Lucan knew full well of the situation that had gone on months before, he had not spoken for or against the matter, and kept his thoughts about it to himself, after all – it was for Cait and Griff to overcome, and no matter how much advice and protection Luc could provide, he couldn’t this time. He sat back and studied his sister in law. It was a tricky situation, especially if you were unsure of the outcome. “I can see what you mean” he started, “but if you’re thinking the worst then there really is no bother, the past is the past and you can’t change it – either way you have to think about the most important people involved. Esmae, Arthur and the baby.”
What a mess it was. Lucan had a good mind to find this ‘Pip’ and set an example, but he wouldn’t – and that was because that man was hardly worth the time of day or Lucan’s energy.
Taking Arthur from Cait, he sat the baby on his lap and bounced him up and down for a while. Arthur immediately behaving and starting to chew on the laces of his tunic. Lucan didn’t mind, as long as he wasn’t wriggling or causing mischief he could chew them all he liked! He saw Cait’s face change whilst reading the letter and listened straight faced to her rant. “My father has been waiting for this day for years, he’s always told me that a son is worth every weight in gold and that no heir would crumble the line.” Running a hand through his hair he sighed, “Needless to say I’ll be telling him my thoughts exactly on the situation in a letter later on – I won’t show it to Camila, she will only become upset.”
He didn’t have to think about gender preferences. “A child who will be doted on.” He replied simply. “Camila has wanted this for quite some time, so we’ll be content with either a son or daughter,” By now Arthur’s constant chewing had changed to a sleepy one, “anyway…” Luc smiled looking down at his nephew and stroking his hair, “I’ve never been as heir mad as my father, it helps yes – but should you wind up without one then there’s nothing you can do. I could even die without one, but the estate would still carry on, I’ve made sure of that in case that circumstance occurs….” He trailed off on the subject.

He gave a mock sigh, “It’s been tough Cait, I have to admit” a small smirk crossed his lips, “but I’ve survived – however I’m pretty sure that Cam almost had a nervous breakdown when she first saw me.” Lucan had missed his wife dreadfully during the last month, he’d already felt guilty enough about having to ride out a day after her birthday, let alone not knowing she was carrying their child. But he was glad to be back with her and the rest of his family. “How’s Roly?” Lucan asked. He wouldn’t have been surprised if Cait’s uncle had taken to building an extra wine cellar on hearing the news that baby number three was on its way. All the same it had been good of Rouland to allow Cait and Griff to reside at the estate with the twins, and Lucan was grateful to the older man.
“You look perky” he commented, “and if I wasn’t mistaken earlier, you also looked like you wanted to run me through, so it’s good to see that you still have enough energy in you” Lucan could see something in Cait’s eyes, but couldn’t quite put his finger on what it was. Perhaps she was starting to tire, but it still bothered him. “Is everything alright?” he asked “You look….well; I don’t know how to describe it other than different.”
Tutting at Arthur, Lucan shook his head disappointed, “Now Arthur, what have I said? Stop making a fuss for your poor mother.” The child gurgled at him even more, his little face alight and arms waving about excitedly. “I daren’t give you a sword with the way those arms are going at the moment, you’d kill someone.”
The letter now lay upon the table when Luc took his place back in his chair, Caitrin looking a little curious as to what it contained. “Just from my father” he shrugged, “I was expecting a reply from him today, I sent a message to let him know about the baby, and of course the letter says what I thought it would…” Within the letter, his father had expressed how vital it was for Camila to give him a son, and how she would fail him and the Aubert family should the child be a girl. It had angered Lucan slightly (although he did not express this in front of Cait or Arthur), but he had expected nothing more and nothing less from corneous. He was bent on seeing his son carry on the name, but to Lucan, he didn’t really care. Son or daughter – the baby would be very much loved all the same. “Read it, I don’t mind” he gestured to the paper; he knew what Cait’s opinion would be.

