The brunette almost growled in frustration as Arthur once again asked if she remembered anything. "I told you, no," she almost snapped, only just managing to keep her voice in check. "It was a while ago, and I was drunk, and I don't even remember actually doing anything," Morgana cut herself off, berating herself for revealing so much, or rather, revealing that she remembered so little. But truly, she did not remember even doing the deed! How could Arthur then ask her what she remembered when the answer was nothing?! As the Prince admitted he didn't know how his father would react to the news, Morgana gave a defeated, tired laugh. "We both know how he will react," she replied quietly. "And it will not be favourably."
Her whole body stilled almost completely as Arthur spoke of 'other options', her mind surging blankly in panic for a moment. "What are you...?" Slowly she caught on, her eyes widening in first confusion, and then horror. "I could never! It... it is not the... it is not the... this thing's fault," she pointed out, unable to say the word 'child'. "So why should it be the one to pay for my crime? I was the fool, I was the ... " she shook her head, closing her eyes briefly. "What do you think I should do?" asked Morgana, quietly.

As Arthur swore once more to try and save her from his father's wrath, the Ward bit her lip, taking his hands. "Arthur, please. I am begging you. Do not risk everything for me." But as the Prince pointed out that she woudl not have stood by if it were he in her situation, she could not deny his words. For Morgana knew that if ever the same situation should arise for Arthur, she would do everything in her power - Uther be damned - to save him, to protect him.
"We both know that if your father turns a blind eye, and lets me live, the people will rise against him," she stated. "I do not hold any illusions that they care for me, but there are many that have suffered under his hate, and to see his ward treated so differently would do nothign but anger them. Would you really risk that, for me? Risk the peace of Camelot?" Morgana met Arthur's eyes, chewing slightly on her lip. "I am not going to convince you against this, am I?"

Morgana stilled as Arthur demanded - nay, almost shouted at her to leave. It was clear he didn't know - and probably didn't care - who he was talking to, but for a moment she hesitated. She had been on her way to his rooms to ask if he wanted to join her for a ride, when one of the guards outside had informed her of how agitated the Prince seemed. The guard's worry had been enough to cause Morgana to worry herself, and thus she had come to see what the matter was.
But the sight of Arthur bracing himself above the table, looking for all the world like an angry, caged lion, made a shudder run through her body, and irrational thoughts sliced through her mind. Did he know somehow about her magic? Was he aware of her plotting with Morgause? What else could truly have caused such anger in such a normally reasonable man? Forcing her mind to go blank, Morgana put on a face of trained concern, and stepped forward. "Arthur, what is it?" she asked, for all the world sounding like a concerned sister. "What is wrong?"

The brunette almost flinched away from Arthur's touch, but forced her body against doing so, grateful that she hadn't when he spoke, saying that he was glad she had been 'found', and stating how long she had been missing. The ward sighed, biting her lip. Was it worth correcting him? was it worth telling him the truth - that she had wanted to go? That she had made her way there, rather than be kidnapped? She suspected it would not matter. Arthur was many things Uther was not, but the one tendancy both Pendragons had was to distort the truth for their own minds. Morgana managed a slight smile as he said it was time for her to come home, though the smile dropped quickly. "Home," she mused, not realising the word had been spoken aloud. "what is home?"
Her mind was adrift, and therefore the young woman was a little startled when she suddenly felt herself being enveloped in the arms of the man she had once seen as a brother. Who, she realised now, as she buried into his protective embrace, she had deeply missed, and still saw as a brother. She rested her head gently against his shoulder in a moment of rare tenderness, sighing quietly. Here, at last, was something familiar and welcomed in Camelot. With Arthur ... could she be herself? She hoped so, and she would pray so. "I have missed you more than you will ever know," murmured Morgana, for the words were the truth.
Despite all she had learned, and all she had accomplished with the druids, she had missed her brother of heart. Missed having someone to laugh and joke with, to tease and to be teased by. The druids were wonderful people, but so serious and so .... peaceful. Sometimes Morgana had longed for the madness that Arthur sometimes drew out of her, she longed for the days when they would bet against each other, or simply take horses and ride as far away from Camelot as they could before dark, simply for the joy of it. "How have you been?" she asked softly.

