This was the first time that Camila appeared incrediably emabrassed about her conduct. She needn't be, after all it was natural and just the two of them without any prying eyes or ears. He lifted her chin so that he could make her look at him. With a gentle kiss on her nose he smirked a little more. "With talk like that it's a bit hard not to just carry you back upstairs right now and spend the whole day there." Now that, he could handle - well at least he thought he could.
Lucan was now mirroring her smirk at her next words, Camila sure knew how to play him and it was going to drive him to some sort of insanity sooner or later."Well then I will not argue with you about that." he told her.
"Hm. Well, I think breakfast would be good. Then I'm going to change and I have something I want to show you later. Or tomorrow." It was now he was beginning to wonder what this was, now she was demanding the kiss he'd asked of her earlier. "You..." he started, placing a small kiss on her lips, "Are a tease." he finished, resting her forehead gently on hers before cursing as Thomas appeared again.
"Apologies my lord," he shifted awkwardly as Lucan groaned with anoyance and broke away from his wife, "but I was just wondering whether yourself and her ladyship would like some breakfast now." Clearly Thomas was just as embarassed having to stand there and witness a display of affection between his master and his wife, but Lucan just nodded at this and smiled, "Of course Thomas, just let us know when it's ready."
"Yes my lord" Thomas replied before darting away as quickly as possible.
Turning back to Camila, Lucan brushed a few hairs from her face, "Now...where were we?"

Lucan could see the looks on Cait and Griff's faces at Elaine's words, he just shrugged with a 'I was expecting that' expression and calmly looked at his stepmother. "Well then by all means you are more than welcome to leave and return home to father - i'm sure he'd love to hear how at least one of us has managed to make something of themselves. Oh and i'm referring to Griff if it hadn't escaped your notice" he smiled charmingly, because around Elaine, it really wasn't hard to channel it. Not.
Elaine was now giving Cait a look of daggers at the mention of congratulations. Oh dear, that would certainly hit more than a few nerves with her. Lucan saw her purse her lips tightly, "It is indeed young lady." Oh no Elaine, Lucan ran a hand down his face, watching his stepmother begin to boil, "However, when one is not satisfied with what they find then it is a bit hard to offer such a custom." "Then why are you here?" Lucan replied through gritted teeth. Elaine turned to him, "I came to see just what a shambles both my sons have made of themselves - I ws most certainly not expecting this much."
"My mother, my brother, my wife and my children all in one room...yes, this has certainly been enjoyable. Well, mother, I suppose you don't want to be too late getting back..."
"Oh its's been a riot" Lucan replied, seeing his brother's look of desperation for Luc to get Elaine out. The Knight turned to her, "You're forgetting something Elaine," Lucan replied, seeing Elaine's brows raise, "Im not your son, and nor will I ever be - now if you don't mind, I think it's time that I escorted you out and perhaps call for your carriage back to Glouchedon,"
Elaine's glare was now more colder than the winters of Camelot! "Well!" she huffed, "I will have to tell your father about how this place has turned you both into..."
"Into what exactly?" Lucan asked casually, "Into more happier men? Because that's who we are whether you like it or not. You can tell father all you like, but at the end of the day, im his heir, and i'll have you know that once the estate passes to me, you'll certainly know about it"
With that Lucan walked out calmly and into the courtyard, frankly he was more angry than he'd ever been in his life! But he dare didn't show it in front of Esmae and Arthur - they were already scared of the woman standing in their solar without their Uncle beginning a full blown argument. How dare this woman come and judge her only son and his family? Lucan had seen Griff grow from a child to a doting father who wanted nothing more than the love and safety of his wife and children. If Elaine couldn't stand to see him happy then clearly she shouldn't have come. He knew in a few moments she would be leaving and hopefully she would never set foot there again.