Griff seemed to be pretty much how he ever was. Why did Luc need help? He didn’t need help he needed advice! “You’re a father, how on earth did you cope? I’ll probably drop the baby or do something stupid.” He was a Knight and yet he could see himself being a terrible father to the poor little one. Griff’s words about raising him surprised Lucan very much. He looked up from staring into his now empty cup and frowned.
“I did what I had to for you, after all – father and Elaine would have never forgiven me if something happened to you…” he paused, “and I would have never forgiven myself either. Even when we were younger I always tried to look out for you, do what was best for you – even though you didn’t want it. When I left for Camelot, part of me wondered how on earth you would cope, and when you turned up here and told me of what happened I was half tempted to march you straight back to Glouchedon, but I didn’t, because I knew that –like me- you couldn’t stand to be there either.” He put down the cup and looked at his brother, “I’m glad you stayed here, because you picked yourself up and now have everything you could want, so you made the right decision.”
Lucan shifted slightly in the chair to get more comfortable. “No doubt I’ll be receiving a letter from father at some point tomorrow, and no doubt it will contain many ‘wishes’ of his that the child will be a boy.” He ran his hands down his face and groaned, “Please tell me there’s more wine….”

Lucan looked up again as Caitrin strode back in, irritated. She looked more pregnant today than when Lucan had last seen her, then again a month was a long time to a woman who was carrying a child. “She has not mentioned it as of yet, but I wouldn’t put it past her – besides, she enjoys my teasing almost as much as you do” he smirked, “after all – I’ve not seen my dear sister in law for a while”. He sat back a little more relaxed. Griff had visited the previous evening and the conversation over the baby had sort of helped him overcome some worries, but not enough to allow him to cease his thoughts altogether.
“Thankyou” he smiled lightly as Cait congratulated to him, “How are you feeling? Hopefully Esmae and Arthur haven’t been running riot too much for you?” Esmae and Arthur could never do that. His nephew had now clocked his uncle and gave his trademark smile that much reminded Lucan of Griff. He got up and walked over to the chair that Cait was now settled in and crouched down to Arthur’s level. “And how are you Sir Arthur? I heard you making a fuss earlier.” Luc looked up and winked at Cait with a knowing look.
Rising from his current position, he poured her a drink, Thomas interrupting the pair with an apologetic look and handing a letter to Lucan. It was in Allard’s writing. He opened it and scanned over the words, before placing it back on the table and offering Cait a drink.

Lucan hadn’t been surprised when Thomas announced the arrival of Caitrin that morning. No doubt she’d heard the news and immediately had made her way over to the estate. Time to be interrogated de Archer style…again! Caitrin was the Queen of interrogation when it came to matters like these. Lucan admired her for it – after all, she gained far more for her benefit than others did. To make her more annoyed and anticipated he told the servant to make her wait until he called her in. Almost immediately after Thomas left he could hear Cait’s voice expressing her annoyance at being made to wait, and this only made him chuckle even more.
The door burst open and Caitrin was now fully in the room. Lucan looked up from his work and raised an eyebrow. “Why is it that so many people find it hard to knock?” He was sure she muttered something and carried on his battle of the wills against her. “Go out and knock again Cait” he told her, pretending to look incredibly annoyed that she hadn’t listened to his instruction. Stomping from the room, he heard the door shut and three swift and impatient knocks.
“Who is it?!” he called, unable to hold back the grin on his face now. Toying with his sister in law was just what he needed, especially as now the door had been opened with some force and she was once again in the room, looking exceedingly annoyed than earlier.

Lucan’s face stayed blank as he knew now that Griff would fire some crude comment his way, and when it did come – it wasn’t the time or place to laugh, any other situation then Luc would have but this was different. “This isn’t funny Griff” he replied as calm as he could, however he didn’t feel that way and instantly knew why Rouland drank wine as though it was going out of fashion.
He waited until his brother finally regained some composure before carrying on. “I can’t be a father Griff, I don’t know how to be!” another sip and he slightly felt better with each one; either that or he was heading to become incredibly drunk. Luc ran a hand through his hair. “I mean, I have no idea what to do – and I certainly don’t want to end up like father, spending all his days more interested in his ‘work’ than giving his children a second glance. I’m worried something will happen to Cam and the baby, I’m worried something could even happen to me before it even arrives, and I basically have no one else to ask but you…” Griff had taken to fatherhood well; he was always calm and controlled even in times of crisis with the twins.
“So if you wouldn’t mind holding back the sardonic comments until later on, then I’d appreciate some help?”

