she would utterly fight to the death to protect him and she knew this to be the truth. As her thumb brushed him lightly as her voice spoke soft and kindly. From her heart. Then as she spoke his name, it rang out is pieces in her mind. There was little that was driving this that she really did not see it coming. It was all down to this once defining moment. From this oath made between them and soon felt her lips descend. Deeply upon his own. Just one deep passion filled of all the emotions they had caused. Kory had no idea where it would lead, just knew she had to take the chance and her emotions had driven her much to do it. It was more than just a kiss out of lust, but out of tenderness and friendship. She knew he'd see this out and Kory was sure every chance the same as her. But as she gave him her oath to fight to the death for him, the kiss was basically the truth of it. That if it may come to that, then she wanted him to remember her. More she wanted to remember him. Though she knew her will to live so it would take a lot to hold her down. The Kiss was mainly her own reaction to saying such things. It really was true. Then it seemed for a moment everything had gone still and yet everything made sense. As her lips moved. Her hand pulling him in. Yet she was still fully aware of what was happening. Soon her lips returned and she let Percival go. With her oath very much intact. She was a warrior and a hero for the world, that meant Percival as well.
Kory her swords in ready and preparation. As the first one came at her. Cut him down in her path. There was little chance now to set the children free. Risking their lives now would be murderous. They be lost within the battle. She could hear the onslaught at the other side where Percival was. Though as her eyes looked around she could feel the battle closing in on her. Luckily with the distraction with Percival they came at Kory in a healthy amount for now. Kory motioned her swords in suit and blocked and struck. Cutting in her path. Allowing only the scraps on her skin. As Kory fought upon one another came from behind and just ran the sword along her back just grazed, as Kory motioned to run her own sword across his throat. Kory had felt the shearing pain, but she had use it to push through. It was just another scratch. No means to stop now. As she leaped upon a falling man's back she flipped and landed between four men. Her swords going to work even in the air. Where one came, Kory was there. One knocked her hand and caused her to slip and was given a cut upon her wrist. Another upon her shoulder, but Kory persevered and took them out. From the emotions that drove her. There was no way she was backing down. No. Which as her anger grew. Then grew. She turned to look as the cart had began to move.
Kory froze for a second as it was being driven out. NOOO. Kory mumbled. No. Her eyes looked through her brows that had become heavy with anger. Her muscles tensed up and flexed out. Kory then took no time to run after it. Though she could see a faint blocks in her way of a man here and there. Kory motioned her sword in time. This was cutting the time down a little, but Kory was moving pretty quick and on Pursuit. Kory soon fell passed the men in her path for now. The cart wasn't moving so fast yet, but enough it was well, moving. Kory used her strength and agility to find herself alongside it. Used a branch that hung from a tree to use as leverage to jump. Her arm reached out and using her feet upon the trunk. She soon had her hands upon cart. Though her hand slipped and her body fell a little. Her feet just skipping along the ground as the cart motioned. Kory found her regained position and climbed up. She could hear their screams and cries. It rang through her heart, used it to get her to where the bandit was driving it.
Elbowed him from behind as she motioned and as he came back. Kory had run her sword through his back. Her eyes looked down upon him with such anger she hadn't paid all attention. As the man fell to death his hands that held the reins slipped from his hands. Kory's eyes shot out her head as she leapt to take hold with her hands, but it was too late. Her face read of the concern as the reins fell and the horses bolted. Yet, the cart after had picked up faster movements, was not stopping, Kory with one last ouch of anger towards the bandit. Chucked him off. Kory was left there wondering how to stop the cart. There was little help if she jumped out in front of it. It would kill not just her, but the children. Her eyes looked up ahead, so far this was travelling on a path, but Kory feared there be something in their wake. It was needing to be stopped before it crashed. Kory looked back at the children, she heaved in heavy she could get them out of this.
"Don't worry. I'll get us out of this. Please, don't be afraid. I promised to get you all safe and I will keep to it."
She knew it. She knew the strength inside her. There was always a way out. With that Kory twitched her swords in her hands. Wondering if it was possible to cut the cart down in its place. Remove the wheels? It could work. There was four, two either side. All she had to do is remove one on either side. The last two should stop it from crashing completely. Kory breathed. It would be tricky but if done right and quick, it could work. Kory then looked over the children, she had little choice. She had to save them at any cost, even if it meant her life. They were to precious to not be given a chance. So Kory made of quick to start off at one wheel to try and cut it off. Feeling her balance as much as she could as she was at the side of the cart and trying not to be bounced off. It was hard wood, but Kory could manage. As long as she kept up with the strength. As the whatever was up ahead in their wake was looming before the cart and the bandits camp was still very much in sight behind. This wasn't so easy either way, but Kory had been dealt with this. She needed to persevere. To be the warrior and hero she knew she was. This was why she was a live. She lived for this.

The night was filled of echoes, all different kinds and Kory was feeling most of them, if not hearing them. Her heart played to every note. Her eyes could see as well as they could through the moonlight night. See this man before her. Her lips curled to a smile as her eyes once again loomed over him. He was something of a kind, she had not met, then everyone is different. There was just something that made this man stand just a little further out to Kory. There was a gentle presence within him. He held such a strong and courageous stance. There was hardly a hint there was much pain bedded within. Though she could see the softness and the gentleness quite easily. Kory turned her head slightly as she found this exhilarating, that he wasn't really trying to hide it and nor trying to shame this part of him. Her lips softened as he was quite sweet just from the look in his eyes. She felt him move under her touch, she had never felt someone move as he did. There was a hint as she gazed up to his eyes, that he might be coming undone, just a little.
There was a flinch Kory caught that seemed almost in freight of her touching him to deeply. Then there was maybe something he wasn't so keen for Kory to see. Not that there be much Kory would be so easily turned away from. What ever it was, it made who this man was and whom Kory was admiring for these seconds, that seemed to last. Kory was just finding herself more drawn in with every emotion she was finding, wanting to sooth such pains he was maybe trying to hide and not make him so afraid to who he was. To accept himself, as Kory was beginning to do. Kory's chest rose heavily as her heart fluttered at his warm closeness. It was comforting in all the right ways. When the mission is all said and done. Kory wasn't so sure she would be content to just let him slip completely through her fingers, there was something here. Oh, Kory had been so alone for so long. It was maybe her false hoping, but then Kory just always sees the positives. Not so much the negatives.
Her fingers coiled around his armour, though hard and thick, she could still feel the movement beneath. Her eyes played upon where she touched so tenderly and then worked up to watch as he let out a breath. She felt it from move from her hand and watched with her eyes to escape. Her heart fluttered a little more, it was a very intimate and yet tender moment. These emotions were so raw. They were fresh emotions as one could get. Kory then smiled a little more as he seemed to then relax a little, allowing her to touch him, but she felt the little stirring of his nerves and the possible goosebumps that fled up his arms. Kory wasn't so much seeing the hero inside him, that was rather easy to see, but she was seeing the man inside him. Admiring him for all that he was and could be. What she could feel so far. His presence was barely from him being tall, but it did seem to help. Causing Kory to smile a little, but she wasn't so below him, that she couldn't reach him.
Kory was still feeling the need to clutch her heart, as within her stirred so many emotions. Raw and fresh emotions. She was barely understanding, but accepting them, for what she is. For what she could see in him. He was just something else entirely. She smiled again as her green eyes shone through the moonlight. Her chest still rising heavily as she escaped her own breath that seemed to have been building. As her hand ran a little more over his armour. Breathing in deeply and escaping as there was something about this small gesture that seemed to move her and him so well. She escaped a soft laughter as she could feel her every inch of skin feeling as she was inside, feel her limbs shake a little. Her hand moving a little unsteady, but not desire to break so sudden.
Though when the moment came, that she placed his hand over her navel. All emotions shot up even higher. She seemed to almost melt. There was just something warm and comforting about this. It was a simple gesture, but it was driven by something that was a bit deeper. Kory let out a breath as his skin met her own. Her lips smiled more, almost feeling her mind hum at the soothing feeling. Her skin ran of different kinds of tingles and the hairs on her neck stood up. Yet, she still felt in no hurry to stop it. She smiled brighter as she caressed his hand, feeling his grip deepen almost. Encased in her skin. Her eyes watched as the man seemed to feel and react to every ouch of emotions driven from this. Kory's belly stirred a little more and her eyes watered. Perhaps she could find a friendship in these lands. She smiled for she knew she'd probably press such a thing, more than he might like. It was just her nature. To nurture such emotions. To nurture such a bond, not to crush it before it even began to bloom. There was a notion as her heart seemed to play at his own. He was feeling these intense emotions. Of such tenderness.
He was seeing her for who she was and simply in awe. This helped her stirring. Just from seeing and feeling how he saw her. It was very breath taking. She was being surprised more and more. Then soon coming to the conclusion, she shouldn't be so surprised. He was just being who he was and Kory was just simply in awe herself, that he was letting her see glimpses of him. Rather deep glimpses. Kory was strong from the inside out. Not that she is without flaws, but she just accepted them. Didn't find them so strange and accepted herself as much as she could. Her eyes frowned a little as she read his concern over his face, as his hand melted her wound. Kory felt a little extra touched, her lips escaping as even through little things he was making her see him in another gentle light. Kory smiled very softly as her eyes played upon his, and she reached out her hand once again. Finding a little more deeper hold than last time upon his cheek. Trying to sooth him of any concern. This wound was nothing. Just nothing compared to even the slightest fluttered he was simply making her feel. The wound was nothing. It was easy to bare and Kory will bare it. Still she was rather smitten at the notion of his concern. How his hand caressed warmly at the skin, it flinched a little as her wound felt the gentle sting, but Kory was quite just numb to it. A lot more pressing things to feel all at once. Wow. Was simply in her mind as her emotions were trying to get the best of her. Just as her hand fell deeply on his warm cheek, Kory felt herself drawn closer. She let out another breath as she felt the space between closer. Her hand moved to feel the skin a little more, that now it was just her fingers upon the skin. Just moving a little gently upon his skin. Her eyes shut for a split second as the motion before him, caused his hand to encase her navel deeper. Almost feeling his hand within her skin. This strength in his hand was simply compelling, as Kory's fingers played as her eyes saw all the gentleness inside. Kory then looked down from the cluster of feelings being given and she simply smiled a joyous smile. Her cheeks blushed ever so lightly. Kory was hinting he was slightly undoing her, but she was figuring her own emotions, were also quite to blame for it.
Kory still with the joyous smiled with her eyes looking down, soon tracked back up as he spoke his name. She only smiled more and more softer. As her palm then again came to his cheek as her fingers now played at gently upon his ear, hair and neck. Feeling almost feeling him deepen within her touch. Her head nodded very stilly. PERCIVAL! And with that she felt her breath leave her slowly, the sound was everything she knew it should be and he was Percival. Oh, she now knew his name and she felt that make her feel more important. There was something tightened. For they were reading so much into each other, by the gentle touches and raw emotions. The giving of names, just seemed to almost sweeten it all. Also, her heart seemed to sing Percival for a got while as it fluttered every time she spoke it back within herself. Her eyes read more important expression to him as her lips smiled gentle, for it was very important to her. His name. Just who he was. He was important to her now. Kory let out a soft breath of laughter, so there was maybe little now that could break this bond, she was seeing.
"PERCIVAL. Hmmm, impressive as the man that bares it... I already know, I am in great company... "
Kory spoke then smiled again as her hand caressed his cheek. Feeling this fight by the end, they would probably walk away in an even deeper bond. There was something to be had here. In this battle they would win. It was almost that underlining question? If they could battle this, together. What else could they battle? Kory smiled again. For she was all for finding it out. Let this all unfold. She was already feeling she could trust him and not just how she felt his warm hand still upon her. Though it helped. There was just that simple desire, Kory wanted to trust him and just from simply looking into his eyes. He gave her all the hope she needed to. To trust him. To be honest with him. She was not thrilled with the situation the children had been in, but Kory was almost excited to go in this with him. The matter of having each others back and seeing how this trust can evolve. Yes, Yes. She was happy to take this mission with him. Oh most defiantly. Her face looked upon his softly. Feeling her spark re ignite from all corners of her emotions. Allowing the hand on each other to deepen. Allowing the last escape of heavy weight on their chests. Feeling the raw emotions build into something, almost quite amazing. Quite compelling. Something that was just quite, Percival. Kory smiled again as her head moved down. Feeling it almost hard to return her hand, but she did.
She was strong enough, despite how strong these emotions were, there was something more important at hand. Saving the children. Her heart that had already leaped over huge bounds, leaped even more. It was maybe an awe thing to see, Kory feeling and expressing so much emotions. Not many could maybe bare them. For Kory they were never really something you get use to, because emotions are always changing, but it was really something. She was. This was who she was. This was how she was raised. To not be ashamed at who she was nor what this meant... Her race was Joyous, willed and filled with passion. It was heavy road to take such things, but Oh, Kory would hull them every split second in her life. All these emotions were worth any pains they brought, for they brought her to moments of clarity. Being able to just let others in. To feel so much. It was intense, but it was a feeling Kory very much liked. Just not easy to explain, but then who can really explain themselves, let alone why they feel how they feel.
As Kory motioned to look around the tree she felt Percival close behind. There a notion of goosebumps tracking her skin, but her mind was now on the target at hand. Like always, Kory just was open to a lot of things. It was intense to be like this, but it was worth it. There hadn't been many moments as this, when Kory felt another on her side. Beside her. His presence was strong, powerful and so comforting. Feeling being so close to him, was just easy going. It relaxed her, she still felt in awe and her emotions move. He was just so inviting. If there was a friendship to really come out of this, Kory would do all she could to honour it. To be able to call him her friend. Which Kory already saw in him. As he spoke. Kory nodded at his words. Was is they already just slipping into a bond quite already sealed in fate? Kory wasn't so sure, she believed fate was much a choice and Kory defiantly chose this. So fate it was.