The previous ward of Uther Pendragon nearly growled aloud at what she assumed to be a command from the Priestess. What on earth had Morgause been thinking?! This ... woman was not fit to be brought back! To replace Morgause with this lady had been a mistake, one Morgana knew she could never correct. Oh, how foolish she had been! She pushed the thought aside with annoyance, speaking quietly. "It has been three years and five months since then," stated the brunette. "Uther is no longer King, he is dead. Arthur is King, and rules kindly but not in favour of those who practice magic." She paused, unsure how much information to give to this Priestess. Perhaps it was not wise to tell her all at once; to hold back some information for now might give her leway in the future. She paused, recalling the way Nimeuh had asked her about those things. "Was that your doing?" she asked, suddenly. "Did you send the Questing Beast to hunt Arthur?"
Her fingers clenched tightly on Morgause's body as the lady dared called her a child, and she opened her mouth to protest the words, but Nimeuh continued, and Morgana reluctantly listened, slowly beginning to understand that this woman, this priestess, might not be as dumb as she first appeared. "I was told that you were my sister's teacher," Stated the brunette, meeting Nimeuh's eyes. "I was informed that you were powerful, cunning and intelligent. I see some of those traits within you, and I know my sister woudl not have given her life so willingly if she had not believed you would help me," Hesitantly, the would-be-Queen nodded. "I agree with your terms." she stated. "But you must treat me as I deserve to be treated. I am not some child, and I am not the innocent I once was. You must know now that much has changed, things have occured to change the way I see the world, the way I see those that I once cared for. I am a Priestess in my own right, and I demand to be acknowledged as such, even by you. If you can agree to those terms, then I will agree to yours."

An eyebrow raised on the otherwise calm features at the snap, and Morgana narrowed her eyes at Yassia. "You would do well not to irk me, my Lady." She stated, her voice calm. "There is more than just your fate at stake here. You may find yourself responsible for the fates of others if you continue down this path of distruction. I would place your words and thoughts carefully, and treat me with the respect we both know I deserve."
She chuckled at the panic that suddenly appeared on the girl's face at the mention of her friend, watching Yassia rise to her feet without fear, knowing the girl could do her no harm - after all, Morgana had the upper hand, and she would make sure it stayed that way for as long as she could. "Ah, I thought you might know that name." The Queen smiled, though it was not a smile of friendship but of victory. "Are you not friends? I would have thought you would know her better, but sadly it seems you do not! For less than a few weeks has passed, and yet she has become my ally! She has signed a treaty, with a willing heart." The Queen paused, enjoying the moment. "I have to admit, I was rather disappointed at her willingness to betray her friends. I am sure Arthur himself will be devistated when eventually I find him."
The brunette's eyes met with those of Yassia's, cold and calculating. "I would warn you to be cautious with your anger, for her fate, as well as yours, is in my hands. I think you would not like her a head shorter."

The Lady's heart was filled with sorrow and bitterness as she sat upon the windowsill, looking out into the courtyard. Her mind was filled with the screams of the people she had grown to call her own as they had been slaughtered by the King of Camelot. Though she desperately tried to rid herself of these memories, Morgana le Fay knew that she would never be able to. She had been forced back here, into this hell, this place where she would be surpressed and warped into becoming something she was not, and all for the pleasure of a Prince and a King. If they had really cared for her, they would have let her be.
But Morgana would not allow tears to fall. Not for her capture, not for the druid people. For it was from them that she had learned that in death came peace - and she could only pray that they were now peaceful. They would join their ancestors, and be happy in a world that knew little fear. Still, she could not help but lament them, and her heart grew cold toward the Pendragon family, blaming them entirely for the death of those she'd come to love and respect.
The knock upon her door pulled the brunette from her thoughts, and though she did not move, nor indicate admittance, the door creaked open, and Arthur's voice sounded, his name upon her lips in a tumble of relief. Morgana did not look at him, but simply continued to stare out of the window, wondering what now would happen to her. As the person she had come to once know as a brother called her name, Morgana's eyes turned to face the Prince, managing a slight smile upon her lips. "It is good to see you again, Arthur," she stated honestly. "But I wish by all the Gods that your men had not found me thus."