Lucan knew the threat of childbirth, he would worry up until the day the little one entered the world. He gave a small sigh and squeezed Cam’s hand. “This is certainly something else…” he spoke in a small voice that was barely audible. “Of all the things that I’ve come up against, this is no doubt by far the hardest, and I’ll admit that…” he looked to Cam and smile weakly, “You’ll fight, you’re a fighter and we both know that.” He remembered her withered expression when he’d first visited after being stuck in the dungeon when Morgana had her rampage against Uther and Camelot. She’d come up against far more than he had during that time, Lucan had just been sitting in a dungeon waiting for his death sentence from the tyrannical ‘Queen’.
Then the subject of baby names? Cam had certainly thought a lot of this through whilst he’d been away. “Heidi” he rolled the name on his tongue and smiled. “I like it…as for a boy? I was thinking along the lines of Samuel?”
He raised his brows at the suggestion of freeing himself of the armour finally. He couldn’t complain – he was used to the feel and the weight, when he’d first been knighted he’d hated the fact that on some of the hottest days it would feel like a human oven. Never the less Lucan had soon become accustomed to it, just as he had done his job. It was something he’d worked towards since his mother had been alive, should his father choose his timing well – then he hoped he could at least have another few years as a knight, but somehow Lucan knew that this wouldn’t happen, and it saddened him to think that one day he would have to just give it all up to sit around an estate all day. His father may have wanted it when he was Lucan’s age, but Luc certainly didn’t. Allard’s letters had been promising the last few times, so he was preparing himself for the worst. “Hmmm, I suppose so…” he replied, finally collecting his thoughts together and answering his wife. “Im used to the weight, most of the time I don’t even realise I’m wearing it.”
Standing up, he offered a hand to Cam and walked down the path to the house. “How has everything been since I left?” he asked.

Caitrin gave him a funny look when he mentioned naval commanders, now he’d done it and would have to explain about how his father Captain Corneous Aubert had come to be the man he was now. “Err….well, yeah…” he shifted uncomfortably, not wanting Caitrin to think that he was a stereotypical upper class snob, yes his family had money, but Lucan neither cared to use it for anything and everything. Hence why his father had been so mad when he’d chosen his career path instead of staying at the family estate in the country. “Well, he used to be a Captain, then he retired and I guess that’s what’s sent him a bit bonkers – he likes to think he’s a pirate or still in command of a ship” he rolled his eyes, “thankfully he doesn’t do house visits so you’re safe from him.”
“So you have your father, and your brother, to look after?” Luc snorted, “Sort of, I hardly ever see Griff these days unless he wants something or a bed for the night after he’s been in town drinking.” He told her, “Had my mother have been here then she would’ve most likely looked after my father.” He went quiet after saying this and chose to take another sip of his drink.
Lucan laughed at her description of a Caitrin filled weekend, and noticed her yawn. “Right, well if you need anything you know where I am” he smiled, “Goodnight Caitrin.” After she was gone he sat back and swirled the liquid around in his glass, his head suddenly looking up as he heard his new roommate’s quizzical tone echo down the hallway . He headed straight into Cait’s room and raised his brows, “Yes, and I believe there is only one word…Gwaine” he gave her a knowing look. “If you want, you can take my bed for the evening and I’ll take the sofa, then take a look at the bed tomorrow to see if I can fix it?” he suggested.

He was glad that he amused her with the names of his pets. Thankfully it wasn’t his father that had named them. When it came down to naming anything, Luc really wasn’t that imaginative and had just chosen the first few names of things that came to his head. “It was me who thought of them actually, had my father have done it then they’d be named after Naval commanders or something” he rolled his eyes.
He poured himself another drink and nodded as Cait spoke. “A perfect weekend?” he mused, very rarely getting something of the sort these days. “At the moment it doesn’t exist, im usually back and forth to my father’s house and sorting out everything for him, he can’t really do it himself at the moment and my brother is just about useful as a needle in a haystack. So it’s usually down to me at the moment. But if I did have one then certainly it would be relaxing in the park on a sunny day and just watching the world go by, perhaps going to a gig or two but that’s rare.” He said, Lucan did like his music and his relaxation.
“And yourself? I’m sure a weekend of yours is more eventful than anything I could come up with.” He asked, “do you want another drink?”

