Arthur had disappeared somewhere into the castle. With everything else that had happened of late it did worry her--you never knew where Morgana would find a way in. Yet she trusted that he was taking whatever time he needed to make a choice. A choice that would define his future, and the rest of his life. So to give him space, Guinevère spent time with her brother. They walked the city, looked at their childhood home . . . . let Gwaine find the tavern, and the pretty barmaid. Guinevère decided she liked Gwaine. He had a way of taking the seriousness of life and making it humorious. He also flirted with everything! It was good to smile when things were so . . . . big right now.
They were returning to the castle when Percival, who had stayed behind to talk with some knights that he'd befriended, came running to tell them that there would be a coronation. Arthur was going to be king. Apparently Percival had tried to talk to his friend but with everything happening to fast and with Arthur being king now, he couldn't get to see him. "How long do we have?" asked Guinevère, who was used to things happening in the castle, far more then they were. She had just over an hour! So she sent each man off with a mission!
It helped that Arthur had so many friends. It helped that she was used to getting ready for grand events and knew just what needed to be done. It helped that because of her postilion with Morgana people still listened to her--though they hesitated for a moment before doing so. She looked unloyal, she knew. Everyone had saw her as Morgana's handmaiden and loyal friend. She'd stood by Morgana when Morgana had ruler with crass and hate. Now she readied for a knew king, with ease. They didn't know she'd aided Leon. Not many did. Yet they still did as she asked, and she realized that some did it out of habit, some did it because they didn't know what else to do; but many did it because they trusted her---and that humbled her. To know that others, while not told what she was doing, had seen she wasn't like Morgana.
At the end of the hour, the room was readied, the crown was polished, and Arthur's friends were clean (a job she'd given Gwaine was to find them clothes that didn't smell like they'd lived in them for days) . . . . (She wasn't going to ask WHERE he found them on such short notice). The sunlight came into the room from the wide open windows to the sides, and the room had a brightness that it never had with Morgana. The red banners were clean, and bright with new fabric (a job she'd given Percival since he could help get them up). Sefa and Rosa, two friends of Guinevère's, had helped him by quickly sewing them together. The throne, which was made of gold and red, had been cleaned, with garlands of flowers draped around the single chair; on the right (the king's powerful side) was the Pendragon seal. On the left (the side of the king's heart) was his mothers--Thank you Elyan, a blacksmith who made it from memory!
They were in the back, since only knights were allowed in the front. As Leon entered, Guinevère stepped out toward him and spoke in a low voice. Leon looked behind her at Arthur's friends, and then nodded; moving his friends (and her!) toward the front. When another questioned it, Leon told him that these people were personal guests of the king's! No one questioned it after that!
Everything was ready! Now they just needed the Once and Future King!

His words humbled her, for even when she'd betrayed him, he'd not touched another. Refusing to think on that night, she instead thought of his love, that kept waiting for her, even when his mind had tried to move on. She wanted to make the same promise, and in her head and in her heart she did. Yet she would never trust herself compleatly. "As mine for you," she could promise this, for she was still a virgin, and had let no other touch her. She'd waited for him. Only wanted him to touch her like this. Even when she'd given up home and worked on the farm. Even in Eldor where she'd gone after Helios, even that night.
He pulled her dress down, and it fell to her hips, clinging there from the tight waist. She moved her hands to push it down, and to give them something to do. Arthur was looking at her. While covered from her shift, she still had never been this exposed to anyone before. Yet, as she'd seen him sans-clothing before, it was only fair he looked now. She felt nervous, and stared at his face. Did he like what he saw? She wanted him to think her beautiful, and he did . . . when she was in a dress. He said so. Yet now, without the pretty wedding gown on . . . . did he still?
His lips touched her shoulder, and she inhaled slowly as a new deeper heat mixed with a pressure between her legs. She felt herself growing wet, as anticipation kept building.

Arthur watching her as he undid her laces was the most erotic and sensual thing she'd ever done. Having his blue gaze hold hers, while she knew his fingers were removing the laces from her dress, slowly getting her closer to being naked before him for the first time was a heavy, and eager thought!
Her breathing slowed, and her hands moved to rest on his chest, as she began to move in a slow but firm path from his chest, to his ribs, to his belly; before moving up to his ribs, and higher to his shoulders. "I've spent my life around knights and blacksmiths." She told him in a soft almost whisper, "and yet I've always loved how strong you've felt and how soft you're touch was." He had slain dragons, and yet touched her with care. It made her feel things, that she'd never quite felt before. Leaning forward she kissed the side of his neck, before resting her face there, giving him a chance to finish her laces.