The confusion on the other woman's face was not helping Morgana's confidence. Her sister had spoken of the Priestess in such high regard; how could they have made such a mistake? Who was this idiot that had been sent to them? The Witch forced back the words that she wanted to say, holding her dead sister a little closer, wishing beyond wish that they had not gone a head with this plan, that Morgause was still alive. But no - there had to be a reason - any reason why Morgause had said they should ask for this particlar soul to be returned. She would not have given up her life for just any soul, surely? And Nimeuh from all accounts was supposed to be all powerful!
"I do not know when you became lost, so I cannot answer your first question," she spoke a little sharply, but softened her tone as she continued. "However, to answer your other question, yes. Uther is a hypocrite and a liar, and my father above all that. I made my bid for the throne of Camelot some time ago, but Arthur and his lackleys managed to defeat me, and I was forced to retreat to my sister, Morgause." she paused briefly. "I wish to take Camelot again, for Arthur is just like his father, and will never, ever allow magic in that land."
The Witch raised her head, a little dignity shining in her eyes as she steadily looked at the other woman, finding some strength in Nimueh's confusion. "Will you help me?" she asked, proud as her voice did not falter.

She hadn't been entirely sure what to expect. Morgause had not been so clear on what might emerge from the depths, or whether anything even would. She had said what she had hoped to happen, but not whether they would succeed. As the Pendragon watched her sister's life fade from her, tears came to her eyes, though she attempted to blink them back. Morgause was all she had in this life; without her, what use was there in continuing her course? But no, Morgana had to be strong, for the Priestess had died so that Morgana might finally, finally, be rid of Uther and his son, her brother.
She held Morgause's body to her, shuddering a little when a regal, proud voice spoke, demanding to know their reason for being brought back. Morgana raised shaken eyes to meet those of the woman who had emerged, swallowing uncertainly. "My sister has sacrificed herself so that you might be brought here," she stated unsurely. "I mean to take over Camelot, and to regain my throne. We believed that you would be willing to aid us."

I agree, his unproffesional(ism?) was cringable and annoying. I kinda wanted to hit him... *whistles innocently!* Yeh, the Prince/King thing annoyed me too, like you say he obviously knew nothing about the show or just simply didn't care enough to get his facts right! Which, considering this was broadcasting all over the world, was really stupid of him! Notice Colin's face when Bradley attempted to leave the conversation quickly, it was like 'do NOT leave me with him!'... (over? rant? Phht, never!)

The smile she showed Yassia was patronising at best, as she considered the best way to answer her question. "What more could I want....?" she mused, openly teasing the girl. "What could someone like you give to someone like me to secure your beloved Uncle's safety?"
Morgana chuckled, shrugging. "I shall think on it," she paused. "Meanwhile, you might like to know that I have a... I believe she is a friend of yours... a Caitrin? She is my guest here also. I thought it might please you to know she has also shared my company." she smirked. "She has shown herself to be the weakling I always believed her to be, of course." This wasn't exactly true; Caitrin had taken a lot of wearing down to get her to agree to anything at all, but Morgana was not about to tell Yassia that. With interest she watched the lady, wondering how she would react to such news, wondering whether it would make her more anxious.

She was enjoying this more and more. This political spat between them was making the Queen almost want to giggle, something that was rare indeed these days! But of course she would not, becuase she was Queen, and Queens do not giggle by default. Instead she smiled sweetly, and shrugged a little. "Providing she too signs a letter of allegance," she agreed. "Of course she will be freed."
At the girls' question, Morgana raised an eyebrow, smiling still. "Why, my dear, tonight. For it will take all day for my people to write out the allegance, the wording must be perfect! Nothing but the best of allegances will do for you, my dear girl." She was patronising her openly now, and revelling in it. "Until that time, you will stay here, at my pleasure."

