Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT The expression on her face and the way she recoiled from his touch said it all. Something definitely wasn't right. She asked for forgiveness, once again using his title and once again, confirming his fears that something was . . . off. Very off. As if her reaction wasn't enough, she then spoke names that caused him to freeze. He could have sworn his heart skipped a beat in the shock that presented itself. His eyes slightly widened, lips parted. "My . . . father?" His father? The king? What . . . that didn't make sense! His father was dead. Arthur had been the one responsible for his death. Arthur had mourned him. Arthur had become king. How . . . how was this possible?
"He's . . . alive?" Arthur asked, suddenly longing for nothing more than to see his father. What world did he enter into? No. This had to be a dream. This was not real. It couldn't be real. He would wake up in bed, next to his wife, and the two of them would laugh about this ridiculous dream and how a Guinevère from years ago would react to his advances. Years ago. "Guinevère . . . " He said her name because . . . because he needed to know what was happening. And he didn't know how to ask her when she seemed so, put off by him. "Where's Merlin?" If his father was here, and she was like . . . how she was . . . perhaps Merlin would have answers. Merlin always seemed to have the answers to strange situations.

Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT He supposed that was true. But to still realize that was the . . . ultimate authority was rather, nerve wrecking. A feeling that only grew more daunting as she spoke of how he would create the laws and how the kingdom would prosper. But he focused on the other part of her words. The part that he liked. The part where . . . she told him she would like a tour. She may have said she understood, but Arthur doubted he could ever marry someone he didn't love. He took her hand that touched his harm, holding it in his own as he raised it to his lips and kissed the back of it.
"I may be king, but as you said, I have a choice in how I choose to . . . be one." To rule as one. "And being in an unhappy marriage would not make for a very strong king." Because he had learned the value of having loved ones around. How it made one stronger. He knew his mother loved his father, and she had been heartbroken with how things had turned out. Arthur had never forgiven his father for it . . . knowing he had been king, didn't change that. "I don't want to marry a princess or queen, or anyone that I do not love." These were perhaps the most confident words he had said in a long time.
"I've always intended to marry for love, and that has not changed." And . . . with how his feelings for her were developing . . . well, he was looking forward to seeing where this went. He smiled, taking in her words of liking a tour, and found himself excited to give her one. He also was very aware that he was still holding her hand. "I don't know how kings court a woman," he said almost in teasing. "But if I'm doing it wrong, feel free to correct me." Another playful jest, to celebrate the fact that she was agreeing to explore this incredible connection they had.

Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Arthur felt the wetness of her center, letting him know that she was readying for him and the moment where their bodies would become one was close. So close. Locking eyes with her, Arthur gazed at her through heavily lidded eyes, laden with desire, affection, love, need . . . and so many other things that coursed through him. She spoke of wanting to see him. Wanting to feel him. And . . . yes. He wanted that too. Yet, there was a relief in hearing her speak them first. In knowing that she was ready. He breathed against her, his hand skimming her heat slowly ending its trail as his fingers went to the lace of his trousers.
The last piece of clothing between the two of them. His chest heaved, swallowing as he knew that this was it. Slowly pulling the ties until they were loose, and he was able to pull down his trousers. He pushed them down as far as he could reach, before kicking off the rest and letting it join the pile of clothing on the floor. He felt some relief in no longer being constrained by the fabric, yet he knew there was only one way to provide the ultimate relief. He guided his cock to her center, tucked between her legs yet he did not enter her. Not yet. He pressed his forehead against hers, as if savouring this moment. The anticipation greater than ever before. Letting it all sink in. Set in. "I love you," he breathed against her lips, before kissing them deeply and simultaneously, slowly entering her.

Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT While there was a relief that the kingdom was safe, that people had awoken . . . that no one had died, Arthur could not help but feel the weight of one who was not among them. Morgana. Morgause had taken her and Arthur had yet again, failed in protecting her. His father was already at an outrage, and Arthur knew there would be no rest until she was found and brought safely home. Yet right now, he was attempting to deal with yet another situation which was the dragon's release. Someone had sworn they saw the great dragon fly high into the sky and when they had checked the caves down below, sure enough . . . the chains had been broken. Arthur knew it was too optimistic to hope that the dragon would leave and they'd never see him again. For the time being however, it was quiet. Too quiet. Like a calm before a storm.
A feeling experienced when he and Merlin had returned to the city to find everyone asleep. He had been speaking to a few of the knights to make preparations for a potential attack, while also trying to organize a first search party for Morgana. And yet, in his mind, there were certain people he wished to check on. He had already checked on his father. And the other was -- "Guinevère," he said with a bit of surprise as he rounded the corner, and there she was! He felt his heart skip a beat and . . . it only reminded him of how, dishonourable he was. For he had fallen in love with the wife of a dear friend. He hated himself for it, and yet, he could not stop himself. He only knew he could not act upon it.
Not more than he already had, for he had kissed her and . . . seeing her brought him both joy and pain. He quickly brought himself back to the present when she thanked, confused for a brief moment as to what she was thanking him for. Then, he realized. "No thanks is needed," he assured her in a low voice. He looked over her, each beat of his heart aching as it filled with longing. For seeing her awake, he wanted nothing more than to wrap his arms around her and feel the warmth of her embrace. To feel the comfort and strength she seemed to always provide him. Yet, he couldn't. For she was not his. "Are you alright?" He asked, hoping there were no lasting effects of the spell upon her.

Tag: @emily Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Arthur smiled at Catherine when she spoke of what it meant to her, the smile turning into one of amusement as she added that it was terrifying and was glad it was over. He could certainly understand that. He felt similarly when he'd been crowned Prince, and could only imagine how he would feel when being crowned king. It was one of the burdens being sovereign. Everyone was watching your every move and on occasions such as this, there were all keeping an extra watchful eye. "Well if you were terrified, it certainly didn't show," he assured her, wanting her to know that despite what she felt . . . she held composure. "So it's a good job you didn't trip or fall," he added on teasingly towards her. When she told him that she had to dance with every male, he slightly raised an eyebrow.
"Is that truly a custom in Anglia?" He questioned with the same teasing tone. "I hope you have the stamina to keep up then," he said motioning towards the first male who approached them. A light smirk played on Arthur's features as she told him she would be back, and once she started dancing, he used the time to mingle and catch up with old friends, while making new acquaintances. This was after all, part of journeying to such events. He had lost track of time when Catherine approached him and said that he was waiting for a dance. He turned towards her, smiling. "I don't know, you may have kept me waiting too long," he said with clear jest, obviously not meaning it. He watched her twirl around before lowering himself in a bit of a bow as an introduction to the dance. He then extended his hand for her to take. "Are you sure you're not too tired?" He asked, a playful challenge in his voice.

Tag: m Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Arthur had what? Merlin did what? Arthur tried to comprehend his words, tempted to mock Merlin for saying something so proposterous. But . . . there was something about his tone. His demneanour. It was all very, unfamiliar. A weight to his words that Arthur could not laugh off. And, it was unsettling. As he tried to process them, flashes of what once was entered his mind. "Mordred," he said suddenly. He remembered. Standing on a battlefield. Facing Mordred. The blade piercing his armour before . . . he did the same to the other male. "Morgana." Another name that was undoubtedly linked to his death . . . no, her death. He had watched her die.
He had seen her slain on the ground because Merlin had-- Merlin. Arthur's eyes slightly widened, the hand that gripped the towel limply falling to his side as he just stared at the man before him. He felt frozen, numb, and yet so many things raced through his mind at the same time. His lips parted as if to speak yet no words came out. He remembered. He remembered every moment. He remembered Merlin. And that . . . "You have magic." He didn't know what his tone yet. Shock. Surprise. Perhaps it was emotionless. Arthur hadn't the faintest clue. Their conversations while Arthur had apparently been dying, played over in his mind. The bottom line though, was that Merlin had magic. And he had used it yet again, to somehow bring Arthur back.

Tag: m Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Relief did not even begin to cover how Arthur felt in the knowledge that the dragon would no longer be a threat. He feared that there would be no one left in Camelot if the dragon continued to unleash it's wrath upon them. Yet . . . Arthur's mind could not rest. The threat was over, but there was something else that had been bothering him. Last night should have been one of rest, yet he had very little. If any at all. His mind still processing what he had over heard. He thought it all to be a dream. A strange, bizarre and completely irrational dream. But no. The more he thought about it, the more it made sense. And . . . that was exactly what Arthur feared. So this morning, he was dressed and ready, but unsure he was fully prepared to face the day.
He had all night to think about it and . . . it still made it no easier to accept. He had once told Merlin he should not have kept Will's secret from him . . . but it had been Merlin this entire time. And now with the threat of the dragon gone, and peace -- for the time being -- restored in Camelot, he knew he could not keep his knowledge of this hidden forever. He stood by his windowsill, a common place for the Prince to be when deep in contemplation. A knock at the door followed by an all too familiar voice alerted Arthur to Merlin's presence, though he made no move to turn around and look at him. Why did Merlin continue to serve him? If he was a sorcerer, why do this?
Arthur kept his face stoic, quiet, trying to figure out how to best broach this subject. "I still don't understand it," he finally said. "For so many nights, our weapons were useless against it." The dragon, he slowly turned, yet found it nearly impossible to look at the man who had become a brother of heart. The man who had been lying to him this whole time. The man who was . . . a sorcerer. "Tell me again how it happened," he asked, wanting every detail. Perhaps holding on to some hope that he was wrong. That Merlin, surely not Merlin the man he emphatically trusted, had this grand secret.

