Arthur had a restless night. Not that any of the past few nights had been restful. He was so incredibly relieved when the sun rose so that he would not be left on his own, letting his mind wander and circle around everything that was happening. So many times he thought of going to her chambers and just crawling into bed next to her. Next to his wife. Despite his worry for her, and continuous desperate desire to check on her, he knew he could not do that. He had already proved to be utterly cruel when he had made love to her, and then rejected her -- something that he had not nor will ever forgive himself for. He didn't know what the future held in store for them . . . but they were having a baby. They needed to focus on that. Only that.
He readied for the day, and had a few meetings before the time for their venture to the market came. He found himself feeling nervous. It was not the giddy butterflies he always had before in the seconds prior to seeing her. That nervousness, that feeling of being flustered and lost in her beauty every time he looked at her. No. He was nervous because he didn't know how to act around her. He didn't know what to say, what not to say. He didn't know whether to smile, or if he even could smile. Taking a deep breath and mentally preparing himself, he knocked on the door to her chambers. In a less cruel world, it would have been their shared chambers.

She seemed to genuinely like the name, and Arthur felt relieved at that. While she was still Guinevère, in her mind they had not grown together. They had no relationship, apart from that of a servant and prince. But that was only what was surfacing in her mind. In her heart, he knew she loved him, and he would do all it took to bring back her memory of that. "I'm glad you do," he said softly. She then mentioned not wanting to name the child after his own mother. Arthur just lightly shook his head in response. "I think it time the kingdom honored your family, not just mine." To name a son after his father, and a daughter after his mother. No. He of course loved his mother and would honor her in different ways. But he truly liked the name Anna, and he knew how much it meant to Guinevère to name their daughter after her mother.
"I am sorry Guinevère," he said, once more apologizing for the overwhelming information he was throwing at her. "I know that this can't be easy for you." To know that she is carrying a child with a man that she believed she hardly knew. After having her safe once more, and just having felt the baby, he wanted nothing more than to kiss her and hold her all through the night . . . but he couldn't. Not without being utterly selfish and making her uncomfortable. "Perhaps you should rest for a little while. I fear I have overwhelmed you." His words would have been a slight tease . . . if they weren't so true. If he didn't mean them. She had found out she was pregnant and married to the king. He slowly rose to his feet and offered his hand for her to take to lead her to the bed. He didn't want to leave her tonight. Even if it meant sitting right outside the tent . . . he didn't want to leave her.

This was just one of the many reasons Arthur loved her, and why she was so different most anyone else. She didn't expect -- nor want -- extravagance. She was genuinely happy with his company, rather than gifts and lavish, romantic dates. It made him want to give her that all the more, however was also well aware that she valued sentiment, above what gold could buy. He softly smiled at her words, unable to express how much he appreciated them. How much he loved her. She had been so understanding, so patient all these years . . . such things were what they needed to focus on. Not the events that drove them apart.
"Such moments were all I looked forward to each day." To those times when he could see her, talk to her. The castle had been so empty and cold without her. "But there is an undeniable comfort in knowing that we didn't have to hide anymore. That we still don't have to hide." While Arthur didn't want to make any sort of public announcement, nor even mention this to the council, he was king. He did not have to fear his father's disapproval and the cost that it would come at. It was as it had been before she left . . . only incredibly different at the same time.