Guinevère felt the heat from their kiss move down lower, lingering in her belly before it settled between her legs. Ever sound of his breathing only made this moment more special and stronger. They didn't hurry, as they kissed and savored the kiss that reflected their journey here. Slow, but strong. Arthur broke the kiss to look at her, and she smiled at him. Yes, she was ready for this to be more then a kiss. she loved him for asking!
His fingers moved up her back, and Guinevère forgot to breath for a few seconds as she realized this was more then a kiss. She'd known it would be, but the first action that separated this night from so many others; was the laces of her dress. Breaking the deep kiss, she looked up into his face, feeling nervous and . . . ready. Her fingers touched his face, loving the expression she found there before she turned, and pulled her hair from her back to help him better unlace her wedding gown.

He walked slowly toward her, and Guinevère inhaled slowly to match each step. This was the moment. This is where it began. His touch was light, and set her skin on fire while at the same time wasn't enough. She wanted his touch everywhere, yet she didn't want this moment hurried! While she knew they'd be wonderful together, there was a nervous flutter in her belly. His eyes moved to her lips, and she found her face slightly tilting up toward his as he lowered his head! The kiss was light, and perfect for the moment.
Her hand lifted to rest on his arm, as her lips mingled with his. He tasted like fine wine, and a warm heat that was rich with flavor. Lightly her tongue tasted him, keeping the kiss soft at first. Her other hand lifted to rest over his ribs as she moved off the bed pole to lean into him as well. Her face tilted slightly as the kiss deepened without speeding up. Her fingers at his ribs tightened in his clothes.

Guinevère turned and walked into the room that she's entered so many times before and paused--because it was nothing like she'd enter so many times before. Before the room had always looked so manly and . . . empty in parts. Arthur had favored a more minimal look, and now the room was filled with candles and the small of flowers! Petals were on the floor and bed, and everywhere she looked where garlands of flowers accenting the room. Guinevère walked a few steps in, and slowly turned to take it all in; only stopping when she'd turned to face him.
It was wonderful! With a small laugh, and licked her lips. "This night truly will be beyond anything I could dream!" She told him, loving the effort that he put in to making this beautiful and romantic! The candles gave the room a soft slow, and it reminded her of the time he asked her to be his wife.
Reaching up she unpinned her veil, and set it safely on a chair near by, before moving to walk to the bed. Staring at it for a moment, she turned to lean on the bed pole and stare at him. "Will you join me?"

Her chambers? They would be gone tomorrow, and she had already had her things for tomorrow taken to his--to their chamber. Guinevère smiled up at him, and shook her head, as they walked down the hall. She wasn't looking where she was going, relying on him to guide them as she could only continue to smile from today. "I have no need to visit," she told him, wishing to begin their lives together in their new room.
She had to look away from him when they reach the steps, as falling would ruin tonight. She remembered the first time she climbed these steps, and feeling so small compared to the citadel's size. Now it was her home, that she would share with her husband. As they neared the door, she slowed her step, and then slowly came to a stop. "I feel as if we've waited for this moment for so many years . . . " she din't know quite how to explain it. On one hand she was so ready for this moment, and on the other hand she worried it wouldn't live up to the expectations.
"I love you," before they begin, she needed him to know again. Needing to kiss him, to feel the peace that came with his love before they entered the room where he would make her his wife in more then just name, Guinevère stepped into his arms and kissed him in the hall.

Guinevère loved tonight! She danced until the evening begin to turn to night, and most of them was with her husband. He was on her arm the whole night, and they laughed, and teased, and were happy the whole night! She danced with her brother, and shared a drink with Gwaine, and laughed with Percival. Leon spoke of her mother, and the whole night was a dream! The most wonderful and perfect dream she ever had!
Arthur spoke to her, asking if she was ready; and while the answer was always yes she hesitated before answering him. Not from fear, or nerves but in anticipation. Smiling up at him, she nodded her head. "Yes," she told him, no longer as bold as before since they were about to walk out of the room together--and everyone would know what that meant. She could pray they didn't walk past Gwaine--who might have disappeared with a lady.
Stepping closer, she smiled up at him. In some traditions the bride left first, and was made ready for the husband. Guinevère had no intention of letting him go for that. Besides, she'd slept with him before. They'd held each other during some nights when they couldn't be along. She'd just never . . . . slept with him before. Linking their arms, she tired not to look at anyone but him, knowing her cheeks were turning faintly darker.

He spoke of kissing her, and she smiled knowing that once he made his choice they'd have to have that conversation. The one where she would have to tell him she'd be his friend, always, but when he was a king he would need to find a real princess. One would would build an alliance with, and give the kingdom something to help it. Coin, lands, a friend in times of need.
Yet his other words were the ones she spoke of, "You pulled a sword from a stone that had kept it locked in place since before my grandfather." She reminded him, "You were born to make this choice. I had nothing to do with it. You'd have been here with or without me." She believed that, that he was born to do this. "Whither it is only ending Morgana's rein, or taking the throne; I believe that you were meant to pull the sword from the stone.