Kory's eyes scoured the camp before them. Taking note as much as she could. It wasn't so much in trying to plan this, as Kory doesn't so much plan, she just reacts. Though she knew this needed some clarity before taking full action. It involved the innocent and oh, as her eyes seemed to just jump back to see the cart. Their little frames shadowed in the moonlight, but Kory could just make them out enough. She motioned her one hand to hold both her swords, as she found her hand grab at Percival. Rested her hand upon his arm, as the emotions sought to roll through her like a faint train. Her head shook gently for they needed to stop this. They need to be the heroes these children needed. They needed to be the saviour, when no one else could. This was not the time to second guess nor hold back. She felt her heart race for the children and as her eyes took sight at what was coming. She felt the fire inside very much alive. Oh, it was so much power, there was something to be said as she grasped his arm to help to try and balance it out. It wasn't to stop it all. She knew he had a heart similar to her own, it was comforting to share this. To drive off of what drove him. Though in the end, Kory had herself to deal with.
Kory's eyes were upon the scene at hand, intensely. She wasn't sure she could even forget this, but still she needed to be sure. She was soaking this all up. To be who she was needing to be, Kory. Starfire. Then Percival's words broke through her concentration. It was much needed. Kory looked to him and then to the guards he spoke of. There was no doubt, she could take them out. She nodded. Feeling her mission with more of a target now. She was about to ask what he was going to do, then be spoke before she could. Her eyes ran over him as he spoke of taking care of the rest. She wasn't entirely sure that would happen. To just let Percival take care of the rest, but Kory knew now wasn't the time to argue. Besides She had no doubt he could handle the rest. She'd happily play it out as he had said, but Kory still wasn't much for planning. So she was prepared as always to do what was needed to be done.
"I will not fail, Percival. Nor will you... We came to rescue the children; we will at any and all cost."
Kory's hand deepened around his arm, feeling the shear strength underneath. As she turned her position to speak to him. Assuring him she would not fail. No, not tonight. She wouldn't back down and she wouldn't quit until their goal had been achieved. The children were set free. Her hand then motioned to his cheek as she knew he wouldn't fail. She read his will, his fight and his passion. They had come to fight. To win. It was more than doubtful they would simply give up, it wasn't a notion Kory even knew nor had. She was sure it was the same with him. There was something in her still wishing him, to be careful. She knew he was brave and skilled. He'd do more than fine and come out on top. Still she had that flutter of caring for him. Her hand reluctantly removed as Percival motioned to step away. Kory's hand was still extended by some means, as he stepped away it caused her wanting to not go so quickly. There was something in this, but Kory knew it was down to caring for him. She had just found him, Percival. She was sure letting him go for now, didn't mean forever. So Kory let him go, despite her emotions rolling around in protest. She knew she'd see him again. Soon. Her eyes watched him fade into the shadows. Her eyes trying to keep his image, so her mind wouldn't forget so easily. Her eyes then sought to the ground before slowly tracking back to look upon the guards. What was this? Kory wondered at. She wasn't sure she needn't to be so surprised that she had a hint of missing him, even so soon. Kory lifted her chin, for she would be able to feel his brilliance in this fight for the children. There was honour in this, for sure.
Kory then motioned herself on foot as well. Moved behind the shrubs that lead near where the cart was and the guards. Her eyes looking through the plants as she could see the cart becoming a little larger and the guards a little clearer. There was about 5 lingering around. 3 mainly were the closest. She was hidden well enough, but she made use to flash her appearance. Just enough to draw out attention. Kory's eyes for a moment saw the children more clearly as she came out in the open for a moment. Then she motioned back, with a smile as a man came to see what it was. Alone. Which would make it easier. Kory hide behind the shrubs and watched as he came through next to her. Once in close enough, Kory motioned her arms up, both of them. As she motioned from next to him and brought the strength in her arms against his back. Causing his body to topple over and meet her knee as Kory drove it in his stomach. Causing the man to let out a muffled lose of breath and pain. Then Kory knocked him on the head with a handle of her sword. The man falling to the ground easily, with a thud.
Kory repositioned to see the other guards. They had then grouped together as a couple questioned where did the other go and they could't hear anything. He should have come back out for now. Kory smiled as two were sent to investigate. Kory twirled her swords in preparation. If it was going to go, 1,2,3 etc, Kory could deal with the numbers increasing. No matter how many, she could find away. The two men stopped to see the man upon the ground Kory had put there. They drew out their swords as they motioned to see. They were about to set out an alarm, but Kory stepped into the picture. Behind them and ran her sword into one of their backs. Her hand upon his body to slide him back off. The other then was facing Kory. His sword came quick and Kory was just fast enough to block it. Causing a faint sound of metal. There was a few strikes, blocks here and there. As Kory found her motions were causing the man to step backwards, until he tripped a bit and Kory took advantage. Ran her sword to the hilt through his chest, before drawing it back out. Causing a flow of blood that ran down her sword. Covering her hand. He soon fell. Kory looked down below him. This all seemed easy enough, but Kory knew full well, this was barely the beginning. She motioned back to see. Then left her spot behind the shrubs. Using the shadows and the dark. She leaped through the plants and behind shadows. As Kory found herself eventually alongside the cart. The children spotting her, were not expecting her and were a little over joyed. Kory smiled to see them all still alive, most unharmed. Though she pressed her finger upon her lips, to keep them quiet for now. Soon there would be time for them to laugh and be over joyed.
"Shhh... We're here to rescue you, just stay calm for a little longer. No need to worry, I promise you all will be safe very soon."
Kory whispered to the children to the children through the cart. She could still see them shivering and sobbing. They were scared, as children should be. Though Kory smiled a little to see her words bring a little light to their faces. She had whispered enough, but she knew it was heard at least faintly. She heard the two guards near the cart motion to where she was. Kory then darted on another side of the cart. As the men saw nothing but the ground bare. Kory then stepped out from the side of the cart she was at. Using the shadows and her speed. She came in flashes of red. As her swords ran along one of the guards. Taking a couple of strikes from different directions with in the shadows. Before she finished him off, he had motioned to the other one, to set out an alarm. His body soon fell, but the other, made motion for the other bandits. She could hear the battle already beginning to come over. She could only imagine where Percival was. Kory had her swords at the ready for the onslaught about to come her way and to make sure they win this fight. Set the children free.

For what seemed to be the longest time of the world being turned up side down. As it was merely seconds that Kory's body was bundled up against the rocks. She had somehow clambered the rocks at the edge. Though she hadn't had much time to realise until she was knocked out. There was little after that Kory really felt. She saw mostly black. She did feel the tinniest feeling as her body scrapped against the rock until somehow her body popped up to the surface. Her hands barely grasping at her swords. So limb was her grasp. So limb was much of her body. Still Kory had that one last thing that the darkness could not seem to hold. Her heart. There was somehow a thought still in the present. Kory somehow despite the darkness, the stillness and the quietness. She somehow knew where she was and what was happening. Not exactly. She just knew death was trying to snag her, and Kory wasn't ready for that path. Not now when she had barely lived and barely fought to protect. What use was she if she was washed completely away. All that she was gone as quickly as the waterfall.
As her mind started to come around. Kory's eyes blurred at the blue above. Believing she was almost still under water, yet she felt herself floating. Well, floating and being pulled. This pulling was getting faster. As Kory slowly woke to her realisation that her eyes were looking at the sky above. Kory groaned as she felt a heaviness around her head and the pull. Her eyes looked around her and she was in the river. She really was. Kory was still a bit dazed until the rushing came to her ears. The sound of the water. Her eyes looked through her feet that floated before her. Her eyes widened ever so slightly as the water stopped and dropped. Kory then became more alert. Pushing through the pain in her head or even her body. She could rest afterwards, once she was set free. To be captured again. Only it was really vastly different. Kory put her feet back under herself finding it difficult to swim she was beginning to find as the water was resisting against her body. Then a sounds of a splash by Kory's head. Causing Kory to jump as if her mind wasn't already a bit frazzled. Her eyes narrowed down upon the branch. As she was as much as she could trying to stay alert. It was when she heard the man's voice. As the water was pulling against her and for a moment to look at the man, Kory stopped swimming.
Grabbing around the branch just in time. Almost feeling it slipping through her fingers as the water wished to carry her, but with an extra push through, Kory then took a good hold of the tree. Kory hadn't really any desire at present to really worry who the man was. He was saving her life, there wasn't much else needing to be known. Not now. As Kory felt herself being pulled to the edge through the lapping of water. Causing the harsh breaths to course through. Then there was that natural feeling in her body from the tad feeling of being weak to just sink. No, Kory rang through all her muscles. She knew she had to fight through this. This was merely an obstacle needing to be jumped over, not through. Kory hadn't taken much of a glimpse of the man. For everything was much in a rush from the effect of the water and the ever circling of her head.
Kory pushed herself through as she felt she was getting closer and closer to the edge. The man's image still blurry, but there was a sweet glow about him. Kory had a feeling she had not met him before. She escaped a laughter as this was generally the case. The laughter causing her to slip, but she regained her grasp upon the slippery branch. Thinking this really wasn't the time for this. The motion being pulled to the edge was making her head spin more then it was from being hit and mostly drowned. As her hands were almost so close there seemed to be an extra currant in her last efforts. The water then rushed and lapped at the branch. The water then rushed over Kory, her face and her mouth. Finding her eye sight getting more and more blurred. As the water rushed faster and higher as she got closer. Until the rushing caused the slip of her hand. Kory grasped tighter with her other hand. Trying with all her strength to pull herself from completely falling.
She was so close, just a hand away. Her mouth coming up one last time and she thought she had betted it. Then even more water rushed over and Kory felt her hands free. As her body felt like a light feather as she sank at the waters edge. Her hands reaching out to the surface, Kory tried to fight through, tried to swim up, but only causing her to sink faster. As her eyes could see the glow of the sun peaking through and the blurry image of the man. Her hand so close to the touch it almost seemed. Kory's lips seemed to form into a smile. As her lungs also soaked up the water. Feeling her mind slowly fade again. Kory tried to fight back, but from the last attack of the being knocked out, it was even harder now. Somehow her hands had regained the handles of her swords. This couldn't end like this. Kory just didn't have much ways of stopping this. Not now. As her body slowly sunk. Then she gleamed as her eyes glanced to see the image of the man one last time. If she couldn't save herself, then maybe he would. Was he even a man? Maybe he was what X'hal had said would come at between worlds. Either way in this no matter how fearless and brave Kory was. She was even if not wishing to be, rather helpless. Trying so hard to keep up this fight to survive, she was never going to give up. She would give anything, not to simply die alone. No no no. Kory screamed as nothing than bubbles came out. Causing water down her lungs. As her head began to fade but her hands continued to put up the fight to bring her up. For air. To breathe. To simply breathe and survive. There was an ache in her bones, her head, her skin and her every emotion. It caused to survive, to keep fighting and to rise above. There was a sense of fear trying to snag her, but she was doing all she could to not allow it consume her, to not let it show. In all this she would not lose herself completely. In all this, she needed to remain that one thing she knew she was. Kory. Once beloved daughter of Valaria and beloved hero of Britannia. With a heart of fire, that burned for everyone even greater than herself.

It was Passion that had driven Kory to this position. This state of mind, her anger. Her need to get justice. To be the hero. To be the warrior she knew she was. Kory did not sit on the past. She did not dwell of what was or could have been. What was in the past was not able to be changed. No, Kory lived for the present. She knew her future and her destiny would be fine. There was no reason to fear it, just accept it. To not think about the past and the future, to be present in what was, now. Thus the passion and every ouch of emotion she had driven out or this man had forced out. She was feeling herself in the present. Her heart, her mind and soul lived for now. She let her emotions come and go as they were intended. She was a hero.
It was not about her. She fought for the people that were wide spread across the lands. That's who she was fighting for. That was the sacrifice. She was to well gone into her emotions and her target in mind to never stop. That Kory she could feel this man, his skills and his strength. Yet, she just wasn't focusing on how she couldn't over come these. She didn't over think her weaknesses, it would mean she would be surrendering. That she would be making excuses. As she felt the force of his weapon she felt did feel his strength. All these strengths and passion she felt through his every block and attack it had just edged Kory more into an anger as if only driving her to fight back harder.
With everything that she had felt gave her the strength and will to pin him. It wasn't so much her strength had overpowered his own. For there was all the chance he was ten times stronger. It was something more. Something deeper. Kory knew full well that a fight was not about who was stronger or what was someones weaknesses was. It was matter of pushing through and going the extra mile. The will. That no matter the hardship you would still go on fighting.
So now as she felt her back pressed against the tree and knowing all and everything that had transpired. Kory knew now how wrong her attack was. It was a choice she had made and it wasn't a matter of taking it back. For Kory knew she couldn't it had happened, but it needed to be forgiven and move on. Kory's hand now clutched at her heart. She was still so sorry. These emotions of her apology she allowed to come. Kory couldn't be ashamed at who she was, how her heart could care so greatly. Even as she had just moment before tried to cut his life short in some form through the anger she had still done it out of caring, caring for the children. Oh as she clutched at her now disrupted heart. As she saw his eyes at the moment at her words. She now knew why he seemed taken back at her words. He was here on the same mission. He had made the same mistake she had.
Gently Kory let go of her grasp at her heart and slowly let her hand fall. Her eyes that were seeking the ground below then tracked back up to his eyes with so much thought and curiosity. Her eyes darting left to right over his every feature. Trying to get more of an idea, who he was? Oh. As her lips came into a light smile. There was just something she was feeling. This was maybe more of what she had hinted from him moments ago. There really was a gentleness that loomed over him. They were here together for the same purpose. They had the heart of a true warrior and compassion to save the innocent. They had also come to make such a grave mistake. Kory could now for a second and feel that they were similar. There was a passion he also had. Yet, as her hand gently touched his skin. Kory could tell quite easily his passion and hers were vastly their own. They had these things in common, but he truly was his own man. Kory escaped a slight breath of wonder as her touch lightly played upon the gentle roughness of his jaw bone, his cheek. Through it all, Kory just felt a warmness in him. As her fingers just at the graze to feel his pulse. This caused the race of her own and the wondrous flow of her blood safe inside. As she read these sharp emotions from him. He seemed to feel such pure emotions, but there was just something about how subtle they seemed. Kory's emotions as it was clearly shown were not so subtle. There still even through the subtleness she could feel his were just as strong and true. She liked this. Kory liked the feeling of another person's emotions. She thrived off of it. To feel how another moved from within.