With news that practically a whole village had been slain by creatures who appeared to freeze their victims to death, Camelot's guard was up. Tonight there would be patrols around in case of attack, and unfortuantly for Lucan, he had volunteered to patrol the town. Yvain had immediatly made it clear that he would not be joining him, choosing to guard the castle that evening - trust his friend to choose a place to patrol where there was practically more shelter. Now Lucan was heading down to the armory to find a few weapons that he could take to defend himself to some extent. If he had to go it alone then he would.
Heading into the armory he began to hunt around for a few weapons, whilst putting some back from that morning's training practice. Would a cross bow kill something that could freeze someone to death? Lucan had no idea, not actually having seen one of these creatures in action and not wanting to.
He ran a hand through his hair, picking up a fallen lance pole and spying a few maces. Mace the creature to death really didn't sound like it would work either. "A sword it will have to be" he rolled his eyes and pulled out his sword form his belt to study it. It was sure sharp enough, but wouldn't really go up against a Dorcha? had Gauis called it? All Luc knew was the extent of the damage that had already been done.

His brows raised at the comment that she had made, he certainly hadn't been expecting something like that from her - had he have been any more suprised then his jaw would have dropped all the way to the floor. He folded his arms and gave her a quizzical look, "Is that so?" the corner of his lips tugging into a smirk, "I'll hold you to that".
Thank goodness she was allowing him to finally kiss her. He would've gone mad if she'd have rejected him again. He held onto her tightly as she toyed with his hair and ran her thumb under his eye, "It's fine" he smiled, "Everything should be sorted now anyway, and anyway, i'll be able to spend time with you working or not." Placing a small kiss on her forehead, he trailed them down softly to the corner of her lips, "You are the most important person in my life and to be honest, I don't know what i'd do without you." By offering to speak to Arthur, Lucan knew that she was trying to do everything a good wife should, and he was thankful for that, knowing he had made the right choice in marrying her.
"Now, what would you like to do today?" he asked

Camila looked concerned for him, mostly at the fact that he hadn't been in bed. "I had to sort out some unresolved issues reguarding the estate, darn things have been keeping me awake at night." He told her. There had been no question that he'd been losing too many a night of sleep over his father's affairs, and it was only now that he could finally have a clear head about the whole thing
He knew that she wasn't going to like the idea of him training a day after their wedding, which was why he'd already written a message and was about to send it. The idea hadn't appealed to him, but he was waiting for Camila's reaction before even doing anything.
"Alright" he smiled, "I'll send a message and then we can do whatever you want today. How does that sound?" In all honesty, he wanted nothing more than to spend the day with his wife. "Now will you let me kiss you?" he put on his best puppy dog pout and wrapped his arms around her waist. "I do love you y'know Camila - I hope you know that."

Lucan smirked at this, "True, but you've been lifting and so on, once again you win." he could tell this was going to turn into an interesting debate. "Besides, I hardly ever get stressed unless it was about something incrediably important."
By the look on Cait's face, she certainly hadn't been expecting him to say that he was single. Her comment about him turning down girls every week did make him laugh though. "You make me sound like a serial womaniser" he shot a coy glance at her before continuing, "and im quite the opposite actually - I err...well, I guess I find it hard to talk to girls." He shrugged this off as though it wasn't a big deal, managing to hide the embarassment by taking another long sip of wine.
Inbetween relationships. He nodded at this and could see that she was thinking that he was judging her. "Im not one to judge if that's what's on your mind" he told her, "anyway, if that's your outlook on relationships then it is, im not going to think badly of you." he smiled. "Right, my question is that now you've heard my appualling selection of music, what kind of stuff do you listen to."

There was no way that he needed this more than she did. "Ah but i've been sitting behind a desk, you've been moving boxes and whatnot - so I think you win for most deserving. "He gave a small chuckle and sat down with his own plate. He'd only taken a 15 minute lunch break due to beating yet another deadline to be done for after the weekend, and there was no way he was working over the weekend just to meet it, when he already spent many hours on his laptop (sometimes even working into the early hours of the morning) just to meet them.
Icebreakers, oh no - he hoped this wasn't anything too embarassing that he would have to admit to. Then again if Cait asked any questions like that, he could fire some back at her later. "Ok" he smirked, "you're on". He took another sip of wine for courage, and waited for Caitrin's first question. “Do you have a significant other?” Ok, so why hadn't he even considered that this would be her first question? He would be sure to ask her same in a few moments. Lucan cleared his throat and shook his head, "Nope, still on the market." he said, even holding up his hand so she would find no ring on his finger. "Much to the annoyance of my father" he added, "and you?"
Time to get to know one another better, otherwise the fridge method would certainly be used.

