My mind is a little confused after the last episode - not because of the way things played out - I thought the actors were superb!! Colin's performance was jaw dropping, and I have to admit the bit near the end almost had me in tears. It was nice to see some lightheartedness earlier in the episode with Arthur and Merlin - I missed that this season!!!
Dragoone had me laughing out loud, I have to admit! "Should have done that years ago!" ! Just... loved it! LOVED IT.
Merlin, I would LOVE to see you rp Merlin being forced to use the aging potion!!!

At Merlin's words, Mordred felt his lips curl into a frown, almost a sneer. How dare this boy assume things about him! How dare he accuse Mordred of speaking anything but the truth as it stood?! The druid narrowed his eyes, stepping forward a little. "There is only one King of this country and it is not me!" he roared, furiously. "There is only one ruler, and he is dead by your actions, Emrys! Be a coward and deny it all you like, but all of Camelot knows the truth! You have ruined Camelot! I stand here still by sacred oath to a King who was the finest the land will ever see, and your very presence here mocks his name!"
The druid narrowed his eyes, shaking his head and stepping back a little, though he still shook with rage. "Be gone." he said, flatly. "I'll not spill blood here. Tis sacred area, and I'll not forfiet my oath. But be warned, Merlin. If ever we were to meet again in another place, you would find yourself at judgement day earlier than you ever thought you would."

Why was she being so kind to him? As the ward of the most hated man admist magic users, she should hate him... she should be turning him in. Why was she helping him? Mordred studied the lady quietly, wondering how strong she had to be to be able to resist Uther's cruel influence. Perhaps one day, he would find a way to repay her for this... if he was ever to leave Camelot alive, of course.
At the offer of water, Mordred swallowed instinctively. It had been... far too long... since he had had water... and he had never drank clear water such as the water that nobles drank from. He managed a weak smile at her offer, and nodded his head a little, thanking her with a smile. Yes, he would drink! Goddess be blessed upon this lady, hed drink all the waters in Albion, such was his thirst at that moment.

Mordred's anger was almost palitable now. How could Merlin stand there, and deny everything that he had caused?! He had always thought of the warlock as a noble soul, a caring person... but Merlin's actions had shown otherwise. "I trusted you!" he snapped out at the other's question. "I believed you! You promised me you would help me and then you turned against me! Against Camelot, against your King!! The Queen weeps, and it is all your fault!"
As the other bellowed at him, the druid narrowed his eyes, visably shaking with rage now. "You would say that, wouldn't you!! After everything, you would try to blame me!" He stepped forward a little, his eyes on Merlin's face. "It is you who are playing games, Emrys! It is you who are the game master and we are your pawns!!! You have brought Camelot to its end and yet you blame those who have done nothing but tried to help you back from the darkness you let yourself slide into!" Tears stood in Mordred's eyes now, but he would not weep. Enough of that had been done in the past, and besides, Merlin did not deserve such emotions. Mordred's head rose proudly as he stared the warlock down. "I am the last keeper of Camelot, the oen who stayed whilst others fled after what you brought about. I am its keeper and its protector. You, Merlin, are it's destruction. And you will pay."