Kory led her hand just lightly run down his skin as she gently felt as his skin melted into his armour. Her eyes slowly tracked over as her hand moved. As she quietly admired this tiny moment. That she thanked X'hal again to be given the moment to see for who this man truly was. Kory then smiled again with a hint of more joy as she was now seeing him and feeling him just enough. Wow, fluttered in her mind harmlessly. As she felt his emotions. What drove the warrior within him. He was more than just a man. Her eyes then moved back to his with extra add to her lips as she regained back her hand. As now that she looked in his eyes, she could feel him see her. Really see her. He could feel the emotions caught at her heart and just at her tongue. She hadn't been able to speak for she was having a hard time describing just how she was feeling, but she smiled a little more as it seemed he needed little words to read her. It was maybe a little daft of her to be reading a little to much into this all right now. For he still didn't fully know her and she barely knew him, but still there was just that notion now. Where once they had been blinded, they were seeing with much clarity now.
Oh. Kory silently gasped. Caught from the mere gesture he made. It lingered her eyes to water. As she felt his hand move to her stomach. His kindness was so touching. She had not expected it and she was in no need to stop it. Kory was just flattered that he cared so greatly. It had truly caught her by her breath and stopped her emotions, then caused them to flood her entirely. There was maybe no way she could express just how much she got just from his selfless act to care. She felt his apology and in forgiveness all in one. Oh, she was just so taken back by this all. Oh, she was beginning to feel the moving past the apology stage and more towards forgiving part. The small wound upon her stomach and upon her hip did not play heed to her mind. It was a pain she could happily take. Whether it was by his hand or not, just his gesture was still just breath taking, it gave him this gentle beauty about him. Kory held no blame over him. Not for the attack and not for the wounds his sword had made. She forgave him for the choices he had made, Kory would not hold his past mistakes over him. For in it all she had made choices all her own.
As his hand moved then Kory saw his reluctance, for he did not only care to sooth these and possibly try to take all pain away. He also cared for her reaction, he cared if she minded his touch and it made her, escape another gap of breath. 'Oh' she mumbled just enough that it was almost a whisper. As her eyes brimmed. She smiled a little brighter as her cheeks glowed just a faint pink. Expressing he brought her just this great hint of joy. Kory placed her hand over his own to allow him the guidance to her stomach. Oh. As her belly stirred much deeper than where it bled at the surface. She felt his every inch of his kindness. Accepting his warm touch. Allowing to let his emotions come as he had intended to offer and Kory was all to open to accept any and all emotions he offered. Letting him know she had already forgiven him. To truly ease him and let him be free of any guilt or regret. These marks across her navel and hip she would just take with care, a reminder of who this man was... Kory smiled a little more warmly as her eyes had lingered where his hand now laid upon her navel. As her own hand laid over his. Her thumb just lightly caressed his hand. As he offered his words, Kory's eyes then moved back to his own and her eyes deepened at his expression. How he spoke. Oh. She silently gasped again. These subtle deep emotions he had were so compelling. So. So real and true. Kory was taking them gladly, it was just so overwhelming Kory merely miss some of the emotions.
"All is forgiven... I am truly sorry."
Kory smiled with all truth from her heart as she forgave him, although she had moments ago, but she was happy to ease him from hearing it. As her eyes danced at his own with between the closeness. Feeling nothing but comfortable in this closeness. She put it down to his kindness and gentle nature. As her hand then caressed his hand a little more. Feeling his hand encase her wound, but more encase a wound not visible to the eye. She felt through this he was offering his forgiveness as he touched the pain she felt from causing his own and nearly killing him. His hand was warm and gentle. Her belly stirred and his touch took all pain away. His touch helping to sooth her. It was a gesture she hadn't quite felt in along time. Nor probably even close. He had acted before he spoke to forgive her and she so admired this. This gesture he had offered was from every corner of his soul. He truly meant this. It hadn't been a gesture he had overly thought about, this being what was expected, he just acted on instinct and from his true self. Kory caressed his hand a little more admiring how he felt at her touch. Perhaps through this there could be a friendship that comes out of this. For there was something just special about him. For a second she didn't feel so alone.
"I'm Kory... What's your, name?"
Kory spoke kindly now as if the anger from moments before had melted away from his shear gentleness. There was something in a way of offering him her name and the asking of his, that it may just make a hint of a friendship more down the line. As if telling him her name was Kory was somehow different than when she had spoken to another. She knew even had she not asked he would have offered his own, but she needed to express just how much she wanted to know it. To know him. As her tone was so invested and kind in wanting to know. To hear it roll so well of his tongue and her eyes upon him seeing just how it fitted to what she was seeing. Her hand lighter against his own lifted of his hand allow him freedom to touch how he had wished and lightly rested upon his torso feeling his armour. As her eyes lingered downwards. Kory escaped a light breath. For already Kory already knew he was greater than his name. It did not rule him, he rule it. He was the one that gave his name such power. For this short moment she offered him this stillness. These touches and her emotions. She allowed him all he wanted to feel from her. Her eyes lingered back up to his eyes. As he heard now what she heard.
These echoes moved him as painfully to his heart as they did her. He was becoming more gentle every ouch he was unfolding. There was a great softness in him. He was. So beautiful. She couldn't not think it. She was now even thank-ful that he had attacked her, that she had felt all his strength and will. His passion. He had such aggression as Kory had. Yet he had all this softness, this was amazing to see and to feel. Between all the passion for fighting and determination to win, he had a joyous heart as he had. He was nicely layered. She liked how he contrasted from how he fought. Such things as being gentle and soft, many can see as weakness in a fight. Kory knew this was what was the passion she had felt. They did not weaken him in the fight nor did they hinder him. He used them. Just as Kory did. He was gentle to those he cared and rightly bombastic to his enemies.
For something Kory had set upon to do all her own, Kory was not apposed with him helping her. No not help her. They could do this together. She liked this idea. It meant she didn't need to be alone. Not that she couldn't with out him, but there was honour to be had to be doing this alongside him. Oh. This was driving source now. Having him alongside her was already making her feel stronger. She would. He would. They would both be stronger through all the emotions they would get from one another. Her eyes shut with hand still lightly upon his armour. As the cries and screams echoed. She knew there was no more time to waste. She smiled she now had this man. It coursed her to move inside at the mere thought. It was just now a matter of knowing his name. Kory retreated her hand from his armour which she had felt oddly warm for being metal and all. As her eyes opened to his words. Kory rolling her lip in her teeth as she nodded. She was glad he had the same notion as she was and also that he wasn't about to ask her to sit out because she was a woman. He respected what skills she had, he was not seeing the weaknesses in her which Kory didn't think she had. Kory wouldn't of course be backdown either way. Kory motioned to retrieve her swords. Her hand wrapping around the one at her feet. Kory's eyes then searched the other though with no end in sight as she motioned up she found it being handed to her. Kory smiled and now held both swords in her hands. Feeling them back in her hands felt good and she felt the fire within her rise once again. Feeling the strength deep inside and knowing she had all the courage she needed. She knew she was a warrior. She knew she was a hero. She was proud of the path she had chosen. The fate she had chosen. Her destiny was laid out before her waiting before her and it was a just a matter of making the choices in the present. The here now. Kory looked back up to him as he spoke. He trusted her. He respected her. Kory could read all that from how and what he spoke. He and Kory were working together. With that Kory's heart seemed to beam with a more than a flutter. An even louder battle cry and Kory knew with them together, they will be heard and the battle won at their swords.
"Let's go set them free."
Kory voice beamed towards him as she said it proud and no doubt it wouldn't happened. Kory caused her hand that he would follow her direction. As she motioned to look just around the tree. With the scene in sight. The fight and challenge laying out before her eyes. She would assume he followed her eye sight.
"You see the cart? There is only a handful of guards. A generous amount are now a sleep, but there is still enough awake that our movements could be detected... Do you think it be best we take out a smaller amount to begin with? I agree we must get the children out quickly, but I just fear if we just go in there charging we'll just alarm the whole camp. Which I'm more than prepared for, but I think more cunning approach, might make our chances higher... Its dark so we've got that on our side and use it against them, with just the two of us. It would help with moving from place to place more undetected... Maybe if we lure some out here? Do you think? We have more control of this area and it would allow us to feel as we go in. We can always quicken ourselves."
Kory spoke to the man as her eyes scanned the area and started planning their attack somewhat. Kory wasn't much of a planner just going by instinct and feel. Though being children she was less up for just taking a risk, not yet. If they started off somewhat slow and swift, they could always quicken their pacing. Kory just didn't want to rush in there. There was little hope they'd go in there without much alert to the others. Though if they swiftly worked of the men in small amounts. Maybe lure a couple to where they were and then slowly use the darkness and trees to weave up to the cart. There was a chance if they worked swift enough to take the men out and get to the cart without an alarm for the rest. There was that small window of getting the children out without a larger fight, but Kory knew they were both prepared for that. Kory was very confident this would unfold in their favour. She knew it. As her hands with her swords in hand. She felt the fire burn as she felt now, not alone. They were together for the same cause. There was no doubt the children would be saved. They would hear their laughter and joy. It was now just a matter of letting the flames begin. Let the battle to save the children begin.

The darkness was looming around every corner this early morning. There was barely a hint the sun was some few hours off course. It didn't matter. None of anything else matter. Save her goal. Save the children. As Kory was facing this rather lengthy man at the point of her swords. She was maybe lacking in strength compared to his own, but Kory knew full well that a skilled fight wasn't all about strength. It was a combination of many things. For Kory she drove from her emotions. From inside out. Was it maybe leaving a gap that she was fighting a little more from her heart? Than her head? Maybe so, but her body just instinctively knew where to go. Where to hit and where to block. As long as her heart was in place, her body was just in sync. Driving through this. She felt this anger rising. This angst to this man as her hands barely shook as she held his neck so closely with her swords. His life very much at the edge. Nearing to be cut. Kory's eyes looked through his own. Finding herself frozen in a train of thought. There. There was a glimpse she saw. For in the end he was a life she knew she was about to take. There was a quiet pain, but this was a fight for the children. Yet as her green eyes looked within from just the hint of light to help her gaze. There was a passion she saw. A reflection? This was a curious thing. Yet there was no time to really take this in.
Kory did not look nor think about all the weaknesses she carried. For in Kory she pushed them back. Almost non-existant. She was fearless. Brave. Why would she have any reason not to be? A hero needed to be brave; to be fearless; in order to do what was needing to be done. To take the sacrifice and walk through fire. Walk over the hot coals so to speak and not feel as they burnt through the skin. To walk over every piece of glass and take every shard deep within and be able to run. Not flinching as every drop of blood ran. To take all the spears in the body and keep soldiering on until the body could take no more. To not fall until there was no more left to give. This was how much Kory was willing to give. To sacrifice. She was a warrior. Born and bred to fight.
Kory breathed in deep really feeling her bravery rise within her every muscle. Her every beam under her skin. As Kory motioned through with her swords to strike his own. It was driven out of emotion. She felt it within her core. Anger brewing across her eyes and her lips lightly growled. As she felt the weight of his block upon her swords. His motioning through his strength and then with that strong push. Kory felt her back crumbling against the tree. Feeling her bones and muscles crack against the trunk of the tree quite firmly. Kory's voice uttered the letting of her breath as the forced drove the breath from the pain from her lungs. It wasn't an overly damaging pain and it just grew the anger inside her. Causing her fire to grow.
His voice came through the air like a deep cut through the ice. Feeling her emotions heat as he threw her words back upon her. Causing the shake of her head more and more. As her voice uttered a scream. 'ahhh' Kory made to strike out again. Trying with all her strength to push his strength off, of her swords. Finding a possible opening and struck out her sword aiming for his neck with more force. Feeling his block as it rang through her blade with such force it knocked her sword clean out of her hand. Feeling more anger rise as he was beginning to over power her. As his motion drove her sword to be knocked out. He took advantage as he stuck his sword along her torso and her hip. Kory having little time with only one sword now. Bringing her sword in time to push the strikes off balance. Unable to stop his strikes completely. Kory felt his blade gently slice her skin, across her belly just under her belly button and at her hip just where her skirt met. A shallow tear. The mark across her stomach just a little deeper than the one across her hip. She could feel the warmth spreading as his blades motioned across her skin before her own blade stopped him in his tracks to cause more damage.
Still Kory was not about to quit. To simply give up. No. No. Kory frantically shook her head. Her eyes that had looked at his neck for her aim now rose to his own eyes, in one massive hard look. As they watered. These were not so much tears of sadness or from the pain. This was brought much from the anger. They felt like bubbling hot water at her eyes. As she felt the steam rise from her cheeks. She was thriving from her every emotion. All she could drive from to make sure she came out fighting and winning. As her sword moved to knock his own. Hoping to cause enough distraction that she pointed the blade firmly as his gut. As her free hand that had lost her sword had motioned to her thigh and took hold of one of her daggers. Kory's hand in one shift motion as she hoped he was well put off, stuck the dagger just deeply at his throat. Not too deep to cut his life source, Just deep enough he could feel her every strength and will; beneath her hold.
"This is as much pain as you are going to cause tonight. For I will not let you… I will not let any of you; harm even a hair upon the innocent… I will make sure you get what you deserve. Justice will be served at the point of my swords. At the end of my fists. The last echo you hear will be my battle cry and the laughter of the children as I set them all free. As your memory brings nothing but shame to your family, this world and everything you stand for… "
Kory made sure, full well he heard these words, every one. She was not one so much to speak, but it needed to be said and heard. Then Kory could show her actions. Her hand pressing a little harder as she spoke. Making the point that how ever much he would bring to her or any of his men. Kory would just fight back harder. She would find a way even in the most impossible situation. There was no fight she couldn't face. Her eyes looked dead straight into his. As she thrived off of her own blood that now trickled down and coated her skin. Was he thinking she wouldn't go through every pain for these children? That she wouldn't go to any length she could muster in her entire body and find a way. For, oh no, this had nothing to do with her. Nothing to do with any pain she could feel. This was about one thing to save the innocent. To restore life and purity to the world...