Arthur felt like he was stuck in a dream. A horrible, terrifying nightmare; one that there was no escape from. He had never felt so lost in his entire life, than he did today. The day his father died. While the life of a king and any nobility was highly unpredictable, his father was taken well before he should have been. Though there was great honor in his death -- risking his life to save Morgana's -- that still made the loss no easier to cope with. Uther was gone. Camelot's king was dead. And Arthur would replace him. It was too soon. He knew that. Everyone knew that. He had been in meetings with the council for practically the entire day. Everyone was advising him on basically everything. They didn't say it but Arthur could tell; he could see it in their eyes and hear it in the tone of their voices . . . no one thought him ready for this role. And no one believed this more than Arthur himself.
With the king dead, Camelot as vulnerable. Their enemies would choose now to attack, and war was not too far. The council were advising him about truce talks, about treaties, about . . . marriage. Ah yes. They all thought it would greatly benefit the kingdom if he married for political gain -- as was expected of most all royals. But how could he even think of such things? Despite all the talking, advising, and whatever other discussions ensued, all Arthur could think about was his father. All he could feel was his heart aching at an unbearable rate. His father was gone from this world, reunited with Igraine. Yet there was another thought that was not so far removed . . . and that was the truth about Morgana. That she was in fact, his biological sister. The shock of the news had been numbed by the pain of Uther's death. And Arthur just didn't know how to cope with anything.
He was incredibly grateful when night came, for he would be able to retire to his chambers. He sent Merlin early, not wanting to talk to anyone. No. That was untrue. There was one person he wished to speak to, yet he knew that there would be no reply. Clad in trousers, boots, and a casual white shirt -- with his sword in his sword belt around his waist just in case -- Arthur made his way to where his father's body was being held until the funeral tomorrow. Everything felt different, but it all felt so wrong. He knew that one day he would be king, he just hadn't expected it to be this soon. No one had expected it. Making his way there with a torch in hand, he chose the path that would be the least populated, for he did not wish to speak to anyone right now. He did not want to hear them express their sympathies. As kind as it was of them, Arthur's heart couldn't bare it.
As he entered the crypt, he'd been so lost in thought that it took him a second to realize that someone else with his father. The light from his torch made them recognized, yet Arthur would easily recognize her anywhere. "Morgana," he said, unsure as to what emotion came out in his voice. Perhaps there was an array of emotions. Perhaps there was no emotion at all. "If you, require some time alone with him, I can return later," he offered, unsure as to whether she would be welcoming of his presence, or in refusal of it. He had not had the chance to speak to her a lot today, nor did they have the chance to mourn together. Seeing her now made the truth resurface in his mind. Morgana was his sister. And they had both lost their father today.

Such a day was not a common for the young prince. It wasn't the sunny weather -- for that was not unusual for the beautiful kingdom -- nor was it the fact that he was outside the city on a hunting trip. It was the fact that he was alone. Such a status was seemingly impossible. As a prince, he was expected to almost always be protected or at least not targeted by keeping the company of others. But sometimes, he just needed to get away from it all. He had told his servant that he was going on a hunting trip, telling him to use whatever excuse was necessary should anyone be looking for him. Clad in his hunting attire -- that which consisted of dark colored trousers, a red shirt, dark brown leather vest, and gloves -- he looked like an ordinary citizen. Which was what he wanted. True, he acted his arrogant self at times, but in reality, he cherished moments like these where he didn't have to be a prince. Just a man.
He had been riding for who knows how long. It was late morning and the weather was extremely agreeable. He slowed his horse to a halt as they approached a nearby stream, to give his companion a moment to take a drink and have a rest. Dismounting, he took hold of the reins and let his horse closer to the stream. The animal was trained enough so that it did not make a run for it, but Arthur stayed close, patting the stead's neck as it drank the refreshing liquid. Suddenly, a sound disrupted the peaceful silence. The sound of men. Arthur's head jerked in the general direction of these sounds, for they were not too far, but far enough that Arthur could not see the source of them. Quickly tying the reins on a nearby tree. he then pulled his sword from the holder on the saddle and slid it into his sheath.
Quietly and cautiously, he began to move toward the sounds. As he drew closer, he could hear a group of men, laughing about something. Taking the concealment of a tree so that he was hidden from view, Arthur could now finally see what was happening, and it did not make him hide for long. There was a group of men indeed, but they were standing around a young woman, who was dressed in a poor state and evidently afraid. Not wasting another moment, Arthur revealed himself, pulling his sword out and holding it up as he approached the scene. "Unhand her," Arthur stated, a natural authoritative tone to his voice. It didn't matter whether any of them recognized him or not. He refused to let these men torment her any longer.

HEY Freya!! I was wondering if you would be interested in having a thread with Arthur!! I know that they had basically no interaction on the show (apart from when he saw her transform) BUT what if we had a thread set before she enters the city?? Maybe in the woods or another village or something?? If you have any specific ideas, let me know !! If not, then I can brainstorm off of that basic one OR if you don't want a thread at all, feel free to say no !! hehe! I won't be offended, promise !

She was growing more and more hesitant with each passing moment. He wondered if it was because she was slightly calming down, or if she felt like this at most times, and this was just the first instance that she had come to him. "I don't," he assured her, when she told him not to make promises that he can't keep. "I do not give my word on my honor, without truly meaning it." For that was all a man had: his honor. "Morgana, something compelled you to come to me with whatever is evidently troubling you." Even if it was just for a brief second . . . something convinced her that it was alright to come to him. And he wanted to focus on that trust, rather than what she feared the consequences would be of her telling him whatever she was not.
"Do you lack so much faith in me, in us, that you think I would see you as any less then someone I greatly care for?" He didn't want her to feel like revealing one thing would forever alter the way he felt about her. "Let me help you," he added softly, wanting more than anything to be there for her; to share with him what was clearly causing her so much pain. "Please," he added, all but begging for her to open up to him.