"I love you, I'll always wait for you." She told him, knowing them to be the truest words she ever spoke. He then began talking about the time Morgana was in power. "You came as soon as you could. There was nothing more you could have done if you'd come sooner. Until you had a clear mind, and a good plan . . . . and a handful of men . . . you could do nothing more then wait."
Sir Leon. Yes. Guinevère bit her lip and looked at the door before she looked at Arthur. "He looked very pretty in a dress." She teased him, knowing Arthur would ask about that. Sir Leon, the knight that was his brother and challenger in many ways. A general of sorts sometimes, and a friend all times. "It's how we escaped. They were looking for a tall knight, and so I gave him a purple dress, and two women walked out. They didn't even try to stop us!" She told him with a laugh at how simple it had been! "He was very put out!"

She continued to hold him, trying to think of what to say to comfort him; yet knowing that this was something that would only take time. Time to accept the changes, and his inability to do anything about it. This would affect him for the rest of his life, but there wasn't anything he could actually do about it--which she imagined made him feel helpless. He could not even confront this father, who he loved. Perhaps that was a blessing, since the last time he found out he reacted with anger.
"Perhaps it was a spell. Maybe she knew what happened to your mother, and sought to use it against you, knowing you'd go back and confront your father." These words weren't meant to help, as they only led into her next ones, "Yet you had the chance to see you're mother's face. Something you've only see in paintings. You take the memory with you, and find something to take from this. Hold that." Not many got to see their parent's face if they died in birth. Paintings were only so good. "The rest we will deal with . . . together, Arthur. Let me help you." She wanted him to express what he was feeling. Admit he was angry with his father, let him get it out of his mind to ease his soul.

Arthur looked over at her, and Guinevère held the reins tighter sine she didn't want to look away. He only asked one thing of her, and she wondered if that hinted to what he was thinking about. Was he thinking of staying and being king? Did he believe in the legend of the sword? That he was destined to be the once and future king? That he would bring peace and prosperity to the land? -- Because she did.
Would she stay? She knew the answer without thinking about it. "If you do," she told him, meaning it. She wanted to see him do it. Had since they met. Yet she wasn't going to put that on him. This would need to be his choice. The hardest one he would ever make; or the first of many hard choices. "Or if you go, I go with you." She promised. "We are friends, are we not?" She teased him, trying to ease his mind, "and as I said, your friends are with you no matter your choice."

Guinevère knew that even if he wasn't saying a lot, he was feeling a lot. "You know I'd have waited for you," She told him, "I am just glad that the change is happening sooner then expected, and without the death of your father." She had felt odd at times, wishing for things to change but knowing it would happen 'over his father's dead body'. Now Arthur could be the one in charge, and without his father dying to make it happen.
Yet, she couldn't help but to wonder what would happen when Uther recovered. Would Arthur have to give him his power back? She didn't want there to be a fight for power, but she didn't want to see Uther back on the throne. "The people love you, they trust you. It will be easy to give them a reason to trust in the Pendragon name. I don't think they ever lost their faith in you. I was here when Morgana was in power--" she didn't say Queen, but as much as she didn't like Uther on the throne, she rather him then Morgana.
"--and they knew you'd come back. . . . you did do it a lot easier then I thought." She admitted, knowing he took a handful of men to get his father out and ended up with a kingdom won. When they spoke of Arthur Pendragon, 50 or 100 years from now it would be of this feat.

A lot of people waking up sometimes were frightened and tried to get up; so this part she was used too. Gwen put her hands over the IV to keep him from pulling it out, kept her smile on her face, and used her free hand to lightly push on his shoulder to keep him in bed. She noticed how strong he felt, but thankfully he wasn't swinging at anyone. She'd had a few others try that when waking--and they didn't know where they were so they were frightened--and while she'd never been hit, Gwen didn't like the risk.
"Easy now," She cooed softly, trying to be soothing. "Give your mind a moment to catch up, and lets see what happens." She knew sometimes they were confused but never had they not known their names. Her job here was a physical therapist for people after trauma, to help them gain strength in their bodies after they had been in bed too long (or in some sad cases, help people ease bed sores when they would never get out of bed again). "You've been asleep for a while, just give yourself a chance wake up." She needed him calm, before he hurt himself.