Mordred raised an eyebrow at the tone of her voice... The new spirit of Camelot, indeed... he thought. Did that mean she disapproved? Or did she approve and was trying to seem reserved? The Knight mentally shrugged off the thought, knowing he would eventually mull it over later. At the mention of one of his fellow knights, a smile graced the druid's lips. "I know Sir Gwaine," he acknowledged softly - feeling like an idiot as soon as he said the words. Of course the Knights knew each other! What sort of fellowship would it be if they did not? Cursing himself silently for his own stupidity, the druid smiled at her. "I have not yet gotten to know him as well as I would like, but he seems like a kind and honest man."
The pendant seemed to be pulling at him, for reasons that Mordred did not understand and was desperately trying to fight against. He tried to focus on the girl's voice, realising it had cut off and she was staring at him in... confusion? Fear? What? He stared at her, then down at the pendant, then up at her, not even thinking that his actions could be described by anyone as being innappropriate, since his main focus was on the pendant. A shiver of.. something passed through him, and the druid felt vaguely ill, as though he might throw up. His hands shaking, the druid forced back a grimace, giving the girl an apologetic smile. "Please forgive me, dear Lady," he said softly. "I was caught by the signature, though alas I do not know what it represents." A slight lie... but then, was she telling lies too? A carver's signature, she called it... but no, Mordred was certain he had seen it somewhere before. A whisper in his ear of times gone by - no. No. The knight pushed such thoughts aside, and gave the girl a distant smile.
"My apologies. I am not myself.... and I should be late for training if I stay here for too long," he stumbled about his words, desperate to get away from the pull of the pendant, praying against prayer that it was somethign that would loosen its hold on him if he were away from it. How long had it been here, in Camelot? Was this woman a witch? Did she mean to work against the King? Or was she as innocent as she claimed? He gave her a strange look, and a weak smile. "It was a pleasure making your aqquantence," he said, the words sounding false to his own ears as the Knight turned, desperate to get away from the magnetic pull of the pendant.

Mordred's eyes were on the Knight as Gwaine moved, quietly impressed by the other man's clearly natural talent for the swordery skills. With a swallow of nerves, he attempted to recreate them, tripping here and there a little, though as the training went on, so too grew his confidence. As they stopped briefly, Mordred was breathing heavily, though his eyes were shining. Perhaps he had misjudged how much he would... enjoy this. He smiled his thanks at Gwaine as he took the water, taking a long drink before passing it back. "You are a good teacher, Gwaine," he complimented softly, still a little out of breath. "I apologise if I am a poor student."
As the other knight ordered him to attack him, Mordred's eyes widened. "Are you certain?" he asked, feeling a little unsure. If he were to harm Gwaine, surely Arthur would have his head!! And if Gwaine were to harm him (which was more likely) what then? He hesitated a little, his eyes daring back and forth between Gwaine's face and his sword. Clearly though, the man was not joking, and so Mordred took a quick breath, tempted to close his eyes but keepeing them open as he charged at Gwaine, his sword flashing in the sunlight as he used the moves that the other knight had taught him.
ooc: please let me know if you want me to change anything! I apologise, it's not the best post!

Mordred's eyes darkened and narrowed, as his hand on the knife clenched a little tighter. For the warlock to be here... and to be making these ridiculous attempts at seeming innocent... it was almost too much. The druid swallowed back a rising insult, forcing a slow breath instead. Merlin's facade of inncence was somewhat convincing though. The druid's mouth formed a frown as he wondered whether the warlock was truly unsure, but then - no. No, how could he be? After all he had done?
Pushing back his shoulders a little, the brunette gazed into the eyes of the fellow magic user, his gaze cold. "More tricks, Merlin? They won't work this time... I hope you know that." He shook his head. "How could you, Merlin? You were his dearest friend, his trusted ally, and yet you..." he cut off, swallowing. "And yet for so long, you blamed me. You swore it would be I who brought this about... is that why you chose the task, Merlin? To change my fate by taking it on yourself? You and I could have worked together! We could have kept him safe..." The druid shook his head, his eyes shining with sadness. "But you chose to turn against him, against Camelot... against Arthur." With a slow breath, the druid shook his head. "I never thought you capable of such tings... clearly I was wrong... and now all of Camelot is weeping."