Tag: m Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Arthur had nearly given up all hope. This was not the first time Morgana had been on the brink of death, but with each passing moment . . . it felt as if she was slipping further and further away. She was so incredibly strong though, so all Arthur could do was keep praying that that strength would pull her through the darkness. Silently begging her to keep fighting. To not give up. And to prove once again, that against all odds, she would come back. She would live. The irony of it all. They had spent so long looking for her and to lose her now? The mere thought was already causing Arthur's heart to break. What he wouldn't give for her to open his eyes. Wishing so desperately, that he could switch places with her. After everything she had been through . . . fate just seemed so cruel.
Arthur had been mourning, feeling so helpless, so powerless to do anything. He would fight an army for her but with an internal injury . . . what could he do? Nothing. And that made his pain turn into anger. Yet beating a dummy had done no good. So he just sat in his room, tears in his eyes as he could not bare to think of a life without his sister of heart in it. That was when a knock came and Arthur practically leapt to his feet. Gaius. With news that Arthur did not dare to believe. News . . . that almost seemed too good to be true. He did not stand around to question it. Instead, he rushed towards where she had been resting for so long -- too long.
When he walked through the doors, he saw her. Eyes open. Breath in her body. Relief did not even begin to cover it as his eyes slightly widened, hurrying to her side where he immediately sat on the stool next to the bed she lay upon. "Morgana," he said practically in disbelief. He wanted to hug her, wrap his arms around her, yet also knew that she must be weak from all she had endured. So he just took her hand, kissing the back of it before holding it to his forehead. "Thank god," he breathed in relief. There were no words of jest or teasing. Not in this moment. All he could feel was the joy that exploded within him in seeing her alive. In seeing that her strength had once again paid off; they would not lose her so easily.

Tag: e Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Arthur gave a nod to him, a smile remaining on his lips when Elyan thanked him for the support. "No thanks is required," he assured him. "If there is anything you ever need, all you have to do is ask." Arthur wanted to help Elyan settle her, if not only to ensure Guinevère was not alone. Besides, ever since what she had once said to him, Arthur felt partly responsible for their father's death. Nothing he could do would ever make up for it, but offering what aid he could and what was within his power, was at least a start.
He then chuckled at Elyan's question, stating that he was looking for Gwen to put her hard at work. The man had a good sense of humour, that was for certain. "I don't doubt she would be able to handle it too," Arthur said in praise of her. "She is certainly one of the most hard working people I know," he added. He admired Guinevère for that -- and for so many other reasons. Truth was, he wasn't certain what Elyan knew -- or assumed -- of his relationship with Guinevère. And he was well aware that it may require a conversation at some point. "Though that seems to run in the family," he added on, now words of compliment towards Elyan, seeing how far he'd come along with the forge . . . not to mention his skill in battle. Besides, Tom as well was rather hard working.

for the love OF CAMELOT Arthur gave a polite smile, knowing it lacked the joviality. He knew that such a day held a mix of emotions. On the one hand, a coronation meant a new era for a kingdom. But on the other, it was often coupled with a recent death. Arthur knew that in a way, his father had been dying ever since Morgana had broken his spirits.
Arthur had a burst of hope, seeing his father enjoy the festivities of his birthday . . . only to have lost him completely. And he was well aware, that it was entirely his own fault. "Thank you," he said with a nod of appreciation. "For both the condolences and for the congratulatory words." It did mean a great deal to Arthur, to have his friend's presence here. "Your support means a great deal." And Arthur meant that. Truly. The burden of being a king would not be made easy if he did not have the support of others, be it nobles, knights, or civilians.