It was then after her stare that locked at his own. She was challenging him beyond the wielding of his swords. Challenging the human within him. This had nothing to do with a man nor a woman. This was about life deserving to be alive. To be saved. But as for a glance with the faint glow from the moon, that shone down from above. He had become a little more clearer. There was almost something sweet in his face despite his every inch of aggression that had matched her own. There was something in this that seemed to call at her emotions. To stop her attack. Her eyes then retreated from his stare. As her eyes glimpsed the rest. There it shone. The crest of his knighthood. Oh. What had she done? Her hand shakily upon her dagger at his throat. Kory released her hold of his neck and lowered her weapon which took a lot of effort. For her eyes searched for how she had brought herself to attack him. She dropped her second sword from her hand. Hearing the faint echo of the metal hitting the floor. Oh what had she done? Why had she been so blind? Why hadn't she listened to her heart just moments ago? Kory understood now what she had seen. What she had felt? This passion inside him. He was a knight. No no. She shook her head. He was more than a knight. A man that drove this hard and all she had just felt. He was a warrior himself. Oh. Her eyes rang of sadness from the pain she had caused and from the lack of judgement on her part. For she had come to save the children and let her emotions take the best of her. She probably would have done anything in such a state. She was not sure this was a good thing, but she wasn't about to regret every and any emotion she felt. It was going against everything she was. There was nothing wrong with this. This fight to save. But oh. She had spend her time on someone here to help. Someone with the same intentions she had. Oh thank X'hal, she had seen this before it really got out of hand. Her lips quivered with the apology caught so painfully in her eyes and in her heart. Her hand free ran to brush his cheek. To touch the life she had almost mistaken and yet now as she even touched him. She felt even worse for he was so clear to her. So very clear. He was like the clearest ocean and she wished to see just the dark moments before. Kory tried to smile, but it seemed almost hopeless in such a situation.
"I... "
Kory uttered but she couldn't will to speak. Her eyes ran between his own. Her hand with her dagger dropped. As it came to press gentle at her wounded torso. As she shook her head ever so gently. Her hand pressing upon the pain a little deeper. From all the emotions she had built up to slay him and now mixed with her deepest apology. The trickle of the blood between her fingers was almost soothing now. Then her hand motioned down her torso to replace her dagger back upon her thigh. Her hands almost clutching the tree trunk behind her. As her face looked down. Her eyes searching for all these emotions coursing through her body. Her eyes motioning a little up towards his eyes. Oh she was so sorry. Then just as she met them. The sounds behind the tree echoed. Causing her face to look in the direction and Kory was reminded why she was here. This was not about her... This was why he was here. Kory knew this now. She felt the apology run through her veins and her heart beating harder for it. It just was. Kory just knew even now. She Couldn't! Wouldn't! Turn away from the children. Her eyes settled a little as the realisation reset her emotions. Her eyes then moved from the faint echoes. Oh she shut her eyes as she could hear their faint screams and cries. Her heart breaking at the sound. Her hands digging deeper in her hold of the bark. Her chest rose with every breath that came from within. Her eyes then motioned back towards this Knight... This wondrous man. Kory letting out a faint smile. Hoping he would be able to forgiver her and help her with her cause. Oh, for there was still nothing that was going to stop her. No, Kory knew her destiny was calling. As the echoes of the children called. Kory's heart only thumped louder.

There seemed nothing worse, than the capturing of children. It in ways meant the robbing of a life. That took forever to get back if, never. The child would forever be changed even if physically safe. It can cause a growing of a child to quicken, whilst cutting short of the innocences and the rest of their life trying to recapture it. Kory had been barely 14 when it had been her. When she had been taken. Her parents had the difficult choice their daughter or their kingdom. To this day Kory holds no blame that they chose the kingdom. That they in a way gave her life to a life of torment and servitude. How could she blame them. Had they chosen her, it would have meant the destruction of a much greater depth. As Kory let her head rest against the tree. Realising it had ended that either way. That her kingdom had ended up in ruins. Somehow still even at that thought, Kory knew it had played out how it was meant to.
The life she had been forced in, changed her. How it can change any child. The change always varies. For every child is different. For Kory she had always been the brave kind. Fearless, as much as she would think she was. These years that had been taken, Kory felt stronger for it. There was that possibility she wouldn't be who she was today had it not happened. It seemed odd to be thankful. It just seemed the better revenge. To just forgive and thrive on it. As much as Kory could thrive on this strength, that she had survived and was living a much more fulfilled life. There was just something that had been taken that day. Her right to live through her teen years, her last bit of being a child. She didn't get the chance to grow and let her innocence go more natural. Allow it to stretch and form into something as she became an adult. Her innocence wasn't so much as taken it was lost. Now after being freed, Kory had been feeling hints of it here and there. It was mixed. She had been so long without it that it was hard to really take hold. She knew it was much to late to really recapture this innocence. She had grown fast. There was. There was just little chance, but she was changed. She had not just grown up fast, parts of her had her innocence pulled apart at the seams and she was a life not so easily understood. Something to this extend just truly changes a person.
Despite Kory had forgiven and she was thankful to how strong it had made her. She could remember every inch of what had happened. They were more than just flashes of images. Kory remembered everything. The one thing she would never forget was every emotion she was caused to feel. She could even remember every thought she had. For in something like that all one has is their mind to run away to. It was just a matter to how much does one run and hide there. Kory at times had to admit she was a child and it meant at times she had been frightened. Her emotions hadn't been overly of the more happy kinds. She endured the pain. She let out faint screams and she shed the tears she hadn't the strength to keep. There had just become a point. When she just wanted to survive. Even as a young child, Kory was never one to just give in and give up. She was much what she looked on the outside. Open and lit like a fire. She was a fighter. From the inside out.
This fire could be beautiful and so powerful. It could also at times come out of control and not be easily tamed. No one said life was meant to be easy. Kory would wish it no other way. Her life was all the life she had. Her free hand dug deep into the bark. For all the memories she had, which made her heart leap painfully and every pulse through her veins wished to make sure a child could truly live how a child should do. Kory had all the desire in the world to protect life, even more so for the innocent life of children. It was more personal for it had happened to her. Again Kory led a smile across her lips. This had been the sacrifice. Kory went through all the suffering to get her to stop it from happening to others. Out of all the pain, Kory could bring peace and a means for hope in the darkness. For there was always hope, even in the deepest rubble. Even in complete ruins, there was always hope.
Kory bumped her head against the tree as her mind came back to the world at hand. To the task at hand. The bandits would pay. Justice would be brought. Most importantly the children would be saved. There was something to admire all the emotions that coursed through her body. This call, oh it was so strong. Kory liked this feeling inside. This need for her aid. That she could save a life. She could stop danger and really bring peace. To then bring joy. There seemed no life if there was no joy. For now she heard the faint echoes of the children's sobs. It coursed through her heart. Even with her eyes shut behind the tree, she could visualise their fearful faces easily. Having no clue why this had happened. It wasn't something one could say a child was not smart enough to know, for really there was no answer. No straight answer. Why someone takes a child? How can one justify that? Kory sure couldn't. It went down further than just being cruel. It was sure not down to the actions of the children. They were innocent and being punished for little to no reason. Kory shook her head as she focused on their cries. 'This isn't right' Kory whispered. As she felt sorrow for them. It was helping to build the fire and the need to rescue them. Her lips quivered. Trying to smile as she sort to comfort the children in her mind as she heard their cries. Promising from her heart, her core that she would see no harm placed upon them. With that a nod of her head. It almost eased her as if saying the words to herself convinced her more. This was no burden. This was a calling Kory gladly was placing upon her shoulders. She would not let them down. She would not let herself down.
Kory slowly opened her eyes. Catching the dark still in place and the dark forest in front of her. The camp still behind her. Seeking to take a peek and knowing there was not much time to kill now. Then a sound stopped her. Kory frowned her eyes. As she heard the gentle foot falls. Close by? Kory's eyes shifted to the direction. Had they seen her? Her eyes then caught the direction. These footsteps were behind her. Kory took better hold upon her sword. Then these movements stopped. Kory relaxed. Had she heard wrong. Had they just passed by. Before she could react as much. The voice rang to her ears and a sword pointed at the curve in her neck. Her throat so easily cut short of life. Her eyes followed the length of the sword. As her chest rose at the shock he had taken her a little by surprised, but for the most part Kory was mostly calm. For it was one. Only one Bandit. Kory had thought she'd come to them, but she could deal with them coming to her. It was hard to catch him in the darkness. Kory could tell he had a few inches above her. For these moments, Kory remained quiet. Her lips quivering a little in a hint of aggression. Kory then took hint in his hold. How he had faltered in the hold of his sword. Had he not expected a woman? Kory didn't think about this too long. Kory using this pause within this man. Kory motioned to be free of the point of his sword, even if it followed it didn't concern Kory. Height nor strength of a man was going to stand in her way to the setting the children free.
"When? Before or after I cut yours out?"
In his falter; abled Kory to take advantage. As she moved around she brought her leg up to ram through his torso to aim him against the tree. Kory turned her body in motion as her hand brought free her second sword. Twisting the weapons in her hands. As they flowed through the air to land them at his own throat. One either side. Then her eyes came to his. He had offered the challenge. Kory smirked. Then a challenge he had. Kory shook her head slightly. For there was maybe a hint, he hadn't much a clue who she was. Who he had just threatened. That this fire had only began to rise. She wasn't about to be put out, just him.
"Tell me? How do you sleep at night? Oh wait, I guess here lays my answer."
Kory knew he was about to get was he deserved. They all were. For threatening and harming children. Her expression then rose as her eyes matched the taste of anger at the tip of her tongue. Her voice was deep as she asked from a place of really seeking this answer. It seemed foolish to try and ask why someone really does anything. Kory wasn't sure there was an easy answer, but something inside her needed to know. Her humanity needed to ask. Then with her swords so close to his flesh. Perhaps this was a sign, he couldn't sleep. Kory wasn't sure this would really ease her mind. For why? Anyone would do what they had done and what they had planned to do with the children. Kory swallowed. She hadn't thought to much what they had planned with the children. She vowed to rescue them before anything could be set out. There was something quite well skilled within this man. Kory titled her head slightly. As he was still quite hidden. His movement had been of someone well trained. By birth. Perhaps, much like she had. For someone seeking to capture children. Did this man forget what it was like to be a child? Kory breathed deeply. Trying to give reasons and try to understand; was not the point. Kory knew there be no one with the right answer. Because the answer was simple and clear. It was plain, Wrong. This was why it was so hard to understand; to know why it happened. This was pure passion and compassion that drove her now. There was an anger being brought from within her from this. She was more than just her own strength tonight. She had the strength not her own. Kory swiftly withdrew her swords. Very swiftly trying to confuse him as she more randomly came back with one to run along his throat. Kory doubted it land well. She felt he knew how to block. Kory was ready to duck. Feel his moves and use her own to manipulate him. This could be quite a long fight if they are all like him, but it was nothing Kory couldn't handle. Alone.

The night came with a faint call. A desperate cry through the depths of darkness. Whilst the villagers and folk alike slept. A stirring came. Quiet and swift. Hardly even rising a mouse with suspicion. As a large group of bandits, even if they could even been worthy of a name, came through this village on the outskirts of the city of Camelot. Snatching its children. As the snatching came, their screams soon were heard and before any could take action. They had vanished along through the mists of the night. With their faint echoes trailing back down the road. The villagers unsettled and frightened. Sleep was now very much disturbed. Being as late as it was, it was unclear if such tragic news would even reach the city of Camelot. Or even on time. It wouldn't take these bandits long to truly disappear. There came a desperate call. A cry for help. 'Save our Children, please'. This was no mere cry wolf. This was real. The night where the bad sort to punish the innocent. Harm children. Where was this world, coming to?
It was just past midnight. The morning just beginning, but dark as night still for a few more hours. Kory was nearby the village, when she heard the cry for help from the village bell. It led her straight to the tiny place now lit to the world, begging to be heard. If the knights of Camelot were to respond to this call, Kory feared they'd be too long and the children dead. This was besides the point. Kory had no choice. This was her calling. Kory knew that. There came a light inside at the news harm had been put upon children. It was wrong whom ever the victims were, but there was just something more tragic when it dealt with children. With the pure and innocent. Upon Kory's arrival to the Village. She was met with the villagers in the centre. The back drop pitch black. Gold lights twinkling around her and the rustic feel of the place in lights and shadows. Even despite lack of signs of a struggle, there was just something different and restless in the air. Perhaps it was the folk as Kory's green eyes passed between them. Listening to their every word. Their panics and details as to what took place. Even in what they didn't say, it was read upon their pale faces. Tear streaked and fear struck. Only a crime against children can create such a mix of emotions. This was hitting at the core of the village.
"I promise, I'll stop at nothing until your children are home, safe. You have my word... Now, Which direction did you say they took?"
Kory already saw the doubts across their faces even before she spoke her words. They had wished for a group of knights or maybe even a well built man. Instead stood before them was a woman. With such striking features, they could barely guess where she was from. Though despite their doubts or concerning glances between them. They were desperate to get them back and as Kory assured them of her promise. They seemed convinced enough that she was promising that. For they quickly saw not just a woman with a strange appearance. A very confident woman. Kory had every faith in herself that she would succeed. Her stance was more than just a woman, but of a warrior. With the gleam of her swords caught by the lights of torches and the flinching of her muscles. She ran true of such a word. The villagers had extended their accepting her promise, it was now up to Kory to not let them down and she knew she would die trying.
To which the villagers pointed Kory in the direction. She offered them a nod. For the rescue had only barely begun. Hopefully by the time darn broke. Their children would be safe and sound. Though how long, it was anyones guess. Luckily for them, Kory had all the time in the world. For this calling was loud feeling it even in her bones and in her flesh, at every flinch of a muscle she took. Kory then smiled. For with all the thick warrior she was. Kory was kind and loyal. Already feeling the villagers warm up to her. There was maybe some that took her being a woman as a good thing. At least for the mothers. For a woman just knows. They could trust in Kory that she would fight from her heart and she really did care. Some of the villagers smiled back. A glimmer of hope rang through them that Kory was just that, hope. With one last smile and glance, Kory took the direction they had pointed.