Once he'd ordered he hung up, "about ten to fifthteen minutes" he told her, finding that she'd shoved on some Florence and the Machine. At least she hadn't found his Horrible Histories Songs playlist. He was already embarassed in his taste of music without having Cait know that he'd actually converted most of the songs to his iPod.
To pass some time, he re-arranged the magnetic letters on his fridge door (something that he and Gwaine had purchased from Toys R Us to add a bit of fun to flatsharing), so that it didn't particually spell anything. "If you need to rant at me or just leave me a message when i'm not here, then use the fridge" he smirked, "Gwaine's messages usually consisted of 'We need more milk' or 'I Love Beer' - so it wasn't all that bad." Gwaine hadn't really been a bad flatmate, just when he'd left with no warning. Luc hadn't heard from him, so he assumed his friend was either shacked up with the new love of his life, or he was drinking himself into oblivion because the whole thing hadn't worked out.
He took another sip of his wine and almost spilt it down him as the buzzer for the flat sounded a little while later. Paying for the food he brought it back into the kitchen and dished it up. "Here you go, you look as though you need this" he grinned, taking the plate to Caitrin and passing it to her.

"Of course!" He called back when Cait annouced what she wanted, and now felt a little embarassed at the fact he was stood there in just a towel. Quickly turning away he headed to his room before it either fell down or before she could comment about it. It was bad enough he had a hard time talking to a girl without having to flat share with one. Mind you, Cait was quite easy to talk to so he didn't mind that. One thing was that he needed to get out more.
He opened the bottle of wine from the fridge and smirked, “Of course I drink, what do you take me for?” Grabbing two wine glasses from the cupboard he filled them both and passed one to Cait, "You'd be surprised at how many people I know that don't actually drink - so I thought I'd just check with you." he told her and took a sip. "It's fine, I'll order it, and they're usually quick anyway. What do you want?" he asked.
Luc picked up his phone, once again finding a missed call from Elaine, and tapping in the number. "Feel free to change the rubbish music or even browse for a film or something" he said, "Unfortuantly im a bit of a child when it comes to movies, so most of the ones I have a quite embarassing, but there's a few in there that aren't."

Ok, he had definatly needed that shower! Being in a suit all day really didn't do him justice whatsoever. Wrapping a towel around him, he walked out of the bathroom into the hallway. "I'll be a few minutes!" he called out to Cait, "Have you decided what you want yet?"
Finally dressing himself in something more comfortable he headed back into the kitchen where Cait was and peered over her shoulder at the menu. Chinese - good choice, because he could use a chow mein right now. Luc hadn't realised just how hungry he was until he'd actually got the menu's out. Heading over to the iPod dock, he scrolled through the selection of songs. Caitrin would most likely think that they were rubbish, but she was more than welcome to use her iPod (should she have one).
"Right, I think that your first night here calls for some celebration" he told her, pulling a bottle of wine from the fridge. "Or if you don't drink, I think I have some non alcoholic cocktail recipies somewhere."

Managing to save himself just in time from embarassment he nodded when Cait's head popped out of her room. "Just about" he smirked, "Did you manage to get everything here alright?" She must have followed him into the kitchen because now she was asking if he'd had a good day. "As good as it can get for me" he smirked and drunk the rest of the juice he'd poured into a glass.
Takeaway sounded good, at least there was minimal washing up. "You can choose whatever you want - after all it's your first night here." He rummaged through the kitchen drawer for the takeaway leaflets that he and Gwaine used to go through after very drunken friday nights usually ended up with neither of them cooking the next day. "Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay" he said sorting through them, "We've got chinese, indian, Dominoes Pizza, Sleek and Shine windows - no I don't think that's right..." he chucked that leaflet to the side, "or there's always the local chip shop."
Luc looked across to Caitrin. "Take your pick, im just going to take a quick shower and then we can order if that's alright?