"What is it then? Are we in the midst of another crisis?" Of course those were to be Griff’s first words when he entered, no ‘Hello Luc, how have you been?’, but he’d seen Griff spying the goblet as he’d walked in so either he was evaluating a potential situation in his head, or he wanted a goblet himself.
He looked up and smirked a little at his brother, gesturing for him to sit down opposite. He looked well; Luc hadn’t seen him for some time in the last couple of months, so it was nice to actually hear some humour again. He wondered if Griff missed their conversations they used to have before he had been married and the twins had been born – Lucan did – not that Camila was boring, but sometimes it was nice to have some close male presence around. “I wouldn’t class it as that” he replied to Griff’s earlier question, “and Hello to you too”
Reaching over, he poured Griff some wine and passed it to him. “I called you here not just because I wanted a brotherly chat” he began, “but I need some advice that I know only you can give…well, father can as well but to be honest, I doubt it would be very good going by his current state of health.” Resuming his normal position in the chair he gulped down another mouthful of wine for courage.
“Camila is with child…” he started, “and I know I should be more happy than I am, but the truth is that I’m worried…about everything.” Lucan looked from swirling the wine around in his goblet to his brother sincerely, “I need some advice Griff, and you’re the only one who can give it to me…”

Still unable to quite grasp the concept that he was to be a father, Lucan had taken to letting Corneous know of the news, as well as inviting his brother to Allard’s estate. He needed some encouragement as to how on earth he could do this. Griff had been through it already and he made fatherhood look so easy, whereas Lucan didn’t believe that it would run as smoothly for him as it had done for his brother. Then again Griff always made everything look like a walk through a fresh meadow.
He swirled the red liquid around in his goblet. Why was he shocked now rather than when Camila had first told him? Yes he’d had time to register everything in his mind, and the more he thought about it, the more scared he was. Had Griff felt this way? Was he even supposed to be feeling like this? Should he be more embracing of the fact that his wife had managed to achieve one of her goals? Everything was a blur to him at the moment, and it wasn’t just because of the wine!
Had his uncle have been right here now, he would’ve been telling Lucan not to be some worrying and that the outcome was the most important thing. It was, but it didn’t stop him from feeling like this. Excited and worried didn’t really mix well.
Thomas, the servant opened the door and bowed his head. “Lord Griff is here to see you my lord…”. At this, Lucan put down his goblet and nodded, “Send him in, thank you Thomas.”

He could see the tears forming in her eyes as he spoke. It wasn’t going to be an easy ride – carrying a child never really was for any woman. He brushed a few tears away with his thumb. “Come now Cammy, don’t cry” he kissed her softly, not wanting to dampen any happiness that they had. “Do you know what?” he turned to her, “I’ve faced some scary things over the years, and I’ll admit to you now that this has to be the scariest” he chuckled – he, Lucan Aubert could be such an idiot at things like this. “The thought of being responsible for someone so small …” his hand trailed across her stomach. There was only a slightly indication that she was carrying his child from where his hand was rested; soon it would be clear to everyone.
He had to tell Griff….
Knowing his brother, he’d most likely come out with some sardonic line along the scale of ‘wow…never knew you had it in you…’ even the thought of Griff saying that made Luc roll his eyes. Trust his little brother to say something like that, and it was only in his mind!
“Cam junior?” he scrunched up his nose, “Nah, I believe that Lucan junior is better” he smirked, “Although knowing you, you’ve most likely picked out some names already” he smirked. Cam was ever the perfectionist, so of course she must have done. No doubt they would be prefect, and so would their child, whatever the name.

No matter how many times Camila could say that they were going to be ‘fine’, the word didn’t even cut a thin slice of what risks there were. Lucan knew all to well that he could lose either, or even both. He didn’t even want to think of it, of what could happen – Camila and now their unborn child were everything to him, and to try and even think of a life without either or both was unbearable. He hadn’t any recollection of how he’d even got by before Cam came into his life. She was his everything, and he’d gladly give his own life or hers in a heartbeat.
“Cam, I’m serious…” he gently squeezed her hand that was on his, even though it was protectively covering her stomach. His child, their child was in there, unaware of the happenings or what was to come when he or she entered the world.
“I can’t lose you…both of you…” he told her, “You’re my everything, so promise me you’ll take it easy and not roll your eyes like I know you do, when I tell you to just slow down.” He knew what Cam was like; in no time she’d grow bored easily and would most likely do something that would give him some kind of heart attack.
Smiling slightly he looked to the nice little scenic view before them. “So Luc junior it is, even if it’s a girl – right that’s settled then.” The smirk on his lips making it obvious that he was joking.