Even days later, Arthur was struggling under the weight of what has happened. Guinevère knew this was the last thing he wanted--and she felt torn. He was fated to be this, but he wanted to be something else. She wouldn't make this choice for him. Not after everything she'd put him through last time. She wanted him to follow his heart . . . even if it took him away from her.
Kings and servants still were unheard of, and IF he took the crown he would have enough of trouble. She wouldn't add too it by making him explain that choice to people who would be looking at him for everything else.
"It will be a hard choice, but your friends are here with you. As long as you do what feels right, they will follow you anywhere." Just as she would. She'd serve him as king faithfully, and always help. She had seen him honor in the small moments, and in the big moments. She didn't doubt that he would be a great king. It would take him time to learn the role, but he would always put the people first; and that was something the people hadn't seen in a long time.

Defiance? Is that was yelling at a prince for being arrogant and a snob was? She found herself smiling, remembering the way he used to be. While he had greatness in him, he had always not thought beyond himself. He'd been young, and over time as he grew he had changed--and she couldn't help but to be so thankful she had seen this change in him. To have been there to watch him become this great king that he was already turning out to be!
He looked at her, and said he was her's to command; because he was her husband. "Save that for night then," she teased, hinting she'd give commands tonight. In truth, she wasn't sure she knew what to command him to do. They'd been close for a while, but tonight she was a bit nervous. They'd never been together, and she knew what to expect--but didn't knew what to expect. Yet she loved him, and trusted him above all else so while she was nervous, there was an excited undertone to it. An egarness. Her fingers that held his hand tightened slightly from her thoughts, and then brushed over his skin.

Guinevère laughed softly at his words, or well threat to end their dance early. "I have no intention of doing either," she teased him, meaning that she didn't intend to cut their dance short, nor stop speaking to him like this. Guinevère liked knowing her words affected him. That he had wanted her, but not dishonored her. That it was tempting for him. She knew he was a man of honor, and that he wouldn't do anything to risk her--but she liked knowing that he thought about it.
She wanted to be beautiful for him. She wanted him to think her special--as she did with him. "We've waited so long for this moment," their wedding, "You would no dare end it too soon." Though she knew she too was egar for what was to come! Today she was wearing the most beautiful gown she'd ever seen, and Arthur looked the most handsome he had ever been! She wanted to be with him and for this night to last forever!
"And yes, that is my first order as queen," she teased more, "That you must keep dancing with me!"

"As much as I worry about you, I will still have a new favor for you, each time you ride out." She promised him, knowing that it would not only be for jousts and the melee--but the wars, and peace summits and every other thing that would take him from her side. She would always have a favor for him. Something to wish him luck, and to keep him safe.
Shifting her face, she rubbed her face against his, listening to his words. Deciding to be forward with her husband, Guinevère admitted more, "Those nights you spent in my house, were the closest I had ever come to sleeping with near a man." She missed his sounds when he was gone. Her house had felt slightly empty for a while. "Even still, I've never come close. Except the nights you held me." Sometimes she had slept in his bed, just holding each other. These were the only times she'd come close to sleeping with him.
She wanted him to know that tonight he'd be her first. She didn't' want him to have any doubts that she waited for him.

Guinevère raised her brows at his words, "You do?" She asked, knowing he'd kept it for a time after wards, but YEARS later?! "I was so nervous to give it too you!" She told him, loving the memory of that moment. "You were a prince! You used to favors from ladies, and they were silk or bright fabrics to match their dresses. I knew it wouldn't actually bring you luck, but I wanted you to have it." And she still thought back to how her hands toyed with it before passing it over to him.
"I think your days as William is the days I realized I was falling in love with you. Spending time with you, talking about real things with you. Seeing you as a person, more then I had before. I didn't fall in love with a prince, but the man. I've always loved you that way. I always will." The title was just apart of the man, it didn't define him. "It is a bit disappointing though, that Sir William didn't come to the wedding." She teased him, knowing that everyone always wondered where he went! He was never seen again!

Wife! She was his wife! Even as they danced before everyone, she felt the room narrow until it was just them for a few moments. Wife! Guinevère loved that finally they were here! It had taken them years, a love spell, dragons, war time, and even their own mistakes--her own mistakes--to get them here! And now that she was here, she felt so in love and in awe of him! Her husband!
After years of thinking they might not be together, and holding back on their love, tonight they would finally be together in the truest ways. She'd be his wife, in more then just name. There was a thrill to knowing that soon enough he would be taking her bed; but at the same time she was enjoying the dance and being here with him--no more hiding, and pining for something that 'one day' might be her's. He was her husband! They'd over come everything in their path, to be here together!
"I feel the same," she admitted, knowing that she loved him all the more then she'd had before. Arthur was truly the best king that the kingdom had seen in ages! Perhaps ever! And would ever seen again. He was brave, yet not foolish. He was kind without weakness. Forgiving. Which was how she ended up here. "I keep thinking about our first kiss. You kissed me, and then walked out, and I stood there . . . . knowing that I was falling for you and knowing it could never be. And yet . . . . I'm in your arms! I'm your wife!"