Leaving the lights of the village behind and being met with a ragged path veiled by mist. Feeling already very much on the right path. As she took the first step, there was no turning back even if she knew that before she had even taken it. She felt the concern for the children. It saddened her that something like this had to happen. It brought a fire within her. Slightly at the spark. For it shouldn't of happened. Her eyes keeping upon the shaded road. The tracks were very fresh still from the cart and horses. It was easy enough to follow. Even with the forest clouded in mist and black. The moon was round enough to beam a little light. So Kory didn't accidentally bump into a tree or trip on a rock. For the moment Kory kept her weapons at bay upon her back and her daggers hidden upon her thighs. Just following the tracks. Dressed in her leather outfit. Black it helped blend well at night. Leather top that covered her in the right places and showed a lot of her bare skin, her muscles and curves. With its finely cut style. This outfit was made to fit her. Hug her body and shape the warrior so at the ready. Upon her hips hung her leather skirt fastened by a cord at her right hip. There was a chill in the breeze, but the fire within her kept it out of her mind. Kept the goosebumps from peaking upon her bare arms and limbs. In most light or darkness it is hard to hide her red vibrant hair. To night it had began to flame. With the help of the breeze it made these flames curl. Falling in and around her skin.
Kory kept quiet footsteps, for there was not just bandits on the run out here and Kory wasn't looking for a preview fight before the real one. As her eyes kept upon these tracks and her body followed. It seemed to grow darker. Her eyes shifting around for a bit between following the tracks. It was heading her deep within the forest. Very well within the forest. Kory could feel eyes upon her, she doubted bandits, but she wasn't so sure they were just animals either. The mist seemed to thicken and it also seemed to move in different shapes. Hidden within, Kory could make out shadows, but as her eyes looked they were gone. It paid little upon fear in Kory. As her body kept her from even slowing her pace to even stop and think. It seemed after an hour it had grown very quiet. Too quiet. Just as Kory looked around and feeling it had just gotten darker. Her eyes catching light up a head. This caused her to halt in her tracks. A spark loomed brighter inside her. Had she caught up with them. She now steadily moved through to reach a little closer. Spying as she moved. Her ears picking up the faint echoes of voices. The echo of fire crackling.
Kory fell off the path. Finding her own path in and around the trees and shrubs. As this was bringing her closer. She caught glimpse of the fire more clearly. Seeing that this was much more a camp. She knew full well this was the bandits. She crouched herself behind a bush. Her hand pushing between the leaves to peak. Stepping through her crouch behind the bushes and mapping out the area more. Until Kory motioned herself along the bushes further down to take more of a view, leading her eyes a glimpse of a corner of the cart. Her eyes shot a look of concern as she glimpsed one of the children. 5? The boy had to be barely even 5. Struck with fear as he huddled within the prison cart. Kory motioning to her feet as the need to see more drove her. Then her eyes looked to keep her stance hidden for now, but for luck she hadn't been seen. She was still a good distance. Her eyes then shifted about her as Kory moved around a tree that blocked the rest of the view of the cart. Kory's hands were placed upon the tree as moved she moved herself around it. Silently. Looking to see full view of the cart. Kory's heart leaped at the children inside. Causing this spark to grow inside, calling to help them. To save them. Kory's lips curled in an anger that was just beginning to brew as her eyes scoured around the camp. Seeking out the men. She gathered some were sleeping, but from this fair distance could make out a few around the fire. There were also some taking guard at different spots. The area was decent enough in size, but it was very well hidden. As Kory's attention was taken. A couple of guards motioned in view around the cart. Almost catching a glimpse of Kory.
Kory quickly felt the tree upon her back as she hid out of plain sight. Contemplating when to act? Was there even the right moment? If there was. Kory doubted there'd be many. It just had to take a little extra thought. This was a battle Kory most needed to win. To be successful. As the flush of the contemplations invaded her mind. Kory shut her eyes, breathed. It seemed wise to go in and start off slow. Pick them off almost one by one. Eliminate as many as possible to start with. Not that the large number shook at her bones or even a flutter, Kory knew this would bring a better result. Kory peered her red head around the tree, seeing the guards still around the cart and a couple more bandits moving around the area. There was still a few yards between them. Kory shaking her head as her eyes kept moving towards the children. Then caught glimpse as some of the bandits seemed to start finding sleep. Perhaps if Kory waited just a little longer it be a stronger chance if most were attacked when they were asleep. That's if Kory could do so much of the waiting.
There was the every need to just jump and run over these yards that separated them and attack. She could feel her nails dig into the bark to hold herself back. This was more precious of a fight and her instincts spoke her to just hold off for a little more. So for now she trusted in that. Just as eyes came her direction she replanted her head against the tree. Feeling her chest heave heavily. Letting out a deep breathe as her hand reached out her sword on her right shoulder. Hearing the faint scrap of metal as she slowly drew it out. Leading the sword to rest low, but close by at the ready. Closing her eyes. As her heart never stopped the racing. Her belly stirred of this fire waiting to be unleashed. It made her muscles burn. As her eyes had shut, it came back memories of when Valaria had crumbled.
Kory had been captured and tied. She heard the faint cries that rang throughout the city as literal hell broke loose. The cry of the children was the more rememberable. So full of innocence and of life needing to live and grow. To take such a precious gift made all of Kory's nerves sing. Her face showed as the images of the past came to her. This time there would be a different result. Kory had no doubt. She hadn't regretted that she hadn't been there, but she could be here now and every time after this one. At that thought the image slowly vanished. Her face relaxing. Almost at peace at the thought of her calling, her destiny. To be the hero to so many. To be the hero this world so needed. It was close to the taking and sang so strongly at Kory's heart. That there was no doubts. There was never any second thought. Her destiny as now so close. It rang up her every nerve. This was who she was meant to be and where she belonged. Causing Kory to do nothing, but smile and welcome her destiny.

Kory had extended her arm out of much of kindness. There was reason for her to not be. She had no right to judge him in a matter of minutes. Whether he trusted Kory, was his deal. She saw how his eyes sketched over her. Not fully seeing who or what she is. Was he expecting someone else? A more type of woman upon her knees. Hugging them tightly in fright? Her eyes looking to his. Hmmmm, though again who was she to judge. To Kory it had nothing to do with being equal. She did not seeking to be anyone but herself. Her best wouldn't be his. His wouldn't be her own. It came to her more a general matter of respect. Kory just wasn't one to just assume all the badness in someone. To give a chance to prove themselves. To be seeking an enemy in a stranger, was nothing but a deep desire to seek it. Why would she seek an enemy? Nor create one? She could easily stand her ground if such things came to pass, but it just lingered little thought to try and provoke someone out of little reason. Just from looking upon his eyes, there was a softness she could see, but she knew it was a false hope to be seeing anymore.
As he did not reach to meet her hand. She questioned whether a lack of respect. Though really she did not know this man. Gael. Perhaps it took a little more to gain respect in such a man. Her lips smiled. As her green eyes ran down his form coyly then back to his face. Noting the blood stained upon his flesh. It for some reason did not hinder his appearance nor did it hide his expressions. His emotions. Wow. She could feel a plentiful brewing just behind his eyes. As he didn't express a lot out of delight at her presence, but there was at least a hint of a thought. She nodded her head gently at his name, not too displeased he did not take her hand. Kory was sure it wasn't so much out of rudeness, more out of not a lot of trust.
Her lips smiled as the mare came to meet them. Kory's eyes fluttering to Gael's, her eyes looked in curiosity that he did not seemed overly pleased. This she found quite odd. Also a little unsure what about this he was displeased with, but he took the animal well enough. As her eyes faintly studied him as the breeze tossed gently at her hair. Her hand moved to brush the loose hairs from her face. Her lips smiling again as her eyes searched for where such things were leading. There seemed to be an intriguing motions in Gael's movements, reacting to her words. Kory just not so much noting the negatives, just focusing on the positives, which was a bit hard, but not impossible. His reply was very much more a statement. This she couldn't argue with. From the faintness of the skill she saw in him, she was sure he'd deal well in most cases. In most battles. She merely thought he wasn't seeking another. Despite his skills he could possibly just wish use his time upon an endless fight. Kory was prepared for all and every fight. Unlike others, she did not seek fights unless completely required. Kory was trained to fight until the death, to always fight the end fight. How it was for him? Kory was sure be different. It always was.
Kory's eyes moved to the motions by his side. Two horses and a dog. It was oddly a sweet picture. A sweet thought. Who was this, Gael? Where were they from? Her head turned to its side slightly. As her green eyes gazed upon them in leather covering very little, scattered in blood and feeling not so much the only outsider. Her lips smiled towards the animals. She could feel the connection that laid somewhat between the group. It was a fair thing. They had each other. Her eyes traced to the ground before her. Who did she have? No one. Alone. She let out a breath. It was much a sacrifice Kory was sure she was willing to give. Though a hint of doubt set inside her. It didn't need to be like this. She knew that. Perhaps loneliness didn't need to be curse. Kory had all the hope in the world. Faith in herself, that she could really find a place somewhere in this world. She was certain she was beginning to feel it. Not so much a place, but a need for her. Maybe it was just best to let things come, more than just find, but Kory doubted she'd contain herself forever. She would latch on to the first sights of this hope. She smiled again. Her eyes sparkled. She really just didn't want to be alone forever or die that way. Kory just had to go with it. Her emotions taking the lead as always. That she had to trust in more than ever before.
Her hand ran over her other arm. Wiping the blood a little. She was in need of water just as much. It seemed the general state these past weeks. Blood. Blood. Blood. Oh and dirt. Her eyes looked up at Gael and his group of four legged friends. Each one beautiful and unique. Making her smile gently as she saw Gael take in her words. Almost a hint something caught at his tongue, but Kory didn't seek this. Her eyes following as his eyes motioned to his friends. Was he speaking to them in some way, Kory couldn't hear? She wasn't sure it surprise her. A lot of things was surprising her these days, more generally in a good sense. As Gael returned his gaze upon her and spoke. Kory was well, delighted. To have their company for just a bit longer. Her eyes shone brighter as she caught sight of his own and her lips smiled very friendly.
"Oh certainly, it be my pleasure... It's just a small walk this way, it shouldn't take too much of your time..."
Her voice overly expressing the joy in her voice. Her hair blowing a little more in her face, but didn't bother this time. Kory extending her arm to point to a faint path through the trees. Away from the direction of the nest. Just a small walk, to a waterfall pool surrounded well by trees. It wasn't so easy to find, but once found hardly forgotten. In her short time in and around these parts. Kory learned a lot about everything, there was still plenty to take in. She then turned on foot to lead them through the path. Her footsteps at a pace that she wouldn't mind Gael to meet with his own. There was a faint stir within her, an excitement for their company. More than joyous. Her hand then brushed her red locks behind her ear. It was much in a blaze of flames, but not too tangled. Running her hand through from the top shook her entire locks. To loosen them up. Feeling the dried blood at some of the ends that seemed to almost blend in colour. Then her hands dropped. Moving her eyes to try and find Gael with a smile.
"Gael, where is it you hail from? Is this where your heading? You have to forgive me, I'm still learning about these lands, outside my own. Its strange to think it has only been a month and yet it seems too long. But, there is something about these lands. Don't you think? What brings you to these parts, may I ask?"
Kory asked Gael, maybe too many questions. As her joy sort of over took her excitement and a need to know. Almost laughing at herself and her cheeks blushing. Acting a tad of the child in her heart. Instead of totally shying away, Kory just tried to embrace these emotions. They were who she was. To be ashamed, would be ashamed in herself. Her eyes passing between her words towards Gael's direction. She was just assuming he wasn't from around these parts, but she was still wishing to know. It wasn't a lie she wasn't overly familiar with most of these lands. Kory as heir to her throne, knew of these kingdoms, but it was must different now that she actually was now much in these foreign lands. There was hearing and there was experiencing. It was quite different. They had always fascinated her, but she hadn't been expected to leave Valaria all that greatly unless needed. Considering how well hid and separate it was in many ways. It really was something to think how long or short really it had been since she had little choice, but to leave. It was in these moments she missed Valaria the most. But, there is a good thing to be in these new exciting lands. Kory couldn't ever know if she could find something else to call home, it may always remain Valaria, but there was comforts to be found. A life to be shared. Her words not seeking to cause so much as trouble, but just kind curiosity. She had really nothing to hide. As her eyes looked upon the trail ahead. It was faint. Leaves scattered, it was even barely a path. Mostly man made without meaning to be made. At the signs it didn't get used much. Feeling the shrubs play upon her lower parts of her legs. Tickling her gently, her lips escaped a giggle. It was quiet and soon passed. Yet her joy remained. As they were itching closer... Hearing the faint echoes. Of the water. Bringing more joy to her lips. To how she even walked. She was not a mere weak woman, hopelessly lost. She was strong, because she embraced all she was. Even without direction, she had faith she'd find her place. Feeling a little out of place, really wasn't such a bad thing, but for the most part. Kory was very much put together. She wasn't trying to be anyone else. No one but herself. There was no point running down a path that did not belong to her, not try and make the path more easier or safer. Whatever road blocks would come, Kory was sure enough to take them all head strong, head first. There was no reason to ever back down.

The breeze was gentle, it left enough space for every sound and echo reach Kory's ears. Yet, still many sounds were just distant echoes, nothing more. The whirl of leaves curled around her feet. Her body was first bent to the knees, ready at the strike. or well, to release the trap, once what ever took leap into it. But the moments were ticking by. Kory found her body sitting, resting against the tree close by behind the shrubs, now. Her hand toyed at the ends of her long red hair. Almost counting each strand and then realising she just counted them about too many times. Curling a good amount of hair around her finger, pulling it gently. Feeling the tension somewhat calming, then she let it go. This was that moment it was just a matter of waiting, it wasn't the most maybe the best use of her time, but it gave her a little room to breathe.
How long was it been since Kory had room to breath? With that her breathe escaped deeply. Then deeply in again. Her mind running around what might just jump into her net, but then wondering if anything at all. No! Kory shook her head. She had promised and one way of the other, she planned on keeping it. When Kory sets out to do something, there is no room for much error, it would be done, no matter the toils or hardship. It would be done. It must be done. Then a shiver ran down her arms, but the sunlight was rather warm. Perhaps it was the hint of doubt she just didn't like and she had come to realise just how long it had been. Since. Since she was freed. There was still that hint of guilt, but still no regrets. There was something nice in the fact that she could just be. Just have moments where she could just sit by a tree, helping a family out with not much care anything would come of her. At least for now. There was just something comforting about this. Her life had changed. In ways the life she had was destroyed, one side could say for the worst. But looking at it from where she was sitting now, it was anything but wrong. Whether it was always meant to lead her here, Kory will never know and she wasn't sure she really even wanted to know. It probably was for the best just to go with what ever life was throwing at her now.