He still had no idea what to say, her hand rested on his over her stomach, there was a baby in there? It was still hard to believe, and Camila certainly wasn’t joking. A little boy or girl would soon be in their arms and it was just how quickly that the time would pass that it would be real. It was a scary thought, and he was a hard person to scare. He’d certainly need some of Griff’s advice at this rate, if he’d been worrying about Cam before, he’d certainly be worrying about her more now. Worry for two people rather than one.
“I…I just…I can’t believe that they’ll be another person in this house” he grinned, watching his hand on her stomach. She’d seen the physician, all was well apparently, and at least he could be sure that there was defiantly a baby there.
“You do realise I’m going to worry for you more now?” he told her, “and I want you to take it easy.” She was so fragile and yet so strong. His hand mindlessly tapped away on her stomach, he didn’t want to move it, just in case everything would somehow disappear and it wouldn’t be true.

He sighed when she admitted she’d been worrying, resorting to sleeping draughts to get some rest of a night. He wished he’d have the privilege of some of those whilst being away. “Camila” he tutted and shook his head, “When you worry then that makes me worry” he admitted, “and you know how I get when I worry about you.” Yes, a nervous wreck!
Ah her favourite spot, by the pond.
Hang on, why was she sitting him down, more importantly, why had she suddenly taken her hands in his?! Had someone died?! His father? Allard?! Elaine! "But despite everything, I've got some terrific news." Ok, no one had died, that was a relief. "Luc, I'm pregnant."
He blinked his expression blank trying to take in what she had just said to him. Had she just said that she was pregnant? As in, with child? As in BABY?! A baby? Their child? Oh crikey! Lucan now found himself staring at her, the words still trying to chisel themselves into his mind. Finally, they seemed to sink in. She was carrying their child – something that they had both wanted for a while. Something that Elaine had chided about some months back. A grin started to form on his lips, seeing Camila’s own expression. That was why she looked different!
“You’re…we’re….” he stumbled over his words; “baby!” was all that came out, how pathetic. He laughed slightly at his own stupidity, “You’re carrying our baby?!” he grinned and shook his head once again in disbelief – how on earth was there a baby in there? “Cam, this is…this is just….” He didn’t even know what to say, “Amazing.” He finally managed to find a word to sum up the situation, although at the moment nothing quite came close to it. His hand rested on her stomach as he kissed her lips gently, “are you sure?”

He could feel her, she felt more tense than normal? Perhaps it was all the worrying that she had been probably doing, knowing Camila. She practically worried for him all the time, even when he told her not to. They both knew there might be a day where he might not come back and she had been more than prepared to take that chance by marrying him.
Luc gave a small laugh as she stumbled over her words, flooded by the relief of him being home, “I’m in one piece.” He looked himself up and down to check that he didn’t have any kind of injury that had managed to sneak its way across his body unnoticed. Thankfully there were none, only scars underneath his armour and clothes as a reminder of various incidents he’d been present at. He hadn’t even discussed how he’d come to gain each one with Cam, for one he didn’t enjoy bringing up the subject or remembering, and secondly she’d most likely faint at the details anyway. “I did my duty, and overall it was successful that’s all I really have to say about it” he shrugged, wanting to the close the topic.
Offering her his arm, he began to guide her down the path. He very rarely had a chance to actually spend any time with Camila, especially since he’d been away, so now was the perfect chance. “You look…different…” he said, looking at the ground and patting the arm entwined with his, gently. “I hope you haven’t been worrying too much, the last thing I want is for you to be ill.”

Woah! Cam seemed to have run so fast to him that he hadn’t time to even register that she was there until she practically threw herself at him. He could’ve sworn that she had grown more beautiful, she looked happy and had a certain glow about her that he just found as enchanting as when he had first met her.
She was touching his face, tears staining her own. He frowned slightly at this. “Why are you crying?” he asked, “hopefully not at the fact that I’ve actually come back alive.” Shooting a certain look her way, he wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her forehead gently, just as he had done so when he’d rode out. Now he was back in her arms. It killed him to leave her, but seeing her again had made all of that disappear.
Seeing as she was sweeping aside his hair he may as well tuck that darn stray one of hers behind her ear. “I’ve missed you” he smiled, “I hear that you’ve been spending lots of time with my brother and Caitrin, are they all ok?” he asked and then looked at her worriedly, “more importantly are you ok?”.