Lucan rolled his eyes, Griff hadn't decided this - their father had. "If you say so" he shrugged it off as Griff took the sword. Lucan knew that this was either going to go very well or very badly. His suspicions were met when the sword managed to fly out of Griff's hand along with a statement that they were rubbish from Griff, as though it were some kind of contradiction. Lucan just shook his head at this. At least he'd tried, he himself hadn't a clue when he'd first picked up a sword, and had almost toppled over. If Griff wanted to learn then Luc would gladly teach him, but not if he wasn't going to stick at it. It hadn't helped that Griff had an audience either.
Lucan walked and retreived the sword from the ground, handing it back to Griff. "Take it slowly" he told him, "aim for the body, then the head and then back to the body again." Luc pointed out the different areas. Taking the sword from Griff he placed his hands on the hilt. "Grip it like this, that way it won't fly out of your hands and will be easier to hold." Showing him and then passing it back to his brother.
He looked over to where his father and Thomas were and nodded, Corneous nodding back and disappearing inside the house. Thomas would obviously stay and watch Griff, eagerly waiting for him to resume their lesson. "You know, you could always hide in the stables when you need to get away from Thomas. No one ever looks there." With that he went back to his place against the tree and waited for Griff to have another go. "Try now" he called.

Griff was now on his way over looking quite pleased with himself. Obviously his father had been kind enough to let his youngest have five minutes away from boring books and theories. "Father says I'm to have a go at sword practice." Griff now stated. Luc had no idea whether his little brother had even picked up a sword before, but smiled all the same, pulling the sword from the ground and passing it to Griff. "Father managed to save your mind from going crazy over naming every single King of Glouchedon then" he chuckled and stepped back, leaning back against a the trunk of a nearby tree to watch his brother. "Personally those lessons weren't my favourite either."
Lucan used to list of every King as quickly as Cadby could count them, just in order for them to move onto something more interesting. Griff looked relieved just to have five minutes away from Thomas, so obviously the lesson had been a total bore. Then again Griff found most of his tutoring boring, Lucan knew that much. He'd heard his father discussing about it with Elaine.
"Come on then, show us what you've got" he smiled and waited for his brother to take a swipe at the dummy.

Lucan's eye caught his brother and his tutor Thomas coming outside. Obviously his brother's notorious escape plan from one of his lessons hadn't worked again. Lucan knew about these - whenever Griff got bored he would wait until Thomas wasn't looking (or make so excuse) and then sneak out to find somewhere to hide. Sometimes Luc would see a pair of eyes peeping out from behind a curtain but chose to turn a blind eye. If Griff didn't want to learn then that was his problem. Lucan hadn't enjoyed tutoring himself, but had chose to grin and bear it for the sake of his sanity. Plus it meant he could stay as far away from his stepmother as possible. Lucan had been taught by a man called Cadby, who had practically shoved every book he could muster under his pupil's nose. Lucan had groaned and even considered 'losing' them, but knew that it wasn't going to last forever. He hadn't exactly been sad when Cadby had left and felt like he could finally have some freedom.
He continued to hack at the Elaine dummy, knowing full well that he wasn't going to get anywhere just standing around daydreaming all day. You couldn't daydream in battle, there was no time to stand and wonder. You had to think about tactics, the consequences, the skill. You had to be quick and agile on your feet, otherwise it was bye bye knighthood. Ignoring Thomas and Griff, he continued to practice - he would have to move onto archery soon before going to find his father. Corneous liked his son to visit him every afternoon to test his abilities as heir to the estate - this got on Lucan's nerves somewhat, as though his father didn't believe he was capable of such a thing, but it was all for the best. Lucan wondered if Corneous was doing the exact same thing with Griff, after all if Lucan were to suddenly die now the estate would pass to him.
Lucan finally stuck his sword into the ground and gave himself a breather, now seeing that not only were his brother and tutor outside, but his father. "A fine skill my boy" he laughed clapping Luc on the back, "seems my teaching has paid off - every man needs to learn how to fight and die with at least some honour." Lucan smiled slightly, "I will see you this afternoon - don't be late." Corneous told him and headed back into the house, stopping to speak to Thomas and Griff along the way.
"Griff, why not have a go at sword practice with Lucan? Im sure you can allow him five minutes Thomas?"