This was one of those extremely rare moments that the prince was out on his own. No presence of guards, fellow knights, or even a manservant. As rare as these moments were, they were needed every now and then. Being in the city could be . . . suffocating. He knew what his father would say to this: that a prince should not waste his time doing such foolish things. But if this meant he was a fool, then so be it. So much was expected of him, that he needed time away from that feeling of being constantly watched. A relaxing hunting trip would do just the trick. With his horse safely secured, he was currently on the trail of what the tracks indicated was a deer. A rather large one as well. He could hear the gentle snapping of twigs and rustling of leaves.
With the thick woods ahead, Arthur knew that there was no way he could go through without alerting the deer that was most likely in the nearest clearing. He needed to move to higher ground, or at least a higher line of sight. Glancing around, he saw a tree. Well, obviously there was a tree -- many in fact -- since he was in the woods. But this particular tree had enough branches placed strategically enough for him to climb. After all, Arthur had climbed enough castle walls and trees were far easier. So, with great ease -- a bit like a monkey -- and strapping his crossbow around his back, he quickly climbed up the tree. Straight ahead the deer. Positioning his crossbow, he aimed it at the neck of the deer, a position that would give it a quick and painless death. However, the deer's head jerked up and its ears twitched. And it wasn't Arthur's fault.
But nor did it take long for the hunter to also hear the sounds that disrupted the silence. And even see it. Below on the path, was a woman on a horse, racing forward. Right behind her revealed why she was going at the speed she was. She was being chased. Thoughts of hunting the deer immediately fled his mind. Whatever was happening down there, he needed to stop it. Whether the woman was in the right or wrong, she was a woman. And Arthur could have sworn he saw at least one of the men readily armed. He ran toward the direction of the path the riders were currently on. His extensive knowledge of the woods allowed him to know exactly where he needed to go to be in the most advantageous position.
Staying on higher ground, he ran and ran, until he could see in the distance the men approaching. Hiding behind a tree, he had to quickly determined what the best course of action was. He didn't want to shoot them, despite the threat they posed to the young woman. But he did need to disarm them, at least the one who was already shooting arrows from it. Arthur prepared himself, waiting and waiting . . . until the moment the armed ride was about to pass him. Arthur jumped from his elevated position right onto the saddle -- a rather uncomfortable landing -- but he was at least seated properly. The unexpected company caught the man off guard and Arthur shoved him off the horse. He had a bit of a rough fall considering the speed at which they were going at, but at least it was better than shooting him. And now, the man didn't have his cross bow.
Arthur took hold of the reins and hurried forward, passing the other men and soon catching up to the girl. He then quickly pulled one side of the reins and positioned his horse -- or his currently borrowed horse -- directly in front of her. Hopefully her reflexes would urge her to stop in time before there was a collision. What he did need to do was stop the chase and determine the cause of it. "What is going on here?" He asked, blocking the path for the girl and the men chasing her. As he was not too far from her, his eyes quickly searched over her to ensure she was unharmed, for his concern was for her and the threat the men posed. Then again, she could have broken the law, being chased for justice to be served. Something inside of him did not feel that was the case though. He was clad in his hunting attire, consisting of darkly colored pants, boots, a blue shirt, a dark brown leather vest on top, and gloves to cover his hands. For those who had never seen him in his royal position, he would be unrecognized as the prince of Camelot.