At the lady's confession to knowing what he felt, the newly appointed Knight gave a slightly relieved smile. "You must forgive my manner, my Lady. I'm afraid I still am very.... new to ettiquete here. Or indeed at interactment with nobles such as yourself, or any others." He gave her a soft smile, in the hopes that he wouldn't be insulting her.
"May I ask how you know King Arthur?" he asked softly, pausing at his own words. "I don't mean to sound as though I'm prying," he added hurridely

The knight smiled, nodding. "They will in time," he assured her quietly. "Sometimes, the greatest treasures in life take time to blossum." Now, where had that proverb come from? The brunette forced back a roll of his eyes, curising himself for suddenly remembering the favourite words of his old tutor. Those times were gone, and he did best not to remember. At her comment regarding babysitting, Mordred laughed softly. "For it to be such you would have to be gone also. For from what I know from such a thing, it is only such a thing if the mother is absent," he smiled at her, to let her know he was teasing with her.
"The King is gracious to all," he agreed softly. "He is not like other royals I have heard of. In Arthur I think we will see a new Kingdom being born, if it has not begun already," Mordred blinked, realising he had spoken his thoughts outloud, and smiled a little at Caitrin. "Forgive me, for I speak my thoughts too loudly. All I meant to say is that it is no surprise to me that Arthur did as he did; he is far different from those who have ruled before him," The knight paused, and winced. "I mean no disrespect to the late King, of course."
"A drink would be much appreciated, my lady," Mordred said with a grateful smile, and a nod. "If it is of no inconvenience to you or your children, that is."

The druid raised an eyebrow, his blue eyes never leaving the warlock's gaze, as he held the knife a little closer to hand. "Are you still playing these old games, Emrys?" he asked softly. "Are you still faking innocence, faking idiocy?" Mordred gave a half smile, though there was no warmth in it. "These things do not become you. Best stop whilst you can."
Once upon a time, he had hoped they would be friends. He had truly, desperately hoped that he and Merlin might somehow overcome the fate which was decreed upon them, and he had prayed that they would defy the odds, and somehow protect that which they both held so dear. But he had failed, Merlin had... well. And now? Now the die had been cast, the wind's song had been sung, and Mordred had never been more afraid in his life.
The smile on his face showed none of this, however it instantly faded as Merlin spoke of Arthur. "Do not speak of the King!" He hissed, his eyes narrowing and the flickering candle nearby going out as power crackled in the air. "You have no right to mention his name, to speak of him!" He took a step toward the warlock, and then stopped, his eyes still upon the brunette. "No. I will not dishonour this place with your blood."

"I hope the time will come," Said the Knight in return, giving her a quick smile back. He glanced down at her daughter with a smile to the girl, before raising his eyes back up to her mother. "Sometimes I think children are more observant than us adults," he admitted, a smile coming to her lips at the lady's chuckle.
"Caitrin it is," The Knight took her hand, kissing it gently before letting it go. "It is indeed an honour." He glanced down at the small child as she spoke of the game they were playing, and smiled, taking a seat next to Caitrin, happily, his eyes turning to the woman as he listened to her. "I have found the King to be highly gifted in the art of making people feel at home," he said softly. "I am most debted to him... he has made Camelot feel like my home. I can well see that he would treat you the same," he said with a quick smile.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Brynn." he said softly "Even with no title, that does not deem one unworthy of the name Lady," The brunette gave her a quick smile, hoping she wouldn't think he was flirting with her. Those sort of intentions towards a woman had never - as of yet - even entered his mind, and Mordred was quite content to let it stay that way, naive as it probably sounded it.
At her declining that the incident was his fault, the Knight gave a soft smile. "Let us say then that I was not exactly innocent. I should have been looking where I was going, and not rushing about like a mad-man. And please, call me Mordred." he suddenly wondered what the King would think of him offering his name to a servant, but shrugged the thought away. If Arthur truly had problems with it, then he was not the man that Mordred deemed him to be. "I hope I did not startle you too much, my Lady," he began, but then his eyes fell upon the sign on her pendant. All words left Mordred for a brief few seconds as he stared at his, his head whirling. Where would she have gotten such a pendant? Was she a sorcerer? DId she mean harm? Was she here to - but no. She seemed genuine enough... He shook himself out of the thought, giving her a smile. "My apologies, my Lady, I must have blanked out there for a moment."