It was so nice to see Camelot again after a month of being away from anything that Lucan could deem as ‘scenic’. The Group were tired and just as eager to get home to their families. He had missed Camila a lot; jeez he’d even missed Griff! And that was saying something! He just couldn’t wait to see the look on her face. He’d felt guilty about having to leave a day after her birthday, in fact he’d spent every day regretting it, but he didn’t care now, he was home.
Once everything was in order he headed back to the estate. His armour felt heavier than usual, and it seemed he’d only noticed just how hot he felt. Seeing the estate was a more welcome sight – he dismounted and handed the stable boy his horse whilst he headed on inside. Thomas, the servant bowing his head as he greeted him at the door. “Welcome back my lord, I trust the journey was pleasant.” Oh he had no idea! Lucan just smiled and nodded, “Yes, it was thank you Thomas.”
“Is there anything I can get for you my lord?”
“Not at the moment Thomas, where is Lady Camila?” he asked
Thomas looked around, “I believe she is at the de Archer Estate my lord, I haven’t seen her since this morning, but then again she could have returned?” The servant looked unsure, and then again he’d tried as hard as he could not to interrupt his master and his wife, ever since the awkward moment the morning after their wedding. Luc had found it pretty hilarious all the same.
“It’s ok, I’ll look for her” he sighed and headed out into the garden, Cam liked to spend some time out there so perhaps he’d strike lucky and find her. “Camila?” he called, “Cam?”

He gave a small snort, Caitrin was certainly a stubborn one, "deal" he replied with a nod and shook her hand that was waiting for him to. "And that is probably the most random debate i've had in a long time".
Giving Caitrin a chuckle he shook his head, "well you'll be pleased to know that i'm far from it, im not really one to go out drinking every weekend and such - I pretty much keep myself to myself." Well, he'd tried to when Gwaine had been his flat mate but that hadn't exactly turned out the way he'd wanted it. “Well then don’t be surprised when I’m introducing you to a different guy every week.” He laughed at this, "It's fine, I'll make sure i'll stay out of your way for most of it." Lucan knew she couldn't have been as bad as Gwaine, a different girl every night so it had seemed. He'd forgot all their names and he was sure that Gwaine had too. Now it seemed one of them had been an exception.
Irish punk music?! Now that was new! He shook his head and finished off a mouthful of food. "I think you'll have to let me sample what Irish punk music is like," he smiled, "but it does sound like fun." Yup, compared to his music tastes that were just awful.
“Right now my question, do you have any pets I should know about?” "Well I have a fish called Ham" he told her, "and two hamsters called Coco and Cobweb, but they're all in my room so they won't be a bother." he told her feeling like a small boy, telling his class at school how many pets he had and what his dysfuntional family was like. "My father - who is a little bonkers by the way - gave me them, saying that he'd brought them off some guy and then realised that he was allergic to them." he rolled his eyes, what a memory that had been, "so I said i'd take them." He finished, moving onto his next question, "Ok then this is not so much a question, but run me through a typical weekend of Caitrin" It had to be more interesting than his was.

Lucan could see that Griff was struggling with the dummy - purely it was way too big and with his brother at such an impossible height for hs age, it wasn't going to work. "I could have one made for you so you can practice easier, I think this is a big too big." he smiled and tried to push the dummy a little more lower into the ground. Perhaps that would be a little more easier for Griff.
"How would you know?"
"Believe it or not, some boring brothers do hide away too you know." he retorted, "and when my mother died, I hid away a lot - so don't tell me I know nothing about hiding."
Giving his brother a light slap on the back, he headed over to where he'd left some of his arrows for archery under the tree. Had his mother have been there now things would be different. He wouldn't have Elaine on his case about matters of the estate and decorum. He wouldn't have her there at all. But life was usually unkind to him anyway, and Elaine was just one of these things. Of course Griff wasn't - Lucan barely saw him enough as it was, but they weren't close. It was just as though they were ships passing in the night. Seeing his father standing with Thomas, he walked over to the pair of them. "I think he needs a smaller dummy for now, he's determind but still as stubborn as ever - could I arrange to have him made one if he's willing to practice with it?" he asked Corneous, who was now watching Griff.
"I don't see why not" Corneous shrugged at this, "Don't forget, we need to talk about..."
"Yes, yes I know" Lucan sighed, "Let me go and change and I will be right there."
With a nod from Corneous, Lucan turned back to Griff, gave him the nod of approval (given the fact that he was now doing rather well in actually handling the sword) and headed off in the direction of the house. Ths wasn't going to be a pleasant conversation with his father later - he could feel it.