Hey All!! SO I thought I would start a new graphic request thread!! For those who don't already know, I am OBSESSED with making graphics!!! heheh!! So with that said, I am taking requests for anything and everything!! Whether you would like a signature, an icon, posting layouts, etc! Just shoot them my way!! If you want your request done quickly, then I would request that you PLEASE be as specific as you can!! If you totally leave it up to me, sometimes that can take a TINY bit longer cause I have to think and narrow stuff down !! SO if you're able to be specific, here are a few of the questions I would ask:
Text Color? (Usually I just go with the color of your username/posting color and sorta try to theme things around that! But its always good to check )
Gifs or Stationary Images? For canons, I usually make gifs!! For OCs, depending on where you muse is from, I can also make gifs ! If you don't want gifs, then I can just do edits as well ! Thats noooo problem at all!! Just let me know if you have a preference !!
Scene To Use? Certain Shots? I would ask that you pleassee tell me what scenes you like, especially for canons!! You can request like 10 different scenes even, and I'll make you 10 different sigs! Its just SO much easier if you help me narrow it down !! If you are REALLLYY stuck, then just be like "A sig where they're happy" or something like that ! If you give me the mood, I can usually work from there!! Or even "a scene where they're in the woods!" Any sort of theme will help if you REALLY can't decide!
Text? If you have a certain quote you'd like to use (said by the character or not) OR if you want lyrics from a certain song!! If you don't want any text, then thats totally fine too!! Just let me know if you have a preference!!
Annndd thats about it!! Those are just some things to give you ideas and help visualize it!! If you're super stuck, and want to give me all the creative freedom, thats totally fine !! heheh!! Hopefully I won't disappoint you !
Below are some examples of sigs I've made!! And if you want to see more of my graphics, feel free to check out my blog, HERE!! And I tend to post an obscene amount of graphics on the site too!! So if you see a certain style I used that you like, let me know !! THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR ANY REQUESTS <333

Arthur still couldn't believe that Merlin felt he gave him too much credit, when the warlock had done so much that went unacknowledged. "Quite the opposite, Merlin," Arthur admitted. He didn't give him enough credit, never had for all he had done. It made Arthur all the more grateful for returning . . . so that he could set things right. So that he could have more time to do so. He looked at his friend, still honored by the words he spoke; of how highly he praised him. Words escaped him for there were none in the English language that would do justice to how much Merlin's words touched him. Arthur had never been good at expressing his feelings verbally, so he hoped that some of the emotion was evident on his expression. After a brief silence, he continued. "The latter," he corrected.
"For you are my servant no more." Trying to lighten the mood, Arthur continued. "I think I'll have to sack you. Or promote you, I should say." Though Arthur's words were said with a lighter tone, he meant them. Though he did not know Merlin's current position. Did he still work at the castle? Did others know of his magic? Arthur slight smile faded when Merlin spoke of how he wished he could have been there . . . and how Arthur had been disappointed in him. Arthur could not deny that. Even without realizing Merlin's full potential, he had still depended on him a great deal. He hadn't known what had kept Merlin from going into battle with him, though now he knew that whatever it was, it was completely understandable. "You have nothing to explain Merlin," Arthur assured him.
"I never believed what you told me, yet could not understand where you had gone. Now I do. And it is I who should be apologizing for ever doubting you." While he may not have known exactly where Merlin went, he knew it was important . . . and undoubtedly was related to the battle somehow. "You mentioned a prophecy . . . " Arthur said, suddenly remembering Merlin's words of how he had thought he defied it. "Was what happened," -- Arthur's death -- "foretold?" Was it really inevitable? Unchangeable? Was he even meant to come back? He didn't know if Merlin had the answers, but he also knew that if anyone would know and could be asked . . . it was Merlin.
Arthur smiled with amusement when Merlin mentioned his boots wandering off. "I have yet to learn, and witness, what you're capable of. I'm actually rather intrigued by the thought." Never did Arthur think the day would come where he would smile about such a joke regarding the use of magic. Yet, it felt good. To embrace it. To know that it existed within a man that Arthur considered his brother. After seeing the corruption of its use by Morgana, Merlin was the exact opposite: proof that it could be and was used for good. "Then if we are brothers, you would stop calling me Sire," Arthur teased. Though he no longer wanted to hear Merlin use that title. No formality between them. Not when Arthur owed him so much and Merlin continued to prove how great his strength was. Arthur then listened to him explain that it was about a day long walk, and suggested staying at an inn to rest.
"We'll see if it is needed," Arthur said, though knew that Merlin was most likely right. Rational. That was something that hadn't changed. "I would rather not send word to Camelot yet. I think it best if we first see Guinevère, and then slowly approach the others." He didn't want to cause panic. He'd rather quietly enter the city, and see his wife first. "Do they know?" Arthur asked, wondering if his return was something that people had been expecting. "How did you know, that I would be here today?" He asked Merlin. For the warlock had come here today, yet Arthur did not know that it was something that was habit for Merlin.