It in a way started with the lending a hand. Helping someone in need, but she knew down to her core. From the faint whispers from a far and the whispers just by her ears. That there was more to help. Was this her calling? Her true calling? Either way or not, Kory was accepting it. This deeper purpose. It wasn't all about her anymore and what she needed. There were others to consider. A world of lives meant to be lived. Kory let out a soft laughter thinking her deep thoughts probably weren't going to help her in the staying focused state in order to catch, what may just fall into her net. Her green eyes peaked towards the shrubs, but through the cracks appeared clean. No sounds. Her sight seeking to the sky above. Through the cracks in the branches. Feeling the sunlight just peak through and watching as the beam moves to land upon her skin. Bringing a warm smile to her lips. It was a nice day. A very fine day in deed. Closing her eyes and leaving all senses open. 'Ah', she mumbled. It even smelt beautiful. Kory's smiled brightened then as if a break in the glass, came the crunch. The whispers. The sounds of movements.
Her eyes fled open. First taking sight of the sky then almost straight to the shrubs. Through the cracks. There came images to these sounds. It was hard if not impossible to tell. Though the thumping of her racing heart and the quickness of the flow of her blood. Was giving her all the signs that she could be soon bringing something decent to the family, to devour. Her expressions were a little to focused to smile, but the hint of it was still there. Her hands pushed herself to her knees, crawled just the little ways to peak through. Before her eyes came the scrapping of metal. Which confused her. Kory was left wondering if such a beast would be armed. She shook her head, maybe she was just hearing things. Although she had already witnessed the so called, Strange, that happens in and around Camelot. It was perhaps another reason why, Kory had stayed. It in some ways was most fitting, although she gathered, she was maybe just a little to strange. Even for Camelot.
She heard the faint whisper again, it almost spoke of a word. Before Kory could really take this to heed, the movements had already been made. The steps just in the right place. With that her eyes through the openings through the shrubs, heard the pulling of the net. The leaves that hid it fall to the ground as the net caused struggle as it lifted to the skies. Kory made a slight cheer inside, thinking it was successful. Although the faint metal and the whispers had thrown her off, but it was rather not the point, she gathered. The trap had been set, it had be sprung upon and hopefully achieved its purpose. Wow. Was an understatement. Maybe her idea of the net was far better than she had thought. It sure bet just wondering through the forest and having to attack such things. This was, well. It was just cutting the corners in a way, but it seemed rather well done.
Kory as if a fire rising through the ash, came to her feet behind the shrubs. Seeing the leaves scattered the sight of the net above. Not too high so not to be completely out of reach, but high enough. There was faint movements. As Kory stepped through the shrubs. The small fine branches scrapping her carves as she motioned through, but it was very minor pain and her skin was thicker for it. The area was much finely lit than where she had sat. With the sunlight streaking down to where her so called, master plan had been set. There was no vast crowd, but she was hardly seeking for any credit. It wasn't the point. The extra time she could give someone to live was enough, a faint hope in the dark. As she motioned into the area. She drew out her swords from her back. It started with just her right one, but as she caught sight of metal upon the ground it gave instinct to pull out her second sword out. Her senses were picking up every trace. Something was just not right about this. Perhaps, she should of paid more attention to the sounds she had heard. With her form just below. Dressed in leather. Her hair like fire burning down and along her golden skin. Her green orbs following until it reached the net. For now, she was sure it was no beast above her head. Then whom was it?

There was still that lingering thought, Kory saw shadowing over his head. He thought she wanted to impress him. Yes, in ways, but he probably hasn't realised yet. She wasn't trying to. Yet, with all this running around in her head. She wanted to. Her eyes tried to focus on him more. Why was this? Why was there any need? He hadn't expressed a lot of warmth or inviting. No, but he was here. Her eyes moved around the forest, the area. The world she was now cast in. In all the world, this man happened to be here. Why was this seeming important to her? It wasn't something Kory knew she wasn't going to figure out soon; why she felt anything for this man. Maybe that slight gleam she saw, it danced to her and desired to capture it. Keep her engaged. For someone that looked still as ice or in his case smoke. He did an utterly good job at making her emotions move.
Whatever that lay within him and there was something. Kory was feeling every inch of it. He was trying to amuse? Maybe Toy. Yet, like Kory there was a hint of truth in his words. Or were they. She knew he was probably trying at least confuse her. She would have to offer applause to him, for it was working. Well, thus far. It just instead of making Kory turn away, just made her want to stay. Her heart was maybe reading into this a little to much, but who doesn't in a way follow their heart in this world. Sure ones head is a main part, but what was the point in doing any of that if there wasn't even a slight beating of your heart. Yet, his gaze. His smirks. His chuckles. Wow, the beating hurt. Was maybe her heart suggesting something else and Kory was just admiring the pain. The emotions that came out of this strange view on him. Her eyes lowered and escaped a breath of laughter. He was not strange. He hadn't been cruel to place her in that box yet and she wouldn't do it to him. He was... He was just something not so easily explained.
Instead of feeling her body tensing and being on edge. Kory was mostly settled. Even if he loomed so close high above. With his casting gaze down upon her. His position in such a way he probably had the upper hand and yet, Kory played no heed to this. She had only offered the ground so her eyes would be level, but she didn't mind this view of him. His presence. His dark shadow trying to snag her. Her eyes lowered again as if she swore the shadow grew bigger. Her eyes following the edges enlarging. Yet as her eyes returned, he hadn't moved much. Was he maybe not reading the deep power in himself. Or was she just reading into him a little too deeply. Her eyes softened upon him and her lips followed. It seemed only fitting that he was just doing the same. Figuring her out. Two sides of a coin, perhaps. Was why they couldn't. There was the beginning look in his eyes, maybe an understanding of sorts, but she wasn't about to hold her breath.
"That's if I am TRYING! to impress you! If I fail at being who I am? Why would I regret that? And I don't know, I think ridiculous sort of goes a long the lines of rememberable, Don't you think? If you remember how poorly I was, well at least I am remembered... Are you going through this life, seeking people to like you?... I'd rather be hated for being who I am, than to be loved for someone I am not."
She offered him back with her words. Her features still light hearted, but with every depth of truth. She was just a woman, thankful to being alive. For in this kind of world, death loomed around the corner. It possibly was looming before her. Now, Kory wasn't going down without a fight, but she wasn't about to just let life pass her by. She wanted to make do with what life she had. Did this man seek no enjoyment in life? She lowered her head in amusement. For she was sure the fact he was trying amuse her was answer enough. Well, he was trying to mock her and toy with her for maybe all the wrong reasons, but she liked this. She wanted to pull his own strings and drag a little more out. He was thrilling entertainment. If people truly believed to go by the Good versus Evil road, then people were blind. Kory knew in most cases people had both. She was sure deep inside her so called joyous heart laid a little demon, somewhere.
"Really? Tell me how you find this such a hard thing to believe then? I never intended on giving you such a reaction. It is possible your just seeking for it?"
Her eyes shifted up his form. As her face moved to get a better view. She smiled softly. Why was he bringing this out of her? For she still let out a hint of her flirting. The lump in her chest and the stirring of her belly. She was unable to tell whether this was a bad thing. Though his assumptions were quite amusing. Maybe he was seeing her in a way she hadn't done herself. He saw maybe the slight danger inside her, that she didn't know she had. Not danger in such she is a warrior, but the way his eyes were upon her. His gaze trying to provoke her. Was he trying to bring this dangerous side out or was he trying to challenge it. She knew he was trying to challenge her in general, his pierce gaze was easily felt. There just seemed to be something brewing behind his eyes that saw something she just didn't. Her eyes trailed down him and then up again. Her face expression gone of lighter hearted emotions. Her face read on the curiosity that he was shooting into her skin. Her soul. The fact that he was the smoke, the ash. Yet there was a hint of a flame of some sort as she was feeling something. Her eyes had to look away. The feelings were so strong. So strong. It was making it a little to hard to breathe and her head seemed a tad dazed. Her arms ran up with the goosebumps. The hairs behind her neck stood up and yet her eyes trailed back upon him. She shivered slightly. Mainly from the cold breeze, but because of the man. Whatever the meanings of these emotions. They were massive ones and oh, she had to seek more.
"So danger doesn't loom before me then? And I thought you were the one informing me of threats?"
Kory's own lips escaped laughter at his words. After he was the one to inform her of such things, which there was saying one thing and another doing it with actions. She jokingly questioned his danger that he probably had. It didn't nerve her and she knew there was something dangerous in him. For it was maybe why she hadn't been seeking to leave his presence. How dangerous he was? That Kory couldn't know. She so wanted to know if this was what was stirring around inside him. This fascination for Kory. Was he not feeling these intense emotions? She was sure such strong things he had to be feeling just a tad. She didn't dare to toy over the fact trying to offer him that story of how well she had encountered danger, she knew he was more being sarcastic and he had seen her rather skill battle. So her words in a way were just as sarcastic to him. She was sure she was getting hints their minds were just a little more a like than they were realising.
Kory let out a tight smile that she was glad to have shaken him and expressed her throw of the dagger was done with ease. Not a lot of effort. Her head turned. The metal had barely even scrapped his skin and she got him to remain still. But she had stirred something. She could tell. It was at least done out of entertainment. Her mind tends to trail, particularly when said conversations getting a little too heavy and one forgets to lighten up. His gaze upon her was creating more goosebumps, but other than that it was a rather pleasant gaze. She liked to get attention and get it by different means. Whether out of being liked or hated, attention was always nice. One wanted to know they had some effect on someone, let alone the world. Her own smirk soften. As his lips expressed what had happened. They amused her greatly. They seemed to have a somewhat of an understanding and a need to be amused. He was very good at it. She was sure it was beginning to linger in his thoughts as well. She expressed laughter at his words.
"Either way, it did what it was intended. Keeping of toes! Or am I wrong?"
Kory joked that she at least kept him on his toes. The action had taken him off guard and just reminding him just who he was in the presence of. To not just assume, anything. She wasn't any word. She wasn't any line. She wasn't any label he could find. She was made up of a lot of things and most important, he was just getting to know her. He knew as little as she knew about him. Then, there wasn't anything wrong with trying to figure out. To try and understand, just maybe not try and place someone in a box. That they hadn't the power to get out from the heavy weight that person had shut it with. No, he wasn't the target and thus far he wouldn't be. He had shown her no reason. Sure his words were possibly rude and his suggestions weren't overly pleasant. Although these had more amused her. But still he had showed very little if not any action behind any of these words. Smirking. Gazing. Chuckling were just expressions. They were a hint of truth behind words, but actions spoke at a greater depth of loud. It was how Kory truly judged anyone. Not so much by words or expressions, but by their actions. One can't be guilty for saying what was rightfully on their chests. He could call her every dirty name he could think of and she probably have no right to attack him. Not physically anyways. He was entitled to any and very word. It was just actions that truly spoke who someone was and yes, Kory knows everyone makes a mistake. But one needs to be treated fairly for their actions. Thus Forgiveness. Everyone makes mistakes and everyone doesn't go down a path not able to change it. The course can always be changed. But if someone makes a mistake or their actions hurt someone they needed to be given the right and fair judgement.
So no, Kory held no Malice and she was sure it would continue for the most part. Besides, there was something there inside him. That she wanted to know and understand. Understand why he said anything and everything he said. Everyone had a purpose and everyone deserved a chance. To be heard and she want to listen. To drive off of what drove him. He came across with this dark appearance, but there was some sort of passion inside him. It was maybe not the cookie cutter type passion, but it was defiantly passion. He was who he was. She got the sense, "Take me for who I am. This is me" and her response wanting nothing but. She admired this. This sureness. This pride that he knew his skin. His mind. He understood his reasonings. Kory was in ways confident. She had to be. She had no reasons not to be. She was given one life. Her own. She wouldn't sit on the sidelines and ponder over why? But she still didn't understand every part of who she was. She was still learning. Now she was free, there was more room for it, but in her capture she had learned more about herself, than she would have hadn't she been taken.
Her eyes watched him as her hands toyed at her swords. Fear? No. No fear. Thus yet. Her dagger had taken him by surprise, but it hadn't shaken him out of fear and nor the graze of her swords. He was unsure about her, that she knew and he was taking everything in what she said and did. He just didn't fear her. Just as she didn't fear him. Only differences probably was that she also didn't want to fear him. She had lingering emotions that he was probably not wishing she had, but he had little control as much as she did. Her entire form ran of goosebumps and tingles. As she stepped towards him. Her form so close to his. It was like the flame moving to the moth. He wasn't moving. He was possibly stuck in a gaze. Hypnotised by her movements. Her actions. Her eyes. Her hair. Just from her entire self. Her body stirred more. Trying to read into it more, but really trying to just take it how it was. The touch had come light and every inch out of thought. She meant to do it. Trying to touch something in this smoke to bring him a live. She had just seen signs of him and she wasn't satisfied until she saw at least a little more.
His cheek was rough to the touch. Imperfection of sorts, but it was rather opposite how she took it. His flaws to others if they were flaws, were not to her. What she looked upon, was him. As he should be. Just admiring the shear presences of who he was. Kory was sure she felt something underneath as she touched him. A flinch. A lingering thought. His gaze upon her. It made the hairs on her neck really stand up, but she was just ignoring them. Her desire to understand such things was greater. Just like he had said 'Fascinating'. It was what was said in her mind at this moment. He was everything and more that word meant. She caught the lump in her throat. The nerves he was creating was a nice change. He had changed the course of her life and it was a much in delight. Her light touch of the back of her hand, changed. As her palm then rest upon his cheek. Her thumb moved to graze his jaw bone. The ruffled hair. Her heart was beating faster. Who was this man? Why was he here? There had to be a reason. For he walks in from no where and sets a spark. He will defiantly be a lingering memory. Glory and pride walked in his path she was sure. She somewhat sensed, he was seeking to walk this path alone. Which she found a little odd as she wanted anything but to die alone. What events took place? More what actions happened to make him, maybe make him take this path. Did he choose this? Or had someone else made that choice?