Passing Esmae back to Caitrin, Lucan knew now was the time to stand, watch and pray for the best as Elaine studied his brother and his family. Obviously she didn't look impressed, then again Elaine was never impressed with anything so that was something - now Griff was actually taking a stand and trying to keep the peace. Thank goodness...otherwise Luc would have been forced to say something that he would regret. He could see now that Caitrin was becoming just as agitated by her mother in laws presence as he himself was. She was as hard as nails and would speak her mind should Elaine say something patronising to her.
Now his brother was introducing the twins to Elaine, who raised a brow at Esmae and then another at Arthur. What did she expect? Mutants?! They were her grandchildren for crying out loud! and yet she hadn't even the decency to praise Griff or even smile at them. Luc was over protective of them all, and if Elaine even thought about stepping out of line, he knew he would have to either go out of the room and hack at a tree, or just keep giving her the coldest of looks. It angered him to see her treating his brother like a failure, when it was her who had come to see the twins and her son on her own accord.
"De Archer?" Elaine mused slightly, as though the name was a bad taste in her mouth, "I am not familar with the name." she looked the children up and down and nodded with slight approval. "Well...twins - I did not think that you were capable of producing two of them Griflet." she replied, "but I must say that they are very fine children. Had you have been our only son then your father would be most ecstatic at the news that the Aubert line can carry on." He gaze fell upon Lucan, "but it is a deep shame that your elder brother has yet to produce any rightful heirs. It seems you have suceeded where he has failed. "
Lucan, who was leant casually back against the wall now just gave Elaine a smug look and said nothing. He wasn't about to let a subject as sensative as this get to him. It worked, because when she saw no response from her step son, Elaine turned back to focus on her son and his family, "This is a very...nice house" she looked around with the same disapproval of politeness as earlier, "Does it belong to your father Caitrin?" Her gaze was still cold upon her daughter in law.

Lucan Aubert had risen extra early - not only to avoid everyone, but to actually prove to himself that he could work just as hard to achieve what he wanted. His Father Corenous had brought him up to be loyal, chivelrous and respectful, and that to die in battle was an honour. His father had many expectations of him, and being a Knight was one of them. Obviously Corneous didn't believe that his son would take this seriously. No - it was his duty to inherit the family estate, so as well as teaching him to fight (from a very young age and much to the annoyance of his first wife Amice) he began to mould all the qualities and knowledge that a future Duke would require. Lucan understood, he asked no questions but found he would rather spend most of his days learning different attacks with a sword rather than going over letters of importance.
Of course with his mother no longer there, and with only his stepmother Elaine (who chose to act as though he did not exist - unless it was of great importance) to 'fill' that role he had no other guidance and kept himself to himself. Lucan was all for privacy, and Elaine would only moan to his father that he was hacking at a tree again, rather than acting as a future Duke should. She could moan all she liked - he didn't care, Elaine would rather Griff - his brother - take over the family estate, which didn't seem that bad of an idea, unless his little brother stopped being such a brat and found that not everything in life would come at the snap of a finger.
Lucan didn't hate his brother. That was a strong word for a child that he didn't spend much time with. It was as though they led seperate lives, with Griff being tutored day in and out and Lucan being moulded into someone who he could not live up to. It would be nice for once to actually hold a conversation with Griff for more than a minute. Then again he was only nine years old and would much rather be off doing better things than talking to his older brother.
This morning, Lucan was choosing to hack at a self made dummy - if he was going to be a knight he needed all the practice he could get. He swung at it a few times, jabbing it lightly - then he would begin to wear himself out by going for an even harder stratergy. It would be easier to have someone to practice with, but a dummy would have to do for now. He would just pretend it was Elaine and have done with it, that alone made him swing at the dummy even harder. She was a hard woman to love after all.