Arthur had never known a more humble man than the one that stood before him. How quick Merlin was to take the focus off of him; to dismiss all that he had done. Arthur thought of those few times that he'd given Merlin the credit for doing something heroic. He always knew the man was brave, but now realizing the extent of it all . . . Arthur wished he could somehow go back in time and give praise where it was due. Yet at the same time, he knew it took that time that they grew together, in order to be where they are now. If he could take back time, it would be the years he had spent in darkness before being awoken now. Merlin's words did cause a soft smile on Arthur's lips, and a bit of a nod, for he truly did not know what to say. What was there to say to such a great man, who's worth was so unknown to all?
And as if his words were not astonishing enough, Merlin continued on to say that he owed him nothing. That he did what any man would have done. That . . . he felt Arthur was worth it. Worth all those times that Merlin had nearly died for him, risked his life for him, was willing to sacrifice himself for him. And Arthur knew that there were far many more times than came to his conscious mind. He felt the sting of a small tear come to his eyes at the amount of faith Merlin had in him; the honored that filled Arthur was far more than he was capable of expressing. "That is where you are wrong. For I do not know another person who would have done all that you did." He had the power to do so much, and he had done it . . . without seeking recognition. If that wasn't greatness, then Arthur didn't know what was. At the mention of being a clotpole, Arthur gave a slight chuckle, the familiarity of the mocking word bringing such ease and comfort to his mind. "I fear what could happen if I am so quick to retaliate," Arthur said jokingly.
He now knew that Merlin had magic, who knows what he would do with it . . . though in truth, Arthur was not afraid to criticize him back. They were still brothers after all. "Many years ago, my father told me that on my journey to becoming king, I would need a guardian angel." The words had never left his mind, for it was after Arthur had nearly died, yet still knew that someone was looking out for him. Looking intently at Merlin, he continued to speak. "I am honored beyond words to be standing in his presence." For he knew now, just who that guardian angel was. Keeping his gaze on him for a few moments, Arthur took a deep breath and attempted to walk, taking a small step forward to test his strength. "How far are we from the city?" He asked, feeling rather disoriented and therefore, unsure as to what their exact location was.

Merlin's words rung in Arthur's mind, though his response was silence. He couldn't kill a defenseless man like that. He'd once done so with Caerleon and came to regret it. How could he just shoot Mordred like that, when the boy was clearly no threat. And that was exactly what he was . . . a boy. Well, perhaps now better described as a young man. Arthur only prayed that he would not regret his decision . . . though he also knew that he most certainly would have been filled with regret had he done what Merlin suggested to him. Merlin's words were often wise, yet these ones, Arthur had to strongly disagree with. Lost in thought, he hadn't even heard or noticed Merlin collecting snow, until Arthur felt something hit him in the back. He paused, before slowly turning around, glaring at Merlin.
"You just struck the king of Camelot!" He accused, knowing that he only threw his title like that when it was convenient. He seldom -- if ever -- actually threatened Merlin with his position as king. Though he did often give him a list of endless chores as he was his servant. But really, was that the same thing? Quite honestly, Arthur was glad that Merlin's mood had seemed to lighten a bit. He had seemed so much more quiet and reserved than usual. Ever since they had embarked on this journey. Arthur wondered if something was troubling him or if he was just worried for the knights like Arthur was. After all, Gwaine and Percival were Merlin's close friends too. Arthur reached for a pile of snow, but instead of throwing it at Merlin -- considering that Merlin's reflexes were quite advanced after all the practice Arthur gave him -- he marched toward Merlin, and smothered the snow right onto Merlin's face. Whether Merlin could see or not, Arthur was smirking, clearly quite proud of himself.

Despite Merlin's attempt to dismiss the subject, Arthur wasn't quite done with him yet. "Is it . . . better?" Arthur asked looking at him, clearly disbelieving Merlin's statement of his limp having healed. Arthur wasn't sure he wanted to hear the details of how Merlin got that limp, sometimes the man could be ridiculously clumsy. But that did not stop the king from continuing to dig for information. "Ah, reminding me of my training so that you can go sneak off again, thinking I won't notice?" He asked, smirking at his friend. "She must be very special if you were willing to ignore your duties for days. Tell me, where exactly did you even meet her?" Arthur thought he was keeping Merlin so busy that he wouldn't have had the time.
On the surface, Arthur was of course teasing him. Inside, Arthur was actually quite happy for him. Arthur knew first hand the impact of falling in love. And while Arthur had no idea how serious Merlin was about this girl . . . it had to be somewhat serious if he'd disappeared for days to be with her. For all the times Merlin had covered for him, and helped him be with Guinevère . . . Arthur knew that if this continued, he would need to show some leniency and give Merlin some freedom . . . some being the operative word. But that was a conversation for another time. Right now, he was enjoying the teasing far too much.