"We are both home and safe, now," Morgana countered. "And I would not have it any other way. But what am I saying? You must be in need of food and drink, and perhaps a change of clothes..." she paused. "If you are not too tired, would you join me in my rooms and dine with me?" The brunette would have invited Arthur also, if it were not for the consistant feelign that something had changed between these two, and she could almost sense the tension.
Though Gwen's next words confused her, Morgana simply raised an eyebrow for a blink of a moment, before schooling her face into neutrality. Oh, she was not going to let Arthur get away with that!! She knew how he felt about Gwen, it was so easy to see! "Truthfully, I think that even if I hadn't, he would have come anyhow. Uther practically forbade him to come, and Arthur disobeyed him," she said softly, honestly "And 'us'? Who is this other person you speak of, Gwen? You must tell me everything!"

As Arthur promised her that she did not deserve to die, the disgraced Ward raised her head, meeting the eyes she knew so well, perhaps better than her own. "I should have told you," she murmured, not arguing with him but simply stating facts as they filtered through her mind. "but I... I did not know what to say." She closed her eyes briefly, tears continuing to run down her features.
"You will always be a brother to me," she whispered in response to his words. "But I cannot allow you to stand in the way of your father's word. I will see you two distanced because of me. Because of this..." Morgana's voice faltered, and she shivered a little, taking another breath to try to calm herself. As the Prince spoke of hope, she shook her head, sadly. "We both know that will never happen," she stated. "For Uther will always hate those who possess magic. Do you remember what he nearly did to Gaius? How he probed him with questoins?" she swallowed, biting her lip. "Gaius was only trying to protect me, and Uther nearly had him executed. So why woudl he not do the same to me?"
Her eyes opened once more, and Morgana met the blonde's eyes. "You must not do anything to try and save me, Arthur." she murmured. "Please. I must accept whatever fate the King has planned for me, and you must not get involved. To do so I fear would be foolish, even though the loyalty would be much appreciated."

The ward of Uther Pendragon flinched at the panic in Arthur's voice. She should have expected it. Really, she wasn't sure why she wasn't reacting in the same way. But ever since Gaius had confirmed the awful news, Morgana had been in a strange state of ethereal calm that she could not rid herself of. "I do not remember that night," she stated calmly in reply, her voice quiet, and not so strong as it normally was. "I..." With a breath, she simply shook her head.
The blonde's next question was not such a surprise to expect, but still equally as difficult to respond to. For she truly could not remember, and she had no way of explaining to Arthur just how much she wished she could, although part of her was very much grateful she could not. Oh, everything was such a mess. "I don't know," she confessed, knowing her words wouldn't make sense. "Arthur, I swear to you, I don't know. I... I don't remember what happened, and I don't remember who it was or when or how or why!"
As he stated that the King would find out, hysteria rippled through the Ward. "I know he's going to find out!" she exploded, her eyes wide with fright. "Do you think I look forward to seeing the disappointment in his eyes? Do you think I do not know that he will probably hate me, if not lock me up until the damn thing is born?!" She cut off as pain rippled through her body, giving a soft cry, presssing a hand to the bed in an attempt to steady herself, closing her eyes briefly. After a few moments Morgana looked up at Arthur, her eyes bright with unshed tears. "I don't know what to do," she confessed. "Please, Arthur. Please, help me."

