I was born FOR THIS MOMENT
"You speak as though trouble follows me!" Gwaine countered with a grin as he opened the door to the tavern, inviting Arthur to take a look. The inside was a noisy and bustling mess of drunkards and cheaters and thieves. Tables flipped and fists flew as a full on brawl was already in progress. Gwaine furrowed his brow in momentary confusion. Maybe trouble really did follow him? His brown eyes shot back to his incognito King as if to plead his case that this absolutely was not planned, but there was a twinkle of mischief in that gaze as well. An almost visible vibration of excitement rumbled through his body as he unsheathed his sword.
"You know what they say, Sire... 'When in Rome,'!"

Gwaine wasn’t sure how he ended up on a hunting trip with only Arthur... but he supposed stranger things has happened. He’d be the first to admit his fondness for Camelot’s future king hadn’t started off on the right foot, but Arthur had proved himself in ways other nobles has not. Arthur was different.
“Only six drinks, I promise,” Gwaine swore, speaking at the exact same time Arthur had limited them to two. A smile flicked across his face as he finished tying his own horse and heaved a heavy slap to Arthur’s shoulder. “Losing all your money gambling doesn’t hurt as bad when you’re drunk,” he explained.

His frame is quite compatible when it comes to swordfighting or a rumble with bare fists. He has shoulder length brown hair that often falls in front of piercing brown eyes. He sports a strong jawline constantly covered in stubble and always keeps a simple gold ring encircled around his neck.

.:Personality:. Gwaine is a free spirit and adventurer. His trust at times can be difficult to earn but his loyalty thereafter is unbreakable. Gwaine concerns himself with seeing all people being treated fairly and never hesitates to be the dashing hero of the day. Though he's quick with a smile, a joke or a drink, he's trustworthy and dependable.

.:History:. As first-born, Gwaine admired and marveled at his brave and noble father. However, when Sir Lionel perished in battle Gwaine witnessed the selfish and dark side of the elite as his mother was denied any help from their king. The ordeal left a bitter taste in Gwaine's mouth and he developed a distrust of nobles and those born into powerful positions. He knew what was on the inside is what really mattered. Eventually Gwaine left his family to live the life of a vagabond, not attached to any person, place or thing and free from any sense of loss. It wasn't until he met Merlin that he realized how nice having friends could be. It took time but Gwaine eventually saw the good in Arthur as well and when the time came, pledged himself to his future king as a Knight of Camelot.