Kory had barely noticed as his hand now held her wrist. As her mind was a little lost in thought and lost within his gaze. His presence. She had a small natural reaction to pull away. Tugged a bit to try and pull free, but his grip was tight and she hadn't the great desire to pull free. His grip hadn't toyed to heavily over in Kory's mind as she was a little too captivated by him. Though her eyes then trailed to where his tight grasp laid. His skin upon her own. It was maybe not in the most sensual ways, but it made Kory breathe heavily. She felt the slight discomfort, but through all the pain she had been through this was nothing. The pain was not such a bad pain. She knew there was part maybe he didn't wish to be touched. But she wondered if it was more. That he was surprised that she had wanted to touch him. As if it was going to make him more clearer in her mind. Understand him better. His face. His eyes were so close. Kory's lips parted slightly with little expression. Just a little in awe, kind of moment. He had this strange power to just to stop her and then confuse her. He wasn't the caring type, but she was. There was something about that, that seemed to almost send shivers up this man's spin.
Her ears took his threatening words to silence her and still she sought how these words were pleasurable not as much painful. His voice was so close to her ears. She heard every inch of expression. Such passion. Such power. He toyed and he was good at it. There was still truth, but mixed with maybe he was just overly expressing the truth. Stretching it just a little. Her face softened before him, as she seemed to forget her wrist was still bedded within his grasp. So far she was silent and it was his doing. As her lips almost smiled. Her eyes lingered to her wrist, as if wondering what had he expected her reaction would have been. Her eyes then returned to his still impressive stare. As if they were just challenging each other, still. She let out a soft laugh at the thought.
"Screaming is usually more fun! Although I'm not apposed to the silencing. Thus far you have me rather speechless"
Kory's voice expressed. Her eyes trailed to some nearby space above him. As she was rather amused by how she had said she was rather speechless, even though she was speaking. Was she making fun of herself? She was sure he got her meaning. She laughed again softly. She took her wrist back as he gave it. Her hand rubbed to help the redness from growing, but she soon dropped it out of her grasp. She knew she had little right to touch him. She just had the great desire to do it and she had to take it. It was worth it. To get a reaction just like that one. To get a better view on who stood before her. In such a unique stance.
"You don't even know me, so I'm not overly disheartened to hear you don't care... Then my gratitude for bringing such facts to my attention. It still lingers the hint of a thought, but I'll just take it with a grain of salt, shall I?"
She wasn't sure if he was implying that she thought he cared. She had only merely stated his wordings had suggested such things. Though her emotions shattered a tad, maybe she wanted him, to care. No, she shook her head. He did not know her. She did not know him. If he ever came to care about her, it needed to come naturally. This was maybe the teenager inside that was lost for so many years. Trying to latch on to the first sign of life. To latch on to someone that could care about her and not feel so alone in the world. She was rather young after all and her teen years more or less taken.
"If it helps in your cause to call me a fool. My name is Kory."
Kory hadn't offered to be given his name. She just wanted her name to be present so he knew who exactly he was giving such labels to. She wanted, if he was going to shut her into a box to at least be able to know her name. Of course names aren't overly important nor what makes a person, but it was her name. Take it or leave it. As he kept toying with her. Keeping her on her toes and on edge. He really was just trying to see just how foolish Kory wasn't. Although there was no harm in being foolish from time to time. If one couldn't see the mistakes and the silliness in once self, then they were taking life just a little to seriously. Although with his toying and his amusement from her words. Maybe he knew how to laugh more than he was letting on to believe.
"The fact I am here before you, alive. Is proof of anything but a weakness. Forgiveness is more powerful than you seem to claim. Holding on consumes the mind and the soul. Once in the situations that took me, you would understand what is the more important things in life."
He was questioning her. It was an intriguing thing. He was still making her stop and think. Fool? She had a mind more than he thought she did. She just wasn't consumed by it. It did not rule her. She led a lot of her life from her heart and the first emotions that came. A person had the ability to feel so much at one time. It was more a matter of not so much to understand them, but to embrace them. They were who someone was. To be a shamed of such things was to be shamed of who you are. That Kory couldn't do. Sure there are horrible things wrong with how her kingdom was and she was sure not all of her was of pure thoughts. They were her alone thoughts and hers alone. Thus was his. But, to claim she had been weak. Was false. Well, in her mind. She wasn't responding so much out as fact, she had her own opinion. But Kory knew she was standing before him; out of pure strength. It was anything but a weakness. If he had a crystal ball and glimpsed her past. She wasn't sure he'd want to keep his gaze. She had bared it, it was different. She made up her mind the day she was taken. To not break. To never break down. She knew she would escape. Her freedom was always around the corner. It was the matter of sacrificing herself to the pain and going through all the emotions, to get herself to the other side. To get her here.
"The weakness of my values?... The proof of the strength inside me is behind you and right here, before you. My values, my emotions may seem wrong to you, but they are anything, than strange. One should be wise not to place someone where they wouldn't place themselves. Or do I need to find a mirror?"
Kory was wondering how her values and her thoughts were effecting him. They clearly were to get such a response of words. He was trying anything but to offer his heart. His kind thoughts. What was it about forgiveness? That toyed with this man. What was with all this finger pointing? Kory didn't mind in the slightest if he was offended by anything she believed; they were hers to believe, not him. But to keep pointing and she was sure in most cases, its just a reflection. What was in his words and his pointing of fingers that gave light to seeking; maybe these were in him. She wasn't perfect. Kory was anything than perfection, but she figured he was anything then perfection himself. Surely if there was a mirror of sorts, he wouldn't say the image was all that clear. He was still alive. Which meant he was still learning. Still growing. She smiled and added a soft laugh. He was so alluring himself. Was there something he just couldn't forgive?
"What happened? That made you never to forgive? Forgiving, doesn't mean you forget."
Kory's eyes retraced him in curiosity and she showed it in her tone of voice. What possibly happened that he didn't forgive. She wanted to know. She was sure in due time her past would also find surface. A past shaped everyone. Not all pleasant and not all sweetness. They were challenges all in themselves. One needed to forgive and push away the shameful thoughts. The regrets. Everything someone did, they did for a reason even if it was a mistake. It was out. It had been done. You maybe able to take back with words, but you can never take back your actions. They can never be forgotten. But forgiven they can be. Now, she wasn't expecting he'd tell her all his deep dark secrets. She figured there be all too many. Kory did want to know. She had vast interest in him and that she wanted to express. The need to know him. It wasn't something Kory had planned. Kory never plans anything. She goes by her first instinct of emotions. Somewhere they had wished her to like him. To trust him. There was something even in Kory that she knew she could offer him. A thought? A lingering thought? A hope? A light in the dark? A new look in life?
We all meet people to find something that is missing in ourselves and Kory could tell there was a lesson to be learnt from him. There was something inside him that she wanted just a hint of, that she couldn't find within herself. He was Fascinating. What everything that word meant? That was him. She was nerved a little. More out of excitement and not knowing where this was all leading. But she was comfortable. Her footing not wishing to part from his presence. The conversation thus far was thrilling. He had to agree? They were strangely different it was seeming, but too much a like. Oh, she wanted just a little more insight of his world. So badly. What was ticking in his head? That gave him such power. A certainty about himself. If he was faking it, he was brilliant, but she doubted fake really even lingered a thought in him. He was who he was. Take him as he is and she still liked this.
Her body was facing away from his as he spoke. He questioned. He really was surprised. This, Kory picked up on. Her appearance was much who she was even on the inside. Open! She wore every emotion on her sleeves. But even her appearance can't always express who she is. She is honest and always positive thinking, but loneliness wasn't foreign to her. It was one thing she did fear. Her eyes appeared to the ground. As her mind played over his words. Her heart feeling every ounce of their weight. Feeling the emotions she got from even mentioning such things. Let alone having felt them.
"My world, that I once knew, is more or less, literally gone. I am free, but I haven't felt, more alone. Since I broke from my sister's hold. Even in a company as you put it, doesn't always mean your not alone or don't feel the loneliness. In the past years I have felt nothing but alone. My choices were anything but my own. I only had one choice. I could make and that was to survive, to endure the pain. Has it changed me? Sure. Shaped me? Of course. I have forgiven and I am moving forward, but it doesn't mean I forget, I remember it all... Loneliness, ah its probably one thing I do fear... I am sure that is a weakness? I guess I'll be trying to figure it out for a long time to come... "
Kory removed herself from her knees and turned to face him as she spoke. There was something tightened in the fact he hadn't attacked her. He was merely tightening the trust. Sure maybe she was a little naive and maybe without thinking it. Trying to latch on to him just because, he paid her with attention. Even a slight interest. Her words were not of anything toying and any response he would muster for it; Kory knew wouldn't hurt her. Her expressions showed just the sort of kindness of a soul, Kory had. She wasn't just trying to be alluring. If that was what he was seeing; then that was his deal. Kory was just being herself. She was comfortable in her own skin. Kory was getting more attracted to him and she did like to flirt. To show kindness. To have fun. To make things more joyous. Particularly as she had expressed her years of being underground, more or less. Kory hadn't had much of the letting her hair down. She didn't get to do the silly and crazy things that a teenager, should have done. She didn't have a choice with the said men. Why should that stop her from enjoying her full life before her? Their touch upon her skin wasn't the same touch from everyone else. Kory knew the differences. As her mind rang of such thoughts and expressed her words to him. She felt her shoulders relax. Finally having someone, whether he cared or not. His ears were listening. She could express what was on her chest. Instead of being left to build up and thus explode upon a beast to kill. Everything she does is from emotion. From within. Never planned. When she fought the beast. Yes, she had outer strength and skill, but her passion within her drove her to win the fight. And every fight she had won so far. She fought to the end. So it should be clear how well she faired so far.
Kory wasn't a woman seeking to corrupt him nor any man. She wasn't that kind of woman. She was just not one to be pushed around, but she knew men deserved to be respected. Just as she would want it upon herself. She wouldn't be pleased to bring someone to their knees. It was not right nor fair. She was alluring, because she was a beautiful woman. Confident in her skin. She liked to be admired. To make others feel good. To make the entire moment feel comfortable and welcoming. She wanted to hide nothing.
She motioned back towards him. Leaving the beast and its eye in the background. As she wondered if speaking of how Loneliness effected her would be a weakness in his eyes. She knew on a level it was a weakness, but for some reason she wasn't ashamed of this. She knew it was something over time she needed to sort out. It was maybe created from the remaining effects of her past. The scars so to speak, Kory just maybe blind to see them or avoiding them. Being so confident and wanting life like she did, wasn't easy. But it was the better way. Than to succumb to the dark, the sadness, the blame and the regret was to easy, it destroyed the soul. Kory wanted to be all pro life. It was a better revenge on the people that had damned her. Put her in the positions they had done.
She stopped short, some feet away. Her nerves were gone. She was simple delighted in his presence. Whether he cared for it or not. It was there. She smiled faintly. As she blushed slightly as she wasn't sure how he would take her words, but she had meant every word and she could thank him for bringing them out. But how? Did he have something he could share? Her eyes shifted off Coyly. Her lips softly smiled at the thought. She would like to know if there is any.
The presence behind him came looming behind him in one massive shadow. It hadn't taken her notice so quickly, as Kory's attention was stuck upon him. The second beast had come around, almost seeming from behind the tree Kory had sat at. Had it been stalking her? This entire time? Its presence and her reaction were all at a rush in a way. Her face fell into deep concern. Not at all about the damage or fear for herself. But for this man. Her heart beating faster as the beast seemed to be threatening his life. For some reason deep from her core, she had a deep need to protect him. It wasn't out of the warrior in her. Something deeper, than that. Before she knew it. Kory had pushed him out of the way and faced the beast head on, herself, body and all. The teeth just coming down to the man, but instead was met with Kory. Kory pressed her back closely to the front of the man. In her reaction she had motioned for her swords. but her need to protect him, didn't allow her that speed. Her eyes reading the concern as she drew out one of her swords, as the claws of the beast. Ran along her chest. Sending Kory deep through the air and landing a good distance from where the attack took place. There was a slight scratch upon her chest, that she paid no attention to. As her body landed with the front of her body. She grasped her sword. And turned as the beast made its way to her. Its moves were so fast. Kory was quick enough as the beast's jaw came chomping down she dug her right sword along its chest. Feeling the blood trickle down. As the beast rawing in the pain and its body seeming to come down to crush her. Her eyes seek an opening. As his claws pinned her arm. She must find an opening. With her sword. Kory swiped at the beast's arm. Causing another deep cut and causing the beast to call out. Something then seemed to have distracted the beast. It seemed almost like it was turning on to the man. Kory watched as the beast stepped away. Letting Kory with an opening to get back to her feet. Kory with her strength summersaults her body forward. Regaining to a low crouch. Her left hand with her sword in the grasp rested on the ground. One knee up with one foot planted and other knee upon the ground. As Kory's other hand reaches behind, to pull her second sword freely as she rises to stand.
Coming to be in position behind the beast with her two swords out. Ready for the attack. As Kory glimpses the man being stalked now by the slightly wounded beast. Kory's face smirks. It was going to be easier now with two on one, if not more thrilling. Kory was almost sure the man could pick up her stance and her smirk she gave towards his direction. As Kory's eyes traced him, then she refocused on the target at hand and her anger began to grow. With, Kory's eyes almost glowing and her hair almost in flames. This was the beginnings of the almighty, STARFIRE!

A man! A dog! A horse! No, two horses. What an unlikely party of a grouping. Though Kory knew to always expect the unlikely. She could just imagine the thoughts that run in his as her dagger ran along the throat of the beast. The blood gushing and Kory barely flinched at the sight. But she paid no heed to his thoughts. For now they did not matter. She wasn't about to bloom into some butterfly and be a woman she just wasn't entirely, but harsh. Strong. Hard. She wasn't just that easy to pin. For Kory even though she didn't much show it now as the back of her bloodied hand ran across her lips beside the man. There was a softness in Kory, probably more than there was of harshness within her. It was just, well hid for now. For she wasn't a woman trying to be a man. She was woman fighting as a woman. She did not wish to hide it. Whether this meant she showed the weaknesses of her gender, she knew his had weaknesses as well. No such man was that incorruptible.