Tag: @emily Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Arthur smiled as she walked in. She was certainly beautiful and already held the regal look of a queen. The ceremony carried on flawlessly, as she took an oath as queen, to protect the people. To rule to the best of her ability. The crowd erupting to chant Long live the queen! once the crown was placed upon her head. Arthur knew that a coronation was a bittersweet event. For one, it marked the loss of one's parents -- though she had lost hers at a much earlier age. It also held the burden of ruling. But . . . at the same time, it was a new beginning. A chance to showcase the strength of a kingdom's sovereign and from what he knew of Elizabeth, he had no doubt that she would indeed be a wonderful one.
When she was crowned and the crowd started to mingle, Arthur waited patiently as she greeted each guest and once she got to him and acknowledged him -- thanked him -- he smiled and spoke in return. "I wouldn't miss this for anything," he told her. Though, he also knew that sometimes it was out of his control. He was only too glad that this time . . . he hadn't had to miss such an occasion. "Congratulations your majesty," he said with a continued smile, lowering his head and lightly kissing the back of her hand out of respect before meeting her gaze once more. "I can think of no better sovereign of Aglia." Than her. "And I do hope one of those dances you spoke of is reserved for me," he added on teasingly. She was a dear friend and he wished to celebrate this day with her.

Tag: @emily Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT It wasn't often that Arthur left Camelot for, leisurely purposes. The past year he had barley been home, for he had been scouring every inch of the kingdom and those beyond it looking for Morgana. Had she not been found, Arthur would have not been able to attend the coronation of their dear friend and ally. But fortune had finally shone done on them. Morgana had returned home, safe and sound, and Arthur was to set out to their allied kingdom to attend the coronation of the young queen. His heart went out to Elizabeth, as he knew what it was to be without a mother, yet he still had his father.
He wished to offer whatever support he could to her, for she would now be queen at such a young age. And Arthur, could only imagine the pressures she would face. Imagine . . . because his father was still of this world, and that still made him a prince. Once he arrived, he was shown to his guest chambers to ready for the event. It did not take long until everyone was gathered in the grand hall of the castle. The crowd mingling, Arthur speaking to other royals and nobles of the like.
He knew the importance of this, for while Arthur wished to attend because he wanted to give support to Elizabeth, his father wanted him to attend to keep stable the alliance they held with Anglia. One reason was far more personal, the other more political though Arthur supposed that summed up the difference in him and his father. The crowd received word that the princess -- soon to be queen -- had arrived and everyone eased into silence, as they watched the doors and awaited for her to step through them so that she would be crowned Queen of Aglia.

Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Arthur wished it was just about power and gold, but he knew that it was more . . . personal than that. That clearly, he had done something to make them hate him. Yet his next question brought the subject to rest when she led him over to sit, and she began to explain. There was . . . a great deal of information, and Arthur remained silent while trying to process all of it. From how Helios found her, to being favored by her . . . he did not dare to think of what that entailed, but he assumed that she was untouched. Surely, she would have told him had something more, severe happened. So he did not let his thoughts dwell on such dark possibilities. Helios was dead now and if he hadn't been, Arthur would surely had made sure of it by now. She then spoke of Morgana having come to discuss their plans, and Guinevère overhearing them.
When she spoke of his hunting trip, though it was years ago, Arthur remembered it very clearly. It had been when he found the ring, and when he knew for certain he could not go through with the marriage. He also recalled the confusion he felt when his arrow did not go where he aimed. The beauty of the deer they saw and . . . how they tried to find it, knowing it was hit, after Mithian struck it. It was a sickening thought to know that Morgana would do something so twisted as to have Guinevère transformed. What a cruel game she played . . . how so far she was from the sister he had grown up with and loved so dearly. It all made sense now, as Guinevère put his hand on her leg and spoke of how Mithian didn't miss. Yes. He remembered. They struck the deer's leg. No. Not a deer. Guinedeer Guinevère.
"I could have killed you," he realized, taking away the incredibly close call. Of how close he had been to killing her. "I almost killed you," he added on. And . . . would he ever have even known? Would have ever have realized what had happened? Would . . . Merlin ever have told him? "Merlin knew?" He both asked and stated. He knew that she had been a deer and that he and Mithian had nearly killed her? "I found the ring that day." Merlin knew he had found the ring. "I'm sorry, Guinevère," he said, his hand still on her leg where she placed it, his other arm wrapped around her as if to pull her close for a hug. An apology was needed for many things. For banishing her only to discover she had done nothing wrong. For nearly killing her. And, for putting a target on her because of his blood relation to Morgana.

Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Was he sure. Arthur didn't think he was sure of anything. Except, for the bonds he had created. But then she spoke of marrying a princess and his eyes slightly widened at the thought of it. "I definitely don't wish for that," he told her. The thought of marrying a princess was . . . daunting. Would they try force that upon him? Surely they couldn't make him. "Land and coin does not mean happiness." He knew what happiness was. Happiness was being surrounded by the people you loved.
People that you found joy with. His life had been simple, but he had been happy with his mother. With his friends. Giving that up for the sake of gold and land was . . . not something Arthur was willing to do. "And I would rather have a happy marriage, then a forced one." For surely, any princess forced in such a position would not be happy either. "Are they going to try to make me marry a princess?" He asked her, voicing aloud his earlier thoughts. He didn't know how much control the council had but he assumed that he as king, had the final word and that was certainly something he was not going to agree to.

Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Arthur felt . . . relieved when Guinevère spoke of her liking of his actions. Truth was, he hadn't exactly done this often. He was learning her body. Learning her likes and dislikes. Learning where and how to touch her. The fact that they loved each other certainly helped ease the uncertainty of such intimacy. He couldn't imagine ever being married and this way to a woman he did not love. Feeling her hands on his body served as encouragement -- as did her words of course. His lips moved along her breast, reaching her nipple where he held it between his lips for a moment before kissing his way to the middle of her chest.
His hand slowly starting to move higher and more . . . central. "You feel wonderful," he breathed, meaning every word. She felt . . . incredible. He could not put it into mere words. His fingers inched higher and higher, reaching her heated center, his fingertips brushing against her outer walls to simply, touch her. Feel her. Somehow maintaining some control though she had him aching with need. His lips moved towards her neck, kissing the side of it as he adjusted himself a little more over her, letting out a heavy breath from the strain that his pants were starting to take on him as his ache grew more, the more he touched her, the more he kissed her.

Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Arthur may have only known her a short while, but he could tell with her tone that something was coming. Her steps slowed and something in the air shifted, even if it was just slightly. She spoke of how people would judge him by who he was seen with. He stopped his own steps when she then referred to herself as . . . inappropriate. He understood what she was saying and yet, didn't at the same time. "And yet, is it appropriate for a blacksmith to be king?" He asked, the question a bit rhetorical for he knew it was not. He was a blacksmith far longer than a royal and . . . he knew that status just didn't disappear. Or at least, he assumed as such.
"Is it appropriate for me to be seen with the men who I considered my brothers?" Another rhetorical question . . . considering one of those men was her own brother. And the fact that he was going to find a way to knight them. "I don't know how the people will see me as king, but I know the people who see me as Arthur. And I would much rather they stand with me, than follow me." She was included in that category. His thoughts of her, his growing feelings did not change because he was king. If anything, they grew. For it was her strength that helped bring him here. "People should be judged for their heart and actions, not their blood and titles." Because blood and titles were nothing if one did not have the strength of heart. That was how Arthur wished to rule. With his heart. Not just his head. "And you Guinevère, have a good heart." Words filled with sincerity as he looked at her, wanting her to see that he truly meant it.

Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Artuhr lifted the dress more, and more, and more until he divested her of the last article of clothing she wore. It joined his jacket and her dress on the ground, uncaring where it landed as he did not take his eyes off of her for a single moment. Quite the opposite in fact. For the first time, she was completely bare to him and Arthur moved his eyes slowly over her body, taking in every inch of her in all her beauty. It made his own ache intensify, their centers pressing against each other only reminding him of the relief he needed. And yet still, he would not rush this. His hand trailed up her body, eyes enjoying the sight of her. Enthralled by her.
He lowered his head, kissing her collarbone before inching lower, placing soft kisses along her skin. "You are so beautiful," he whispered in between each embrace. She told him that they were beyond her knowledge, yet Arthur knew it was better to show her than to explain it. He hardly wanted this to be a clinical affair. He wanted the passion that he knew would come to speak for itself. His lips moved lower, brushing against one of her now exposed breasts as he kissed along it, slowly, tentatively as if to see whether his wife was comfortable with this. His other hand moving in a repeated up and down path on her thigh. How someone could be so beautiful, he would never comprehend.

Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Yes. It would indeed take time. And action. He still considered himself more of his mother's son, than his father's son. He did not wish to be like Uther or Morgana. He wanted to take after his mother, and rule with the values and morals she had instilled within him. As far as he knew, he had only one parent. He smiled as he followed her lead, taking in the sight of every path. Every building. Every detail that he could take in at this moment. He also quite liked the sound of them going through a quieter path, wanting to greet the people but also . . . wanting to spend this time with her first.
He knew it would be limited in the days to come, and familiarizing himself with the city was secondary; a convenient -- though legitimate -- excuse to spend time with Guinevère. She spoke of a short cut to work and, part of him wanted to ask her what she would do in Morgana's absence. Would she remain a servant? With him being king and his friends knights . . . surely there was a way to elevate her, as she deserved. Fortunately, her last statement distracted him for he did not wish to dampen the moment with talk of work and status. He smiled when she told him that their last one was cut short. "I don't blame you," he said with a slight chuckle. "But, just means I'll have to make it up to you," he said teasingly, perhaps with flirtation in his voice as well.
"Of all places to find the one you were looking for," he said with a chuckle and slight shake of his head. So much had felt like fate . . . destiny. Perhaps that was too. "I hope to return to that town soon," he admitted. The house he was raised in was still there, and he wished to collect what he could. "Perhaps you could accompany me? And I can give you a proper tour," he suggested smiling. He wanted to show her his home. His real home. Not this, extravagant castle. But rather . . . where he came from. For she knew the path he was set on now, but not his roots. To him, that was just as -- if not more -- important.

Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT Arthur knew her words to be true. His friends were there because they wanted to be. They had come to the gathering army, because they chose to. They had left their lives in the city because . . . they had faith in him. He wanted to honour that. To honour them. And he was planning to do so the only way he knew how he could. Give them the highest honour. For they were his brothers. He grew distracted by noticing the men that followed, Guinevère explaining that their job was to protect him. He thought back to those who may have died to protect him. It was . . . just as unsettling as so many other things. To know that these people would place their lives in danger, for him. He knew it was more for the crown but still.
"I wish they wouldn't," he said in a low voice. He knew that sounded ungrateful and quickly clarified. "I only mean I wish no one felt they had to . . . endanger themselves." But there was an army of knights that fought for the their sovereign and protection of the kingdom. He hoped to prove that he would do the same for everyone here. Arthur couldn't help but feel a wave of relief wash over him when she explained that he had been . . .brilliant. Brilliant! "I feared I sounded ridiculous," he admitted with amusement. He listened to her explain Morgana and Uther's rule; both laden with power and ruling through fear. "I hope so," he admitted quietly. "I still can not bring myself to wear it," he said, hoping she knew what he meant.
"I feel no pride in it, until I rightfully earn their respect and loyalty is deserved from the people." He would not wear it. There was so much more he wished to say, but then she asked him what his first order as king was. Had her tone been different, he would have felt the weight of the question. But considering they were now in the courtyard and in each other's company, Arthur felt ease in answering. "Not so much an order, as it is a debt owed," he said the same tease in his voice. "I seem to remember giving you a tour in the town I lived," he told her with a continued smile.
"I believe it time you repay the favour," he added playfully. He knew this was not going to be his life: casual strolls through the city. He also did not want it for the eyes that would be upon him and his crown. In fact, he had considered taking off the crown. But . . . he could no longer hide. He had his coronation and everyone now knew. He wanted to learn the city, walk the streets, be among the people and have them know . . . that he was just like them. "Perhaps starting with where we first met." His once forge, and a forge once owned by her father.

Tag: Guinevère Note: Better layout coming soon! for the love OF CAMELOT He closed his eyes when she kissed him, taking in the reassurance that they were ok. That despite his . . . failure to see the truth, they would be ok. She was right though. They had proven to be stronger than Morgana's hate and that they could over come all obstacles. He knew that he would have to confront Merlin about this. That the pain of his lies was a wound too fresh. But with him and Guinevère, it would be alright. It was alright. "It's why she has never won," Arthur stated. She had certainly come close a few times, but she was never truly victorious. She had taken and lost the kingdom twice, and Arthur hoped that the second, would be the last time.
"And hopefully, never will." For he did not doubt that she was still out there, somewhere. Plotting her next move. Yet he would enjoy these quiet years without news of her. He wrapped his arms around his wife, holding her against him as he just drew the strength she always gave him. The peace she always filled him with. "Part of me wishes I had seen you in the woods that day," he said, still lamenting over the past. He had found her ring, but not her. And she had said she'd been injured. Piecing things together, he moved his head back a little, letting the detail of her words sink in, and though he was looking at her, his arms remained around her. "Why didn't I?" She said she saw Mithian and him in the woods. How had he not seen her?