Mordred nodded, feeling a little more at ease with the other knight. At least Gwaine wasn't going to mock him for his lack of fighting skills or start pestering for information on the druid's history. That might have been awkward to say the least. He smiled a little. "Thankyou,"
His eyes watched Gwaine's movement as the man demonstrated his stance, and raised his sword up, moving his feet to mimik the other knight's stance, hoping he was getting it right. The druid nodded at Gwaine's words, trying not to feel too nervous. "I'll do my best, Sir Gwaine," He said quietly, the words almost a vow. And he would. He had a duty, after all, to protect Arthur... and he couldnt' do that with no knowledge of the sword, could he?

The girl's odd manner did not escape the young Knight, and he searched her face; attempting to seem subtle - as he handed her the pendant back gently; feeling a strange rush of power burst through him as his fingers brushed the necklace's cord. What in the name of the Gods....? He pushed the thought back and retained his smile, for whatever this was... he was almost certain the young girl was clueless. But somehow, something in him called to the necklace. But that was ridiculous! It was just a pendant! ... wasn't it?
"You are very welcome, dear lady." Though the girl was obviously not of royal blood, Mordred had always been the type to try to act politely to all; whether of royal blood or not, and this girl was no exception. His breath shuddered a little as the pendant left his grasp, feeling as though something had uncoiled from around his heart, freeing him in the strangest sense that almost left him... bereft. He gave the girl a soft smile. "And you are right, I was in a hurry and was not looking where i was going. I do apologise."

Mordred had never felt more relieved than at the sight of the smile the lady had given him. As a newcomer to this kingdom, he was uncertain of protocal in these situations, thus every movement he made, every greeting, felt strange. He pushed the thought aside, with a warm smile of his own. "I am glad, my Lady." He was about to ask her name when she spared him, and introduced herself.
"The pleasure is mine, Lady Elenora," said the knight with a soft smile, inclining his head in respect to her. After all, she was a noble woman, and far higher in ranking than he was. At her question, he smiled a little. "I am indeed, my Lady," he assured softly. "I confess I am a little lost here though, I am not used to being among so many people..." He paused, wondering if his words would reflect badly on the King somehow. "That is to say..." he floundered, not sure how to continue.

I desperately hope Gwen hasn't been won over and that you guys were right. She seems to be a lot darker in this series than in previous ones, and I hope that darkness is hiding a stronger soul and that she's being controlled by Morgana with magic. In regards to Morgana, I think she very much blames Arthur for every wrongdoing in her life. Which is madness. I think if she had confided in him before she was corrupted, then Arthur might have accepted her for who she is, and even brought magic back into the Kingdom with Morgana's help. As such she's managed to be one of the many reasons why Arthur fears magic so.
I am still disappointed in Arthur for not having more faith, though I do see where you're coming from, Arthur, in regard to him being scared. Having said that, he seemed more downhearted than scared to me. That being said, I'm glad Merlin was the one to restore Arthur's faith and encourage him.

How did I miss these last four posts on here?? Gwaine, completely agree with you as far as Elyan is concerned! It very much came out of the blue and seemed a bit pointless - the only point of it being to kill off Elyan! With Morgana, I have to wonder if she made up the whole thing... I do agree that Katie's acting is amazing though, and she really does a great job with Morgana!
And I totally agree as far as Gwen being won over - far too easy, and it makes me VERY disappointed in Gwen; she should have more faith in Arthur. On that side note, something I've only just thought of that REALLY annoyed me... how quickly Arthur seemed to give up and thought they had lost Gwen at the start. It was only Merlin encouraging him that kept him going!! Surely he should have more faith than that?
Aond OMG, Merlin, YES! I cannot wait to see Dragone again either!! I'm looking forward to seeing what his part in this next episode will be!