Kory wondered if their pride in their such greatness was a huge weakness, that with the slight knock of it the man would crumble and wouldn't be able to deal with the weakness. Were their eyes upon her? For she only could see the 5 lizard's eyes upon her. She figured the slight attack of a dog bite was highly unlikely, right now anyways. Her eyes averted to the man's direction as he snorted to her words. Causing her to smirk. She couldn't tell whether he was amused by her or annoyed. For the battle at her feet was more taking her attention.
As she took her prey and in the heat of battle. There was the echoes of barks, metal scrapping and bone crunching. She hadn't focused upon this. Mainly just on her targets. Which probably helped cause her tripping. After the digging in her leg and her kick into its skull. As her head turned to make heed to her swords. To replace them back into her hands. She heard the sounds of the beast being finished off. The blur vision of another lizard from the corner of her eye. Kory came to her feet as the beast came towards her. Twisting herself that her blades moved, but missed. Cutting air. As the beast's skull crumbled before her feet and one of her blades came to aim at the strange man's neck. Stopping just in time. She froze a little. Her blade froze upon his neck. Her eyes finally grasping the man before her more clearly. Her face softened slightly as her eyes traced his kill then back to his face. The blood upon his hands, that had sprayed upon his body much as it had done upon her own. Her eyes shifted towards the large dog and dark horse. Intrigued by them. Her eyes then replayed upon him. After hearing his words. She kept her blade there, for a few seconds. Then her mouth smirked slightly, her gaze dropping a little and she withdrew her sword.
Regaining its stance upon her back along with the second one. She contemplated his words. The meaning. Need? Maybe, not. She had offered none the less and would have done it whether she knew he needed it or not. She wasn't about to argue her reasonings nor that he had needed help. Was there a point to that? She returned her gaze her head turned off slightly as she eyed him again. Letting out a slight breath of amusement and it was slightly out of her kindness.
"Kory!"
She extended her right arm to his. As to give some heed of a response to the his words that he did not know who she was. Her face softened more as her hand stretched out and her muscles flexed at the movement. Showing both a hint of beauty and strength. Although covered somewhat by blood which she had ignore still at this moment. She withdrew her hand. Placing her fingers between her lips. Sending out a slight whistle from her breath. Only a small whistle. The movement rustled with in the trees as her hand extended towards it. As the shrubs parted and out came the grey mare. Her eyes watched as it came towards to meet where they stood. Then ran her eyes back towards the man.
"She found me, I thought it only best to return her, home. Such a beauty to be lost in the woods. You should be more careful next time. There's a nest not 10 yards east from here, I wouldn't linger for long!"
She spoke as the mare came close to their sides. Her eyes looking towards her as she mentioned she found Kory. The mare's eyes looked to Kory a little differently than the man or the others did. The mare held what they didn't. A trust in Kory. An Understanding, Kory believed. She smiled to the animal as she was sure the animal was in a way returning the gesture. Happy to be home. It was maybe a strange grouping to others, but Kory could see the bond. The sweetness between them that tied them together. It was a family in a way. It was anything than Strange to her. Her eyes lingered over the mare as she spoke of her, her features soft as was her voice. Her eyes regained upon the man that loomed before her. He was a sturdy man. Standing his ground. Holding on his believes and what he thought was right with this world, that maybe not what Kory fit in for him. She didn't mind. She was in her own world, for now.
Her voice remained soft, but let out the seriousness as she extended her hand pointed in the direction of the nest. She knew it was there. Kory had heard of the whispers of the folk than knew about it. Also the signs around the area pretty much hinted at it. It was best not to linger for long, to attract even a larger battle. Kory was sure that was just a taste of the rest of the beasts. The next lot maybe a bit more aggressive. Her face softened again. As she was just offering her kindness and that on some level cared, even if he was stranger. She had no right to just be rude. To place Judgement on someone she did not know. From what she saw with his gifts so far she saw, he was a sought she could keep in her tight circle of trust. A friendship! An Alliance! It made her smile. For where did this man come from? That gave him such greatness. He was maybe a little too proud, but she like his certainty. She wished to learn how he came to have such a thing.
"I know there is a safe place a few miles from here. If you guys need, water?"
She extended her words to the group, particularly the animals as her eyes played upon his with her kind expressions. Maybe the animals would answer the question for him. How he'd take her kindness, Kory could only guess?

The day was high in the sky and it beamed through the cracks in the roof. Kory had decided for now to give up getting armour. She had tried some, but the weight was a little much. It restricted movements, but the thought of it still lingered. If it was easy to say she could wear it here and there. If carrying by hand was easy then maybe, but Kory seemed to be travelling more than she had thought. Such weight would just more harm her than anything. Besides, she wasn't one that liked to be covered. Though something to keep things in place was nice, although she had been known to fight with no clothes before. It was part of her training and in part the Valarian way. What if one was camping, naked and you were jump on. One needed to be prepared to fight no matter what position they were in. Even if captured, one needed to bide their time well until the moment arose. Which for Kory it had.
It had been maybe, what? A month. It felt like years. Since she last even glimpsed her grand city. Her people. The cell walls. The chains. Ok, she needed to stop trying to remember. Pondering was getting her no where. Where was she headed? That was the question, that she needed answering. So far everywhere. She had been finding help was needed vast across these lands. It usually did well to lurk in and around the woods. It seemed where many of it took place, although she was surprised how much actually took place in plain sight in some of the cities. Such a thing wouldn't of been tolerated in Valaria. Although there were still plenty wrong things about Valaria just as there were good things. Kory wasn't about to drag them out. Every city, every kingdom was flawed. Everyone seeking to better or learn from the last. She didn't think there would ever be a kingdom that would get it right, it was just a matter of, trying.
Though now Kory hadn't the stone walls to help fight her battles or the hundreds of valarian soldiers at her call. She was an alone warrior. Whom never needed to hide behind any wall. She was brave enough to face anything head on. In showing such strength and bravery, can actually result in scaring. For many bravery is an act. It isn't something that is so much on the strength on the outside, it was the inner strength. Death wasn't a reason to quiver. A reason fall to your knees and give up. Threats were threats. There was saying one thing, but it was the actions in the end. That truly showed who someone was. Kory was learning quite vast how people lied. How they hid, even from themselves. She just hoped such ways wouldn't rub on to her, that her ways would more or less remain. Again not all were maybe right, Kory was open to see things differently. Everyone had an opinion. Just as she had. She wasn't one to just play down who she was. If she could truly say who she was. Something spoke deep in her heart, that maybe the reason for living. She just wasn't all that spiritual, she guesses at times.
The sounds were the norm. The birds. The breeze in the trees. An odd sound here and there in the distance. Kory was learning quick that things were different here in a lot of ways. Then the stampede of hoofs fell through her path. The shift movements of light and dark grey, came first in a blur. Then the horse came into view. Something had spooked the horse. If hadn't been for her hands, Kory was sure it would have trampled her. As it stopped. Kory could still see the tension. The fear. From the rise of its lungs to the dead shot eyes. Its ears ever moving, picking up every sound. Its attention was maybe almost anywhere but Kory. Kory's hand tried to calm it by the stroke upon its hot neck. The muscles were tensing and the heat was easily felt. Though it relaxed. The horse bent its head to Kory. Seeking comfort. Kory smiled. The beast was safe. Though wondered where it came from. Kory let it nuzzle up to her hand which by now offered some of her seeds. Which then calmed the beast enough to trust her. Where was the rider? Where did it come from?
Kory didn't care to ride the horse. For she gathered there be a good chance she would need her feet before she knew it. Kory followed where the horse had come. It was far from any path, though the hoof prints it had dug were clear. The bending of branches and the misplacing of grass. The sounds of metal and voices could be heard. Faintly. Then in the distance in different directions. Kory saw dark shapes, the sound of the lizards passing swiftly through the woods to meet where she had heard the sounds. Kory tried to pace her steps to leave as little of a sound as she could. Until she was still well hid from any sighting, she could see the battle in plain sight. She was quick enough to catch the man's blade slide in place in the lizard's skull. It was so smooth and without much trouble. It was quite impressive. Though the true strength of these animals, Kory knew a part of. She saw the other lizards before even the group did. She saw the shadows make their way through into the small area. Surrounding the group. It wasn't a matter of questioning who any of them were. It was more just a matter they needed her help. An extra hand. The man appeared well skilled, but he still only had two arms. Kory could lend her own, plus the need of four weapons helped also.
Kory turned to the horse. Begged it to stay close by, but it was safer if it remained hidden. Horse listened to her trust and lingered by. Kory was sure this was more of a small group of animals. She heard word of the nest some yards away. It was maybe best to fight what they could and get this group of people moving before it truly became war. Kory knew just jumping out would be foolish. Before anymore thoughts. Her hands drove her up a tree. Feeling her skin get a little roughed by the bark, but her movements were well placed so very little damage was done. She sat at a good distance up. Kory could take the sight in much better. There was maybe six lizard beast, not including that laid close by the man. She knew she needed to come in and kill at least one within the first few blows. Make the numbers smaller. One down in a short time would help. As she scoured the tree she sat in and the area below. She could spot where a branch hung out above the warrior looking man and a beast that aimed before him. Her green eyes led her to the tip. She was lucky the branch was strong enough. Not a weak thin branch. There was a half of a second or maybe more she sat there. Waiting for the beast to be in as perfect position it could be. She heard faintly of what the man said and she smiled. It helped to have one just as brave. Though she wasn't about to walk off and leave him without helping. Even a warrior needed help on a occasion. Just many have to much damn, pride to ask it.
The large green scales came direct under her and a little further. So Kory took her dive. Feet first her body in almost a straight line, but soon made her body so it fell upon the beast's body in place. Just behind its neck. There wasn't a lot of time. For the second she touched it, the beast already was trying to throw her off. Kory took the dagger out which was strapped to her right thigh. Her right arm moved be in front of its throat. Running the blade deep inside dragging it from left to right, as Kory was grasped behind its head whilst the beast thrusted below her thighs. The cut was rather quick, but the skin and tissue was thick. Though her dagger was finely sharp, so it made it easier. Once after a little cutting the blade ran smooth and even smoother as the beast slowly sank. The blood streaming out, mostly missing her hand, but poured upon the floor of the woods. As the beast sank. Kory rolled of it before it did. Almost summersault backwards. Landing in a crouch position with the aid of her right hand in front which still bore the dagger under her palm. Her left hand was out from the side to balance her as she had landed. Her eyes at first hit the floor. They slowly came to see the man that had the pool of blood she had created at his feet.
Kory rose to her feet twisted the dagger in her hand before placing it back into its place. The breeze that had passed by hit her hair and it wrapped around her like fire before settling back down. Her hand never came up to fix any of it. Leaving her flames to move as naturally as they desired. For her body sang of the battle. The fire was already lit at her core. Her flames of her hair was only a hint of what simmered within. Her hands motioned to her back. If almost like slow motion the weapons show themselves to their champions as she presented herself to the warrior before her. She step towards him to fall beside him. Standing close enough. As the group was surrounded by the remaining five beasts.
"No! It begins and ends now!"
Kory called under her breathe as her eye caught sight of the man beside her and showed a slight smirk upon her lips. Now the games would begin. Although Kory wasn't one to just say games. This was life. She guessed in way life can be seen as a game, but it wouldn't be game over for her just yet. Though everyone seemed still. Was it her or were these men scarred. She let out a slight sarcastic laugh, for she knew neither be the case. Kory could tell just by how the man killed moments before. He wasn't one to give up, not so easily.
"Well, don't stop by my account."
She wasn't sure whom she was speaking it too. The man at her left or others behind. So the beast came closer. Before they started charging. Kory turned out of the way just in time as a mouth and claws head her way. The tail responding to try and trip her. She was half a second quick enough to jump it. The beast turned at its tail. Kory turned using her body swiping with one sword at a time for the first could of strides as she motioned around it as the beasts movements told her to do. Then as the beast swiped head on. Kory ducked her body. Allowing Kory as she came back up to run both swords along the beast's gut. The raws that had escaped its mouth before, were now piercing screams. As though the stomach was thick, Kory had enough strength to run them in deep. Spilling even more blood upon the ground. As the beast came back down with what little life that remained. It ran towards her. Making Kory fall backwards. Upon her back. Its mouth came so close she could almost feel its teeth. Though as it came to eat her. She had her swords ready pointed up and the beast had landed in place upon them. Allowing Kory little else than an extra push into the heart. The trickle of blood started and ran down the sword, her arm. Before marking upon her bare stomach. The beast gave one more attempt, but Kory pushed harder. Thus the beast grew more limp. Kory was quick enough as she pulled free her swords she rolled out of the way in time before she was crushed. Two down. She was maybe a little unaware of what took place for the others. Kory laid for a moment upon her stomach, with her swords upon the ground still grasped by her hands, the handles just under her chest. It helped to push herself up. Got to her feet as a beast came from behind. Kory twisted and ran a sword after another along its neck and feet. Though the wounds were only shallow. The beast ran a little passed her, but swung its tail. One of the men had ran into her. Causing her be tripped by the tail. Her head hit the ground hard, not to hard, but enough to leave her dizzy for a short moment. As another beast back at her whilst she was down. Her swords had escaped her. They laid close by, but enough that she was going to need to move to get them, which she wasn't sure she had a lot of time. Her eyes widened as the third beast didn't care. Kory rolled from her back to her stomach as she itched to crawl just the little way for her swords. She could feel and hear the steps of it closing on her. Which made her move quicker, but she was still dizzy which made it feel like miles. Even though her swords laid maybe a feet or few. Her fingertips were almost at the metal, before the claws swiped at her calves. A claw digging in enough to pull he back a little. Kory let out the scream from the pain that shot up her leg. As the beast retracted its claws to strike again. Kory turned and kicked at the beast. Nailed it straight between the eyes. Enough, but wouldn't hold it back for ever. Kory moved quicker to the grasp of her swords with the beast at her feet and another she could glimpse right now coming from the side. Kory finally felt them back into her palms. As she stood she made out to strike. Kory didn't have a lot of planning in her mind. She was sure she could take on two at once.
Music:Monster -- by ParamoreNotes:Its perfect. I just randomly said there is six beasts, you can change that if you wanted. I'm not overly sure whom Gael as with him, that part was only thing that confused me. so I figured one of his men knocked her over, not him or something... I sought of had in mind when she gets up in the end, gael slays the beast or something. Almost hitting air as she gets up I guess, lol