There was a certain . . . joviality, lacking in Merlin's words. While Arthur could be quite oblivious at times, Merlin's mood wasn't all too difficult to read . . . sometimes. Other times he was down right impossible. He liked to think that he knew his friend well enough to be able to tell when something was wrong, and right now, something was definitely wrong. "You sure about that?" Arthur asked jokingly when Merlin spoke of how it was better than being dead. He meant it in more of a sense that Merlin was looking . . . well, less than happy. "Come on now, don't make me beat it out of you," he threatened, though obviously he would never do such a thing. Merlin was far too delicate. One small punch on the arm and the man could bruise like a peach.
"Seriously," Arthur said, his voice becoming less teasing and more sincere. "What's bothering you, Merlin? I know theres something. Tell me." Prior to befriending Merlin and falling in love with Guinevère, Arthur had not been used to speaking about his troubles, to express what plagued his heart at times and what emotions burdened him. But since gaining Merlin as a friend . . . and then being with Guinevère . . . amidst the many things that they had both taught him, it was that it was alright to talk about his troubles. That he never had to bear the burden alone. Arthur wanted to do the same for them, now specifically Merlin. He wanted to be here to help lift whatever weight was on his shoulders. It may not be the same as his own, but as a friend, he wanted to help. For it's what friends do . . . it's what brothers do.

Words could not describe the concern that filled Arthur's heart in seeing Morgana in such a state. She was such a strong woman . . . and he seldom saw her like this. Perhaps it was because she masked it from him, but regardless, it made him all the more desperate to do whatever it good to calm her and bring peace back to her mind. Something was gravely troubling her, and her words only created more concern in him. She told him he was a good man, and while Arthur did not doubt the sincerity of her words, he wondered what had prompted them. They filled him with a strong honor and privilege that she felt that way . . . but right now, it was not about him. It was about her. He kept his hands on either side of her arms, right below her shoulders, gently rubbing them in attempt to calm her and ease her trembling. "Morgana, I could never hate you," he said quickly after she voiced her fear in that he would. How could he ever hate her? What could she possibly tell him that would make her afraid that he would?
While he would not admit it, he was starting to grow afraid. But his appearance remained poised, for he knew it would be no help if he showed any semblance of that fear. "You can trust me," he further assured her. He knew that his father and her often had their differences, and he would never want to do anything to create more of a tension . . . nor could he betray either one of them. "Whatever you say, will stay between us. I swear." On his honor, he swore. "You don't have to be afraid. I'm here. And I promise that whatever you are going through, you need not endure it alone." She never had to be alone. Whether it was Uther, Guinevère, him, or another friend of hers who comforted her . . . Arthur never wanted her to feel alone. "We've grown up together, we've been through quite a lot together," he said, a very light tease in his tone and slight smile on his lips, implying the fun and silly adventures they had and arguments they engaged in when they were younger. "We will get through this together as well. I promise." Of that, he was certain. After all, how bad could it be?

Arthur felt relieved to hear that he was not disturbing his friend . . . yet at the same time, knew that Elyan was far too kind to ever tell him otherwise. Still, Arthur was glad it was due to Elyan's nature rather than an obligation to not deny their king. He'd always rather be seen as a man and a friend in front of his knights, rather than their sovereign. He felt he somewhat succeeded with that. "Thank you," Arthur said, approaching Elyan and pulling out a chair to sit on as Elyan continued to speak. He knew it should come as no surprise that Guinevère's name was mentioned so quickly in their conversation. Apart from seeing how Elyan was recovering, Guinevère was the other topic that Arthur had to discuss with him. So in a way, he was grateful that Elyan brought it up. For the time of her banishment, Arthur refused to hear her name, and none of the men dared speak it. Except for Merlin . . . but even then, it was not well received.
"I came to speak of the very subject as well," Arthur confirmed. Knowing that it was an awkward subject indeed, he wished to relieve Elyan's mind as quickly as possible. If anyone deserved to first hear of Guinevère's banishment being lifted, it was her brother. He paused for a moment, quickly contemplating how best to phrase his words. "I do not intend to force her to leave." He didn't want to use the word banishment for even while that had been what it was, now with having fully forgiven her . . . the word sounded too harsh in Arthur's mind. "Her home is here, with her family." With her brother of blood and her other brothers of heart and . . . with him. For if she would have him, Arthur wished to make her his wife. The other subject that he needed to discuss with Elyan. But, one thing at a time.