To have Arthur Pendragon at her mercy was an incredible feeling. And yet... and yet... Morgana could not silence the lament that whispered in the darkest corners of her heart at the sight of the proud blonde kneeling thus before her. Though she had once truly loved him as a sister would love a brother, now she only felt anger. Anger and betrayal. Morgause's words to her this past year echoed in her mind, giving her no rest, and she could not deny the truth of them. Arthur's question was rightly put, but Morgana simply narrowed her eyes at him. "I have become who I should have been so long ago," she hissed quietly at the Prince. "Finally I can step from the shadow of the great Arthur Pendragon, and show my superiority over your weakness."
The Queen rose from her throne, and stepped down to once again kneel next to Arthur, watching his eyes. "So long I have dreamed of this moment, Arthur. Once I had hoped we would take it together, you and I. We would have been unstoppable. But that can never be." She stood, turning to the Throne once more as the Pendragon asked his question regarding the prisoners. A soft chuckle let loose from Morgana's throat. "You will come to see, Arthur," she promised quietly. "You will come to see. All things in time."
As Caitrin was forced to enter, and eventually recognised Arthur, Morgana gave a cruel smile. "You see before you a broken man, Caitrin," she spat. "You thought I would never capture him, and yet here he is! The great Arthur!" she laughed, loud and strong. "brought to nothing in my Halls." Her words were cut off by the entry of Yassia, and she watched with amusment at the girl's relief that first her friend was safe, and then her disbelief at Arthur's capture. "I suppose you will not recognise my brother without all his finery," she teased Yassia. She turned her gaze briefly to Arthur. "You see before you two women, Arthur Pendragon. Two women who once would have swore allegance to you. Did you know that Caitrin has, without any preamble, sworn herself to me? She has utterly renounced you, Arthur!! She signed away her friendship to you without a second thought for anything but her own safety - what does that reveal about her trust?" Oh, this was glorious! To tease Arthur so when he had been so firm and strong with his friends, whilst Morgana had had none!
The Queen's voice turned to silk, as she moved to the Throne, and sat, her eyes moving between the three people bowed before her. "You all have a choice," she stated firmly. "Now that I have Arthur, there is much that has been accomplished. However, a statement will have to be made. To show the people my power." She smiled, cruelly. "You two," she glanced first at Yassia and then at Caitrin. "Will be witnesses." With a click of her fingers, Morgana was on her feet again. The doors opened, and in stepped one of Cenred's men, a man trained to torture. He moved forward, and even Morgana almost shivered in fear at the expression on his face. She quickly composed herself, though, and nodded to him. "This is an old friend of mine," she stated. "And he is going to help me send a message. Guards!" she commanded. "Force Arthur to his feet, and hold him fast."

Nothing could compare to the delicious satisfaction running through Morgana at this moment. She turned to face Caitrin as the girl threatened her, saying she should not harm her friend, giving a soft, dark chuckle. "I did indeed promise such a thing," she agreed. "Do not worry, Yassia will not be harmed, for as I promised I so shall do." she shrugged. "Every political person knows one has to have leverage. Well, Yassia is mine. Should you betray me, or go against me, she will pay the price."
Morgana paused, meeting Caitrin's eyes, seriously "I warn you now, I do not say that lightly." She glanced at the chains holding the woman. "Those will be removed once the document is signed. After all, I cannot have you running off to Arthur before your commitment to me is made, can I?" she teased.

"I shall never finish mocking you," came the reply from Morgana, filled with too much confidence. "I shall make this moment haunt you for the remander of your life. I shall make you hate yourself, and the choice you have made. I will make Camelot despise you for your weakness." The Witch smiled. "And Arthur will know of your deciet, of your weak heart. He will never want to be called friend by you again."
With a chuckle the Queen moved toward the door. "I shall bring the document for you to sign shortly. And gather the witnesses." she paused. "You should be aware, I have a friend of yours as my prisoner also. A... Yassia, I believe her name is? I think you two might know each other," she chuckled. "I wonder, what would she think of such a betrayal to the Pendragon blonde, hmm?"

A small chuckle from those Royal lips, as Morgana acknowledged Caitrin's words. "No," she agreed. "I suppose you would not. And yet... I think he should be there. I think he should see what you have come to. Understand who you truly are." The Queen shrugged. "Not that Uther has ever particuarly cared for you. But to know that you have denounced his son, denounced Arthur... I shall find it interesting to see his reaction."
The Queen raised an eyebrow when Caitrin denied Arthur having a weak heart, and though Morgana privately agreed with her - she knew it would take more to break the Prince to her will - she was not going to admit that, and certainly not here and now. She moved forward. "He will," she assured "when he finds out how little a dearly beloved friend of his truly feels about him. When he realises that you signed over your loyalty to me, he will break, and fall, and become nothing, as he should have been from birth."