Lucan had only dozed off for a few moments when he heard his name being called. Cam? Now she was up earlier than he expected. He opened his eyes sleepily and looked at her, getting up finally. He ran a hand through his hair and walked over to her, giving her a small kiss on the lips. "I didn't think you'd wake up until later" he smiled at her. Lucan was tired himself, but knew he had to be at the castle soon. He doubted that Cam would be impressed by this, but he wouldn't be long. Obviously she was wondering what an earth he was doing dozing in the a chair during the early hours of the morning, instead of being in bed with her. In all honesty he would much prefer to be in bed, but duty called. "I was just writing a letter to my Uncle" he told her, "and then unfortunatly I have to go to training, but I will be back as soon as possible..." Cupping her face with his hands he gave her another kiss, "Then we can do whatever you want."
Lucan would try to spend as much time with his wife as possible, he hadn't married her just to let her stay at home all day bored out of her mind. He loved her dearly and was prepared to do anything to make her happy.

The servant led them through to the room where Caitrin and Griff were, Elaine barging past first so as to make sure Griff would see her. Lucan just shook his head at this. Trust her to want to scare the twins before they'd even been introduced.
As soon as Lucan entered the room he literally just shrugged at Caitrin and Griff. "She made me bring her here, I couldn't stop her." He said with Elaine looking over her shoulder and shooting daggers at him. "I wanted to see my son and his family, surely that's not so much to ask? And since your father was unable to come I thought I would come on his behalf." Great. Already Corneous was being dragged into it. "I must say though Griff, I would've thought that Lucan would have taken you in instead of residing here." she looked around distastefully. "But then again I suppose you are both like each other in many ways."
"You're pushing it Elaine" Lucan warned, edging past her to stand beside Griff and Cait, and to protect his neice and nephew from the clutches of their villain of a grandmother - not that they knew, but she was already painting a picture of herself as just that right now. "Perhaps if you stopped insulting Griff and his family before you've even met them, he'll introduce you?" He didn't like this already.
Elaine shook her head with displeasure. "You said that my son had amounted to something, as did Allard. I come here to see if this is true and what do I find? He's living out of someone elses pocket and has produced children with some...some..." Her anger was now showing, and so was Lucan's.
"Don't even say it" He gave her a cold stare and picked Up Esmae, who was already making an escape for the door. She had the right idea, Luc wanted nothing more than to get out of here right now - and Elaine hadn't even met Caitrin properly yet! Holding his niece closely he looked at his stepmother. "Now if you have nothing more to say or to insult, then perhaps Griff will introduce you to his wife and children."
Defeated, Elaine backed down. Lucan gave Griff a small nod of encouragement and a wary look to Cait, so as she knew what was to come.

A servant had immediatly pounced on Lucan as soon as he'd returned home. Griff was there waiting for him? He knew exactly why. He hadn't seen him for quite a while, but at the same time was pleased that his brother was finally getting his life back on track, even if the woman he loved did hate his brother. He still was trying to come to terms with the revelation that Caitrin was pregnant though. Rouland had delievered the blow the day before and still Lucan wasn't too happy about the whole thing. Then again if Griff was happy then that was all that mattered. He would have to write to his father to tell him about all of this though. There was no way that Griff could pull keeping a secret like this off.
Walking into the room where Griff had been shown into, Lucan looked him up and down. It was the first time he'd seen Griff smile as well as look incrediably nervous. "Ah Griff..." he began as he studied his brother's expression. Yes definatly in euphoria at the fact that he was going to be a father. Lucan was anything but that at the moment, but he would eventually come round to the idea of there being a neice or nephew in his life. "Are you ok?" he frowned.
